Are there any main characters to RSP? Who are they?
While RSP is many stories, these two would be considered the “main characters” out of everyone! ♥

Tell us more about Jene! You said he's "too old" for Sam. How old is he?
Jene Odio is, like most characters of RSP, mixed. He’s mostly an Angel of Order with a light sprinking of Angel of Justice in there for good measure. He is indeed too old Sam, being that he is a little over 1,000 years old (like 1,013 or something) while Sam is in his literal 20s!! Now in the context of angels and demons, Jene is considered an adult. It’s one of the reasons he lives on the mortal plane; in angelic society adults can choose what plane of existence they want to live on but are free to travel to the others as they see fit (except the Fae plane). Sam was born, and grew up, among mortals and thus his growth rate mimicked a mortal’s but by angelic society he’s literally a toddler. Sometimes Jene is actually really shocked about half of the shit Sam has been up to, but he does make the allowance that Sam’s entire physiology is a cluttered mess. Doesn’t mean he’ll be attracted to what he sees as a kid, but it helped him develop a friendship with Sam rather than just dismiss everything Sam did as childish. Can’t really,,,grow that way,,
Anyway, about Jene Odio personally. At the actual age of ten he lost both of his parents in what is known as The Last Angelic War (obviously there hasn’t been one since then). He was taken in by his uncle and aunt and was raised with his cousin, Anya Grey. Angels of Order typically have a hard time processing anything that isn’t neat and Jene falls hard upon this genetic trait. He didn’t understand other angels and felt like an outsider among Angels of Justice (his uncle) and Angels of Healing (his aunt). He and Anya formed a deep alliance as kids which carried into their adulthood as they both trained under his uncle to become Angelic Knights. But other angels often still took to ridiculing Jene and he developed a deep depression. Anya was determined to help her cousin by any means necessary, so they left the Angelic Plane for the mortalmade Realms, where care for the different was more abundant.

Do Sam or Cryya have any past relationships?
Oooh, they do indeed-y.
Cryya has one ex-boyfriend named Magnus. Like Cryya, Magnus doesn’t show affection well and doesn’t easily form attachments. And this was one of the biggest strains on their relationship. While they both scoffed at traditional romantic language, and had similar pragmatic philosophies, they also both wanted more from a relationship than someone to talk shit with. For Cryya, she more or less wanted Magnus to at least say he loved her. At least pay…a little attention to her. Magnus was neither interested nor did he pretend to be interested in displays of affection and in the end he realized he didn’t want a relationship at all… He admitted to Cryya that he had cheated on her with an angel. It had come out of nowhere for Cryya. Even if he was distant, he had always been honest, and even kind of sweet in his own way. She didn’t know what to think. She asked him if it had happened more than once and he replied ‘yes.’ She asked him if he regretted it and he replied ‘no.’ She got up and left his dorm and never looked back. He didn’t care either way, but he still holds onto the couple of things she forgot at his place.
Ironically, although Sam is a hopeless romantic and has had quite a few close encounters of the naked kind, he only actually considers two people as contenders for the position of an ex. Diana is an Angel of Lust, the angelic equivalent of a Desire, what Sam’s stronger half is. Diana was the first person to not feel inadequate because of Sam’s instincts. She taught him it didn’t mean he wasn’t worth loving. The problem was that Diana didn’t practice what she preached. When he caught her cheating on him, she tried to play off by saying she knew that Sam had done it too; “What’s the big deal Sam? Why is it so bad that I do it, too? Are you mad that I do it better than you?” But she was wrong. He had never once considered sleeping with anyone else while with her. He refused to be baited by her manipulation and broke up with her. …..and almost broke the monochromatic prick she was fucking in half.
His ‘relationship’ with Jene Odio was a completely different story. They weren’t even really in a romantic relationship and are best friends. Sam and Jene were thrown together as roommates and Sam soon found himself crushing really hard on his new roomie. Jene is an angel of order and for the most part just didn’t feel the same romantic kinship that Sam did. Jene was just…too old(by angel standards) to consider Sam that way. But even unrequited, his feelings for Jene really opened the door for Sam about accepting all aspects of himself. And the friendship that followed helped even more. Sam is super grateful that Jene shut down his romantic advances but made it clear that it didn’t have to do so much with Sam as a person. Jene just…loves him more as a younger brother, and Sam has accepted that.
[Illustrations of Magnus, Diana, and Jene were supposed to be provided by Mik but he’s an asshole]

What does the society look like? Do the angels and demons fight constantly?
You’ve given me the perfect question so thank you so much for that.
No, the angels and the demons do not constantly war with each other, but they indeed compete against each other in one aspect: the consumption of mortal souls.
In RSP, angels and demons are two genetic variants of the same race, so they share a lot of similar characteristics, and can even crossbreed with each other. Their over branching species is known as an All-Being. This is because the originators of their species were once the same being. This being divided into two beings, the first Angel, and the first Demon and these two fell in love with each other. The children that the Angel birthed became the angelic variant, and the children that the Demon birthed became the demonic variant.
It’s very essential that the two variants don’t war with each other. This is because every ‘year’ they hold a special ceremony where angels and demons volunteer to come together and mix their genetics, to create a generation of All-Beings to keep the gene pools from homogenizing; to make sure neither variant die off. However, that being said, there have been a lot of vicious wars for both angels and demons against their own kind. In fact, their war-mongering ways led to the rise of power for Berserker demons and Angels of Justice respectively.
The reasons for war were very much for the same petty reasons as mortals. Personal disagreements, desire to expand territory, as a show of force, maybe a slight. All in all the frequent warring breaks the hearts of the first Angel and the first Demon, but they do their best to not overreach their rule over their races; both have learned the consequences of being controlling.

what happened to cloudwalker elves
Short Answer: They went extinct. Let me explain WHY.
Cloudwalker Elves are called this because, as far as science tells them, they were the very first elven race. Given this information, like with neanderthals to humans, cloudwalker elves had a lot of stuff to figure out about becoming a domineering race and they had it mostly figured out. They were intelligent, social, compassionate elves whose oneness with the nature around didn’t rob them of their bestial genetics. Cloudwalker elves were proven (through fossil remains) to have been at least partially feathered. They grew feathers largely on their torsos, arms, and face. They may have even had wings and could’ve been capable of flight. There isn’t a huge amount of research currently ongoing with Cloudwalker Elves given the current conservation efforts to preserve Earth.
Now, because Cloudwalker elves kept mostly to themselves and preferred natural agri/horticulture to scavenging and hunting, their settlements actually prospered pretty well. They developed an incredible sensitivity to color and smell and could even determine whether soil was viable to be planted on based on a glance. Now because they were good at growing food and didn’t have to worry about their basic needs, they developed some really, really, REALLY elaborate social customs and had so many layers to their social society that even an onion would’ve told them to tone it down. To make it really simple: the more intimate and social you were with more people, the more you were worth to your community. Those with powerful social networks became their version of ‘royalty’. Among the royalty of course were the suitors and courtesans making a name for themselves off of their coattails as well.
Since they were such social butterflies among mortalkind, they were very friendly to any visitors they received and gained a reputation of being ‘easy’ in any, and every, sense of the word. The only problem was that they weren’t aware of this fact because even though they were very social, their own social networking kept them so preoccupied that they didn’t pay much mind to society as a whole. No one could risk losing power by visiting those outside of their community! This was their biggest flaw.
They had no sense of military at all. Sure there were fighters and guards among them. But largely it was to keep wild animals at bay or even the occasional criminal. Their homesteads and farms were already perfect for what they needed. Other Cloudwalkers moved between their communities, visitors were always a pleasant surprise, so why fight? They didn’t realize that something as simple as someone wanting their gardens could cause warfare. Not to mention because they were such socialites and communicated so well, that other people that it was relatively easy to deceive them, and also unfortunately, they were always very quick to insult someone who would slight them. When you live in a society where ‘warfare’ is handled as a debate between the two people having the fight, you don’t realize other people aren’t as reasonable.
Warfare literally wiped out the race. Sure, they learned what was happening and tried their damn best to defend themselves, to end the conflicts peacefully, and to do anything that would ensure their survival, but it was too little to late. There was word that Cloudwalker Elves thought of humans as hairless apes. There was talk of their feathers being used for potions to cure disease, There were fields that they wouldn’t plow, etc. Cloudwalkers didn’t see the world outside of themselves and for that crime, and that crime alone, they didn’t survive.

what are you guys' plans for this story? is it a story? whatever it is!
Good Question! In all seriousness, I really don’t have anything concrete. There’s a lot for RSP and a lot to RSP that I don’t feel like could be done justice in one medium. I could write it as a series of tales following the narratives of a few choice protagonists but then you’re only limited by what you can describe. Mod Mik can illustrate every character, give them all reference sheets and even plot maps and draw the Realms we’ve seen so far but then you wouldn’t ‘hear’ how the characters talk, or understand each and every placement of a building for a Realm. I could answer 1000 asks about every single detail of RSP there is and still there would be gaps. So the only way to really do a project like this justice is to do it all. I write about the various characters, I tell exerts of their stories. Mik illustrates, and organizes, our characters and we collaborate on all of the details. We have plans and ideas in the works of more ambitious projects, like visual novels or even rpgs, that could give you even more of what RSP is to us. Realm Survival Project is more than one story, it’s many stories and many settings all able to coincide and happen together and it all happens under one universe connected by technology and magic woven together to save the world.

Are demons and celestials the only species? Our are there more?
There are SO much more, not to mention a lot of divisions within the species as well.
As well as regular humans, we have:
(8) different elven species (this includes orcs and dwarves),
(6) identified different Demonic/Angelic species (of higher sentience)
Dark/Light Matter Celestials
Fae (both Seelie and Unseelie)
Bestial Races (like dragons, sprites, chimera, etc)
And Beast Folk which is our catch-all for anthropomorphic people (Canine Beastfolk, Feline Beastfolk, Dragon Beatfolk, you get it)
For the names of the Elven/Demonic/Angelic species click the read more

What is Magnus? he an angel too?
No, no. Magnus is a regular human being. He’s just also a grade-A asshole not in touch with any of his own emotions. He’s nice to his brother, tho.

im confused. angels steal souls too? D:
That they do! In RSP, angels and demons are the same type of creature. Angels have a better reputation than demons because they’re a lot nicer to humans and also a lot harder than demons to summon. But ultimately, angels need to eat too and there is nothing more decadent, or filling, than human souls. Angels are better at convincing people to give them up, in exchange for say paradise upon death, while demons don’t promise anything as grandiose, and more often than not, demons prefer to take souls than to bargain.

Can we get a quick whose who of those cuties? 👀
You absolutey can!
The first duo are Sam (Essam Fog) and Cryya (Cryya Rowe)
Sam is a Mixed blood demon, part berserker part desire with heavy desire leanings. He lives happily with Cryya in a new Realm and follows his ambitions of writing music and helping reconnect with his family
Cryya is a celestial working hard as an artist. She works hard for her illustration degree and two part-time jobs. Even if it doesn’t always show, she wouldn’t change a thing about her life. For her, she feels like things are coming together.
Their relationship is a new experience for both of them. Cryya and Sam both have complicated feelings about the concepts of true love and commitment. They’re working hard not only to make a relationship work but also to make sure that the person they are isn’t being compromised in the interim. They want to be together but not have to be uncomfortable.
The second duo are Chea (Chea Rowe) and Devin (Adevintri’dgl Fog)
Devin is Sam’s older brother and Chea is Cryya’s older sister!
Chea was a child prodigy who earned three separate degrees in the fields of psychology and psychiatry and first earned her license to perform therapy when she was a teenager. She now works with a psychiatric clinic, and she specializes with the more ‘difficult’ clients. She believes everyone deserves to have help when they need it.
Devin Fog leans more berserker but he is also mixed. He ran away from home when he was younger (with Sam in tow) and tried to grow up too fast to take care of both himself and his brother. As an adult, he’s learned to better control his temper and has found a positive outlet for his more aggressive instincts.
They have been together since they both met when they were teenagers and they are truly thankful for what they have now. They have never wavered in their love for each other and they never will. Ever.
Please ask away about any aspect of RSP, or any of these characters! We’d love to talk more about them!
