A collection of Amanda Young’s outfits (PT 1)

As the title states, this is just all the outfits I can source from Amanda Young from the franchise but also any game adaptation too. This will be broken into parts because of the image limit.

1.) The Reverse Bear Trap (RBT) outfit

One of her most iconic and recognisable fits. She has a purple tank top with matching sleeves to go alongside, presumably kept in place by the pink bands on her upper arms? Amanda in this wears a black skirt with ripped fish nets and kinda shiny boots- Other things include the eye makeup, nail polish and the only time we ever see her have the clawing panther tattoo on her shoulder.

2.) Rockstar outfit

I've generalised this as the ROCKSTAR outfit- Because this specific shirt comes up a few times, not just in that cut scene. It seems there is actually two shirts? The blue graphic one on top and a grey one underneath. Amanda's hair and jackets change! There is the light grey jacket and then the black one and even things like how heavy her makeup is are different... The main place we see this look is when she is setting up Adam for his game. Of course she has boots on as always and I guess I'd call the jeans she has on cuffed? One extra is she has a watch on.

3.) Junkie outfit

BECAUSE I WAS A FUCKING JUNKIE!!! Anyway, with this I had to brighten the image to see what the design on the tank top was... From there I went, ''I think I've seen this before...'' And yeah, I had- Shawnee Smith has worn this logo a few times, so that's why I've added the last two images for a clearer reference. Amanda here looks quite gaunt and sickly and we can't see the rest of this outfit such as trousers.

4.) Visitor outfit

I'll dub this the Visitor outfit because of the badge of course- I would say this likely is Amanda's most simple outfit? Black shirt and skirt. The most striking thing about this look is the RBT scars she has... It's also one of the only times outside of Saw 3 we see Amanda with a ponytail! I can't lie when looking at her hair here, it almost looks two toned in places such as the side burns? Almost grey in parts? (Edit: This may be a dress actually.)

5.) The Red Pig outfit

This is my personal favourite when it comes to her in movie pig looks. She has a red coat/cloak which the length goes all the way down to her boots- Looking there I think the lower half from seeing the cuffed like jeans is probably the exact same as her Rockstar outfit. Her eye makeup is heavily smudged and the mask itself in my opinion is one of the best shaped pig masks, with what seems to be ''blood'' coming out of the eye sockets and black slash brunette hair.

6.) Bow Dress/Clinic outfit

This scene and the follow up is so depressing but she's so cutesy here- It's a simple black dress, but the bow is very Amanda. I have no clue whether the shoes she has on in the first image are actually apart of the outfit or just something Shawnee had on whilst testing it out. 7.) News Report/Scott Tibbs outfit

May be my overall favourite Amanda outfit.... She has on a grey hoodie jacket, possibly another article of clothing from her Rockstar outfit? Her iconic skull sweatpants with a belt and then boots that I would say are more akin to her RBT outfit. I can't really tell if the shirt she has got on is layers or just has different materials- Amanda's RBT scars are also very visible in this look.

8.) Suffocation outfit

At first I started doing these as two separate outfits? One for when she kills Adam, the other for when she wakes up from her nightmare- However, I'm pretty sure this is the same outfit through and through. Amanda has on a long sleeved orange shirt with a grey tanktop over it. The jacket is leather with noticeable silver studs and she has on cargo type trousers and as always... Boots.

9.) Nightmare outfit

Another personal favourite! Once again we get to see the skull pants and this is how I was able to gage the material a bit better. I honestly have no clue how to describe the specific items of clothing she has on her upper half? A corset type shirt going on? Details I enjoy are the safety pins around the shoulder and bottom half and she has a watch on.

10.) Saw X outfit

I decided to not have this pig look separate. Anyway! This is Amanda's most recent outfit with Saw X having come out in 2023.... Simple grey t-shirt alongside cargo trousers with a belt. The boots she's got on are very combat/work like and Amanda also has a black choker and earrings here- Her coat/cloak is black with red detailing such as the cuffs and the inner lining.

Saw VI drops a lot of hints that Hoffman isn't really in the know about why the subjects in the main game were chosen. He has to ask Jill who these people are, and there are a lot of scenes of him staring thoughtfully at the pictures he sets up around his control room, as if he's trying to piece something together.

So, basically, what I'm wondering is, did Hoffman not know about the Pamela Jenkins and William Easton twist? Did John really want Hoffman's possible last thoughts before being tested (or possibly executed, depending on how you interpret the RBT 2.0) to be about how he just facilitated the murder of a brother in front of his sister?

Ok but listen:

Hoffman saw John testing his most loyal apprentice for the second time. His shotgun chair was barely a test but a way for the sick man to restrain Mark while explaining how John is going to blackmail him into being an apprentice.

Amanda kept asking when's his test.

He gets the tape message that he'll be tested from John himself. After that it's been 3 months and then Jill surprises him when he's super busy with the zoo trial and FBI investigation.

Besides, Hoffman lived in the refurbished nerve gas house for some time between October 2005 and July 2006 ABOVE THE BATHROOM. And he has been in the bathroom and knew about it since Saw X for sure. He built his glass coffin trap like in the next room in the tunnels.

And after burning FBI agents and Jill's RBT he was in hiding for 8 months, using different Jigsaw's workshops and houses, I'm sure.

I don't believe Hoffman was stupid or arrogant enough to not to prepare in any way, especially knowing how Kramer's mind works. Why wouldn't he hide some lockpicks and tools in different corners of some SPECIAL places? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Below the read more is a list of every reference contained in his design:

Unclothed version:

-multiple spirals present, particularly his horns, eyes, stomach marking, and shiba-like tail [his horns in particular are supposed to be a stand-in for Billy's cheek spirals]

-white face like Billy, but I didn't want to go with a full white head, so it's just his face

-scars on his mouth replicating the scar Hoffman gained from the RBT, but mirrored because I dislike asymmetry, and smaller because I didn't wanna copy the scar exactly

-rounded marking on his throat representing Strahm's tracheostomy

-ability to switch to pig hooves because...well, pigs are all over the franchise

-while his top scars are mostly...well, top scars, they're also supposed to be an ever so slight reference to The Brazen Pig [in the sense of Bobby gaining scars from it], which is my absolutely least favorite trap in the whole series lol

Clothed version:

-robe is directly taken from the robe worn when victims are kidnapped

-collar references any time a collar is used in the franchise

-the default charm on the collar is of course the failure puzzle piece, but it can be swapped out to any sort of charm to reference anything in the series not depicted on the design [or maybe I can just double up on something already depicted lol]

-leg chain is both a reference to the bathroom from one, and Pound Of Flesh from 6! The chain itself being attached on the foot is of course the part referencing the bathroom, and the meat cleaver references the one Simone cut her arm off with

Alongside these, his name is a reference to the rigamarole that is setting up the games! And as a silly bonus, his nickname is close to Rigg!

JIGSAW REWATCH THOUGHTS (SPOILERS):

-Yeah, with the whole collar and chain thing, I agree with outsider perspective: Why ISN’T there more bondage-y Saw fic?

-Logan getting dragged all unconscious in the first trap is kinda funny. You mean to tell me this man is an apprentice?

-Shoulda known about the time jump spoiler with the big smoky eye Carly was rockin’.

-You can just tell how thrilled Eleanor is to be working on a Jigsaw case in the lab before her reveal as a big fan… Like girl I see you. You can’t hide sawtism.

-Game participants will really do anything but work together and think (thinking about the part with Carly and the syringes).

-While a modern Saw film looks weird, the attire in this film is very Supernatural/CW/tumblr girl, which fits for the time period (the flashbacks to the game anyway).

-This is so escape room. Like, what if John Kramer just designed escape rooms instead?

-You’d think with John Kramer’s record he’d trap MORE people for infanticide.

-I know people say Eleanor would’ve been a better apprentice than Logan, but what if they both were? Her assisting Logan on traps n shit sounds like a buddy comedy.

-I wonder if while Halloran and his force were investigating the “copycat” activity if they remembered what all had happened with Hoffman and thought to be suspicious of other cops on the force?

Everyone who has even breathed in my general direction knows my favorite genre is Horror. I find myself watching way more Horror Movies than anything else, but I'm definitely not averse to other mediums. I've got a pretty sizable collection of Horror Video Games, a nice handful of Horror Novels, read a fuck ton of Horror Web Stories, and I've definitely watched a good amount of Horror TV Shows. I just tend to be drawn to the movies above all else. I think I've watched more horror films than... anything in my life, lol!

Lizzy, Ron and Kyle: they are the triples of the Roblox’s team called “RBT” which means for “Roblox Battle Team” they are 3 leaders and they have 76 members all included.. they are pretty good team apparently

Idk here's a Pig rework concept for DBD.

Jigsaw Boxes have been increased from 5 to 9. Additionally, Jigsaw Boxes now spawn close to generators, as well as next to each exit gate.

All Reverse-Bear Traps require two Jigsaw Boxes to be completed, effectively unlocking one of two locks with each completed Jigsaw Box. (With 9 Jigsaw Boxes and 4 RBTs, it's still impossible for The Pig to camp and isolate a single Jigsaw Box to prevent completion.)

After a Jigsaw Box has been successfully completed, that Jigsaw Box can no longer be searched by other Survivors. Additionally, completed Jigsaw Boxes become "Laughers," triggering a 10-second laughing effect whenever a Survivor walks or sprints past its line of sight; an active Laugher reveals the Killer Instinct on all nearby Survivors not currently wearing a RBT, whether they're moving or not (Survivors can crouch to avoid setting off a Laugher). While crouched, The Pig sees all Laugher boxes in a yellow aura; whenever nearby an active Laugher box, The Pig gains a small, briefly-lingering Haste effect (notably effects the distance of Ambush attacks).

RBTs are immediately active upon being put on a dying Survivor, no longer requiring a generator to be activated. The timer still pauses whenever the Survivor is dying, hooked, or chased. The timer has been increased from 2:30 to 4:00.

Failing a Jigsaw Box skill check no longer triggers a loud-noise notification. Failing a skill check while healthy will injure the Survivor; failing a skill check while injured causes the Survivor to scream (does not lose progress on the Jigsaw Box) and reveal their location.

Add-ons are reworked accordingly, with changes emphasizing the new Laugher mechanic and adjusted around the increased Jigsaw Box count + extended timer.

The basic premise of this rework is to move power away from the insta-kill factor of RBTs, while retaining their urgency and putting that power instead towards The Pig's basekit. The increased amount of Jigsaw Boxes, added with the lengthened timer, means that even though the timer is immediately active upon placement, the afflicted Survivor has an easier time locating Jigsaw Boxes -- at least to begin with. As the Jigsaw Boxes become used, the options become more narrow for Survivors given an RBT late-game, and The Pig can more easily dedicate efficient patrol time to the last remaining boxes.

Additionally, with every Jigsaw Box that becomes a Laugher, The Pig has better surveillance around generators, since there's likeliness for any non-RBT'd Survivor to trigger a Laugher when simply navigating to gens. As Jigsaw Boxes transition into Laughers, the field of play becomes more stressful for Survivors, who have to play around the Laugher's reveal factor, and also have to worry about a hastened Pig chasing them off these generators. It thus becomes important for RBT'd Survivors to not merely remove their RBTs asap, but to do so in a way that doesn't apply pressure to important generators (or other important areas). This also means that if The Pig successfully gets all her RBTs onto Survivors, and those Survivors subsequently turn all Jigsaw Boxes into Laughers, then she has guaranteed at least one Laugher that will surveil an exit gate, putting her in a prime position to delay that exit from opening.

This should result in less scenarios where The Pig can successfully force a single RBT to pop by tunneling someone, and instead provide a greater reward for distributing multiple RBTs. This still keeps The Pig as a slowburn killer that requires regular M1 play most of the time, but that slowdown is then compounded with extra benefits that allow The Pig to move more effectively around the map, knowing better where Survivors are and having a Haste effect to traverse faster. The Pig thus less often feels like a Killer with no power; RBTs are more consistently threatening even in late-game scenarios, and even if all RBTs are removed, The Pig is left with fun advantages that keep the atmosphere tense for Survivors to navigate.

Like. Oh. Ok. Elements of Root Beer Tender show up throughout the game. The RBT sign in the trash during CAX is the only example I remember but still.

Irving technically kept that promise in the worst way imaginable; Reggie would always be there, but never seen

Because you’re not supposed to focus in on a background asset in a fighting game

Sometimes I think about FPP sharing design elements with RBT Reggie. And then I remember how Irving told Lionel that Reggie was gonna be reused. and I feel like I’m gonna throw up

I figured out why does Saw X feel so off. It's not the filter, or John put in trap, or Amanda's haircut, or even Cecilia not dying yet.

It's the cut in post-credit scene. They made the games most personal, but every game was fair and winnable. Only Henry's doesn't feel so. Because there was a cut and we didn't hear the rules.

Hope Saw 11 explains this along with other unanswered questions, such as

- what happened to Daniel Matthews?

- who were the pigs helping Gordon get Hoffman?

- what happened to Brit? We saw Mallick survived but Brit seemed to be better off in 5.

- who was Eleanor seeing in the car?

- what games other than RBT did Logan partake in? How big was his role?

- what were the rules of Henry's game? There is a cut and they made John dirty, the trap going against everything John stands for.

- what happened to Hoffman? I assume he got out and snuffed Gordon, it fits his character.

- what happened to Rigg?
