Part Two! Low-key hate how both Lances turned out but whateves.

Focus Drown: Lance can enforce a feeling of being underwater on himself and/or others. When used on himself it improves his focus, agility, dexterity, strength, aim, and his senses, except for hearing which is tremendously reduced. If he uses it on others, it replicates the feeling of losing consciousness while floating underwater (that is a terribly distorting feeling and I hope no one can relate to that). The drawbacks of using his quirk too much are excessive sweating, poor circulation (cold), and symptoms of depression (numbness, lethargy, derealization-dissociation).

Lance is one of the few lucky students in attendance of UALA (Yuuei Los Angeles) that was selected for a study abroad at UA Japan. While excited to travel and be selected for this once in a lifetime opportunity, he also worries about being so far away from his family. He’ll also need to practice his Japanese for the year-long study.

While Lance’s quirk by itself with his hand-to-hand combat skills would work just fine for hero business, there are always going to be scenarios where more is needed. After a long chat with his home room teacher, Adam West, they agreed that a lethal weapon (or two) would be licensed to him. After testing out a couple tools, Lance chose a long-range rifle and a retractable (concealable) sword. While Lance is still working on his swordsmanship, he took to the rifle like a fish to water. Adam will never tell him this, but he nominated Lance for the abroad program after hearing about another pro hero named Snipe over there who exclusively uses guns.

From a fanfic-writing perspective, One Piece is incredibly frustrating on a few counts.

The first is that... One Piece is actually pretty damn good, as far as stories go. So trying to nudge it into something "better" is pretty much a lost cause overall.

The second is that One Piece has this huge and incredible world that's filled with lots and lots of things... that we never see. As in, outside of the very local environment of the Strawhats, the world is incredibly vast and largely empty.

Basically? Because of OP's good story-telling, it's really difficult to really add someone new to the Strawhat-crew. But because everything outside of the Strawhats are both incredibly unknown (in the Grand Line anything can happen) and incredibly disconnected (the world is too big for people to really stumble into the plot "accidentally" with any frequency)?

Trying to write a non-Strawhat fanfic is a bit like just... inventing an entirely new world of vaguely pirate-themed shenanigans from scratch. It ain't fucking easy, is basically what I'm saying.

So the Gerudo women aren't like salamanders, they actually need other cultures' men to have children and raise their numbers. The fact that only one Gerudo man is born every century means that either the Gerudo can only bear daughters, or if they have children who are men, they're not Gerudo. They don't have the Gerudo traits like the dark skin, the red hair and the tallness (and in some iterations the round ears).

A friend of mine proposed that the Gerudo traits are actually carried primarily by the X chromosome of Gerudo mothers, therefore passed onto mostly to AFAB people, and a Gerudo male would actually be intersex, which is why they are so rare.

Sure, we don't apply genetic science to fantasy, but I thought it was a fun thinkpiece. Intersex Ganondorf!

it’s kind of sad how aizawa seems to be the only teacher/adult to see through katsuki. everyone else teases him and makes light of him being a grump but he’s been through so much shit and still persists and then he gets called aggressive and intense in his pursuit of what he wants. and to top it all off he’s being gaslight by his favorite hero and deku… man. i want everybody to leave him alone

What if Hashirama's theatrical depression fits are actually a mechanism that he learned in order to be able to express his sadness at all? Like, being down in a "serious" way could give him a beating from Butsuma because "it's shameful for a ninja to cry" and this kind of BS. So Hashi rather than repress these feelings began to crank up their expression to 300% and make an absolute show of himself every time he felt bad. This way, Butsuma could now say "my son is f*cking stupid" but it didn't carry as much condemnation as "my son is weak".
