2016 Year in Review!

A few days late, I’ll admit, but here I’m rounding up all the facts about UC Photography from 2016!

Followers: 

Let’s start of with one of the biggest surprises for me from this year, the blog’s Follower Count! When I first made this little side-blog for my Gunpla photos, I never imagined surpassing a few dozen, but boy, was I sure wrong in the best way!

From Jan 2016, ~80+ followers From Dec 2016, 213 followers!

As of writing this update, the blog actually gained three more followers since then, bringing the new year’s total up to 216! I can’t thank you all enough for this and I can only hope you’ll enjoy what is to come in the new year!

Been a while since I finished a Gunpla. It's an RGM-79FP GM Striker in HG scale.

Found an ebay seller who does free shipping and <$20CAD HGUC’s, so I picked up the following:

RX-78-2 Gundam (35th Anniversary Revive)

Needless to say that, while this does nothing to eliminate the underlying causes of my stress, this is gonna be a very welcome distraction.

Plus, I mean, I’ll have a nice little GM squad and, of course, another Best Mobile Suit (I have an MG RX-78-2 Gundam ver. 2.0 kit, as well as a busted - and, thus, being used in A Bao A Qu last stand pose - ver. 1.0 kit, and they’re awesome)

This gundam paper model is RGM-79FP GM Striker, a ground close-quarters combat mobile suit and variation of the RGM-79 GM (aka GM, Jim), the papercraft is created by Dark Angel, and shared by yenc. RGM-79FP GM Striker was featured in the original design series Harmony of Gundam, the manga series Mobile Suit Gundam: We're Federation Hooligans!! and its sequel manga series Mobile Suit Gundam Katana.

A close-combat variant of the RGM-79C GM Type C, the GM Striker features heavy armor that can withstand most light weapons used by Zeon mobile suits. The GM Striker focuses on close combat with only a standard 100mm machine gun to engage in range combat. For melee combat, however, it has a choice between a standard beam saber, a spike shield, and a long twin beam spear that was based on the RX-78-2 Gundam's beam javelin. The reach of the twin beam spear makes it very effective counter to the MS-07B Gouf's heat rod. It features improved thrusters on the legs with higher output to increase its combat capabilities.
