the sky was beautiful and everyone in three bridges was standing at the main waiting for the bride and groom meanwhile Rick was standing there happily as the guests walked by and congratulated him for his daughter Cordelia wedding and he watched everyone was here and nodded his head to captain crow as he was all the way down there and he nodded him back of course.

“Father!!.” Mia walked toward him with her blue gown dress with her curly hair into a bun with a small pin.

“Yes?. What’s wrong?” But as he was talking Mia quickly grabbed his arm and take him inside one house where Cordelia is and Amber and miles was there and was standing outside the door. “Why you lot doing here?. The wedding is about to start soon?.”

“we want you to see Cordelia.” Said Amber and miles open the door and came Cordelia walked out wearing her wedding dress with less fabric and he hair bun with braids and few daisy and blue flowers in her hair and Rick look at her in a proudly way.

“oh my?…Cordelia you look…” he look at her down and up. “You don’t like it. It’s okay cause I was—.” Rick immediately cut her off. “No no no. I love it… it’s just.” He sighed and covered his face with his hand and sniff and Mia give him a napkin to wipe off his tears. “Thank you.”

“well what are waiting for?.” Said Amber as the others walking out and head to the ceremony. “Rick wait.” Cordelia called him.

“yeah?.” He turned around. “Thank you…for everything.” She smiled softly as she holding her bouquet. “The day you found me in the sea. You were the only person I was with through out my life…even though you lie to me, hiding behind my back and not telling the truth about my real parents…but you did all that to protect me and you love me…it was not real parents. My real parents are you. My real family is you guys.” She say all out with her encourage as Rick was surprised by her words. “Rick…dad…would you do me the honor to walk me down the aisle?.”

Without hesitation Rick immediately hug her tightly but try his best to not ruined her makeup or dress before Mia or Amber killed him. “Yes I will do the honors.” He wipe his tears before he reaches his arm out for her and she did as her arm wrapped around his and walked outside.

The music started and everyone watched them walking down to the aisle as Amber watched them and was in tears as Sarah was beside her as her hand on her shoulder to calm her and Mai watched her sister walking down through out their journey together they finally found love and happiness as her husband put his hands on her shoulders and kiss her cheeks to love and comfort.

as Rick walks her down everything pause for him and he look over at his family and seeing his wife young and then Mia a young beautiful and then miles a young lad who still making trouble and then looked at course Cordelia who little and young when he first time finding her and raising her but then he snapped out of it and looked around again and everything was normal he sighed softly and then finally made it. He finally let her go but before he can leave Cordelia kiss on the cheek and Rick gently patted her on her hand and then patted Jacob shoulder before squeezing it.

“hurt her and I kill you.” He looked at him coldly and threatened him. Cordelia rolled her eyes as Rick walked away before standing next to his wife as he watched the ceremony started he looked over and froze when he saw his unalive kids Isabel and Chris and they both smiled softly and nodded at their father and Rick closing his eyes they were gone. He smiled softly as tears rose down from his eye and smiled and looked at three his kids and he knew they going to live a great…life.

Reveling in Richonne

#130 The Lucky Ones (9x01)

Y’all, this moment right here...

Rick and Michonne have had to endure a ton of hardships, and yet they’re still so fortunate cuz they were lucky enough to find each other. And in this scene they make that blatantly clear.

The lights go out and then the magnets find their way right back to each other.

As they lay down and again wrap their arms around each other, the scene lingers and I was like what are we preparing for? And y’all...

Cuz then under the pretty moonlight, Rick manages to make my heart burst when he whispers to her, “How’d I get so lucky finding you?” 

Y’all!!!!!!! The best line in the whole dang series. 🥳🎉🤩🥰😍🙌🏽💯😇

When I tell you I heard that line the first time and loudly gasped with joy despite watching this with others. It’s the truth. 😂 I couldn’t help but be emotional cuz that line is just so beautiful. Like this is the exact reaction I had when I heard this line...

The dissertation I could write on this line alone lol. I gotta gush and list all the reasons this line is so precious and so powerful and so perfect:

1. One of the things I have most loved about Richonne’s dynamic is that Rick has always been pretty vocal about his appreciation towards Michonne. He thanks her a whole lot throughout this series and even reminds her of how she’s the one who has led him. But saying this line right here has to take the cake in terms of Rick’s outward appreciation. 

2. The way he says it. It’s such an intimate and personal moment and so genuine. So vulnerable and so right. 😌 I love that he vocalizes this cuz he could’ve just thought it and kept it to himself (cuz I think this thought is clearly one that he thinks often), but I love that he said it and it almost felt subconscious too. Like he was just thinking it but was so overcome with gratitude for her that he also says it out loud. He’s said this line with his face in many scenes prior to this, but it’s great that in his final season he just outright says it verbally. 

3. I love that he feels this way about her cuz it’s so accurate. Rick knows, like we know, that he’s the luckiest man in the world to have Michonne as his true love. He knows she’s bettered him and got him through and played a gigantic part in making life worth living for him and for their kids and for everybody up in this joint. She’s royalty and I love that she has a man who knows this and is grateful for it. Royalty recognizes royalty. 👑

4. It also makes me think about their first encounter at the prison and how he probably reflects back on that day as the day his whole world changed because, as he quickly got to know Michonne and get evermore drawn to her, he’d realize he met the woman of his dreams on the other side of that fence. 

It’s perfect the way they first see each other in season three; Rick sees a bunch of walkers and then there’s Michonne in between them. And it’s sort of this bigger metaphor cuz in that moment it showed Rick that even amidst the dead there can be life. 

And in a greater way, even amidst this walker infested world, there can be love. A love supreme at that. And they were lucky/destined to find it. 😊

5. Just thinking about their journey as a whole, from the fence forward, and how much each thing they went through brought them closer and made them fall more in love. That’s rare and I love that Rick feels lucky to have found someone so amazing and to have something so special between them. I feel like this line just perfectly encapsulates the way Rick feels about her and has felt about her for the longest. 

Michonne pauses and whispers to him, “We’ve both lost enough. It’s time we won a little, don’t you think?” And y’all, no lie, this whole scene just makes me emotional cuz their journey all leading up to these final moments in season nine is just so beautiful and so earned. 🙌🏽😊

The fact that she feels the love they have is the way that they’ve won amidst all their loss. 😭 The fact that they both mutually feel lucky to have each other, cuz they know this isn’t just a happenstance connection but a soul mate connection. 😭 They are each other’s light in everything and they absolutely won in finding each other. 🙌🏽

And then Michonne kisses his hand which reminds me of the parallel hand kisses in 7x12 and again I just love how clear it is that these two treasure each other.  When they’re in each others arms the world is right for them and they know they’re in love with someone special. 

The value they have for each other is next level special just like this scene. 😊👌🏽There was a gentle and peaceful quiet over this whole scene. No music, no ambience, just the two of them filling this screen with so much authentic love.

After she says this, Michonne turns to Rick and, y’all, we need to talk about the way this man looks at her. 🤭 

Rick has had plenty of whipped looks at Michonne throughout this whole show, both pre-canon and post-canon. But he tops them all with this look right here. 💯

The depth of love he feels for her is so richly conveyed it’s kinda crazy. It’s just so genuine cuz these actors can bring those emotions to life so authentically and vividly. He truly looks at her like she’s his everything in this moment. And you know Michonne is looking at him in the same exact way. ☺️

So naturally things escalate lol. 

And I adore that Michonne playfully repeats “The Famous Rick Grimes” cuz while yes it’s funny, sis also knows it’s true. And I love that she boosts Rick’s ego up like that. The delivery of that line was perfect. 😋 

And I love the way that Rick laughs, cuz let’s be real if there’s one person Rick actually wants to be the man to, it’s Michonne. And so this whole moment is great and just goes to show that even a year and half later they still have a lot of passion for each other. 👌🏽💯

I thought knowing this was Rick’s last season would just put a sad shadow over every scene but Rick and Michonne were so present with each other in this episode that I couldn’t help but be present with them and just enjoy this for the beauty and joy that it is.

That line and their love is so accurate and full circle, so where I thought I’d be solely watching somberly, instead I was watching this all like...

For everything they’ve been through, every hardship they’ve endured together, for them to have the best love story in this show (and any other show imo) it’s the win of all wins, happening to two characters who truly deserve to win like this.

And we won by getting a scene this perfect from the best couple on TV. It really is special that this couple can make a scene hot, heartfelt, and humorous all at the same dang time. Richonne is the GOAT and this scene further solidified that. How’d we get so lucky? 👑💯😌
