As I am 3 chapters away from Jason's death. Let me just rant since I have no friends to talk to about this!
So first of all, the burning maze is the last book we will ever see Jason in, and we only get like 70 pages of him in the actual book! The rest beforehand is just offhand mentions of him!!
Then we go off to his school where he seems to be living the life he always wanted! Just a normal life. No preator duties, no being treated like a prince, nothing!
Then he immediately punches us with what they sybil told him which was that either he or piper would die if we went looking for caligula. (I HATE CALIGULA OH MY GODS)
LIKE BRO HE BARELY REMEMBERS WHO HE IS AND WHAT HIS LIFE WAS LIKE BEFORE A YEAR AGO AND NOW HE'S DEAD AND GONE???
ARE YOU ACTUALLY KIDDING ME?!?!?!
BRO. HE WAS INTRODUCED AS NOT REMEMBERING ANYTHING, LIVING FOR A FEW MONTHS (A SINGLE SUMMER) THEN LOSING HIS BEST FRIEND, THEN ONCE HE FINALLY FOUND A PLACE WHERE HE TRULY BELONGED AND A LIFE THAT HE PAVED OUT FOR HIMSELF NOT DUE TO HIS PARENTAGE HE DIES. HE JUST DIES.
LET ME REMING YOU ALL, THAT HE REMEMBERS PRETTY MUCH NOTHING FROM HIS PAST LIFE AKA HIS LIFE BEFORE HERA. SO BASICALLY HE DIES ONLY REMEMBERING A SHELL OF WHO HE WAS AND ONLY REMEMBERING A COUPLE OF THINGS OF HIS LIFE!!
HE LIVED 16 YEARS BUT DIED ONLY REMEMBERING LIKE 1.5 OR 2 IF WE'RE BEING GENEROUS!!!!

Rick Returns
After a much too long hiatus, I have finally made a new Rick fic. Wow. A lot has changed since my last fic, but I want to thank all of you amazing readers who have been so patient. Please forgive me if my writing is a little rusty. Thanks again and excited for Season 7 tonight! ❤
(Rick C-137 x Reader) SFW-, Swearing, Hurt/Comfort, Missing Someone, Season 6 Spoilers, 1,900+ words
Rick comes to see you again after a long time. And you find some changes in him.
*************************************************
It had been too long. Far too long. You hadn't heard a single word from Rick in what felt like a lifetime and were still wondering what the hell went wrong. It seemed to have happened out of nowhere. One day, everything had been fine, and then suddenly, he all but disappeared. He didn't come see you anymore; he wouldn't call you up, not even a single text. At first, you started to think an adventure went awry. Then you started thinking something was really wrong, but you weren't sure what. Is he on a new planet? Did he have to do a high-paying mission? What if he's hurt? Or could he be dead? With how things are now, he might as well be. He started to become a series of bittersweet memories now. You did everything you could to try to forget him, but that was pointless. Rick Sanchez wasn't a man you can just forget, no matter how hard you tried. Many tears were shed, and many thoughts crept into your mind. If his leaving had nothing to do with his space-traveling lifestyle.
Did I do something wrong?
Did he find someone else?
Was I...not enough?
Many months had passed, and you were certain the blue-haired scientist was out of your life forever.
Close to midnight, you were in your bathroom washing your face and getting ready to sleep. As you enter your bedroom, about to lay down in your bed, you hear a sound you thought you would never hear again—the loud warp of a portal.
Immediately, your heart sped up rapidly as you wondered if you were hallucinating. But when you saw a young brunette boy in a yellow t-shirt, you were completely puzzled.
".....Morty??"
You were worried he was here to tell you really bad news about his grandfather. But you had no time to even ask what was happening before another figure broke through the portal. A figure much taller. The silhouette of his spiky hair caught your eye immediately.
It was him. He was here. Rick was back in your room.
His eyes were fixed on you right away. There was almost a determination in them. Yet he also looked unsure.
"Thanks, Morty. I'll take it from here." He motioned the kid to the portal, presumably back home. The boy took a worried glance at both of you before turning back through the portal and disappearing. Now it was just you and Rick. Looking into his eyes for the first time in forever, all the pain came back crystal clear. And the source was right in front of you.
"Bab-"
"DON'T. YOU. DARE. 'BABY' ME."
Rick shut his mouth and understood right away. You were not going to let him off so easily.
"You son of a bitch." You spat at him.
"I know you're mad, and I-"
"Mad!? You ghost me for months; I haven't had even one measly fucking text, and you think I'm mad!?" You interrupted. "I didn't know what the hell happened to you! All these months without any contact from you. Nothing."
Rick stayed silent. He had no argument to make.
"At first, I just thought, 'Oh, he's on a big adventure with Morty! No biggie!' Or had a run-in with an alien mob or something, and it would just take a bit longer to get back to me," you explained. Looking back at Rick, he was rubbing the back of his neck, his eyes looking down to the floor. But you knew he was still listening.
"I was starting to think you were dead." You confessed, trying to keep yourself together.
Rick took in a deep breath before he answered. "I owe you an explanation. All I ask right now is that you'll let me give you that," he requested.
Goddamnit. Just hearing his voice again is painful.
"I thought you were done bailing on people," you said bitterly.
Rick interjected, "Hey, don't start with that." You watched him grab his flask out of his lab coat and take a sip from it.
"Why? Truth too much for you? Does the great Rick Sanchez actually have a kryptonite?" you mocked.
Rick put his hand over his mouth, keeping himself quiet as you let out everything you suppressed inside all this time.
"You told me you'd never leave me behind. No matter where you'd go, you would stick around." You scoffed. "I was really fucking stupid to believe you."
Rick was starting to get agitated. This was not how he pictured this playing out.
"Ugh. Look, I didn't come here to argue."
"No. You want to smooth everything over so I can do any favors you'll want. Bet you never even thought about me all this time. Out of sight, out of mind, right?"
"It's not like that!" he argued. The nerve of him "Why wouldn't it be? It's the same ending to every chapter in your life, Rick. You'll never change."
He winced. That one stung a little. You knew some of your statements could hurt him, but you were too angry to care. Part of you wanted him to see how it felt to be let down by someone you've given your heart to.
"You left an entire dimension after destroying it."
Rick was losing his composure. "Don't."
"Left your family on a tiny planet when the world was going to shit."
He didn't want to hear any of this. "Stop."
"You left Morty to be with some fucking crows."
"Knock it off," he warned.
"Or what!? Are you gonna leave again?" you challenged. "I was starting to accept the fact that you wouldn't come back. What would stop you now?"
"That's not what I meant!" he argued.
"Why would I be so special that you wouldn't bail again? You've done it your whole life. Starting with your own wife and daughter!"
Rick lost it. "I DIDN'T LEAVE MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER!" he shouted. His hands tangled in his hair, and his eyes squeezed shut.
That stopped you dead in your tracks. Confused, you stepped closer to him. A soft gasp escapes when you see that his face has now become wet with tears.
"Rick...?" you said softly. All the rage you previously had inside you has now completely evaporated. This new shift startled you. He was not someone who openly broke down. Nor would he tell such a lie while doing so.
If he didn't leave them, then why weren't they ever with him? Unless his wife took their child and left him, or if they had...
...........
No.
A new feeling is integrated into you: guilt. You were starting to pick up all the tragic pieces together. The heartbreak was plain to see on Rick's face as he trembled in front of you.
In that moment, the source of all his demons became more clear than ever before. He had truly suffered the worst kind of pain.
"Oh...Rick...." Your voice cracked. The distance between you both closed as you wrapped your arms around him. He accepts them immediately and holds on tightly.
"I'm so sorry..."
His face is buried in your neck. To shield his face, or more to just feel you again, it didn't matter. Right now, he needed this. Stroking his baby blue hair, you had almost forgotten how soft it was...
"Rick...I'm sorry...I had no idea..." you said in shame, thinking back to everything you'd said to him before. Now, he had every right to be mad at you. But his first response you received was a soft, gentle kiss on your neck, making you lightly shiver.
"It's haunted me for many years. Consumed most of my life," he confessed. Lifting his head up, you see his face. His eyes were red, and his cheeks were damp from his hurt flooding out of him. Your thumbs gently brush away the tears under his eyes. "I...thought I had finally could have a new chance to find some stability, be with a family, but...something did come up...and it all came flooding back..."
Your brows raised at that.
"So...that's why I haven't been around."
You still weren't entirely aware of the whole story. But one thing was certain: When Rick Sanchez is consumed by something, he gives his all into it.
"I'm such a fucking idiot..." you blurted out, shaking your head. "I thought...you had just gotten bored and moved on from me..."
Rick interjected, "Oh no, baby no..." He pulled you back into his arms, placing your head on his chest. His heartbeat soothed you as you took a deep breath in and out.
"You weren't the only one I hurt here... I-I had kept Morty out of it all too..."
A sigh escapes you. "He's such an amazing grandson to you," you mutter.
"Yeah...but he's not my grands-"
"Yes, he is." You interrupted. "It doesn't matter where you came from or where he came from. He's been there for you through everything and seen you at your worst. And the fact that he came here tonight with you just to make sure you were okay shows me that he still cares about you despite everything. I know he wouldn't want any other Rick. And you wouldn't trade him for any other Morty. You are his grandpa, Rick."
His arms hold you a bit tighter, a silent 'thank you' for your encouraging words.
"Did he tell you to come talk to me?" you wondered.
"Uh no. I, uhh, hooo boy...You won't believe it when I tell you," he warned you awkwardly.
"What?" You didn't know what or who else could convince him to do anything.
"I...was told I should see you by...my uhh...therapist..." he finished, rubbing the back of his neck.
Your eyes bugged out in shock. "A therapist!? You're seeing a therapist!??
He scoffs "Okay, you really don't have to rub i-" His sentence is cut off by a surprise kiss on his cheek, leaving him a little startled. "Oh, Rick. I'm so proud of you," you say sincerely. It's as if hell had frozen over. He really has changed.
"Yeah, she's, uh, she's alright," he admits with a small smile. "She also told me to tell you what I needed to say, so... I'm sorry."
Your vision starts to get blurry with tears. Those two simple words from this man mean so much. Cupping his face in your hands, you give Rick a small smile before leaning forward and pressing your lips to his. Your arms wrap around his neck, never wanting to let him go. He holds you close when he kisses you back with a little more desperation. He hasn't been kissed by you in so long.
When you finally break away to breathe, you look into his eyes again. This time, they look more serene. As if he feels some shred of peace for the first time in... he can't remember when.
"I've missed you..." you whispered. He pressed his forehead against yours.
"I missed you too, baby..."
With that, every shattered piece of your heart had been put back together. There was more he needed to share with you, but the emotional reunion and the fact that it was late at night left you exhausted. But you were going to sleep much more peacefully with the eccentric man resting beside you once again.
After all these painful months, Rick was finally back. He's changed in some ways, and you were looking forward to seeing how these changes would guide him to a better path.
Because, no matter what happens, you will always love him.
❤

Allow me to analyze the toxic, codependent mess that is Rick and Morty's relationship.
Starting off with the abuser, Rick Sanchez!
As much as I love this traumatized, lonely, toxic, abusive old man, he is a horrible person. While he certainly does care about Morty more than anything, the way he treats Morty is anything but healthy, he'll constantly hurl insults at the poor kid, calls the kid replaceable, and makes the kid feel worthless. He acts like a child when it comes to Morty, since he is shown to be extremely jealous, controlling, and possessive of Morty. One of the best examples of this is in "Vindicators 3: Return of Worldender" where Rick straight up put the Vindicators (Aka Morty's heros) into a saw-like death game just out of drunken jealously. While the Vindicators were pieces of shit, this was the most immature, childish way he could've proved it. He also had Morty give up on his dreams when he was afraid of Morty leaving him in "One Crew Coocoo over Morty", he has also stopped Morty's attempts to make new friends his age, this is more subtle, but it's scattered around multiple episodes, the Pilot and Rest and Ricklaxation, where Morty has attempted to talk to Jessica, but Rick interrupts it and pulls Morty away, which Morty having his only friend be his 70 year old grandpa definitely isn't helping things for the already traumatized kid. Rick wants to be Morty's hero, he wants to be Morty's best friend, but he treats Morty so horribly that Morty can't tell. Morty should be aloud to have one friend his age. It's even been confirmed in "The Jerrick Trap" that most of his contact are crime lords, which again can't be healthy! But moving back onto Rick, the reason why I personally believe he is so horrible to Morty is due to his trauma, his wife and child died in front of him, and he blames himself for their deaths, thinking it's his fault, so he's definitely scared to care about others again. And while I certainly feel sympathy for him, that's no excuse to treat your grandson like crap. I do think he, on some level needs Morty, which is where the codependency comes in, as we can see in "Rest and Ricklaxation" Rick turned into a wreck when Morty wasn't around for three weeks. According to Jessica, he's been drunk dialing her and crying about Morty being gone, which, while sweet, shows that he's unable to function without Morty around, showing my argument that Morty is the only stabilizing thing in Rick's life, which is certainly unhealthy, Morty is his 14-year-old grandson, not a therapist. He seems to completely rely on Morty for most things, he relies on Morty to get him food (Rickfending your Mort), he relies on Morty for validation and emotional support (Mutiple episodes, an example is Vat of Acid, where he got so upset that Morty didn't validate his ego that he traumatized the kid). He's definitely changing as we can see in season 6 and 7, but the damage he's done to Morty's psyche has already been done, and the only person who can forgive him for that is Morty, speaking of which...
Let's switch gears to our favorite traumatized child, Morty!
Now I absolutely love Morty, he's my son, and poor traumatized child who deserves all the love in the world, and a good grandpa. Now Morty started the series off pretty naive, as we can see in "Pilot" where he was against shooting people, and when he did, was shown to be shocked and horrified by what he's done, meanwhile in "Mort: Raganrick" he guns down multiple people, and kills a guy with a candlestick with no reaction. And Morty, on a level, needs Rick as well, which is where the codependency kicks in for Morty, when you think about it, Rick is really the only friend Morty has, a toxic friend, but the only one he has, due to Rick's adventures, Morty is unable to make any other friends his age, which can't be helping things, while he relies on Rick less, he was shown to be heartbroken when he left (The two crows episode, I forgot the name), and attempted to get him back twice, even aging himself up to attempt to emotionally blackmail Rick into coming back "Rickmurai Jack" he even has been shown in "Fear No Mort" that he believes that Rick doesn't care about him at all, which makes sense considering how horrible Rick treats Morty on a daily basis.
Whew! That was a long post! I hope you enjoyed reading it and have a lovely rest of your day/night

What are some of your favorite horror movies? And which ones you like to recommend to people?
Holy shit! This question makes me so happy but also so…wow, how do I organize this! How can I narrow them down…there’s just so many horror movies I definitely love and would recommend. The different sub-genres within horror and what’s the best to watch from those was considered, but that leaves out some solid horror movies that don’t fit into any particular sub-genre. So I kind of went chronologically, throughout the years…I might be wrong in some of these years, so please forgive me for that. I’ll also definitely have left off a lot of really good ones, so excuse the incompleteness of the list.
So, as mentioned on my other post, gotta start back in the roaring 20’s, when horror really kind of hit the mainstream, with 1922’s Nosferatu. It’s going to seem really boring if you go in expecting a gore-fest like what we get now, but I think it’s a really stand up film for it’s time, with a great atmosphere and feel to it.
All of the classic Universal monster film’s from the 30’s should be checked out. They’re classics for a reason and the horror genre really owes a lot to these early films.
As far as I know, the original that came out then is impossible to find, but you can find versions of 1932’s Freaks and it’s definitely worth checking out. That movie kind of fucked me up, though a lot of the horror in it was the mass exploitation of people who dared to differ from the norm.
As far as I know, the 30’s version of Sweeney Todd was the first time it was on film? Definitely worth checking out, comparing and contrasting to the Johnny Depp version of it. Both are decent in their own ways (though, of course, the stage renditions are the best).
To me, Son of Frankenstein, while considered a horror at the time, was the first horror comedy. At least, I very much have that feel watching it.
While there were a lot of 40’s horror films, the only one I still remember and enjoy is the Abbott and Costello film I recommended in the previous post.
In my opinion, the 50’s had a lot of really great horror films. Watching them now, they do feel campy and kind of B-grade, but I really do think that is part of the appeal to them and it’s also fun to see some of the tropes in horror that are still used to this day. So from that era, I recommend Donovan’s Brain, I Was a Teenage Werewolf, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, anything with Vincent Price, and Teenagers from Outer Space.
1960 brought us Psycho. Any horror fan should check out Psycho – I consider it a classic and a must watch. I also think that might have been the year The Little Shop of Horrors first came out on film. The original wasn’t bad, though I recommend the later version with Rick Moranis. It had a really great feel to it and was a little more fun than the original.
From the rest of the 60’s…oh, you guys know this one was going to be on here. Rosemary’s Baby, natch. Night of the Living Dead is also one that was obviously going to show up on this list because again – should be considered must-watch for any horror movie lover. Romero and horror – goes hand in hand and especially in terms of zombie tropes…it set up a lot of those. For a surprise from the 60’s though, I do recommend Blood and Black Lace.
The 70’s were great for horror. I definitely recommend the 70’s Wicker Man. If you start to watch Wicker Man and you see Nicolas Cage….press back or do whatever you need to do to turn it off. Then go watch the Wicker Man without Nicolas Cage. You will thank me for that tidbit of advice. Tales from the Crypt, The Exorcist, Jaws, Alien, the OG Carrie, The Omen, the OG The Hills Have Eyes, the OG Suspiria, Dawn of the Dead, I Spit on Your Grave, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Black Christmas, and The Amityville Horror were all fantastic movies from that decade. Plus, the Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchises started in this decade and I really recommend those franchises as a whole. Did both of them have some terrible sequels/prequels/remakes? Oh boy, did they! But overall, the franchises are solid. Young Frankenstein is a solid horror comedy and while technically a miniseries, Salem’s Lot from that time is still something I rewatch at least every year or two.
The 80’s brought Freddy fucking Krueger and boy, do I recommend watching the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise. The Chucky franchise also started at that time and I love the really kind of campy, horror comedy feel to that franchise, with some genuinely scary scenes. The Evil Dead is a classic for a reason and definitely a must watch. Just watch every movie in the franchise because at the worst, they’re hilarious, at their best they’re so, so GOOD. Pretty sure Poltergeist is also from the 80’s but if I’m wrong, it’s late 70’s. I love The Lost Boys, at least the original one. Motel Hell was weird as fuck but pretty decent horror comedy? My favourite horror comedy from the 80’s though has to be April Fool’s Day – definitely one I recommend everyone see at least once. Fright Night from the 80’s was also really good and I actually also enjoy the remake with Colin Farrell. The 80’s also brought a lot of Stephen King adaptions and where I love his writing, I watched a lot of them – Christine, Cujo, Silver Bullet, Children of the Corn (the OG one is my favourite, though the remake wasn’t absolutely fucking horrific), Pet Sematary, Creepshow…notice The Shining is missing? It’s because I actually don’t really like the movie. I found the book more genuinely scary. One that does have to be mentioned but which I will personally NEVER watch again – Cannibal Holocaust. Don’t eat going into it and be aware that it gets very, VERY violent. If you consider Gremlins a horror movie, it’s on there. I just say it’s a classic Christmas movie you should definitely check out around the season. I watch it every Christmas season.
From the 90’s, starting with a miniseries but the version of IT that still scares me the most? The 90’s miniseries with Tim Curry. It will legit make me cry but that’s because clowns freak me out royally. But legit, the 90’s and the 00’s was the era I really was just getting into horror, so I struggle to figure out what is me viewing it with a lot of nostalgia and love and what is actually good so I’m going bullet points for these decades:
Se7en – even non-horror fans know THAT scene from this movie, let’s be real, and I think that makes it have to be on this list.
Village of the Damned
From Dusk Till Dawn
The first Scream came out this decade, as did a couple of the others, but please watch all the franchise except the newest ones. I watched them, not as great as the original run but 1-4…fucking amazing and probably my favourite horror franchise personally.
I Know What You Did Last Summer
The first Blade movie came out in this decade, but I recommend all three.
The Faculty
Urban Legend
House on Haunted Hill
The Sixth Sense really did have an amazing twist, though it looks cheap and played out rewatching or looking back on it. For the time period though – it was an amazing twist.
Sleepy Hollow
American Psycho
Final Destination. Any of the movies in the franchise kind of give me the happy but the first one is probably the best.
Jeeper’s Creepers
Misery
The Leprechan franchise is great horror comedy. I love Warwick Davis.
I recommend the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, only because it led to the show and the show was so, so precious to me.
The Silence of the Lambs, naturally.
Candyman, also naturally.
The Frighteners was a fun horror comedy. I just like seeing bad things happen to Michael J. Fox
Sometimes They Come Back
Cube
Cannibal! The Musical is frigging fantastic and a great black comedy
The Craft
Idle Hands is frigging amazing as well for horror comedy.
From the 2000’s:
Ginger Snaps
Thirteen Ghosts
Valentine
28 Days Later
Cabin Fever
Resident Evil as a franchise is hit or miss, but I like the original
The Ring
Wrong Turn
The Grudge
The Saw franchise
Hostel
House of 1000 Corpses and the follow up movies to it
Shaun of the Dead
House of Wax, just for being able to see Paris Hilton die
When a Stranger Calls
1408 (have an odd crush on John Cusack)
30 Days of Night
The Mist
Dead Silence
Repo! The Genetic Opera
Coraline
Zombieland
Cabin in the Woods is from around that time and still one of the best meta-horror comedies I’ve ever seen.
#admin chatter#horror movie recommendations#please also recommend me horror movies if you don't see them on the list#i will love you forever

The Land Rover of Love and What It Means for Beth’s Return
Because this scene in particular sets up season 2, it’s worth taking a deep dive look. First, the land rover itself. It is a gendarmerie vehicle. They are a national POLICE force in France. (aka Grady)
So, they leave Paris in a blue and white police vehicle. At first, Laurent has the pocket watch that Azlan gave Daryl. Then, he gives it to Daryl, and Daryl wraps it around the rear view mirror where we see both the watch and the cross shape at the end of it. Something to note is that Azlan means lion. In Turkish, it is a term for an emperor. Emperors could, and often did, arrange or approve marriages for young women who did not have a close male relative alive to give their approval. Hold that thought for a minute. We will get back to it.
This pocket watch has multiple layers of symbolism and is SO important for season 2. The pocket watch is one of the most powerful symbols in TWDU.
It’s a keeper of time, it’s a compass or map, and in the TWDU, it’s a symbol of a father’s approval of a husband for his daughter. The pocket watch is a Herschel symbol. When trying to interpret what it means, it’s important to look at when the symbol first appears on TWD. In 2x11, Hershel gives Glen a pocket watch saying that his grandfather brought it over from Ireland. Herschel says, “No man is good enough for your little girl, until one is.” It's so powerful that it is one of the few things Maggie has kept all of these years. So, the first watch is given to Glen in acknowledgement of Glen and Maggie’s soulmate connection, but Herschel has TWO little girls.
How could Herschel show his approval to Beth’s soulmate? By using a proxy to give Daryl a pocket watch. Herschel was a man who had lost his wife and a son. Herschel was a religious man. Azlan lost a wife and child and was a very religious man. He sacrificed himself so Daryl and Laurent would live. He died on a cross. Herschel was sacrificed at the prison. So, by giving Daryl the pocket watch, Azlan was a proxy, an “emperor” with the authority to give Daryl and Beth his blessing.
The fact that it tells time and has a cross shape symbolizes that it is now time for the “resurrection”. Immediately after placing the watch around the rearview mirror, Daryl and Sylvie talk about her leaving a young man she had just connected with on a deep level. She asks Daryl if he had ever been in love. This sets up something that will be part of season 2 for both Sylvie and Daryl which is reconnecting with a romantic connection. In the shot with them is the pocket watch with the cross on the end swinging between them. I believe that because the watch is in the Land Rover on the same level as the other characters, it shows that Beth is symbolically also in the car almost like a fifth character.
Right after the question, which we don’t see Daryl answer, they go to the conversation in the back, which Daryl is listening to, between Isabella and Laurent. Laurent says, “Sometimes you have to do horrible things no matter how bad you feel. There is no other choice. God will forgive you. Like you with my mother.” Isabelle looks shocked. I believe in season 2 this will be a seed that plays into the rest of Isabelle’s story.
What Laurent says about doing something horrible? RIGHT after the have you been in love question is meant to connect the two idea.
TF did something horrible in those 17 days because they had to do it. They left Beth’s body. That’s why Rick was so determined to get Noah to his home FOR BETH. It was his guilt that he didn’t do right by her. It was why Father Gabriel at first told Deanna that TF were horrible people and had sacrificed one of their own.
So, at this point, I was thinking that Beth must be somewhere around the nest, because the watch was engraved with the location and it serves as a type of map..
HOWEVER, the rest of the scene leads to a different interpretation. Next, the car stalls. When the scene cuts, now Isabelle is holding the watch and wrapping it around her hand. She is now “holding Beth” or channeling Beth symbolically, She talks about her father trying to teach her how to change a tire which Daryl contrasts with his Dad. Before this, he never really talks to anyone much about his Dad except Beth, and the story sounds like one Beth could have told about Hershel. She admits she was afraid of him at first which seems much more like something Beth would say about when she first met Daryl at the farm than what Isabelle truly felt when she rescued a hurt Daryl.
Then, they are attacked. Isabelle gets stabbed in the arm just like Beth stabbed Dawn and drops the watch. Symbolically, dropping or “killing” Beth like Dawn did when she was stabbed in the arm. After he kills the other men, Cordon picks up the watch. At this point, it’s important to point out the Cordon has been a mirror for Daryl from the beginning. Most have seen this, so I won’t go into detail. He tells them where the Nest is. He then WALKS OFF WITH THE WATCH. Symbolically, he is walking off with Beth. Just like Daryl did with Beth after the shooting at Grady.
What will this mean? Plot wise, it may be how Genet finds out about the Nest, but symbolically, it means wherever Cordon ends up, he will become connected to Beth. Almost like the watch will want to find its symbolic owners and to reconnect them. The watch has “the Nest” engraved on it. A nest is home for a family. So, one way or another, the watch will lead to Beth and Daryl coming “home” to each other. According to the season 2 promo, “to find home is to find each other”. Everyone THINKS that means Carol, and on one level it does, but it will also mean Beth. Daryl and Carol will most likely find each other by episode 2. I believe Beth will be found at the back end of the season in episode 5 or 6. I totally believe episodes 1-4 or 5 will be Carol centric, but the B story that plays alongside, like variant walkers in season 1, will be the story that leads to Beth in the last couple of episodes. This whole “came back” mystery is a distraction and misdirection for who is REALLY coming back. Yes, Carol will have a secret, and it will be important, but it will also be a distraction from the real secret that will be revealed.
Now this is just my head cannon, BUT Genet likes to keep and torture people who don’t give her what she wants. We saw this with the ship captain. We see it with Cordon. What if Beth was part of a group sent to France by the CRM to work on a cure?
Again, head cannon, but what if Beth was reunited with Rick in the CRM? What is the first thing they would do? Try to escape. If they were caught, they may have separated them by putting Beth on a team going to France for walker research. Perhaps the research facility was near the Nest. That would connect Beth to that location. At some point, Beth is taken by Genet, and she is holding her captive until she agrees to work on her walker variant experiments. You will notice that her current scientist is not all that successful. Why hasn’t she gotten rid of him? She knows she has another scientist who will give her what she wants. That is why she seems so confident.
Thoughts?

The Road Ahead of Us - TWD (Season 2)
The Walking Dead Fanfiction
MASTERLIST
They had left Atlanta behind, trying to reach Fort Benning; but during an apocalypse nothing ever goes at it is planned. Sarah and Nicolette will have to face new challenges and dangers. How will they survive?
<< Previous - Next >>
Chapter 27
NICOLETTE
They didn't need that, not so soon.
The plan was perfect; Randall would have survived. Why would he risk everything right now? If they found him, they would kill him. Shane would do it without blinking an eye; he seemed eager to get rid of the guy, and now no one would oppose him.
"It's getting late," Sarah said, folding her hands as she paced the dimly lit room. The sun had disappeared, leaving the sky a deep, unsettling darkness. The familiar view had turned gloomy and creepy, haunted by memories of what had happened just the night before.
"I'm sure they'll be back soon," Patricia reassured her, moving closer and rubbing Sarah's arm in a comforting gesture.
"Maybe we should go find them," Carl suggested, his brow furrowed with concern. But Lori shook her head firmly.
"No, we're not moving," she insisted, pointing towards the stairs. "Go to Maggie's room."
"Mom, they might need our help!" Carl protested, desperation creeping into his voice. But Lori was resolute, her eyes steely.
"Go, Carl! Now!" she exclaimed, her tone leaving no room for argument. Nicki watched as Carl's lip tightened, a mix of frustration and fear flashing across his face before he trudged upstairs, the weight of uncertainty heavy on his shoulders.
Outside, the night deepened, the air thick with tension, as the house fell silent, each creak and whisper amplifying their growing dread.
"It's dark," Sarah said nervously, her voice trembling. "Daryl never follows traces in the dark; he said that!" Nicki stood up, glancing at Andrea, who moved closer to her sister, trying to convince her that they were safe. But deep down, everyone felt the tension. Nicki looked up the stairs again, took a deep breath, and made her way up. She glanced around the dim hallway before heading toward Maggie's room. When she opened the door, she found Carl by the window, poised to climb out.
"You're nothing if not predictable," Nicki said, closing the door quietly behind her.
Carl scoffed, glancing back at her. "What? Are you gonna tell my mom?"
Nicki crossed her arms defiantly. "That her son is playing Spider-Man to sneak out of the window? I'm sure she'd love that." She tilted her head, a hint of sarcasm in her tone.
"What do you want?" he asked, exhaling sharply.
Nicki shrugged. "Preventing you from breaking your neck seems like a good start."
Carl shook his head, determination etched on his face. "I have to help my dad," he insisted. Nicki studied him closely; he had always been the kind of person who wanted to help the group, but there was something different about him tonight.
"What if he'd rather have you here?" she asked, watching his reaction. He seemed more nervous, jumpy, as if the weight of the world rested on his shoulders.
"If I'm here and he dies," Carl said finally, his voice heavy with emotion, "I would never forgive myself."
Even Rick would never forgive himself if his son died trying to save him.
Nicki moved closer to Carl. "And what's the plan?" she asked. "Throw rocks at Randall?"
"I don't know yet," Carl replied, his gaze dropping to the floor.
"That doesn't sound like a good plan," she said, frowning as she kept her eyes on him.
"You don't get it," he said, shaking his head. "I have to."
She observed him silently for a moment, his eyes cast down, hidden beneath the brim of his hat, as if he didn't want her to see his pain.
"Why?" Nicki finally asked. Carl took a deep breath, his shoulders tense.
"I can't... let this happen again," he muttered, and Nicki frowned, struggling to grasp what he meant.
"What?" she pressed.
Carl sat down on Maggie's bed with a deep sigh, his frustration evident.
"Dale," he admitted at last, looking up at her. His lips quivered slightly. "It's my fault that Dale died."
How could it be his fault? A walker had killed Dale.
"Yesterday I went outside," he continued, his voice shaky. "I took Daryl's gun and found a walker. I was going to shoot it; it was stuck. But... it got free, and I... ran away." He inhaled deeply, trying to steady himself. "It was the walker that killed Dale." Nicki looked down, absorbing the weight of his words.
"It was my fault," he repeated, anguish flooding his voice. "Because I didn't do anything. I could have ended it there, but I didn't, and now Dale is dead..." He paused, gathering his thoughts. "I won't let this happen again. I want to know that I did everything I could."
Nicki felt a familiar ache in her chest. Whatever they did—or didn't do—would affect the group. She had reminded herself of that over and over since that day on the highway. Every single day. She could understand what he felt.
"Come on," she said, gesturing for him to follow her toward the door.
"What?" He looked up at her, confusion etched on his face.
"Let's be smarter," she replied, glancing into the corridor to ensure no one was watching.
"Where are we going?" he asked as he followed her, curiosity mingling with concern as they made their way toward Hershel's room.
"Out," she said, closing the door behind him. Then she moved to the window, opening it carefully. "But from a place where we won't kill ourselves." From this window, the roof was less steep, and if they were lucky, being on the opposite side of the house from the entrance might mean no one would notice them.
"We?" he asked, disbelief flickering in his eyes.
"Yeah," Nicki answered simply, determination in her voice. "Come on."
Carl stared at her, wide-eyed, and she frowned, sensing his hesitation.
"What's with that face?" she challenged, pointing toward the window. "Get your ass out."
Carl was quick to climb out of the window, making little noise as his feet hit the roof. Nicki glanced at the door before handing Carl her bow. He took it from her hands, then she climbed out the window herself. Once her feet touched the roof, Nicki turned to close the window softly.
"Alright," she said, and the two of them started to run across the roof.
"We could climb down using the porch," Carl suggested, peering over the edge. "I'll go first." Nicki nodded in agreement.
"Give me your hand," she said, reaching out to him.
"I can do it myself," he replied, ready to turn away, but she grabbed him by the hood of his shirt, stopping him in his tracks.
"I meant it when I said I'm not gonna let you break your neck," Nicki insisted. "Now man up and give me that hand."
Carl scoffed but eventually took her hand, allowing her to help him navigate down the roof. When he seemed secure enough against the wood of the porch, she let go. He managed to climb down, and once he was safely on the ground, Nicki slung her bow around her shoulders and began to descend as well. She could see a faint light flickering from inside the house. Sarah would freak out if she figured out they were gone, but maybe they would find Rick before that.
"Alright," she whispered once she was on the ground. "Let's go."
They ran toward the woods, where Rick and the others had disappeared. Surrounded by the trees, the darkness enveloped them; not even the moon helped them see where they needed to go.
"Why are you helping me?" Carl asked, keeping pace beside her.
Nicki took a breath, taking her time to answer. "I understand," she said finally, "what you were talking about..."
"Sophia?" he asked, and she nodded.
"She ran out of my sight," she admitted, her voice heavy with regret. "I didn't run after her, and she died." That moment haunted her every day since it happened, especially after learning that Sophia had turned.
"You were right when you said I'm blaming myself," she continued, her words pouring out. "I can't stop thinking about it."
"Me too," Carl muttered. Nicki glanced over at him, seeing the weight of his sorrow reflected in his eyes.
"I don't think it's your fault what happened to Dale," she said as they walked through the woods. "But it's not a good place to be... the guilt." She took a nervous breath. "It doesn't matter how many people tell me it's not my fault what happened to Sophia. I just don't believe them."
"I know what you mean," Carl replied, his voice barely above a whisper. "Both Dad and Shane said it wasn't me, but... I feel like that." He looked up to meet her gaze, and she could see that the burden of guilt weighed heavily on him, just as it did on her. It wasn't the fault itself that tormented them, but the uncertainty of what could have been if they had acted differently. Maybe nothing would have changed, or maybe everything would have. Those thoughts screamed in her mind, chaotic and relentless.
She groaned, "I hate feeling confused."
That made Carl chuckle softly. "You're a control maniac, that's why," he teased. Nicki shot him a smirk.
"And you're a constant pain in the ass," she fired back, but it only made him laugh more.
"Thank you for helping me," Carl said after a moment, sincerity in his voice. "I appreciate it." Nicki felt her lips turn up into a smile before she nudged his arm playfully.
"Don't be that nice," she said, feigning annoyance. "It creeps me out." Carl chuckled again, and for a moment, the weight of their burdens felt a little lighter.
Suddenly, a gunshot echoed across the field. Nicki brought her right hand to grab an arrow while Carl pulled out his gun.
"Did they find a walker?" Carl asked, his voice tight with tension.
"Or Randall..." she replied, glancing around. "Where did it come from?"
"The fields," Carl said, starting to run. Nicki cursed under her breath before following him. They dashed out of the woods toward the fields where Dale had lost his life. The only thing she could focus on was the silence. Why had there been only a single gunshot? If Randall had attacked, why weren't the others shooting? And if he had ambushed them, they were four people—why fire just once? A walker? Could it be possible? They had checked the perimeter that morning for any gaps in the fence.
"Nicki, do you see that?" Carl called out. In the distance, there was a figure pacing back and forth. As they got closer, they noticed someone else lying on the ground.
Only two people. But the one standing didn't look like a walker.
"That's my dad," Carl said, his voice urgent as they ran.
Nicki squinted to see better; it was indeed Rick. But why was he alone? And who was on the ground?
Nicki stopped when they were just a few meters away from Rick, who was now kneeling next to the figure. As she got closer, she realized it was Shane. Nicolette's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Dad?" Carl exclaimed, his body tense as he looked at the man on the ground. What had happened? Was Shane wounded? Was he dead?
Rick turned to them, his eyes wide with fear and sorrow. He slowly stood up and moved toward them, calling his son's name. But a movement caught Nicki's attention. It was Shane; his hand twitched. That unsettling movement made her frown. It was strange, but what happened next froze the blood in her veins. Shane was slowly getting up, growling. He was no longer Shane; he had turned into a walker.
Nicolette's body went rigid. Shane was dead. Just like Sophia. He had transformed into one of those things. She knew it—he was no longer Shane, and he was dangerous—but for some reason, her body wouldn't move.
Carl aimed his gun at Shane, tears streaming down his face. He was crying, but he still held steady.
"Just... put the gun down," Rick urged, his voice trembling with emotion.
"Rick," Nicki found herself whispering, fear creeping into her chest.
"It's not what it seems, please," Rick pleaded. Nicki frowned at his words, but before she could react, Carl pulled the trigger, hitting Shane squarely in the forehead. Shane immediately went limp, collapsing to the ground. Carl was breathing heavily, and Nicki noticed tears in his eyes as he ran to hug his father. Meanwhile, she moved toward Shane. Why hadn't she taken her arrow? He was no longer Shane; she knew that. But it was still Shane's face, his body...
Why had she hesitated?
Poor bastard, she thought. He must have been bitten while they were outside. But where was the walker? And where were Glenn and Daryl?
"Nicki, come here," Rick's voice broke through her thoughts, prompting her to turn one last time to Shane before walking toward Rick and Carl, who had gotten closer. Rick passed her by, his gaze lingering on the body of his best friend, lying motionless on the ground. Nicki moved to Carl, who looked shell-shocked, his eyes wide with disbelief. Tears streamed down his cheeks. This was the first walker he had put down, and it was someone who had cared for him. It must have been incredibly shocking.
"I'm sorry, Shorty," she muttered, placing a hand on Carl's shoulder.

Welcome to this week’s installment of Geek Girl Authority Crush of the Week. Here, we shine a spotlight on our favorite ladies in genre culture who inspire us. Our crushes range from fictional female characters in our favorite genre shows, movies and books…to women behind the scenes in geeky media.
DISCLAIMER: The following contains spoilers for The Walking Dead. If you are not caught up with the show, then you may not want to read on, but if you don’t care about spoilers either way, then continue!
Carol Peletier
Fast Facts:
Carol Peletier (played by Melissa McBride) is a survivor, a loving friend, and fierce warrior. She has set the bar high for the women of The Walking Dead. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) called Carol a “force of nature” that will do anything to protect the people she loves. Before the zombie apocalypse, Carol was timid, submissive and always apologetic. Her resiliency came from years of abuse at the hands of her husband Ed (Adam Minarovich). She tried to make a good life for her daughter Sophia (Madison Lintz), despite the circumstances. Since the world collapsed, Carol has learned to fight back against anyone who oppressed her. She has become a chameleon and a deadly ally for Team Family.
The Real Deal:
Carol’s world is dangerous, whether she’s fighting off the dead or the living. She experienced the dark side of humanity early on. She learned that people will go to great lengths for the things they want. So Carol goes to those same lengths to protect herself and her family. She also learned that losing loved ones is hard. She’s lost a husband, a daughter, an adopted son, and a couple of close friends. Though she is close to friends like Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Carol keeps her walls up to protect her heart.
Carol’s intuition gives her the ability to spot the bad people. She is adaptable to any situation, that gives her an upper hand. For example, when Team Family were practically forced to live at the Commonwealth, Carol knew immediately it was too good to be true. She found that the leaders of the community were up to no good. For the good of her family, she set out to find the secrets the leaders where hiding and expose them. It didn’t take long for Carol and Daryl to take over the Commonwealth and turn it into a truly safe community for Team Family.
A true leader, Carol is able to make the hard decisions. And is willing to carry out the hard tasks for the group. It took a her a while, but Carol learned to forgive herself for past mistakes. And to let go of regrets that she carried with her for far too long. She is a loyal friend, making sure her friends are always safe. She trusts her close friends, knowing they can take care of themselves; but keeps a close eye on them. And if a friend is in trouble, Carol will go to any lengths to help them.
Why Does She Matters:
Carol’s transition from battered housewife to stealth killer was unexpected. In a world where she should have died, Carol has defied the odds and become a great leader. At times she lost her faith in the world, in the goodness of people, and in herself. With help from her family, Carol emerged stronger and smarter.
Carol represents the bravery it takes to overcome adversity. Though she has lost much, she has gained so much more. In addition to her new family, Carol gained self awareness. She knows when to be ruthless and when to appear delicate. She battled her demons and won. There isn’t much that Carol hasn’t faced that could send her back to the frail woman she once was. Melissa McBride beams at the opportunity to play Carol. At the season nine premiere, McBride said, “I feel honored to play a character like that. To end up in a place of courage and taking initiative helping other people, finding her path or truth. I want that for everyone.”
We should all be more like Carol. Trust your gut when something doesn’t feel right, stand up for yourself and your family, and never let anyone make you feel inferior.

REGRESSION SWEEEEEP 🔥🔥🔥 (sorry for being slow w this btw<3) i wanted to ask, what would be the best outcome for rnm s7 in your opinion?? do you have an ideal version of it in your head, anything you hope is gonna play out a certain way?
Thank you for asking my beloved Kata <3 <3 <3 I always want every single RNM episode to end in murder-suicide, but other than that, here are some things I'd like to see in the new season:
an episode in which the Smith family have to reckon with the twisted relationship R & M have, and not just in a funny-haha way. You already said that Morty's basically been relegated to the wifeson/punching bag/sidekick role, and they're supposed to be a more caring family now (barf), so why not explore that? Like you said, the grooming is continuing and just being explained away as a vague sort of "ahh well at least they're trying to be better" but can we just have one real examination of what that entails.
Rick diving headfirst into revenge-fueled alcoholism and isolation and hopefully another suicide attempt <3
give Beth some airtime and have her work out why she was so desperate for her dad's love and approval that she let her son be abused by him. I think Beth's quasi-emotionally incestuous relationship with Rick is fascinating, especially in the early seasons. Again that kind of got handwaved away in later seasons like "oh well she's empowered and confident now she doesn't need him" but clearly she still does and I need to get weird with that.
no more of that meta shit
I always wonder, has Rick ever tried to have other "Mortys," aka more vulnerable people he can exploit? Were there other people/children? Did he ever try to groom Beth in the same way? I'd love to see a former "protege" of his return (maybe President Morty?) so them and Morty can have a Mysterious Skin-esque moment together
an episode with just Morty meditating on who he's become due to his grandfather. Something pretty unexplored in this show is the emotional toll it must take on a perpetually 14-year-old boy to leave school, forgo normal teen experiences, and enter into a partnership with an abusive older man. His childhood is gone. How does he actually feel about that?
additionally it would be interesting to see how Summer feels about how her own adolescence has been drastically changed to serve her grandfather. I always like episodes where the power dynamic changes between her and Morty, where she's the more powerful/desireable one to Rick - but it's been established that Summer isn't "bred for forgiveness" the way her brother is, so how does she feel about that as well?
oh and WHAT HAPPENED TO MARTA... what happened to the rebellious side of Morty that Rick literally erased from existence??? I waited for two seasons to see that come back but it never did and I doubt it ever will but PLEASE can we get some closure on that
Of course I expect none of that to happen and we get 10 episodes of goofy meaningless adventures with a sprinkle of Rick going to therapy (barf) and maybe a wacky plotline with Rick Prime, but whatever, the show that exists inside my and your head is what really matters.

𝙳𝚊𝚢𝚜 𝙶𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝙱𝚢 (𝙿𝚝 𝟷)
Rick Grimes walks down the road to find some gasoline that he can use to continue his ride to Atlanta. He comes upon a house.
"Hello? Police officer out here. Can I borrow some gas? Hello?" Rick makes it to the door and knocks "Hello? Anybody home?" Rick looks inside and sees two dead bodies with flies buzzing around them, white sheets covering them. There is a message on the wall written in blood saying, "God Forgive Us". Rick moves back in disgust before walking away and sitting down on the porch. He turns his head to see a truck and stands before a cock of a shotgun breaks the silence.
"Who the hell are you?" They speak. Rick goes to turn around, his hands up, only for the shotgun to be pressed harder "I won't repeat myself”.
"I'm just heading to Atlanta to find my wife and son, and my car ran out of gasoline. I saw this place and the truck and was going to take some of the gasoline and continue to make my way to Atlanta" The shotgun cocks again and it’s pulled away from Rick's back, he places his hands down "Thank you" Rick turns around to see a girl, no older than 20. Her brown hair reaches her shoulders, complimenting her hazel eyes.
"We're heading that way too. Tryin' to find my dad and uncle" The girl walks over to the truck.
"We?” He questions with a confused look. She opens the truck and kneels on the seat, looking over the passenger seat to the back.
"It's okay, he's friendly" Rick looks through the window to see a little boy, no older than 11, pop his head from around the passenger seat, and gives Rick a little wave, Rick returns it and smiles.
"Hey there, hope I didn't scare you" The boy shakes his head and jumps into the passenger seat. The girl steps out the truck and leans against it, arms crossed.
"This truck has been bled dry; you aren’t getting any gasoline" Rick looks over the young girl.
"You two here alone?" He asks. The girl hesitantly nods "How old are you?"
"18, he's 11"
"And you've survived on your own?"
"Yes" She pauses "Why do you sound surprised? My dad taught me everything I need to know; I can look after myself and the kid”.
"What's your names, kid?" The girl glares at him. The boy looks between them, confusion across his face.
"I'm far from a kid."
"My name's Rick Grimes. Can I know yours?" The girl stays silent "Come on, your alone, I'm alone. We're both going the same way. If we want to help each other out, we need to trust each other" There's a long pause as the girl looks Rick up and down before she sighs.
"Y/N. Y/N Dixon" Rick nods and looks to the boy. The boy hesitates before looking at Y/N, who nods.
"Danny Scotts', Mr Sherriff" Rick nods and smiles
"Thank you. Now, introductions are out the way. We need to figure out a way to get to Atlanta, any ideas?" Y/N turns her head to stare out into the stable. Rick and Danny follow her gaze to see two horses. Rick and Y/N share a look and she shrug. Later, the two enter the stable, Y/N sitting Danny on the fence, and Rick walks over to the brown horse, as Y/N makes her way to the Cream coloured horse. The brown horse gets startled by Rick's movement, as the Cream horse stays put.
"Easy now, easy. I'm not gonna hurt you. Nothing like that. More like a proposal. Atlanta's just down the roadways. It's safe there. Food, shelter, people, other horses too, I bet" Rick gets closer to the horse "How's that sound?" Rick wraps the harness around the horse "There we go. Good boy. Good boy. Good boy. Now come with me" Rick looks over at Y/N, and sees her stroking her horses head, a harness around its neck "You done this before?" She shakes her head.
"Nope. Guess I'm just a fast learner”.
"Come on. Come on. Come on. Good boy" Rick says, leading the horse out of the stable. Danny jumps off the fence and goes over to Y/N, holding her hand. The two then follow Rick, the cream horse trailing besides them.
==
After being saddled up the three get onto the horses, Danny getting boosted on by Rick. "Remember, don't slouch when riding the horse and be gentle with the reins" Rick says, showing her. Y/N sits up straight and grabs the reins gently.
"Like this?" She asks. Rick nods.
"Perfect" he says.
"Won't I fall off if I haven't got anything to hang onto?" Danny asks, peeking his head from around Y/N.
"Just hang onto Y/N tightly okay, you won't fall of" Rick says, looking at the young boy. Danny grips onto the sides of Y/N's jacket tightly, pulling himself closer "Ready?" The two nods at the man.
"As I'll ever be" she says and the three then ride their horses down the fields and towards the city.
==
They eventually get to the outskirts of Atlanta. One side of the highway is empty while the other side of the hight way is packed with several cars that have been wrecked or abandoned. Rick and Y/N share a look, while Danny peeks his head around the girl, looking at the city. They then proceed to ride down the empty side of the highway to enter Atlanta.
==
They ride into the city and along the streets. They see that the streets are abandoned and there is trash everywhere. Rick and Y/N leads the horses down the street where there are helicopters, cars, and even a tank wrecked along the road. They ride past a bus and some walkers see them. The walkers get up and starts to walk towards the three. Rick and Y/N aren't fazed but Danny and the horses get startled.
"Whoa. Steady. There's just a few" Rick says "Nothing we can't outrun."
"Just keep ya head down Danny" Y/N says and Danny does so, closing his eyes and gripping her jacket tighter. The three rides past the walkers and goes to ride down the street. Y/N looks up on the tank and sees a dead body that is being pecked at by crows "Gross" They ride past the tank before stopping, hearing a helicopter. Rick looks at the glass building and sees the reflection of the helicopter.
"Hyah!" Rick says and goes off riding down the road.
"Hold on tight, Danny. Hyah!" Y/N and Danny follow. They start to ride in the direction of the helicopter, but when they turn at the corner, there's a big group of walkers. The horses get startled, gaining the attention of the walkers.
"Fuck!" They ride back down the street they came from. only for another huge group of walkers to appear. The three struggle to get away, but the walkers surround them and begin clawing at the horses. Danny screams and flails his legs around, kicking some of the walkers. Rick falls off the horse onto the ground. Y/N jumps off her horse, onto the tank next to her. She then quickly grabs onto Danny's backpack and pulls him with her. He instantly holds onto her sides, stuffing his face into her side. The walkers begin clawing and biting into the horses.
"Rick!" She shouts. Rick notices he dropped his gun bag. He crawls underneath the tank while walkers still try to catch him. He hears shotgun shots and screams from above him.
"Y/N! Danny!" The bangs and screams stop "Danny! Y/N!" Rick crawls further under the tank "Oh god. Oh god" The walkers crawl under the tank and Rick shoots some with his Colt Python. "Lori, Carl, I'm sorry" Rick prepares to use the last bullet on himself, before hearing gun shots again. He opens his eyes to see Y/N, sticking her head out from the hatch above him, shooting walkers with a small handgun.
"Hurry up and get in here!" Rick quickly crawls up. Y/N continues to shoot before her handgun runs out of bullets "Shit!" She quickly puts her head back into the tank and closes it. She looks over at Rick, who's leaning against the wall, breathing heavily.
"You. You saved my life" he says. Y/N sits back against the side of the tank, Danny quickly shuffles into her shoulder and sniffles.
"Well, you have a wife and son to get back to" she says, moving Danny's head into her shoulder. Rick then sees the dead soldier in the tank.
"Oh...god" He takes the soldier's gun, but he's a walker. Rick uses the last bullet in his Python to shoot him through the head. The sound of the bullet in the enclosed space hurts Rick's ears.
He hears the muffled voice of Y/N, who's sat Infront of him. He lays on the ground, still out of it. He looks over at Danny, who is holding his hands over his ears. Then he sees Y/N look up at the top hatch. She takes off her bag, setting it down besides Danny. She steps on the seat and looks outside. She sees that Rick's bag of guns is lying in the street way out of her reach. The rest of the walkers start to converge on the tank to get at her. Y/N shuts the hatch before they can get her. She gets down to see Rick and Danny, who's still looking away from the dead soldier, looking at her. She shakes her head in defeat.
"Surrounded" Rick looks around the tank, seeming very disheartened. He notices that the Soldier's gun is loads and thinks about taking his own life, as well as Y/N's and Danny's. Y/N goes back to Danny and pulls him into a side hug, gently stroking his hair back. They sit in silence for what seems like hours before the radio in the tank starts to make static sounds. A voice on the other end starts talking. They look over at the radio.
"Hey, you three. Dumbasses. Yeah, you three in the tank. Are you cozy in there?" The voice says. Rick and Y/N share a look, whole Danny looks hopeful, realizing that they’re not alone.

Siancore...Siancore...darling. I think its unfair for you to want someone to pick ONE of your stories. For me that list is very long but I was able to dwindle it down to 3. Can I just say - you have a gift of filling up a story with complete vulnerability and potency (if that makes sense). Your writing is very captivating and these are those that really gained my attention and stories I still go back to, even now.
The Dusk of Memory - Now I love angst and you fed a me with the angst for this one. Rick losing his memory, lori taking advantage of this situation, Michonne filled with self doubt. Sheesh you killed yet healed my heart for this one. Especially when Rick started remembering little memories of their time together.
This ain’t Georgia - Imagine if The Walking Dead started off differently....Rick and Michonne WERE married and the outbreak started". This one holds dear to my heart due to you giving me an a view of how things would go (no ill to Lori) if Rick was married to Michonne. I know its not finished (forgive me if this is wrong) but this is the one I am definitely going to go back to when the their side show for Rick and Michonne hits on TV cus that reunion scene in this story. Trying to remember it now, I KNOW I WAS CRYING! when rick asked to see his son....
Under Her Watch - Okay...I am so happy to be in another fandom with you. I need you to know how much weight this holds with me. Recalling when I saw your first post about Okoye and Attuma....my gosh! I love Attuma! I love Okoye! I love that fight scene! Their energy in that film lit something in me. Two characters who deserve love! (also The Warrior's Accord series)
Honorable Mentions: Warm & Four Walls
I love your writing and how you drive the essence of the characters. Content from movies/tv shows give us so little and what you take from that is remarkable. Your writing really speaks of yourself that makes me feel closer to you than I really am. let me stop cus I could talk great things about you for days.....💚💚💚
Oh my heart this is so amazing. Thank you for his detailed feedback. Goodness, there are fics of mine here I haven't thought of in ages. I feel so bad about not looking at them in so long, but I am floored that you still enjoy these stories.
I will have a new Richonne one-shot posted for Danai's birthday/Valentine's Day, so I hope that makes it up to you for my not editing TAG -- it's in my drafts, I've just been shit. Ha! Seriously, I have the next chappie in my drafts and haven't felt motivated to open the document. Hearing from you now is making me want to get back to it.
Now, Okoye and Attuma? I fricken love them, too. And it's nice to be in a new ship fandom with people from your other ship fandom. I know I'm safe here :')
Now, I am gonna implode because of your kind words about my writing. That's so special what you've said here, and I never even thought about it that way: That you feel closer to me because of the way I place pieces of myself in the way I write characters. I didn't even realise I was doing that. I just love who I love and want to do the best that I can to do justice to their characterisations.
This Ask has really encouraged me to go back and look at my old fics. Thank you for that. And thank you for the immense love and support. I am feeling it right now. I hope everything is going well for you x
P.S. Another fic in The Warriors' Accord series is coming soon. Very soon.

morgann how are you enjoying hoo? any miscellaneous thoughts? that percabeth snippet you shared sent me right back into middle school 😭 i remember actually not minding rick’s third person writing, and enjoying it when it seem to be a problem for other people. honestly my qualms with the series was the plot but it did give me son of neptune so!!!
very big agree. i actually prefer third person!!! also im on the TOA 😭😭😭 i finished the original pjo and HOO in like a week LMAO i kinda wish RR had kept it 3rd person for TOA. anyway so im just going to use this ask to word vomit everything that struck out to me rereading the HOO series
nico has skyrocketed to my top 3 favorite characters in this reread. i sympathized with him feeling like an outcast who doesn't belong to camp jupiter or camp halfblood. he's even stranded from the time period he was born in. i just think he deserves the world and happiness!!!! especially since he got so much flack from other people. like don't get me wrong i do think part of it was nico's own attitude of assuming the worst that got in the way of making friends but also. he's the youngest of all of them. and he's suffered unimaginable horrors. at least percabeth had each other when they were stuck in tartarus 😭 he is the saddest character to me. mom dead. lives out 70 years of his life in a magic casino. sister dies. tries to talk to mom and/or sister. neither or them answer him. makes one betrayal that he later regrets. except percy doesn't really forgive him even though he's plays a huge role in winning the titan war. figures out he's gay which is just another reason he'll be ostracized. goes to tartarus. gets put in a jar and almost dies. the seven have to debate on whether or not it's worth it to save him :/ gets outed by cupid. and that's literally not even half of it. i love him SO much. he can do no bad in my eyes. that's my son.
speaking of nico. his relationship progression with hades >>>> i do think RR somewhat changed some of it to make hades into a better dad. but i actually think hades has a better relationship with nico than poseidon does with percy. like i think ppl forget that nico actually goes to the underworld on a regular basis and eats dinner with his dad and extended family lmfao. hades also gave nico a zombie chauffeur AND told him that he'd prepare a room in his palace in case nico dies 😭 hades is just that Parent i guess
THERE'S NO ANNABETH ATHENA CONFLICT RESOLUTION AT ALL which i personally find annoying. i wish we had like one scene of annabeth with athena at the end of HOO. athena tells annabeth she's a failure of a daughter and basically curses her into retrieving the athena parthenos. she SUCCEEDS but falls into tartarus. they fight together but i need an APOLOGY from athena.
SON percabeth reuniting kiss scene is the scene of all time to me. nothing will come close to annabeth and percy making out and then annabeth judo flipping percy onto the ground. your favs could never.
jason jason jason jason jason....jason is MY greek tragedy. there's a reason why i think nico and jason work really well together and it's because they both know what it feels like to be untethered. nico is an outsider. jason has to choose between camp halfblood and camp jupiter. that scene where the skeleton's don't listen to him because they don't acknowledge him as praetor is such a full circle scene i loved it
also jason is the second most tragic character to me. he grew up without really knowing he was. his life belonged to hera before he could even live it. then she goes further by manipulating his memories so he can be a pawn in the war. i just think there's an inherent goodness to jason like there is to percy. he deserved a long fulfilling life :/
also. nico not being able to find jason's soul in the underworld. ouch.
i like leo despite ppl's opinions on him being annoying. i think leo's life is super sad and ppl forget that. every time there's a one liner from him about how he used to be homeless and sleep in the streets i feel so bad for him 😭😭😭
i hate leo and calypso im sorry. i dislike calypso but i would dislike her less had RR not paired them up together. love her attitude! do not love her relationship with a 16 year old. besides i don't even think they like each other 😭 (side note i feel soooo bad for leo in TOA when he talks about how his relationship with calypso and how he basically puts the onus of their relationship on himself :( he really deserves more than calypso nagging at him for being the person she supposedly fell for HE WENT BACK FOR HER!)
percabeth....there are no words to explain how much i love percabeth. they have cemented themselves as That couple. the IT couple. i do wish RR wasn't so obsessed with pairing ppl off in romantic relationships. but percabeth is perfect to me. percy literally worships the ground she walks on. and annabeth needs the levity that is percy. like im sorry they just complete each other. percy literally goes to HELL because he won't let her go alone. im sorry ur favs could quite literally NEVER.
nico and hazel's relationship is something very special to me.
so is nico and reyna's relationship.
so is nico and jason's
anyway you get it.
i rlly like how everyone just straight up acknowledges percabeth is the superior couple.
really wish we got a couple of scenes about the aftermath of HOO especially the relationships between the gods and their kids....i think it ended a little too abruptly!!!!
#i would love to write a percy / jason parallels analysis but i actually think they're more dissimilar than they are similar#and ppl rlly do jason's character an injustice by comparing him to percy i think jason has his own merits that shine through#pjo posting

☕ - Do you prefer coffee or tea? Perhaps neither, or both?
I prefer coffee. I like it iced. I can drink it warm/hot, but I would rather have iced. As for tea, I find it tastes bitter no matter how much sugar you put in it. So I just don't drink it as I don't care for it.
☠ - Do you think you’d survive a zombie apocalypse?
The outcome is not likely. LOL.
☺ - Post a picture of yourself or describe what you look like!
Under the read more at the bottom.
⚽ - Are you active?
Not really.
⛄ - Do you have a favourite holiday?
Halloween. I love dressing up.
♫ - Do you listen to music when you write? If yes, what kind of music, if no, why not?
Yeah. Most of the time I do listen to music. I will just put on my likes list from Spotify. I might click a genre and listen to those or just skip the songs I'm not feeling. I rarely put it on shuffle. I have no idea why though.
☤ - Have you ever had to go to the emergency room? Why?
I have. I had a bad tooth infection. It was on New Year's Eve, and I ended up getting a huge dose of antibiotics in a shot and then ended up having an allergic reaction to it. My blood pressure spiked while in there, and until it went down, they wouldn't let me leave.
♪ - Do you play any instruments?
No. But I would have loved to learn how to play the piano.
⚖ - Opinions on the fandom your muse belong to?
It's been awhile since I was in this fandom but I remember it being chill and welcoming. Better than some fandoms that I've been in.
♿ - Is there anything about your body you’d like to change if given the chance?
Possibly the size of it.
✂ - Do you hate people easily?
Not at all. But when my gut tells me someone isn't good, there's usually proof of that somewhere along the line.
✼ - Do you think the character/characters you role play as reflect who you are?
Not really. I mean, sure, some of them have somethings the same as me, but nowhere near enough to be a reflection.
⚄ - Do you play videogames? Have a favourite?
Yes. I love to play Super Mario Bros. And Kirby. Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
✵ - Are there any other fandoms you’d like to approach?
I wish there were more roleplayers in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and The 100.
⚜ - If you role play more then one muse, do you have a favourite?
I do. It would be a tie between Carol Peletier and Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead.
⛔ - In real life, are you friendly?
I like to think I am, yes.
⨁ - Do you hold grudges, or easily let things go?
It really depends on the situation. I can forgive, but I will never forget the thing that was done to me.
♥ - Besides fictional characters, is there someone you love?
Absolutely. My family, for sure. That would be my son, my Mom, and my husband and my brothers and sisters and my cousins and extended family but those three listed first are my favorite people.

Central. USA.

“no-one wants you when you have no heart” / maggie to negan
some meme || @nghtmarish
💥⋆。˚⁀➷ IT STUNG MORE THAN IT SHOULD HAVE... He would have winced if she wasn't look directly at him. He chooses to stay silent for that very moment. NEGAN KNEW JUST HOW MUCH MAGGIE LOATHED HIM, IT CONSUMED HER VERY SOUL.... the sight of him, the air he shared with her. That hatred she held for him. Could you blame her ? He really couldn't.... he knew he took a big part away from her, and her son. He couldn't bring Glenn back no matter how badly he wished he could go back and tell OLD NEGAN not to. At the same time, he probably would have told OLD NEGAN to kill them all. They are all trying to survive after all. He was protecting his people, just like Rick and them were protecting their own. Even if that meant you had to be a sadistic asshole to get your way, SO FUCKING BE IT. They've all killed, they all have blood on their hands.... they've all lost someone. Glancing down at Maggie, eyes slightly narrowed.
He shakes his head in disagreement... yes he fucked up, yes he killed, yes he is a fucking nut-job. BUT... no matter the many killings he did, no matter the tortures... no matter how FAR HE HAS GONE.... that didn't change the fact that behind all that was a man who held a HEART that was far gone.... but still there trying to find a reason to BEAT AGAIN. Find a REASON to have BLOOD coursing through his veins, give his heart some type of FUCKING reaction. Make him feel something other than rage & loneliness ! Negan scoff's. ❝ What do you want from me, huh ? Don't yeh think this old dance of ours is gettin' out of hand... Maggie ? I get it... you FUCKING hate the shit outta me, I get that. I took away the most important person in your life. And it fuckin' sucked. You and I... we're more alike than you think. I lost someone who meant the world to me.... was... is... the reason why I'm still FIGHTING this fight. I can't take back what I did.... you don't have to forgive me. I get that. I ain't askin' you to forgive me. ❞ THE ONCE LEADER PAUSES, TONGUE DARTING TO WET HIS LIPS. He sure as hell doesn't have an issue talking, could talk for hours in fact. But his mouth feels dry when around Maggie. As much as Maggie wants to ignore it... the two of them make one hell of a badass team together. She'll deny it till the day he dies of course. She's clouded have heat, and sees nothing but red.... but Negan, he sees clearly between the two of them. They've spent some time together... NOT that Maggie wanted to but because he was part of her team on some of the missions helping them out however he could. He's just doing his part, that's it. But fuck, there is something brewing between them and Negan can't help what he fucking feels... and it's fucked up. IT IS FUCKED UP.... what this feeling is... whatever it is.... it's fucked up because he killed her husband. It should be forbidden. But he's fucking human, and his dick has feelings too. He steps closer to Maggie. Eyes never once leave her, the sound of leaves breaking underneath heavy boots. He doesn't dare close the distance between since he knew Maggie would take that moment to stab him in the neck or some shit. He ain't dumb. But he keeps her at arms length. READING the expression on her features.
❝ It's scary, ain't it ? Just how much I live in that pretty lil' heads of yours. Your on my mind too, Maggie. I don't try to think 'bout you, If I'm being honest.... you just... happen to be there. All. The. Fucking. Time. And I don't know if that's a good thing... or bad thing, for me that is. You say.... I got no heart, but that's far from the fuckin' truth. Like I said, I fucked up and I can't do shit about what past me did. But you ain't no saint either let's get that shit straight. Got it ? You and I... we are two peas in a motherfucking pod. My heart... ❞ Negan pats on his chest above where his heart should be, learning down ever so slightly, not enough to be in her face, but to tower over her. ❝... It's fuckin' there. If I didn't give a shit I wouldn't be helpin'. I would have left your ASS to the walkers along ass time ago. But I didn't, did I ? I did my part by kissin' your ass, dealin' with your lil' sly comments towards me. I dealt with all that cause hell I do fuckin' care in my own fuckin' way. We are only human, Maggie. We are only tryin' to get outta of this world ALIVE and to grow fuckin' old and die naturally. That's it. It's you and me alone right now.... I could kill you If I wanted... but I'm not gonna. I wanna see you make it out alive... because damn girl, you got some lady balls and I respect that. There's somethin' here... whether we like it or not. There is. And even with all that shitty feelings you got inside of you... you got a heart too. I know it's harden cause of what I did... but it's there. ❞

Duckie & Cricket’s Midwestern Dumbassery: #36
Ice: you have to pick your battles.
Slider: one of the battles that we picked was to stop Wolfie and Wood from running plastic tubes all over the basement and placing hamsters inside of them.
Goose: they were gonna call it Tube City.
Leo: hey mom.
Wood: hello my wonderful and most amazing mother.
Mav: ma! How are ya?
Goose: mom! :D
Ruth: *sighs loudly*
Leo:
Wood:
Mav:
Goose:
Ruth: hello my darlin’ sons.
The flyboys: !!!!!! :D
Wood: I wish I had a super tight-knit group of friends that I could fight crime with.
Wolfie: I wish I had a super tight-knit group of friends that I could commit crime with.
Chipper: I wish I had a super tight-knit group of friends.
Sprawl: I wish I had friends.
Merlin: I wish I could knit.
Wolfie: if I ate one Tidepod do you think it would kill me?
Wood: coward. eat two.
Ice & Slider: *rushing to stop them* what the fuck what The Fuck WHAT THE FUC——!
Leo: *says some shit in french during a fight*
Crick: OH NO DO NOT FRENCH ME RIGHT NOW, I DONT WANT YOU TO LOOK HOT WHILE IM TRYING TO BE MAD AT YOU.
Leo: *lowers his voice and swears in french towards Crick*
Crick: *giggles and blushes* okay I forgive you.
Duckie: okay, I’ve got a box. and we’re gonna put this things we love inside the box.
Leo: can I put Jack and Busch in the box?
Duckie: no.
Crick: can I put Jack and Busch in the box?
Duckie: no.
Rick: can I-
Duckie: no one can put the dogs in the box!!
Leo: *running into the barn* DUCKIE-
Duckie: *whispering* SHHH!! mana is sleeping.
Leo: *also whispering* oh sorry.
Duckie: *still whispering* what’s up?
Leo: *whispering calmly* there’s a fire.
Leo: I came up with a brilliant idea for a prank.
Crick: oooh, what is it?
Leo: we should kiss.
Crick: … I don’t get it.
Leo: think about it! Imagine Duckie or Daisy to come to the barn only to find us kissing the hell outta each other. You can sit in my lap and we’ll really just go to town. Duckie will be like ‘WHAAAAAAA’ and Daze might even faint!
Crick: oh, that’s hilarious! We totally should.
Duckie: *standing up from the table*
Daisy: what are you doing?
Duckie: *walking to the other table* leaving.
Duckie: *sits between Pretty Boy and Leo*
Chatter: you fucking dick!
Duckie: *pointing at Pretty Boy* his dick to be exact, but yeah thank you for noticing.
[leo & crick in the barn’s hayloft, kissing]
Tee: *climbs the ladder to the top and stops* LEONARD, I OH HI MANA, I JUST SAW RICK AND BAY AND THEY WERE KISSING AND— *realizes*
Tee: *shocked*
Leo: TK
Crick:
Leo: Tee, I can explain-
Tee:
Tee: MY LITTLE SISTER?! *screams at Leo*
Tee: *turns to Leo* REALLY MANA? MY BEST FRIEND?!
Crick: Travis-
Tee: Oh god. My biological and non-biological siblings. Ewww, that really sounds gross. *whines*
Tee: *mumbles as he leaves* both my sisters, I caught both of them kissing stupid pilots. how could this day get any worse?
Leo: sooo. wanna get back to it?
Crick: I thought you’d never ask.
Leo: *breaks the kiss* wait, did he say that Duckie was kissing Rick?
Crick: I think so, why? *scrunches eyebrows*
Leo: *scurrying to his feet* THAT BASTARD!!
Leo: *goes down ladder and runs off to where he last seen Rick*
Crick: *fixes hair and clothes* I guess I better go too.

KNOWING...Who God Is
To know something or to know how to do something means that we possess the information in our heads, but it doesn't mean we can explain it, understand it, or even believe in it. We all have information in our heads and our wealth of knowledge expands with each passing day.
Did you know that a giraffe's saliva is actually an antiseptic that helps protect its tongue when eating from the thorn laden acacia trees? True. It is great knowledge, but aside from knowing this fact, it will serve me no purpose in life, as I have no plan of being a future safari guide! 🦒
However, the knowledge that I process about my Creator - the same awesome Creator Who fashioned the giraffe's tongue so it would not get an infection when eating - is knowledge that has formed and continues to grow my beliefs and spiritual well-being! I know that He is good. I know that He loves me. I know that He cares for me. I know that He forgives me. I know that He gave His only Son Jesus to pay the penalty for my sin. Over the next few entries I'll be giving you a brief snapshot for what your child can know. This knowledge you can impart to them, and through prayer, guidance, and the help of the Holy Spirit, you can help them grow that knowledge into belief. For this entry, you can see the progression of what they can KNOW about WHO GOD IS -see Chart below for your child's age grouping.
AGES 0-4:
God exists
God loves you
Jesus loves you
God wants to take care of you
AGES 5-6:
God is your loving Father who wants to guide, teach, love, protect, & provide for you.
You are made in God's image and in some ways are like Him - He has thoughts and feelings and He can understand You. Jesus showed us what God is like!
Jesus loves you
God wants to take care of you
AGES 7-9:
You can be sure God is real
There is only 1 God
God exists in 3 Persons: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit
God lasts forever
Jesus is both God and Man
Nothing exists apart from God
God's character is true, loving, compassionate, generous, selfless, forgiving, trustworthy, faithful, just, impartial, & holy
AGES 10-12:
Not everyone believes the truth about God, but there are ways you can respond to their objections
