that woman

that woman next to me

my hand in hers

as together we walk

together we stumble

together we laugh

together we cry

that woman next to me

makes me angry

makes me happy

makes me smile

that woman next to me

the one that holds me when i’m lonely

befriends me when all others have fled

takes the worst of me as well as the good

that woman’ next to me

finally after all this time
