Reflexive Verbs
If the subject in a sentence performs an action on itself, then the verb is considered to be reflexive, and the pronoun used to receive the action is reflexive.
The singular reflexive pronouns are: me (myself), te (yourself), and se (yourself (formal), himself, herself).
The plural reflexive pronouns are: nos (ourselves), os (yourselves - informal Spain), and se (yourselves, themselves).
Example:
Yo me baño.
I bathe myself.
If there is already a conjugated verb before the reflexive verb, then you add the pronoun at the end of the reflexive verb.
Example:
Yo voy a bañarme.
I’m going to bathe myself.

Video
Reflexive verbs got the love on Friday, now, that's a huge subject for a tidbit so I made this one minute videobit on where to place the reflexive pronoun. For a longer and more detailed explanation of what reflexive verbs are and how they are used in Spanish, you can download from my website the 13 page bookbit "Introducing Reflexive Verbs" which also includes a brief introduction on direct and indirect object pronouns that some of you wanted to know more about. I also started a spreadsheet where I included the questions you had this past Friday, I'll keep adding the votes every Friday to see what our next Monday post will be about. Hope you have a great start to your week. Hasta pronto Debbie #spanishtidbits #lovequestions #learnspanish #reflexiveverbs #pronouns #spanishclass #learn #practice
