also one of her titles is "Pirate Queen" and another is "Pirate King." one is technically dlc but it comes with definitive and it IS her best costume (fight me), so she has at least two genders and thats that on that

Don Whitehorse telling patty she looks just like her grandfather even though she looks nothing like seifer so he's definitely talking about aifread but he has no reason to lie to patty about her grandparent's gender and it's never implied that aifread's gender was concealed just that ppl assumed seifer was aifread so ???

This is one of the multi-posts that will give you insights into where the inspirations came from (For both Namco Bandai team and my story). Some of them were obvious and some of them were not:

Claudin Asgard  (クローディン・アスガード) 

King Claudas is a fictional Frankish king and an opponent to King Arthur, Lancelot, and Bors in Arthurian literature. (In Berseria, Claudin was Arthur’s mentor and father figure. In my story, the role of being his adversary was given to his son, Avernus, and will be continued in the future stories)

Asgard is the realm of the Nine Worlds surrounding the tree Yggdrasil. In Norse Mythology, Asgard is a fortified home to the Aesir tribe of gods located in the sky.

Artorius Collbrande (アルトリウス・コールブランド) 

Artorius, better known in legend as King Arthur, was a leader of ancient Britons who ruled as High King from his fortress at Camlann in the region of Logres that would become Somerset with Gwenhynfar as his queen. Artorius was the son of Uther, uncle of Modred and half-brother to Morgana. 

A Roman military commander and historical figure by the name of  Lucius Artorius Castus (fl. 2nd century AD) is said to be the base of King Arthur’s legend.

Magilou Mayvin (Majigigika Myrddin d’Din Norrun Du (マジギギカ・ミルディン・ド・ディン・ノルルン・ドゥ ) and Melchior Mayvin ( メルキオル・メーヴィン)

Merlin (Welsh: Myrddin, Cornish: Marzhin, Breton: Merzhin) is a legendary figure who was a wizard that helped King Arthur. The name "Merlin" is derived from the Welsh Myrddin, the bard’s name, one of the chief sources for the later legendary figure.

In Berseria, both Magilou and Melchior’s characters were based on Merlin.

Percival Il Mid Asgard (パーシバル・イル・ミッド・アスガード) 

Percival is one of King Arthur's legendary Knights of the Round Table. First made famous by the French author Chretien de Troyes in the tale Perceval, the Story of the Grail, he is best known for being the original hero in the Grail’s quest, before being replaced in later English and French literature by Galahad.

Van Aifread (バン・アイフリード) 

Ban (Van) is the King of Benwick or Benoic in Arthurian legend. First appearing by this name in the Lancelot proper part of the Vulgate Cycle, he is Sir Lancelot’s father and Sir Hector de Maris, the brother of King Bors, and an early ally of King Arthur. 

Benwick (ベンウイック) 

The kingdom which Ban ruled.

House of Dragonia (ドラゴニア)

Based on Lancelot Dragoina, he is one of the Knights of the Round Table in Arthurian legend. He is typically depicted as King Arthur's greatest companion and one of his greatest knights. According to legend, Lancelot is the orphaned son of King Ban of Benwick, raised in the fairy realm by the Lady of the Lake. He then becomes the lord of Joyous Gard, the greatest swordsman and jouster as the knight with the most martial prowess of the age. When his adulterous affair with Queen Guinevere is discovered, it causes a civil war that is exploited by Mordred to end Arthur's kingdom.

In the upcoming ABX2, Lancelot Dragonia is the sworn enemy and nemesis of Avernus, following the discovery of his brother and sister’s cause of death.

The Hyland Kingdom (ハイランド家)

Said to be the site of one of King Arthur’s Twelve Battles, the Caledonian Forest in Scotland was apparently bewitched into a moving army of trees. Estimated to have once covered thousands of square miles, the remnants that exist today are the ancient descendants of this spectacular forest. 

Lohengrin (ローグリン家) 

The son of Percival, he is a knight of the Holy Grail sent in a boat pulled by swans to rescue a maiden who can never ask his identity.

Velvet Crowe  (ベルベット・クラウ)

One of her Welsh/Celtic inspirations are as follows (I had a long and interesting conversation with someone who didn’t accept that Velvet’s character was inspired by Morgan):

Morgan Le Fay (Morgana)  Arthur’s half-sister, the daughter of Arthur’s mother Igraine and her first husband, the Duke of Cornwall. She is also presented as an adversary of Arthur’s: she gives Excalibur (Caliburn) to her lover Accolon so he can use it against King Arthur (a story retold in Madison J. Cawein’s poem Accolon of Gaul). Morgan is said to be the first of nine sisters who rule The Fortunate Isle or the Isle of Apples and is presented as a healer and a shape-changer. 

Velvet Crowe’s other characteristics related to Morgan:

Velvet is considered to be Arthur’s sister, and later is his adversary.

Morgan’s outfit is said to be velvet and chiffon, usually in red and black.

Aball, Village of Longing (郷愁誘う村 アバル) means Avalon or the Island of Apples. The place which is home to Morgan. In Berseria, it is Velvet’s home.

Crow is Morgan’s bird signature. 

Morgan is famously known for being a sorceress and witch, but Velvet doesn’t carry those traits.

P.S. inspired and based on doesn’t mean you have to copy the character entirely. Like Meliodas from 7 deadly sins inspired by King Meliodas and Arthurian legend, and everyone knows it. It doesn’t mean that King Meliodas had to be Dragon’s Sin of Wrath in Arthurian legend.

If some of you still don’t see the connection and don’t want to, it’s your choice. Don’t scream and yell that “No, I see Thanos in Velvet.” Good on you, but it doesn’t change the fact that Morgan’s roles inspired her in Arthurian legends.

 Learn your lessons and be open to learning.

Also, about ABX2, yeah. It might happen, and it will definitely be an M-Rated story since the plot is entirely original. I will wait and see if enough readers are interested before I begin.

Fun thing about Patty is how she's basically the crazy grandma of the group, but only like 2% of the time

She's an active, good natured, kinda silly girl who misses social cues, has no concept of age, misunderstands even a monster's intend and goes digging for treasure in a desert where she ends up swimming through the sand like it's water...but when needed she can really show that she's lived a long life and has experienced the world many times more than her friends

And the switch between silly girl and silly grandma is so well done when it happens that it surprises me actually because I forget how old she really is sometimes.

She gives Flynn great life advice in Aurnion and just her demeanor makes him take her absolutely serious, even though she herself says multiple times she's not who she used to be and restarted her life after the Black Hope incident.

I think Flynn - who gets most of her advice and is probably her honorary grandson at this point, rivals in love they may be according to her - forgets she's actually older than him until she starts showing it actively and the others, even though they know, only really remember it after you fight Ohma which is a completely optional fight.

As Yuri says, they only know Patty Fleur, not Siren's Fang boss and Pirate Queen Aifread.

And I love that about her. She's such an old lady that her behavior goes straight back to juvenile, at her age she doesn't give a shit anymore.

Hmm??? Ahh, that’s Aifread, isn’t it? Mareki’s lover and all that or something? … She’s gonna follow the pirate as Aifread headed to Mareki’s room. Nothing to see here, just a curious teenager.

Who’s usually the first to fall asleep: you or your F/O?’ Eizen always falls asleep last. He all watchin over and protecting an shit. 

Who sleeps on which side of the bed? Side?? What side?? Sleep in the fucking middle curled up with one another.

What are some of your F/O’s sleeping habits? Eizen rarely sleeps. But when he does however, he drapes himself over Neptis and tends to shift positions if he’s sleeping alone. 

What are some of your sleeping habits that your F/O finds endearing? The cuddling in his sleep is definitely something Neptis finds endearing and how peaceful he looks when he sleeps. 

Are you and your F/O light sleepers or heavy sleepers? Both are... light sleepers but on the ship during calm waters, good fucking luck waking them up. 

What position do you and your F/O usually go to sleep in? How about your positions you usually wake up in? Falls asleep next to one another, not really in any sort of position. Wake up: Eizen - Big Spoon Neptis - Little Spoon

Do either of you steal the sheets in your sleep? Nope!

Do you or your F/O sleep with a stuffed toy? If yes, what is it? Does it have a name? Nope, neither of them sleep with a stuffed toy. Eizen himself is already a big teddy bear.

How do you and your F/O fit on the bed? Is there a lot of space? Little space? What’s the bed size? If the first mate quarters doesn’t have a pretty decently sized bed, are you really living? Its at least a Queen size because Aifread don’t play when it comes to luxury. 

What’s you and your F/O’s nighttime ritual? Both of them stripping down to more comfortable sleepwear, whether it be underclothes or the actual pajamas they have. Getting under the covers silently, enjoying the presence of one another, ready to drift off to a hopefully peaceful rest. 

How does your F/O say good night to you? starts crying  Eizen will take Neptis’ face in his hands, quiet soft kisses placed on her forehead, then both of her cheeks and finally a longer more passionate kiss fully on her lips before whispering goodnight. 

How many pillows do you and your F/O sleep with? Eizen sleeps with a maximum of 2 pillows. 

What do the bedsheets smell like? The bedsheets smell like a good combination of frankincense, sandal wood, and ocean.  

Do you and/ your F/O sleep with some kind of background noise (ex. music, white noise…) or do you/ they prefer silence? Both prefer silence after being around a rowdy crew all the time. 

How long did it take for you and your F/O to feel comfortable sharing a bed? It took them a while but after Neptis kept having nightmare, after nightmare, after nightmare.. She mustered up the courage to ask if they could stay in the same room as Eizen and it just migrated to them sharing a bed. 

When/ How did you end up sharing a bed with your F/O for the first time? What was it like? I answered a bit of this in the question above, but for the both of them, it was a bit awkward at first but they slowly eased into it; finding peace with the other’s presence. 

How does your F/O react when you’re away and unable to sleep with them? How about vice versa? They’re rarely away from one another so i couldn’t answer this. 

Do you or your F/O sleeptalk? If yes, what are some memorable things that were said? What about snoring or drooling? Neptis will whimper in their sleep if she’s on the verge of having a nightmare but that’s ‘bout it. 

How early/ late do you and your F/O head off to bed? Depends on what’s gone down, but later in the evening.

Who’s usually the first to fall asleep: you or your F/O? Neptis hands down. She gets exhausted easily. 

What are mornings like, waking up to your F/O? Mornings are usually lazy with both of them laying around in bed until they are forced to get up to do tasks.

List of nicknames and all the meanings I smashed together to make them (or not)

Yuri; Yuuri---how his name was pronounced originally and would be written as, no actual meaning except for lily in Japanese really, should probably change his nickname to fit his border symbol better but I'm attached to Yuuri so whatever.

Estelle; Luna---moon in Latin, she's the Child of the Full Moon which is reflected in her symbol though I couldn't find a good way to add star into the nickname so it stays as Luna.

Repede; Inaken---ina comes from inazuma (lightning in Japanese), and ken comes from tanken (dagger in Japanese, also his symbol), he has lightning motifs in his design as his scar and tail, and is the fastest party member in Vesperia.

Seifer; Mareki---mare is latin for sea and ki comes from kiba (fang in Japanese), he is, after all, a pirate and Aifread’s trusted first mate.

Lyra; Dolgari---dol comes from dolce, which means to play sweetly and softly, and gari comes from fengari (moon in Greek). She’s a Child of the Full Moon and is very sweet and cute with a great love for music.

Luke; Hiyoko---hi can be written in the kanji for fire and his name means "light of the sacred flame", hiyoko by itself is chick in Japanese which he technically is because he's been mother henned and he's also actually seven so he's baby.

Spiritua; Marum---malak (angel in Arabic) and aurum (gold in Greek), her status is of an angel, and the color that her wings take is a beautiful gold color. She will also make sure that justice is served, and would not mind breaking a few laws for that purpose.

Nidhogg; Kairyo---kai comes from kaiju (monster) and ryo is altered from ryuu (dragon), it quite literally is both of these as ruinators are monsters and Nidhogg takes very much after its namesake.

Wilardo; Oplos---gun in Greek without the s, that's literally it, I'm pretty sure the s is just there to make it sound better.

Efina; Ryuusa---ryuu is dragon while usa comes from usagi (rabbit) which her head ribbons resemble, usa is also intended to be altered from uso (lie) like the lies she's born to eat.

Sakura; Yinghua---which is just sakura in Chinese. Though her homeland is based in Japan, her name is already Japanese, so I went for Chinese because it sounds nice and Honkai Impact 3 originated in China anyways.

Bronya; Volk---wolf in Russian, she was born in Russia and had the nickname "Silver Wolf of the Urals" the first time she was a child soldier, but she loves Homu so much that ended up being her symbol instead of a wolf, so she's one of the very few whose nickname has no relation to their symbol.

Mei; Murai---murasaki (purple in Japanese) and raiten (thunder and lightning in Japanese), her color scheme tends to lean towards purple and she is the Herrscher of Lightning. When using her Herrscher powers, the lightning is purple. 

Sirin; Tsarian---tsaritsa (queen in Russian) and angel. As a Herrscher, she is effectively God’s angel in her world, and has been given though power by God to boost her ego enough that she calls herself the queen of Honkai.

Froze; Koori---ice in Japanese, fits her name and the fact that her favorite food is frozen yogurt, hence her symbol.

Ruphas; Maftera---comes from mavros (black in Greek), ftero (feather), and pteryga (wing), her black wings are pretty much the best way to identify her.

Ai; Gaifuka---music note in Japanese (gakufu) but altered to sound like a reasonable nickname. If I had another reason for the nickname, I don't remember it.

Akira; Seiki---seishin (spirit in Japanese) and setsueki (blood in Japanese), his power is Bloodmetry, touching blood will allow him to see a vision in the past that caused a strong emotion, and he hunts down spirits in order to purify them and save his sister during the game.

Letty; Ameko---ame is candy in Japanese and ko means child, she loves candy and sweets, it's pretty fitting.

Rick; Shihato---comes from shiro (white) and hato (dove), he sacrifices himself to ensure Letty's safety, a dove's the animal drawn on his rules list in his and Letty's room, and it can also be assumed that he has wondered if he only exists because of Letty's love.

Misane; Nekoro---comes from neko (cat) which is her favorite animal and her BitPhones are shaped like cat ears, and kokoro (heart) which is the kanji that her first name is written as.

Kay; Karasu---crow in Japanese, she's the second-generation Yatagarasu (three-legged crow), the end of her scarf is in the shape of a bird's wing, and she's about as chaotic as a crow.

Ryuuga; Gintatsu---comes from gin (silver) for the color of their hair, and tatsu (dragon) from one of the two symbols they have.

Polka; Theoma---comes from theos (god in Greek), and ptoma (corpse), it's quite literally his title of Corpse God but backwards and mashed together.

Misaki; Aimara---comes from ai (love in Japanese), aima (blood in Greek), and arachni (spider), apparently her assassination target fighting back earns her admiration/love though she still does kill them (or end up getting killed in Polka's case), and her shawl has a spider web print on the back of it.

Kou; Raikotsu---comes from raiten (thunder and lightning) and kotsu-anzen, his exorcist arts activate and look like lightning, and a kotsu-anzen is an omamori for traffic safety, which is the type of omamori that Kou wears as an earring.

Harpae; Argel---haarburste (hairbrush in German) and mirror (spiegel in German), her hairbrush is her Regalia and she dislikes looking into mirror because they reveal her true form, which is also why she went blind. Argel itself is a Welsh name meaning refuge, which is what she tried to be for Goldia.

Kon; Kisai---kitsune and kasai (an alternate world for fire in Japanese), as a kitsune, she’s skilled with both illusions and fire. 

Titania; Neraias---neraida (fairy in Greek) and vasilias (king in Greek), though they are called demons by humans, their species were once called fae in the past. Additionally, they hold the position of Demon King within their realm. 

Imigo; Nikane---ni (two in Japanese) and kane (bell in Japanese), comes from the fact that he’s a twin and that the bell he has in his hair was what allowed Mai to enter the higanbana garden and find what she needed.
