"Oh, talk about anything at all...?"
Tumblr media
"Well, if you really don't mind, I suppose."
Tumblr media
"I'm sure you're familiar with... well. Hm." Maybe not, actually. Best start somewhere else...
"Have you... heard of the UL-1 diesel trains?" Ingo begins somewhat tentatively, voice bent low like a secret shared. It's somewhat jarring to hear him so quiet. "They were primarily produced by GyL Co.— That would be Gyarados Locomotives, if it rings a bell. Backed by the League, actually!" And there goes his volume control. Record time.
"This was all a few decades ago, of course. You certainly won't find any of them still in operation here in Unova as of today— though, a few models were recently bought by Kanto's rail system, so we may be seeing them back in their full glory in the coming years. Personally, I'm a little worried about the reliability of the model— they look quite appealing and modern even to today's standards, but they frequently have issues with the engines on account of an ongoing labor strike and a time crunch to stay competitively viable against the PTL— ah, that's Pikaexpress Transport Logistics—" Is he even stopping to breathe?
"—which is part of the reason why so few are still in existence in a functional state. Unreliability resulted in most of them being scrapped, but the beauty of the design itself has lent quite well to miniature reproductions! I've actually found recently that I own the toy model myself! It even comes with a soundboard— have you ever heard the horn of one? It's quite flat and crisp for the make standards at the time." Needless to say, Ingo's done a lot of brushing up since his return.
"And, this may sound strange coming from myself, but I quite prefer trains without those bold, flat-front faces the more modern varieties of subway and passenger trains most always ubiquitously have. The old steam locomotives have a special sort of charm in their silouhette— oh, the aerodynamic nose of the Johto Maglev has it's own appeal too, I would say. You see quite a good deal of that sort of design in high-speed rails. The UL-1 and UL-2 have quite a nice front, too. It's a bit flat, but the control cab being offset from the rest of the nose gives it some nice interest."
"Oh, and—" Ingo abruptly flips on his heel, leaving the front door wide open. He reemerges only a few minutes later with a relatively new-looking book packed from end to end in stickynote annotations. They peek from between the folds, the fore edge warped from the additions. When Ingo opens the book an entire set of stapled and folded pages tucked near the spine tries to spring free— "Just a moment, if you'll look here—" he neatly presses it back in as he flips to a page near the end.
Tumblr media
"Now, the more modern construction of these sorts of engines—"

God you're far more patient than me, Ash. Like...are anon messages to a Tayley stan blog the best place for discourse, maybe yes maybe no, it's a good conversation to me have but jeeeeez. Always jarring seeing people find ways to excuse and justify themselves not condemning little war crimes lmao.
So, to mix it up a little, please feel free to answer all or some (or simply none of the following haha if you've answered them before or just don't want to):
🪄
1) When did you first become aware of Paramore?
2) When did you first see Paramore live/how many times have you?
3) What other artists/bands do you listen to a lot? Maybe...top 5 (no particular order)
4) Do you have any pets? Talk about them (if you want)
5) What was the last new-to-you film, TV show and book you watched/read?
6) What was your favourite moment from running this blog before their relationship was official? I wasn't here then but reading Kels' archive makes me so jealous of how fun and mad it all seemed whenever a new scrap of content arrived haha.
7) If you woke up tomorrow looking like Hayley and couldn't dye your hair (except to refresh it), which hair era would you want?
8) If you had half an hour with Hayley, what would you want to talk about?
That's all I can think of but hopefully it'll give you SOMETHING different to talk/think about!! 🫡🌻
i was saving this so now i shall answer :) the questions were very fun to answer i loved this so much, thank you!! 🖤
1) 2007! that is how long i have been a fan too :)
2) 27th september 2013. overall i have seen them live 4 times! i also saw halfnoise in 2017 and met zac
3) seventeen, jungkook, iu, eminem, billie eilish. honourable mention to taeyeon tho!
4) i don't have any pets. i had a dog (german shepherd) called sam, we had him before i was born so when i came along he was super protective, when i was baby he was always by my crib and stuff and as i was growing up if i needed help when walking or walking down the stairs at our back door (they had no railing) he'd always stand by my side so i could hold him, and then as i grew up too he always slept in my room or on my bed. he passed though in 2005 or 2006? so sad i miss him he was the best. i had another dog after that (yorkshire terrier) and i called him marmite but he was too hyperactive and aggressive so we ended up having to give him to a friend.
5) um..... i don't know. i watched barbie but that was new to everyone. vincenzo (kdrama) is the only thing that comes to mind since i only got into kdramas last year and it came out in 2021. some other things, not new to me but hey i wanna share, little women (kdrama), extraordinary attorney woo (kdrama) and a business proposal (kdrama), the first two were so incredible, the last one was silly but it was a fun time.
6) my fave moment.... the date at the gallery in oct 2018. also LA nov 2018. it was a party over here it was so fun each time. obvs they were dating then but majority of the fanbase still hating tayley shippers and that's what tayley were up to..... incredible time.
7) self titled. granted her personal life was a mess but she went thru 2726267227 hair styles and colours and i think it would be fun
8) hm.... well id like to tell her about finding paramore in 2007 during the literal worst year is my whole life and how it really helped me as a 10 year have something to turn to when i was going through something very traumatic. id also like to pick her brain over some lyrics on ffv so i can understand them properly finally, and hm..... idk what else

Gordon Gordon Gordon Gordon!!
Tumblr media
He's been sneaking into these asks by proxy, so it's finally time for his dedicated session, hehe~
First impression
WUAAAGH what's up with this WEIRD LONG NOT-THOMAS and his FACE?!
Impression now
His face is still pretty weird! But you know what else it is? Part of an Absolute Legend ✨
Like, man, Gordon is such a big presence and interesting character, the entire premise leans heavily on him. I'm inclined to go as far as to say that the Blue Boys of 1, 2 and 4 here are the three most important characters for the franchise (not at all to knock everyone else lmao) and they slot nicely into a Triforce of Courage, Wisdom and Power, and Gordon has Power in spades!
Gordon is The Vain One (not James!). He's legit very strong and the fastest on Sodor (which isn't just being a big fish in a small pond because that island has some crazy cool engines!) but unfortunately he lacks humility. His success seems to have been lodged in his head before the series even begins and this Pride is the source of pretty much every single conflict he's involved in.
But when it isn't his self satisfaction in his actions, it's being smug about being such a grand, magnificent Tender Engine and he is snooty as hell about it. He seems to look at smaller engines [pretty much everyone compared to him lol] as a lesser class, particularly if they're small and cheeky and Tank Engines. This may not be the case exactly, but his way of talking to them and some other things he says are very condescending.
However... as much as a gigantic jerk he is at several points, with Gordon I kinda feel like he plain ass doesn't conceive of his words being out of line. That and having to Unlearn things... he's not innately better than everyone else. He sees things in black and white. There are Useful Engines, and those who should be scrapped. There are Noble Tender Engines and Lesser Tank Engines who exist to do the tedious chores on behalf of the Superior ones. Edward doing shunting is seen as Demeaning and contradicts Gordon’s world view that Tender Engines Don't Stunt™, and he doesn't like that one bit! (Also Edward was crossing the picket line but that wasn't Awdry's concern lmao)
Related is Gordon does seem oddly dense at times, like assuming that Tenders are in of themselves a Status Symbol rather than a large lunchbox of sorts lol, or that Tender Engines like him being too heavy for Branch Lines being because something about Branch Lines are degrading. This might be all Elitist Brainwashing influence. But still, that he just takes these as The Truth means I get to affectionately call him an idiot. And there is no other way to explain how he genuinely believes Bill and Ben were going to murder him if he wasn't missing a few brain bolts in there.
Fortunately, he does eventually start to learn the important lessons.... very gradually, but the Early Gordon is a pretty different beast to Later Gordon, and it's wonderful~
Also, I gotta give credit to him for having some moments of utter brilliance and actual grasp of reality and more complex matters, like culture. (Yeah, I'm rolling with his geniune Opera Knowledge from s6 of all things. It's good!) As much as Awdry himself may have disagreed, Gordon was in the right to want a Station Pilot and the Strike was called for (not bullying Edward for it, but myeah) ...but this leads to my next point: He seems to have a mental block when it comes to Emotions.
Certainly, he's as emotional as the others are, it's not just a scale of Snooty, Arrogant, Condescending, Prideful ....well, it is, but ALSO the more mixed and varied feelings: Shame, Sadness, Fear, Ambivilance, Irritation, Anger, Passion, Amused, Delight and so on. However, Gordon is seemingly unaware of how his words may make the others feel, and even at his cruellest it doesn't look like he's aware he's twisting a knife in. To Gordon, he's being honest, but his verbose manner ends up twisting and wriggling away from any valid point like an overgrown vine that somehow links back to how [Other Engine] is disgracing him, Gordon, by association.
Examples include: Being offended by Henry's new shape (??? Gordon dude he nearly died and this is an improvement, a good thing!), saying that Edward's age and difficulty starting a heavy ass packed load of passengers is grounds to be Retired or even Scrapped, other little insulting things like calling the likes of Thomas and James Little insistently (it seems to vary if he's trying to put them down or actually be affectionate), and many more when in the hands of inept writers who have to wheel out the same Gordon Learns A Lesson Plot every other season.
Like I said in the James post, I also think he kinda poisoned the Red guy with his snooty attitude... but I maintain that I think Gordon was unaware of this. He may know he has Influence, and enjoy that, but he really truly doesn't appear to mean to mould James into a smaller, redder version of himself. He's oblivious and from his own point of view, benevolent. Which is in fact a dangerous combo indeed!
It's... a lot o7;;
Again though, if you're looking at the books and s1-s5 of TVS you can see him grow and change. He does take a while to learn the lessons, but as time goes on he moves 2 steps forward and 1 step back, then eventually less steps back entirely. It's great! And so is Gordon. A big dumb meathead with not entirely uncalled for delusions of granduer. A dramatic so-and-so who is the best engine for his job.
I love this sophisticated jock who grows more kindness~ 💙
Favourite moment
Hm! This isn't as easy to decide lol. We all like Gordon Goes Foreign... but you know what sticks in my mind more?
hOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHH
Tumblr media
Look, I’m not 100% objective, here! But Ringo’s read of this line is fantastic (and keeps making me expect him to finish saying OOOHH SHIT) and it’s also a well deserved bolt of divine retribution for how rude he was being earlier. (As long as my essay already was, he very much needed the knocking down of some pegs here!)
Idea for a story
While both my fics with him thus far have been variations of Pre-Canon, Full-Arrogance and Snobbish Gordon (and both were a lot of fun!) ...but I cannot bear the same expired horse being beaten more when the story is set waaay later but he’s still up his own ass. Please, PLEASE writers, let him hold what growth he’s managed to gain!
I think it’d be good to accept that he’s gonna be outdated sooner or later, so have him help train another High Speed Engine and take them under his wing. The Christopher Awdry books kinda have something similar with Pip and Emma, but I think a better way of having Gordon be involved would be if he was actively doing some mentoring himself, as well as being a neat parallel with Edward, whose type was once Express only but got outclassed by A1s, and so the same can happen to this big A1 -> A3 lad and he can form a healthy relationship with some bright eyed newbie (and maybe have some self awareness and try to stop their head getting too large, lol).
Unpopular opinion
I know I just said him mentoring would be a cool story idea, but in canon? He is NOT a resident Dad type!! He’s a hotshot young man but he’s also a hot mess. He’s physically large but he’s not got the Energy of someone who dispenses sage advice and a shoulder to cry on. At best, he’s a weird uncle! One who means well but you shouldn’t take his life advice to heart because he’s actually just as, if not more clueless than you!
Favourite relationship
I feel inclined to say Thomas here. Emphatically not because Gordon is ‘old’ and Thomas is ‘young’, but because they’re so damn alike and actually make an excellent, albeit unconventional type of Rivalry.
Both are self important with genuine finesse in their respective talents, both are honest to a fault, both have redeeming qualities to offset their initial abrasiveness, and the first TVS episode is centred on the both of them and sets the tone for the series as a whole. There’s more parallels, of course, but I also wanna point out they’re effectively the mascots of North Western Rail in universe too, and I absolutely love this picture:
Tumblr media
I also have immense fondness for the Down the Mine paradigm shift! Thomas gives Gordon grief over the ditch incident and later when it emerges the Fat Controller is gonna send for Gordon to pull him out, Thomas is filled with dread. But Gordon isn’t using the chance to lord over Thomas, he’s actually so amused by Thomas’ mishap and it coming at a time where he’s been significantly humbled, they instead become Comrades and I love it. I eat it up! Paint Pots and Queens isn’t anywhere near as good but I adore the little bit where they’re appealing for the other, equals and watching each other’s back~
But yeah, as Friendly Rivals they both feel very authentic and yet, in a daft way, sweet ;3
Favourite headcanon
He still says “Hurry, hurry, hurry!” when pulling the Express. That’s a HC as I think the show phased it out, but I like it lol. I feel like my essay on him contains most of the headcanon stuff, but it’s all based on what’s shown, baybee!

Solo!White Battle Details (Draft)
*An old draft for how XIO would reskin Sayu’s battle.
Phase 1
Avoids B2J by jumping between moving cars and moving to various stages surrounded by the crew’s control towers. He needs to be in range of them for the crew to control them.
Begins with teasing the duo, inadvertently guiding them to the crew’s control towers. Currently, has no direct attacks and instead manipulates the stage hazards. He stays just faraway enough that B2J can’t directly attack him either.
Red: Controls the floor saws, replacing Tila’s sound eels.
White: Controls the floor vents.
----
Phase 2
B2J gains access to the rails and can now start damaging the towers and dealing damage to White. He gets upgraded mid-fight, giving him access to direct attacks.
Green: Air Strike. Calls down several mini bombs to attack B2J. Replacement for “fish rain”.
Yellow: Seeking missiles. Several mini missiles surround the active B2J member and then strike. Can occasionally be parried. Replacement “fish ring” attacks.
Blue: Direct fire. Uses his microphone to take aim and fire. Replacement for Sayu’s trident attacks.
----
Phase 3
After getting worn out from switching attacks so frequently, instead of upgrading he gets replaced by a mech version of himself which is directly piloted by the crew. Having no towers to attack to bring them down, B2J must retreat.
Still has access to the same attacks, but they are much more frequent and explosion attacks have a much larger AOE.
----
Phase 4
The final showdown. Getting back to the main area, B2J is able to make use of White’s many scrapped parts to gain ammo and make transformers that are capable of attacking the mech head-on. They bring him down by attacking his different limbs (each arm, the legs, and the head).
----
Aftermath
After defeating the giant mech, B2J hop inside what’s left of the mech to confront the crew.
----
Extra Details
Like Sayu, he has mid-battle phrases that change depending on which color/personality he has switched on.
White - Flirting (Uses the original 1010 phrases)
“Baby, I’m electrifying.”
“Baby, you’ve shot through my heart.”
Red - Aggressive/Teasing
“Is that all you’ve got?”
“Can’t touch this!”
“You’re giving love a bad name!”
Blue - Cool/Haughty
“Hm. Not bad.”
“Try and dodge this one.”
“Impressive.”
Yellow  - Playful/Childish (Uses variations of Sayu’s original phrases)
“Ha ha, you’re so much fun!”
“Aw, you’re just playing hard to get!”
"C’mon, let’s dance!”
Green - Jokey
“You know I’ve got nerves of steel!”
“Baby, you’re really the bomb!”
“That really grinds my gears!”
Rainbow - Non sequitur/Corrupted (Consists of several stock phrases/references to computers/robots. Also randomly corrupts original phrases).
“H-h-hi I’m *corrupted*, your office assistant. Would you like some assistance t-t-t-today?”
“Hello world-d-d-d-d-d!”
“Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit...”
“Mayd-d-d-day, M-M-Mayday, give me your answer d-d-d-d-doooo...”
“I’m half c-c-c-c-crazy all for the lov-v-v-ve of youuuuuuuu.
“00110001 00110000 00110001 00110000”
“Error. No message found.” (Zuke: “Why does he say that one outloud?”)
Despite having a physical body, he is still impossible to attack directly because he is always out of reach until the final phase.
His outfit is a combination of Neon J’s and the MKI, having a more “captain” like appearance in contrast to his original “sailor” appearance.
The crew are now dressed in school uniforms to fit with the militarized themes. They’re still otaku, but steer more towards war otaku instead of media otaku, though there is still some overlap.
The crew’s roles have changed slightly:
Remi: The leader/designer. He controls White’s upgrading and image. In mech mode he coordinates the attacks.
Tila: Co-Pilot. Since she no longer provides the voice of the artist, she instead copilots. In mech mode, she coordinates the legs.
Dodo: Mo-cap. Controls White’s movements in his smaller form. In mech mode, he coordinates the arms.
Sofa: The prop manager. Is in charge of working the stage and props.

a soul that’s born in cold and rain
(lek belongs to @arcquos. check out his art!)
(ayin, thyme and sable belong to @baronetcoins on ao3. check out her writing!)
1.
Death is the endless starlit road, going from and to nowhere. On each side sprawls a forest of pines, branches heavy with snow, held silent and still in darkness. He must walk, though he is lost and alone here: the only way out lies ahead, whatever it may be.
There is no light save for the distant glow of silver stars, no movement but the snowflakes falling slowly from the sky, no sound but the crunching of snow under his feet. No colors but white and grey, the world dimmed by frost and night.
And then all of this changes.
Northern lights held in the shape of a beast, cosmic colors swirling in dreamy patterns as it stands in his path, its bright eyes boring into his.
"I'm supposed to walk," he says, more a question than a request.
"When have you ever done what you were supposed to?" She asks.
On these words she turns her back to him and walks into the woods. The warmth of her presence lingers like heat on a summer night until her tail disappears between the dark trees.
He steps off the path and follows her in the dark.
(Cayde-6 comes back to life shivering, his body freezing except where a furry body is pressed against his side.
"Hello, Guardian," the wolf says, her open maw like a smile, teeth sharp and eyes bright.
He names her Sundance, for the way the weak winter sun shines over her tawny coat. She laughs, hyena like, and calls him a sap, but there's genuine warmth in her eyes when she looks at him.)
2.
Death is the yawning abyss that devours all, the great beast waiting at the end of entropy, that which is and comes from oblivion.
The darkness is smothering, cold and heavy where it sits on their chest, inside their throat, reaching, spreading, covering them, burying them–
They grip at their throat, gasping for air, refusing to give in to the great nothingness stealing their breath. The sound of it is like claws digging into dirt, a persistent scratching, scrapping, searching–
Until it gives out, ever so slightly, all of it, the weight in their lungs and the sound in their eyes. The darkness seems to crumble on itself, just a piece of it, just enough to allow through a small head, tall ears, eyes like black light, dark and luminescent all at once.
"If it catches you, it will kill you," she says, voice like the whispers of wind. "But first it must catch you."
They want to say they are already caught, already trapped, but the darkness gave in, gave out, and there is just enough space for them to stand. As long as she is by their side they would always be just enough space to stand, to breath, unburied.
Uncaught.
She runs, then, as is in her nature. And it must be in theirs, too, because they follow, through the winding tunnels of darkness.
(Occam claws their way back to life, through of six foot of graveyard dirt and the suffocating fear of what lies below. Up above they hear scratching, digging, scrapping, searching–
For them.
They drag themself to the surface and the first thing they see is the rabbit, jittery eyes and ever-moving ears even in her prey-stillness.
She doesn't speak but her small body is soft and warm, alive in a way they forgot they knew. They burry their fingers in her fur like a man drowning and their hearts beat as one, rabbit-fast.)
3.
Death is a pond, quiet and dark, overgrown with weeds, and the water clings to her skin and tries to drag her under.
"You're drowning already," the duck says, sounding unconcerned but not unkind. The feathers he is grooming are milky-white, like the moon seen through clouds. "Why not take the dive?"
He plunges his head in the water. His voice comes out distant as he warns her, Keep your eyes open.
She does even though she feels like she should not. She dunks her head into the water–
(Lek comes awake gasping for breath, waterlogged white hair being gently groomed by the duck sitting on her chest.
"It does no good to linger," he says, "In life or in death. You look terrible, dear."
She shrugs the comment off, as unbothered by it as he is by the water on his back, and lets the sun on her skin and the weight on her chest chase the cold of the water away.)
4.
Death is a crushing ocean, is an endless plain of tall grass, is blindness and silence, is the wide open sky.
(Salvation is a grasping octopus, is a lioness with fur like wildfire, is a hound pressed against your side, is teeth and claws and wings and a thousand things to find the way back home.)
Death is great and inescapable and ever changing.
(So are they.)
5.
Razel's Ghost is not settled.
It's hard to miss, what with the way he shifts constantly. In the field he does it to better fit their surroundings, hiding under Razel's clothes and fighting at his side in turns, one moment a small gecko under the collar of his coat and the next a tiger tearing through Vex circuits like it's tissue paper. In the Tower he is no less restless than Razel is, and while he fidgets and runs around his Ghost orbits around him in his robotic Core form, lands on top of Ikora's desk as a cat before jumping above the rail and taking to the sky on the small wings of a sparrow.
It's obvious. Doesn't mean Razel notices it.
Or rather, he doesn't notice it's not the norm. Most Ghosts keep to themselves, only talking to their Guardian rather than for them. He assumes the same goes for their shapeshifting. Maybe it's a social no-no, letting your Ghost go through a dozen form a minute in front of everyone. That would explain why they keep staring at Cubix and him like… that.
He goes to ask Ikora, eventually, because he trusts Cayde with many things but social etiquette isn't one of them.
"Ghosts typically settle after a few resurrections, most after the first one," she tells him, watching Cubix flit between forms, trying to decide on which one to wear for the day. "It's not that they don't shift in public. It's simply that they can't, ever. An unsettled Ghost after so many resurrections is practically unheard of."
"But... Why?" Razel asks. There are so many advantages to having an unsettled Ghost, after all.
She smiles at his confusion. "They only take this form to better guide our souls back to our body- to life. Once they find the most adapted to the task, they stop changing."
"That makes... Like, no sense. At all."
That brings a calculating look to her face. Her eyes go to Cubix briefly before she brings her attention back to him.
"Tell me, Razel, what do you see when you die?"
"Hm- what? I mean. Nothing, because I'm like. Dead?"
She hums thoughtfully at that but doesn't explain herself further. Razel takes it that the conversation is over and leaves quietly, even more confused than before.
6.
He asks Cayde first, as usual.
Well. Technically, he asks Sundance.
"How did you know?" He asks, cross-legged in front of her.
She doesn't usually talk to people outside of Cayde, but he found that he's an exception to many things, this included.
"He was already a wolf," she says.
"I'm pretty sure he was also a robot back then."
"In soul, not body. He was a hunter, but a lonely one. Lost without a pack to hunt at his side. I became that pack."
Thats answers literally none of his questions. By the wolf-grin she gives him, she knows it.
He groans. "Thanks. I guess."
Time for a poll then.
-
"She has the heart of a lion," Jason, Ayin's Ghost, tells them. He trapped Cubix under his paws to stop him from running around and has been aggressively grooming him since the beginning of their discussion. Cubix looks disgruntled by it but doesn't dare try to break free. Smart Ghost. "A born leader. A huntress. It was only natural that I take the shape of her soul to better guide it back to life."
One last good lick and the lion releases Cubix. Immediately he turns into a hummingbird and flies up to Razel, hiding in the fold of his collar least Jason decides he needs another bath.
Jason is still laughing when they walk away, a low, rumbling sound that follows them out of the room.
-
Sable's Ghost is an octopus. She doesn't need water, because she's not a real animal, just a pure manifestation of Light shaped like an octopus, but Razel still feels uneasy watching her wrap her tentacles around Sable's shoulders. He wants to dunk her in a bucket of water just in case she actually needs it and they both forget it. It wouldn't be a surprise: Sable forgets a lot of things like that. Sleeping, eating regularly, where she put her keys...
A bit like Razel actually. They're the Tower's less functional Warlocks, which is really saying something.
"She has a mind like none other," Virgo says. Sable smiles distractedly at the compliment. "And I'm a cephalopod like none other. The way she thinks- always moving, adapting..."
Razel watches the constant curling of Virgo's tentacles around Sable's arms and shoulders, the way she changes colors until making all but one with Sable's lab robes, and thinks he has an idea of what she means. Probably.
They don't even notice him go. He makes a mental note to bring Sable something to it tonight. And an aquarium. Just in case.
-
Sunny is a delight to be around. She has a voice like summer rain, clear and comforting, and a permanent dog-smile on, even when things are tough. Razel would love to pet her but he's not sure if he's close enough to Thyme to ask that.
"Thyme needed a guide," she says, his head pillowed on her Guardian's thigh while she pets him. "And a friend. I knew she would like a Golden Retriever, and so here I am."
"That's it? She just wanted a dog?"
They both shrug in unison. "It doesn't have to be complicated," Thyme says.
Guess it doesn't, huh.
-
"So it comes from either my heart, my mind, my soul, what I want, or any combination of those four." Razel stares at Cubix with narrowed eyes, eyebrows drawn together in deep thought. Then he heaves a sigh and drops on his back. His mattress dips under Cubix's weight as his Ghost – currently shaped like a farm rabbit – hops next to him and smuggles against his side. "That didn't help like, at all."
"Do you want me to settle?" Cubix asks.
"I- huh. Not really, I guess."
He likes having Cubix turn into a bear during a fight, but it doesn't seem like a very convenient shape to sleep with – his ship only has so much space.
Cubix tucks his head in the crook of Razel's arms. "There you have it, then," he says and promptly falls asleep.
And that, as they say, is that.
6.
Apparently you're not supposed to touch other Ghosts, either.
Shame they didn't learn that before Razel got his hands all over Sundance.
She just looks so fluffy, dozing next to Cayde while they chat. And they touch all the time – Razel and Cayde, Cayde and Sundance, Sundance and Cubix. It kind of makes sense to cut the middle man and just get his hands on her, right? She must be so soft.
He extends his hand and brushes his fingers between her ears.
It's the slightest touch, because he may be an idiot but he's not an asshole, he respects people's personal space. He's waiting for her to give him permission for a full petting session. But he doesn't get further than that.
His bare fingers touch her and it's like he's touching a live wire and dipping his whole body is fire and holding a star in his hands, all at once. His arms tenses and he gasps soundlessly, chest heaving, and so does she, so does Cayde–
The sensation eases in a second and he snatches his hand back as soon as he can, cringing at the pained sound she makes. Cayde's fingers are inches from his, reaching to stop him and frozen in place.
"Sorry," he rushes out, rubbing at his fingers and not quite looking at Cayde. "I didn't-"
Cayde's hand slowly falls back in his lap. He opens his mouth and makes a faint clicking sound, inner mechanisms rearranging themselves to better accommodate speech, and if he had a flesh and blood body it would be an audible swallow, probably. That's what it reminds Razel of, at least.
He's tremendously fond of Cayde's little noises.
"It's fine," Cayde chokes out eventually. "You- It's fine."
It doesn't sound fine, but Razel isn't going to put up a debate. He nudges the donut box Cayde's way, instead, in silent apology. There's only one left. He can have it... Just this once.
7.
The feeling of it– lingers. A static-y kind of feeling under his skin, an itch he can't scratch.
He has to do something about it
"Here."
Cayde looks up from his report to Razel, who's standing there like an idiot, Cubix dangling from his outreached hands. He's shaped like a cat today, because they both consider that to be his most pettable form.
"What?"
He sways Cubix slightly. "Take him."
"... What?"
Cayde is very eloquent today. He's not often speechless but right now he's blinking owlishly at the two of them, mouth opening but no sound coming out.
Razel sighs. "I shouldn't have touched Sundance without asking. I'm sorry. But you can touch Cubix, if you want. As, you know. Payback or something."
Cayde shakes his head as if waking up from a daydream. "I told you it's fine," he says. "You don't have to feel like you have to-"
"I want you to though."
Back at it again with the dumbfounded blinking. Sundance, who he's carefully not looking at, follow the gentle swaying of Cubix his in grip with her golden eyes, no other part of her body moving.
"You what?"
"I asked Lek, about the whole... Touching daemons thing." Lek is an expert, or she acts like she's one, which is kind of the same thing. She never says no to explaining stuff to him, even if she spends most of her explanation laughing at him. "So, it's fine if you don't want me to touch Sundance. But you can touch Cubix. If you want. Because I do. Because you're important to me and I like you a lot. But it's fine if you don't want to."
"I- What?"
Traveler, he's slow today.
Razel takes matters into his own hands, crosses the space separating them in two steps and drop Cubix in Cayde's lap.
Cayde's hands fly up and stay there, hovering above Cubix. The cat has already curled up in his new spot, carefully not touching any bare stretch of metal in case Cayde doesn't want this.
Again, that faint clicking sound as Cayde glances from Cubix to Razel back to the Ghost.
Slowly, carefully, giving them both time to say no, say nevermind this is weird actually. They don't. His fingers brush against Cubix's back.
The reaction is... Quieter, this time around. A shivers that goes through all four of them. Razel's breath stutters in his throat. Warmth bloom in his chest, spread through his limbs to the very tip of his fingers. He exhales slowly, shoulders relaxing, opens eyes he didn't notice himself closing.
Cayde is carding his fingers through Cubix's fur with a dazed look in his eyes. Every touch is like static, settling into bonfire-warmth in the pit of Razel's stomach.
"Well," he says, then stops. His brain isn't exactly up to words right now. "Cool."
He sits down on the ground next to Cayde, folds his legs, lays his shaking hands in his lap and his head against Cayde's thigh. He breathes in deeply, closes his eyes again, and lets the feeling of absolute love and contentment radiating from Cubix lull him to sleep.

**Part 1**
P1: <A deserted side road in the middle of a rundown, decaying city. The pavement is cracked and the streets littered with the occasional broken and rusted vehicle, as well as stained heavily with oil and pollutants. Overhead, thick, dark clouds block most of the sunlight.>
 P2: <A portal opens behind a rusted chain-link fence across an alley.>
 P3: “You said you wanted to travel somewhere cheerful and bright for Christmas right Marquess?” <Asks a boy, Cyril, as he appears from the portal>
 P4: “Sure do.” <Thomas, emerging from the portal>
 P5: “Well I think you made a mistake.”
<New Page>
P1: <Both boys looking through the fence and out to the stained street and apartment buildings, and the dark clouds overhead>
 P2: “Hm, odd. I was sure I had the right world; Bathora G-89, home of the Great Crystal Spire, a great monu- hey, are you okay?” <Thomas explaining while Cyril coughs>
 P3: “It’s this air *cough* there’s so much smog.” <Cyril, bent over slightly with his hand over his mouth>
 P4: “Oh yeah, it is a little thick.” <Thomas thinking aloud, looking up at the sky> “I should have something for that.”
<New Page>
P1: <Thomas’ hand holding a chain necklace with a strange sort of pearl-like object attached to it> “Wear this, it’s an air charm, provides the wearer fresh air appropriate to their species.”
 P2: “I’m not wearing a necklace like some lady.” <Cyril with mild indignation, folding his arms>
 P3: “Cyril…” <Thomas sighing with mild exasperation>
 P4: “Just wear it okay? You can hide it in your shirt if want.” <Thomas, holding it out> “Or would you rather suffocate?”
 P5: <A long coughing fit with Cyril nearly doubled over> “Okay fine.” <Rasps out>
<New Page>
P1: “So where are we?” <Cyril, stuffing the necklace down his shirt>
 P2: “Don’t know.” <Thomas, looking thoughtfully at the fence> “We need to get out of this alley first.”
 P3: <The fence being sliced by sword slashes>
 P4: <Thomas standing over the debris that was previously the fence, holding his sword>
 P5: “There, now let’s go look around.” <Thomas, beckoning Cyril to follow him, while his sword turns back into a cane>
<New Page>
P1: <Both boys walking out into the cracked street, looking around for any clue where they are>
 P2: “There’s so much pollution in the air.” <Thomas muses to himself, looking up at the smog filled streets>
 P3: “Do you even think there’s life left on this world?” <Cyril asks, trying to look into a cracked and grime covered window of some kind of shop>
 P4: “I’d be surprised. This is something that could happen on your world you know; all those factories pumping out toxins without filtration to slow them.”
 P5: “We won’t let it get this bad.” <Cyril, catching up with Thomas, looking down another alleyway>
 “I hope not.” <Thomas replies>
<New Page>
P1: “I want to find out how this world got so bad.” <Thomas wondering, walking down the street with Cyril who has his hands on his goggles> “And if anyone survived this apocalypse, we need to help them.”
 P2: “Hey Thomas, look over there!” <Cyril abruptly, with his goggles on and pointing while tugging Thomas’ coat> “I think there’s someone on the ground over there!”
 P3: “Yup, I see them. Come on!” <Thomas replies>
 P4: <Both boys running over to the person on the ground, Thomas holding his cane at the middle>
 P5: “I think he’s still alive.” <Thomas says quietly, crouching down next to the man, who’s not wearing a shirt, but whose flesh looks oddly grey and unhealthy>
 “Turn him over, something looks wrong with his arm.” <Cyril>
 “On it.”
<New Page>
P1: <Thomas turning the man over with ease>
 P2: “Agggh!” <Both boys cry in horror, recoiling from the man>
 P3: <The man is now shown to be grotesquely disfigured due to robotic parts in his face and chest, including wires, tubes, and something that looks like a cheap camera lens for an eye, while the other has been removed and the flesh on his lower jaw removed, and the jaw, replaced with a badly made metal replacement. One arm is distended and partially made of metal.>
 P4: “What’s wrong with him!?” <Cyril with disgust>
 P5: “I think an idiot tried to give him cybernetic implants.” <Thomas, crouching back down beside him>
 “H… H…” <Weakly uttered by the man>
<New Page>
P1: “Help me.” <The man says, weakly raising his good arm towards Thomas>
 P2: “I will, don’t worry.” <Thomas assures gently, lowering the man’s arm to his side>
 P3: “Is there even anything you can do?” <Cyril asks, still standing behind Thomas, but leaning over with his hands on his legs>
 “I can try to ease the pain, first and foremost.” <Thomas, his hands glowing with light which he’s placed on the man’s chest> “Does that feel any better?”
 P4: “Y-yes, a little.” <The man>
 P5: “What’s your name? What happened?” <Thomas, maintaining his light magic>
<New Page>
P1: “My name is… my name is Kurt Fis… Kurt Fischer.” <The man explains> “Please, you must… you must find my daughter. Let her know…”
 P2: “Let her know I’m sorry.” <Kurt, finishing>
 P3: “Don’t go dying on me just yet Mr. Fischer. Just give me a couple days and I’m sure I could get you healthy as a hippogryph.” <Thomas assuring>
 P4: “Uh, Marquess, look!” <Cyril, pointing down the street and grabbing Thomas’s shoulder>
<New Page>
P1: <Three side by side panels show a truck getting closer and closer. A truck with a distinctly armoured, military and completely utilitarian look to it>
 P2: “That’s a ‘truck’ right?” <Cyril>
 “Yes. I think possibly some sort of transport.”
 “Transport? You mean like for people?”
 “I do, but I’m not sure that’s a good thing.”
P3: <The truck comes to a stop next to the group>
 P4: <The back of the truck lowers>
<New Page>
P1: <Men and women with mechanical chest units embedded into them, and wearing open police jackets, appear from the truck, carrying slightly futuristic-looking rifles>
 P2: <The guards surround the boys, with rifles lowered>
 P3: “This man is fitted with unlicensed enhancements. Step away so that we may take him for repairs.” <One of the guards says, stepping forward>
 P4: “Repairs?” <Thomas>
 P5: “Yes. The Committee has authorized a series of complimentary repairs for this week.”
<New Page>
P1: “What kind of repairs?” <Cyril, standing on guard>
 P2: “Replacement with authorized enhancements. Now please step away from Mr. Fischer, this will be for his benefit.” <The guard leader>
 P3: <Thomas sighs and gets to his feet>
 P4: “I have no wish to begin a fight in which Mr. Fischer could be injured further, so I see no other option.” <Thomas explains> “Take him.”
 P5: “A wise decision boy. Do not fear, he will receive the best repairs the Committee can offer.” <The guard captain, directing his troops with hand signals>
<New Page>
P1: “He mentioned a daughter to me. You wouldn’t happen to know who she is would you?” <Thomas asks as the guards take Kurt Fischer into the truck>
 P2: “I’m afraid I don’t. You might wish to use a public Cybernet access point to find that information.” <Guard captain>
 “And where would we find one of those?” <Thomas>
 P3: “You can’t be serious; they’re all over the occupied parts of the city. Even the Outer City has plenty. Just follow this road into town.” <Guard captain, bewildered>
 P4: “Thank you, we will.” <Thomas, bowing politely> “Come on Cyril.”
 **Part 2**
P1: “Marquess… those men, were those things in their chests…” <Cyril, as he and Thomas walk>
 “How they breathe? I think so yes. Those’re cybernetics; replacing flesh with machines to improve their bodies.” <Thomas>
 “And it turned their skin grey?” <Cyril>
 “I’m not actually sure what’s doing that. Could be implants causing dermal deterioration, or could be the toxic atmosphere.” <Thomas>
 “Okay, and one more question.” <Cyril>
 “Shoot.”
 P2: “How come you’re breathing fine?” <Cyril>
 P3: “Filtered lungs, and air magic, among other things.” <Thomas>
<New Page>
P1: “Hm… look up ahead, I think I see a fence.” <Thomas, pointing ahead>
 P2: “I see it too!” <Cyril, just finishing putting his goggles on> “But I don’t see ground behind it… so is there a bridge?”
 P3: “I think so. Come on, let’s go take a look.” <Thomas, gesturing for Cyril to follow>
 P4: <Both boys running towards or arriving at the chain-link fence, overlooking a trench with train tracks in it, and the road continuing as a bridge across the trench>
<New Page>
P1: “Hm… fence has seen better days.” <Thomas, inspecting the deteriorating fence> “Lots of rust.”
 “Is that important?” <Cyril>
 “No, just thinking out loud.” <Thomas>
 P2: “So what kind of train is it do you think?” <Cyril, with his goggles still on> “The track looks weird.”
 P3: “It’s a monorail; a train that uses just a single rail and the train is usually electric.” <Thomas commenting over the picture of the smoggy train line>
 P4: “Well, I think we’ve put it off long enough; let’s see what the inhabited part of the city is like.” <Thomas, turning away from the fence>
<New Page>
P1: “I suspect it’s close if there’s a train line here.” <Cyril>
 P2: “You’re correct, but there was a more direct way of learning that.” <Thomas>
 “What?” <Cyril>
 P3: “That.” <Thomas pointing with his cane at a sign reading ‘Outer City Entrance’>
 “Oh…” <Cyril, almost off frame, standing beside Thomas now>
 P4: “Anyways, bridge. Let’s see what this city is like.” <Thomas, walking onto the bridge, with Cyril following>
<New Page>
P1: <Both boys arrive at the end of the bridge and see the road continue on straight ahead into the smog, now in slightly better condition, though with some garbage and scrap lining the sides. On both sides are neon signs, somewhat tall buildings, store windows, and street lamps of a very high tech design. Occasionally a wire draped across the road, and there were some turn offs into parking lots or smaller side roads. This includes roads branching off either side of the main one immediately after the bridge. On the left street corner from the boys’ perspective is a gas station, looking slightly rundown, and on the right street corner is a motorcycle store. A few people or motorcycles may be around>
<New Page>
P1: “This is both cool and depressing.” <Thomas comments casually>
 “Thinking out loud again?” <Cyril>
 “Yes.”
 P2: “So we needed to find a Cybernet public access point right?” <Cyril> “Would that be one of those, um… computer things?”
 “Probably. I was just gonna ask at that gas station where we could find one.” <Thomas replies, pointing to the building in question>
 P3: “No signs this time, but I bet one of these roads beside us goes to a train station.” <Cyril adds as they start walking>
 “Yeah that is odd. Just something else to ask about I suppose.” <Thomas musing>
<New Page>
P1: <Thomas and Cyril walk into the somewhat rundown, but at least clean, store at the gas station. Despite largely empty shelves, several lights not working, and holes in the ceiling, the air is mostly clear.>
 P2: “What’cha wan- woah…” <the man at the counter, sitting, looking more like he’s relaxing than working, and holding a tablet> “What’s with the fancy getups?”
 P3: “Well we can’t very well walk around naked can we?” <Thomas cheekily>
 P4: “That’s not what I-” <Shopkeeper>
 P5: “He knows.” <Cyril interjects>
<New Page>
P1: “Well whatever, none of my business. So again; what’cha want?” <Shopkeep> “All I got to sell is dust.”
 P2: “Nah, don’t want stuff, just some questions.” <Thomas>
 “Alright, that shouldn’t take long.”
 P3: “Why aren’t there any street signs out there?” <Thomas asks>
 P4: “Rusted through about three years ago. Got taken down, no point putting them back up.”
 “How come?” <Cyril>
 “Because you can just use Cybernet for directions? Where’ve you two been living?” <Shopkeep, shocked at their obliviousness>
 P5: “Very far away.” <Thomas evasively> “Next question.”
 “If it gets rid of you sooner.”
<New Page>
P1: “Where can we find a Cybernet public access point?” <Thomas asks, calmly and curiously>
 P2: “All over the place. Nearest one is just down Central Street here, big neon sign that says C.P.A., you can’t miss it.”
 P3: “Alright thanks.” <Thomas, turning to leave, holding his cane reclined on his shoulder>
 P4: “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.” <Shopkeep, returned to his device as the boys walk out the door>
<New Page>
P1: “What a cantankerous man.” <Cyril with slight irritation as they walk down the sidewalk, more people around them now>
 “I’d be surprised if any of this city’s inhabitants had much cheer left in them, with it in this state.”
 P2: “Look, there’s the sign; Cybernet Public Access, C.P.A.” <Cyril, pointing ahead>
 P3: “And there’s the long queue below it.” <Thomas, with a view of the two standing on the sidewalk leading up to a line of people heading up to doors under the neon sign in question>
 “Oh wow…” <Cyril adds in>
<New Page>
P1: “I shouldn’t have to wait in that, I’m a noble.” <Cyril with his hands on his hips>
P2: “Cyril…” <Thomas sighs with exasperation>
 P3: “Er… sorry. Old habits die hard.” <Cyril replies sheepishly>
 P4: “We’re not at home, so we’re not nobles. And even if we were, we should strive to treat each other equally.” <Cyril recites confidently, in a way that suggests he’s recited this a lot>
 P5: “That’s right.” <Thomas replies approvingly>
 P6: “Still, I do hope this queue moves somewhat quickly.” <Thomas adds with mild concern>
<New Page>
P1: [One hour later] <The line has only moved a little, and there’s clearly plenty of ways left to go>
 P2: “Hm…” <Thomas, touching the top end of his cane to his chin thoughtfully> “Perhaps we should seek out another spot.”
 “But we don’t know where any other spots are.”
 P3: “Excuse me a moment...” <Someone speaking off panel, with Thomas and Cyril’s expressions being ones of taking notice>
 P4: “Pardon the intrusion, but did I hear you young gentlemen wanting to find another C.P.A.?” <A man who looks well-meaning, but a bit punk and scruffy>
<New Page>
P1: “Oh, hello there! Yeah I said that.” <Thomas pleasantly>
 P2: “Well I can show you to a nice, exclusive one. It’s perfect for people of your caliber.” <The man explains quietly> “What do you say?”
 P3: “And why should we-” <Cyril begins>
 P4: “Sure, lead the way.” <Thomas replies calmly, with Cyril shocked beside him>
 P5: “Then please, follow me.”
<New Page>
P1: “Have you gone mad!?” <Cyril quietly as they follow the man at a slight distance>
 “You know the answer to that is ‘yes’.” <Thomas replies casually>
 P2: “I mean; you’re willing to just trust this stranger blindly?” <Cyril explained with mild irritation>
 P3: “Of course not! I’m willing to follow him, big difference. I’ll be surprised if he’s telling the truth.” <Thomas explains>
 P4: “Then why are we following him?” <Cyril>
 “Simple; criminal or not, he’s bound to own a computer. That’s all I really need.” <Thomas explains, simply and with a confident smile> “Trust me.”
 P5: “Well… okay.” <Cyril replies, taking a deep, slightly nervous breath>
<New Page>
P1: “Here we are.” <The man as the three stand in a narrow, filthy alley in front of a sturdy, metal door>
 P2: <The man’s fist knocking on the door>
 P3: “Hey Jack, I got us some new ‘members’.” <The man says to a peep hatch on the door being slid open>
 “Password?”
 “Since when do we have a password?”
 “Alright, you’re good.”
 P4: <Door opens>
<New Page>
P1: <The man ushering Thomas and Cyril into the doorway>
 P2: <Thomas and Cyril standing inside in front of a large, messy and deteriorated room. The walls are largely bare plaster and sheet rock, with plenty of holes and crumbled spots showing infrastructure to the building. Cables, papers, boxes and other garbage is strewn across the cement floor, and the furniture consists of a large, torn up couch across the room, with its back to the door, a couple stools, and a pair of large, metal operating tables. A couple doors lead out of the room, and there is indeed a desk with a sleek, high-tech looking desktop on it.>
<New Page>
P1: <The door is shut with a loud ‘slam’ behind the boys, who turn abruptly to see the man, Jack, who did so. This man is short-haired, wearing double-breasted, distressed scrubs and tinted glasses.>
 P2: “So Leonard, this is what you brought me…” <Jack muses, approaching the boys nonchalantly and adjusting his glasses>
 P3: “You found these two gorgeous boys at the C.P.A.?” <Says a girl emerging from one of the other doors, about sixteen years old with dyed pink hair in pigtails/bunches, black halter top with a pink heart on it, dark pink hot pants, and knee-length boots> “But they’re so cute! Do you have to cut them up Jack?”
 P4: “It’s Jacques you imbeciles. And I’m afraid personal affections cannot stand in the path of progress Molly.” <Jack/Jacques says with a sigh, his hands behind his back and standing in front of Thomas and Cyril now>
<New Page>
P1: “Can I at least keep one of them?” <Molly asks pleadingly, with her hands clasped together>
 P2: “Oh, but then I couldn’t decide! The blond looks like more fun to play with…” <Molly, hyperactively throwing her arms around Thomas>
  P3: “But the black-haired one is so pretty that I’d never get tired of dressing him up!” <Molly adds, still holding Thomas, but looking over at Cyril fancifully>
 P4: “He has worn a dress before.” <Thomas adds mischievously, not looking particularly concerned by the situation>
 “Really!?” <Molly asks optimistically>
 “TOM!” <Cyril shouts indignantly, blushing>
<New Page>
P1: “Enough of this foolishness.” <Jacques exclaims with irritation> “Molly, Leonard, do your jobs.”
 P2: “Fiiiine, sorry blondie.” <Molly groans, reaching down to her belt with one hand>
 P3: <Leonard and Molly hold Cyril and Thomas, respectively, at gun point; Molly’s aimed at Thomas’ head and Leonard’s aimed into Cyril’s back>
 P4: “What exactly are you intending to do with us?” <Thomas asks>
<New Page>
P1: “Biological experiments. I’m searching for a way to help us survive this dying world, without losing our humanity.” <Jacques explains> “Unfortunately finding volunteers is difficult, what with the obsession with machines our culture has. So I make the volunteering decisions for them.”
 P2: “I see, and has anyone survived? Sounds more like you’re cutting people open and extracting their organs.” <Thomas replies, in casual and friendly way that’s ignorant of the gun pointing at him>
 P3: “That is precisely what I’m doing. I take the organs, try to modify them, and expose them to the environment. What I need is something that can resist the toxins, then I can work on applying that modification to everyone.” <Jacques replies>
<New Page>
P1: “Overlooking the people you’ve killed to get to that place to begin with.” <Thomas replies>
 “Desperate times call for desperate measures I’m afraid. Now enough talk; how would you like to begin?” <Jacques asks>
P2: “Meaning?” <Cyril asks>
 P3: “I’m no barbarian, my boy, I’ll allow you to choose a gentle descent into permanent slumber with a simple formula I’ve created. Having you shot risks causing damage to your components.”
 P4: “Just one more question; what are these two to you?” <Thomas asks, gesturing to Molly and Leonard>
 P5: “My siblings, unfortunately. None too bright, but family nonetheless.” <Jacques explains with slight disappointment>
<New Page>
P1: “I see, in that case I apologize Molly…” <Thomas begins>
 P2: <Thomas whirls around faster than any of the humans can react and his cane transforms into a sword, which he holds to Molly’s neck>
 P3: “How did you-?” <Molly asks, while Leonard and Jacques express shock at the turn of events>
 P4: “I’m not exactly human. Now you, Leonard, lower your gun.” <Thomas orders sharply, glancing over slightly at the man>
 “Please do as he says Lenny, you have no idea how sharp this thing is.” <Molly insists nervously, the edge of the sword lightly touching her neck and drawing a little blood>
 P5: “Uh… Jack, should I?” <Leonard asks, looking unsure of himself>
<New Page>
P1: “I… uh, this has never happened before…” <Jacques, his confidence completely gone>
 P2: “Jack!” <Molly shouts desperately>
 P3: “Alright! Leonard, do as he says.” <Jacques, looking very anxious>
 P4: <Leonard lowers his gun>
 P5: <Thomas swiftly dashes across the room, nearly a blur, and punches Leonard, and then Jacques in the gut>
<New Page>
P1: <Leonard and Jacques collapse>
 P2: “Wh-what happened?” <Molly nervously>
 P3: “Just a little sleep spell. I’m surprised it worked actually, any sort of conscious or unconscious resistance tends to make sleep spells useless.” <Thomas, taking a coil of rope from his pocket>
 P4: “Well they were up late last- wait, what do you mean spell?” <Molly with great confusion>
<New Page>
P1: “Okay Cyril, take this and tie those two up.” <Thomas, handing the rope to Cyril> “Use some strong knots.”
 “Got it.”
 “Hey! Are you listening to me!?” <Molly yells angrily>
 P2: “Oh, and take this too.” <Thomas adds, handing Cyril a gun>
 “Hey! That’s mine!” <Molly cries indignantly>
 P3: “What about her?” <Cyril asking, pointing to a fuming Molly>
  “Leave her, we’ll need a guide.” <Thomas pulling back the computer chair> “Now, let’s get caught up.”
