Excluding Cisgender Men from your spaces requires Transgender Men to out themselves if they want to engage (Same for Women)

Anyone can be Non-Binary, there is no "look" or requirement

Non-binary masculine presenting people should be welcome in queer spaces, many are just treated as men and predators

Non-binary feminine presenting people should be welcome in queer spaces without being seen as "Woman-Lite"

use "binary" pronouns in any capacity

identify partially with a binary gender

have a "gendered" name

don't experience body dysmorphia

don't experience gender dysphoria

DO experience gender dysphoria/body dysmorphia but aren't sure what gender or body would suit them

just experience body/gender apathy instead

can't be open about their gender identity yet

if someone says they are queer, they are queer.

no ifs, ands, buts, etc. they are queer.

and if they discover later that they're cishet, great, amazing, wonderful, i'm glad we gave them community when they were figuring themselves out and needed it.

sometimes I feel like some queer people just reinvented more binary norms to ascribe to. yk? like. I see conversations fairly often where someone’s like “I feel this way and I say I’m (x) gender” and then there’s a whole comment section about “that experience you described isn’t (x) gender, it’s (y) gender by definition” and like. I feel like we lost the plot

the point of creating new labels isn’t actually creating new boxes to fit people in, the *point* is to make someone more comfortable. If someone’s feels like they have multiple genders at once, but they want to call themselves nonbinary instead of bigender because that's what makes them happiest, that’s the whole point of creating new labels in the first place. At its core, the queer movement is supposed to encompass do what makes you feel good. So, do what makes you feel good.

I feel like a lot of people are acting on the ideology of queerness without actually realizing the idea in your brain that being queer is about finding self expression that fulfills you. When you don’t, it comes out hollow, and it affects your activism. Queer labels aren’t rigid barriers, and you don’t have a right to say anyone else can or cannot identify with literally anything they want. The whole point is that, to exist as a human is nonlinear and nebulous, and queerness as an ideology is based around allowing for expression of a diverse, nuanced experience.

One of the really cool things that I've seen from this community are the events or projects that you all participate in. Recently there's been the Sabine Flyover and Trans Trading Card Collection, but there's one that took place last year that I missed the boat on as I wasn't publicly out yet...

...Trans Prom!

So I'm like, wildly late to this, but I've been working on my feminine presentation. I've been having an issue with embarrassment over the thought of myself in certain clothes since my frame doesn't really fit yet (or I just lack the confidence right now), and that's translated into me drawing myself as embarrassed when wearing traditionally feminine clothes.

Sooooooo I applied a concept I learned from reading a certain comic by a certain @lynnsenpai and gave myself a jacket... suddenly I don't feel nearly as embarrassed!

So here's me rocking out in my trans prom dress.

I never went to my prom, I went to my fencing club that night lol.
