Vegan Recipes Made with Love from Bo’s Kitchen

 Delightful delicious tasty sounding recipes beautifully illustrated with gorgeous photographs to showcase this vegan cookbook filled with recipes I wouldn’t mind trying.

 What I liked:

* The introduction to the cookbook and the author

* The way the recipes are set up and that they seem easy to follow

* That most ingredients are easy to find in most countries – though not currently here in Lebanon

* That there are basics like how to make plant milks and other stapes

* The breakdown of the chapters

* The variety and creativity of the recipes

* That the recipes appear to be ones that children and adults would like

* That there were several recipes I would like to try making

 What I didn’t like:

* That there is no nutritional information with the recipes

* That not every ingredient is available where I live (small village in Lebanon)

Diddy, P-diddy ou Puff daddy é um produtor MUITO famoso, vocês com certeza já ouviram alguma música com o nome dele ou produzida por ele. Algumas são:

Umbrella da rihanna, Crazy in love da beyonce, Tiktok da kesha que tem aquele trecho "wake up in the morning felling like P-DIDDY"

Enfim o cara é ENORME, porém na última segunda-feira (16), ele acusado de tráfico sexual, extorsão, sequestro, trabalho forçado, suborno e outros crimes.

Então agora bora entrar em mais detalhes sobre esse homem ridículo e todas as teorias e fatos em torno dele.

Cassie Ventura

Essa mulher era nada mais nada menos do que a ESPOSA do diddy, eles se conheceram ali por volta dos anos 2000 e desde então tiveram o relacionamento MAIS TÓXICO POSSÍVEL, inclusive quando ela tentou terminar com ele, ele trancou ela dentro de casa.

No começo, ela era taxada de maluca por "falta de provas" mas foi vazado um certo vídeo em um corredor de hotel onde ela a cassie estava tentando fugir do diddy, mas ele simplesmente ESPANCOU ELA e depois saiu arrastando ela para dentro do quarto.

Ela também contou que ele obrigava ela a transar com prostitutos para ele ficar lá vendo, e com ctz deve ter tido mais abusos.

Mas essa diva não iria ficar calada meus amores, ela foi uma das principais chaves para a queda do seu ex-marido. Depois que esse vídeo foi vazado, o diddy postou um pedido de desculpas, MAS oque ele não esperava é que várias pessoas ganhariam coragem e iriam expor os crimes dele!! Por isso a cassie foi importante, ela encorajou as vítimas a falarem sobre os abusos.

As festas do diddy

Diddy também era conhecido por dar festas  conhecidas como "freak offs", festas organizadas com perfomances sexuais orquestradas.

Diversos famosos como Lebron James, Travis Scott, The Wekeend, as Kardashians e etc frequentavam essas festas ou eram convidados para elas. O próprio Lebron James e Chloe Kardashian já disseram que "não há festa melhor do que as do diddy".

E o pior, o diddy gravava oque acontecia dentro dessas festas para usar como chantagem, ou seja, se alguém abrisse a boca ele ia lá e vazava os vídeos, ou pior, mandava matar a pessoa.

(Uma informação importante é que quando a polícia foi investigar a casa dele, foi encontrado mais de MIL óleos para bebê, que eram usados como lubrificante)

E falando em mortes, vou falar de algumas que supostamente ele está envolvido.

Tupac e The Notorious BIG

Os dois eram cantores de rap muito famosos nos anos 90, e adivinhem? Os dois morreram!

Eu não vou me aprofundar no caso deles, mas tem um vídeo no youtube do canal "naty e isa" que elas contam mais detalhadamente sobre.

Basicamente, os dois foram baleados por uma gangue, e inclusive o atirador já está preso. Mas é ai que entra o diddy, o atirador afirmou que ele pagou MILHÕES de dólares para a gangue matar o 2pac.

Michael Jackson

O michael eu creio que nem preciso introduzir para vcs, ele é simplesmente MICHAEL JACKSON!

Acontece que o nosso rei do pop fez um discurso muito polêmico, vou deixar aqui para vcs darem uma olhada:

Ele também vivia dizendo sobre estar sendo perseguido, de não quererem mais ele vivo e etc. Também existe uma suposta gravação da última chamada dele, vou deixar o link aqui para vcs assistirem caso se interessem.

Left eye

Lisa Nicole Lopes, mais conhecida como "Left Eye" fazia parte de um girl group chamado TLC que bombou nos anos 90.

Lá pro início dos anos 2000, ela foi fazer algum tipo de retiro espiritual que inclusive, foi TODO registrado em vídeo.

Enfim, o mais bizarro é que a left eye vivia dizendo que um espírito estava atrás dela, que queria mata-lá e etc.

Até que um dia, ela tava dirigindo o seu carro junto da sua equipe para ir em outra cidade buscar suprimentos, quando sem querer (ou não) uma criança foi atropelada, e o sobrenome desse menino era "Lopes" que por coincidência (ou nãokkkk) tinha o mesmo sobrenome dela.

Depois desse acontecimento, ela vivia dizendo que foi o espírito, que ele matou o garoto por engano e que era para ter sido ela no lugar dele.

Dito e feito, ela morreu alguns dias depois em um acidente de carro. Ela foi tentar desviar de alguma coisa ali no meio da estrada e acabou batendo.

Lembram que eu disse que era tudo registrado em vídeo? Pois bem, aqui tá o vídeo do momento que ela morreu, e fiquem tranquilos pq não aparece sangue nem nada do tipo, mas ainda sim é um vídeo perturbador.

Aaliayah

Ela era uma cantora MUITO famosa, gente vcs não tem noção, a mulher era O MOMENTO!

Antes de falar sobre a morte dela, tem uma pessoinha muito importante que também está envolvida, e o nome desse bicho é R.kelly.

Ele também é um produtor musical extremamente famoso e que era bemmm amiguinho do diddy. Oque acontece é que ele era APAIXONADO pela aaliyah, e queria se casar com ela. E não demorou muito para eles realmente se casarem. O estranho é que a aaliyah tinha entre 14/15 anos, enquanto ele tinha mais de 30. "Mas então como eles conseguiram se casar?" Simples, ele forjou os documentos dela e modificou a idade dela para 18 anos! Obviamente a família foi contra, mas não teve jeito.

Ok agora que já expliquei isso, vamos para a morte dela que envolve diversas conspirações.

A nossa diva iria gravar um clipe na ilha de barbados, e para isso ela precisava de um avião não é mesmo? Mas acabou dando algum rolo e não conseguiram um avião, e ai arrumaram um de última hora.

Até ai ok, mas acontece que a aaliyah não queria entrar naquele avião de jeito nenhum, ela era muito paranoica com segurança de voo e não estava confiante em embarcar, mas as vontades dela infelizmente não foram ouvidas e obrigaram ela a entrar no avião. Simplesmente doparam a menina, botaram ela lá dentro a força e adivinhem? O avião misteriosamente caiu!

(Existe uma teoria de que a beyonce mandou matar ela, mas não me aprofundei muito nisso)

E falando em ilha de barbados, existe uma diva pop muito conhecida que veio de lá. Isso mesmo gente, A RIHANNAAA!! Então bora lá entrar no tópico dela.

O jeito estranho que a Rihanna foi descoberta

Que nem o michael jackson, creio que não preciso apresentar a rihanna para vcs né? Enfim, acontece que a forma como a diva pop foi colocada na indústria é bizarra.

Lembrando que isso é uma teoria ok? Não tem nada confirmado.

A rihanna veio da ilha de barbados, e resumidamente o querido jay-z descobriu ela e ficou encantando com a garota, então resolveu colocar ela dentro do seu jato e levá-la para os EUA. Detalhe, ela foi nesse jato SEM OS PAIS DELA, ou seja, ficou sozinha com o jay-z e sabe se lá mais quem. Chegando nos EUA, se eu não me engano trancaram ela em uma sala e disseram "vc não vai sair daqui até assinar esse contrato" ela assinou o contrato as 3h da manhã!

Eu boto minha mão no fogo pra dizer que os próximos a cair são esse casal!

Primeiro o R.Kelly, agora o Diddy, o próximo com certeza é o jay-z, e junto com ele vai a Beyonce.

Inclusive, eles se conheceram quando ela era super novinha, o que é bem estranho. Existe uma gravação que a própria diz "Você (se referindo ao jay-z) me fez uma mulher de verdade".

Como eu disse antes, existe uma teoria de que ela mandou matar a aaliyah pra tirar ela da jogada, entenderam? Mas isso é teoria!

Bom, os fãs da beyonce dizem que ela é vítima e foi obrigada a não falar nada, outros dizem que ela tem dedo nisso sim, e etc. Mas enfim? Oq vcs acham?

Ela é uma modelo super conhecida, que supostamente tbm tem envolvimento nisso tudo.

Ela era bem amiga do diddy e do jeffrey epstein, ou seja, ela frequentava as festas deles!

Justin bieber foi abusado?

Não é novidade que o justin começou sua carreira muito novinho, e como ele era considerado muito lindo, obviamente os abusos iam vir!

Ele já foi assediado diversas vezes por mulheres mais velhas e inclusive já teve nude vazado, tudo isso ainda sendo de menor.

Enfim, a questão é que em 2009 ele passou 48h na casa do diddy, sem supervisão! Existe apenas uma gravação em que ele tá conversando com o diddy, vou deixar ela aqui para vcs verem:

Essa querida namorou o diddy por um tempo e ele foi fundamental no começo da carreira dela como cantora.

E agora com toda essa treta envolvendo o ex dela, estão dizendo que ela vai quebrar o silêncio e contar uma situação bem pesada que ela sofreu na mão desse homem.

Em 1999, ela e o diddy foram presos por conta de um tiroteio que ele estava envolvido. Mas ela se provou inocente e dps de 14h foi liberada. Porém o diddy, o seu guarda costas e outro rapper foram todos acusados do tiroteio.

Misteriosamente, o diddy e o seu guarda costas foram absolvidos enquanto o outro rapper que estava junto pegou nove anos de cadeia.

Massss, porém, contudo, todavia, entretanto, o daily mail afirma que quem levou a arma para o diddy foi a jennifer lopez, e que ela teria testemunhado ele atirando na pessoa e que optou por ficar em silêncio.

Here we go! I have some smaller books to share as well, but I've been absolutely VIBRATING with excitement to share a BIG one, and I'm going to indulge myself and post that today, then figure out words for the rest. Because I bound a new cnovel. Check it out, guys, I bound jwqs/clear and muddy loss of love :D

Let me indulge myself and backtrack a little! First, these are quarto books, so they're short. But I think these average a little under 500 pages each, and jwqs is a LONG book (my beloved), and this adds up to a total eleven inches of lesbians. More like twelve once they're in their cases. It's over a million characters in Chinese and I think the English translation comes in somewhere around 890k, it's HUGE

Making these books was SO FUN, I hadn't read jwqs and still haven't, and will probably read on my phone when I do. I don't have any exciting photos of the typesetting, but I knew this was an imperial succession story, and that made me nervous, those stories don't always click for me. Well, the process of typesetting and adding footnotes for this beast definitely confirmed that I'm going to have a good time with this thing when I have the time to read it, but there was also so much going on that only the vaguest of spoilers sank in. I went into an absolute FRENZY of typesetting, and after I printed, cut and folded it, well. That was one afternoon of sewing. You're looking at the reason I'm scrambling to make up a few hours of missed work, hahaha

After that, I needed cases. At the very beginning of march, I received a shipment of some FASCINATING bookcloth. It's called Duo, and it's made by layering a thin gauzy fabric of one color over paper of a different color. Depending on the combos, you get a really cool range of color-shifting effects. And they've gone out of production! But I was part of a group order to get some of the goods, and hadn't yet finished a new project. Reader, I went for it.

That purple and green is bananas!!!! It's so hard to photograph, this midnight picture of a few cases is one of my most successful attempts to capture the full range up close. Originally I'd been thinking of trying to evoke imperial gold, but I figured this was still the kind of drama and luxury suited the book, and also something something the hidden colors suited Qi Yan's character. I tied it back a little to the imperial gold with the endpapers, then titled them in silver foil, since the endpapers had silver in them.

But once the books were made, I felt like it wanted something... more. Something like a BOX!

And me, I chase novelty. A set this large would be tricky for anything clamshell, but a slipcase for all seven would leave books tipping all over if it was wide open, but putting walls between slots would be demanding in terms of precision and would risk similarly-sized books getting stuck in the wrong slots. Then I remembered learning about slipcases where you could put in a little insert to support the weight of the text block, and the concept SNAPPED into place.

Colors aren't going to photograph well at midnight, but I made the supports using the scraps and off-cuts from my endpapers, to tie it back into the bindings. The back of the case is lined in more of the duo, and the walls are lined with a faux leather bookcloth I like a lot, it feels buttery smooth and seemed like a good neutral material to tie the papers and bookcloth together. I listened to some of the DEEPEST layers from the nine-hour conspiracy theory iceberg video while I was working on this, haha, it was a TRIP.

And in the end, each of the supports is sized to comfortably sit in the smallest of the volumes, and evenly spaced, so I believe it will take the books in any order with no problems. It's easy to grab the books without having to cut notches into the walls to grab them from. And even though weight is less of an issue for quarto sizing, the books in here have their weight supported no matter what angle the box is at! I'm so, so pleased with how this concept worked out and definitely plan to do more with it in the future.

So there we are! Jing Wei Qing Shang! I had such a fabulous time with this project, and I'm so excited to get to share it with all of you. The story was fun to work with, the bindings and box were fun to make, and everything here came together just as well as I could possibly have hoped. I'm so proud of this, and incredibly, incredibly excited to show it to you!

So it's been a while since i posted any books - mostly because i've been hiding my progress like a little sneak.

I just finished this bind last night of The Desert Storm by @blue-sunshine-mauve-morning, or really it's volume 1 out of like ??? 15, maybe. Please take whatever i say with a pinch of salt (I have had 0 sleep for more than 24 hours, and that tends to make me a little very sleep-deprivation drunk a.k.a. unhinged). Okay, on to thoughts! The Desert Storm was foisted onto me by @celestial-sphere-press who told me under no uncertain terms that I WOULD FUCKING LOVE THIS SHIT. Well, I did. This more than 1 million word epic about Ben Fuckin' Kenobi is pretty much god-tier fanfiction. It reads like a goddamn novel. I can never think of canon again without thinking that this good shit should be canon. I read it and then consumed half of it within a week, and I have zero regrets. @blue-sunshine-mauve-morning, i absolutely love you and love your writing. It is the best thing since sliced bread. It is better than sliced bread.

I also had the benefit of @celestial-sphere-press saying, hey would you want to use the typeset? MY GOD, i am grateful. I love this fic, i would have typeset it if it hadn't been typeset but Des did such a beautiful job that i am absolutely in awe and thankful that she and the author allowed others to use it. Look at it - it's so beautiful. I only had to think hey, i just gotta design the cover and et cetera and so the book happened.

I took some inspiration from starblight bindery's lovely desert scape as well as this amazing cover of Dune which i own. I love that the landscape emanates Dune vibes while being oh so Tattooine - just sand and heat, relentless loneliness and melancholy. This fic centres around Obi-Wan Infinite Sadness Kenobi so it needed SAD VIBES TM, which i tried to deliver in desolate landscape form.

Also thank the heavens for Renegade members, who in a masterful stroke of Group Buy Saves Money, managed to source extra-out-of-production colours of Colibri and help a fair number of us get really cool limited edition versions of bookcloth. I am now a proud owner of a lorge stash of Duo and Colibri of which i am now sitting on like a shifty dragon with a hoarding problem. Good luck getting your bookcloth now, Folio Society, ha ha (gloating)! This particular bookcloth is Colibri Copper which has been wholly stashed for The Desert Storm series. I am leaning on transitioning to Malachite for Rise and Fall when I get to it.

The front cover design was done with a stock image and converted to a PNG, which i then fiddled with and did some HTV magic with. It was remarkably easier to weed than expected. I tried something new and ironed the design on the naked bookcloth first before gluing it to the boards, which was a new challenge in making sure everything was aligned.

Endpapers are marbled endpapers (Renato Crepaldi) which I got from Hollanders, which perfectly fit the colour scheme of the bind. The only hiccup was as I was cutting, I realized the sheet was running in the opposite direction of his usual papers and half the size, and only yielded 3 A5 size endpapers and so my heart went noooooooooo. oh well. i guess i will use it for quartos.

Endbands are my favourite - silk in 3 colours in the french doublecore style (as i was binding this i did not have the mental capacity to handle the difficulty of 4 strands). the truth is i usually only can do 4 when I have higher brain function and am willing to spend 80% of my time unraveling it from getting tangled.

I also forgot to mention I had mild fuck-ups, I got glue on the front endpaper which I had to hastily remove with wet cloth, and the back square is preposterously bad but I'm ignoring it for now.

Anyway, i've actually managed to complete a few other binds which have not been mentioned here as they've all been gifts/ surprises or event books in some form. I am SO EXCITED, also because I am travelling in the latter half of July to San Diego and L.A. and I get to meet some bookbinding friends in the flesh. Renegade is fucking amazing y'all. I am ready to embrace these crazy lads who have enabled me for the last 1 year, even when i'm the solitary (1) weirdo from my country of origin in the server. Also... potentially bookbinding trip early next year??? I am enthused.

Pegue pouca coisa para comer, assim provável que mesmo que encha seu prato só um pouco dê a impressão que tem mais comida. Espalhe bem a comida pelo prato, e amasse Bem a comida, distribua bem, e corte em pedaços pequenos. Não tenha medo de encher seu prato da a impressão de estar cheio. “O Reencontro de Ex-Colegas/The Reunion of Former Colleagues”

Era um dia normal na vida dos MKS.. Todos estavam a fazer suas coisas, ou na verdade, se distraindo já que não tinham nenhuma situação de perigo acontecendo. /It was a normal day in the lives of MKS... Everyone was doing their things, or in fact, distracting themselves since there was no dangerous situation happening.

Basicamente: Charlie com os seus planos e Pinkobot ajudando ele. SproutOliver fazendo almoço enquanto Sharon e seu namorado(Nicolas, personagem de @manpleblog), o ajudava. Zina já planejando suas novas aventuras. Marcos arrumando um pouco o seu quarto e lendo seu livro sobre plantas. Franz costurando algumas roupas rasgadas e antigas suas. Primrose e Madeline(também personagem de @manpleblog) estavam tomando um chá. Sabryna fazendo algumas poções novas junto com sua namorada (Celeste, TAMBÉM personagem de @manpleblog). Calopsita na enfermaria testando as poções de cura da Sabryna. Windy na sua casa da árvore, jogando alguns joguinhos junto com Abibas. Axel testando golpes e novas armas (criadas por Charlie) na sala de treinamento. E finalmente, Mel, saindo de casa para regar o jardim de flores de seu filho, também dando comida para as plantas carnívoras que Marcos cultivava. Pq segundo ele, essas plantas iriam fortalecer seu poder de “natureza”, oq Mel claramente não confiava muito, mas ainda fazia questão de cuidar mesmo assim.  /Basically: Charlie with their plans and Pinkobot helping them. SproutOliver making lunch while Sharon and her boyfriend (Nicolas, character from @manpleblog), helped him. Zina is already planning her new adventures. Marcos tidying up his room a little and reading his book about plants. Franz sewing some of her old torn clothes. Primrose and Madeline (also a @manpleblog character) were having tea. Sabryna making some new potions together with her girlfriend (Celeste, ALSO @manpleblog character). Calopsita in the infirmary testing Sabryna's healing potions. Windy in her treehouse, playing some games with Abibas. Axel testing moves and new weapons (created by Charlie) in the training room. And finally, Mel, leaving the house to water their son's flower garden, also giving food to the carnivorous plants that Marcos cultivated. Because according to him, these plants would strengthen his “nature” power, which Mel clearly didn't trust much, but still insisted on taking care of them anyway.

Mel, cuidando ainda do jardim, encontra um amigo que havia conhecido a pouco tempo, mas que já tinha papo e que já tinha criado uma boa afinidade com ele. Ao vê-lo, Mel dá um sorriso e logo acena pra ele. Largando o regador no chão com cuidado e indo em direção ao indivíduo.  /Mel, still taking care of the garden, meets a friend he had met recently, but who had already started chatting and had already created a good rapport with him. Ele vai em direção a Axel, e logo dá um abraço apertado, mas também com gentileza. Mesmo assim, devolve o abraço e descansa a cabeça no seu ombro.  /He goes towards Axel, and then gives him a tight hug, but also with kindness. Axel, ao ouvir aquilo, sentiu um rubor transparecer em seu rosto. Logo se afastou e se virou de costas pro outro homem, tentando esconder um pouco o rubor e pensar em algo pra distrair sua mente. Já David em si, ficou confuso com o que acabou de acontecer, logo levou uma de suas mãos pra coçar um pouco a sua cabeça.  /Axel, upon hearing that, felt a blush appear on his face. Ele diz com um sorriso meio torto e desajeitado. Axel percebe o que realmente fez e volta a realidade, logo se vira, lançando um sorriso também torto e tímido, mas totalmente genuíno, também com um leve rubor em suas bochechas.  /He says with a crooked and awkward smile. Além de não servir, eu vi que não tinha sentido eu estar ali, até porque era você quem me dava uma razão pra continuar, você me fazia cumprir qualquer ordem, me inspirava também a me tornar alguém o suficientemente confiante de que o que eu fazia era bom, era do seu agrado..   /Even more so when you left... Quando eu soube que o motivo de você ter saído era por causa da sua homossexualidade e estava sendo julgado tanto pelos nossos colegas como pelos outros por isso, eu fiz questão de não ficar triste e fazer que, pelo menos no ambiente de trabalho, ninguém poderia ousar a julgar os outros por sua sexualidade, gênero ou cor.  /When I found out that the reason you left was because of your homosexuality and that you were being judged by both our colleagues and others for that, I made a point of not being sad and making sure that, at least in the work environment, no one could dare to judge others by their sexuality, gender or color.

E por último, começaram a quase sempre derramar o meu café “sem querer” na minha mesa de trabalho, sujando várias coisas, que eles sabiam que tinham documentos muito importantes e que com certeza iria me desgastar mais ainda tentando procurar provas para achar os culpados dos crimes.  /First they began to insinuate themselves into calling me a monkey but “discreetly” and treating me like one, giving me “rotten bananas” every day. Then they started questioning me, like I had given the rule not to judge such people, if I was gay or something like that, and they even asked me if I was your boyfriend and that was why you had let me stay in your place. E bom, com isso tudo acontecendo, mais o meu cansaço de ter que ficar quase o dia inteiro naquela delegacia.. Eu decidi sair... Basicamente decidi deixar de ser policial.. E olha, te conta, eu acho que no final, foi uma das melhores escolhas que já fiz, sabia?  /And well, with all this happening, plus my tiredness from having to spend almost the entire day at that police station.. David por outro lado, retribuí o abraço, ele encosta a cabeça no ombro de seu amigo e começa a chorar aos poucos, dando leves fungadas.. Axel, mesmo não sendo muito de chorar e demonstrar tal sentimentos que ele considera de “fraqueza”, ele deixa escorrer uma lágrima de seu olho, apertando mais ainda David e esfregando suas costas, fazendo aquele mesmo carinho que ele fez no começo.  /Upon hearing that, Axel immediately gives David a hug... David, eu posso não ter estado lá pra te ajudar naquele momento, e que esse abraço não seja o suficiente pra te fazer sentir confortado, mas mesmo assim quero ser sincero contigo...  /I feel like it's different with you.. Axel aperta um pouquinho mais seu amigo, David não consegue dizer se quer uma palavra, então faz um carinho em seu cabelo em resposta. Axel dá um leve sorriso ao ver o quão emocionado seu amigo está, ele com certeza nunca tinha visto David assim antes, mas sabia que de alguma forma ou outra que ele ficaria assim, tudo que ele contou para Axel, é uma reação já bem esperada de se ter..  /Axel squeezes his friend tighter, David manages to say no words, so he strokes his hair in response. Descobrindo um pouco mais do passado de Axel e de David, o tal qual Mel tinha conhecido a poucos dias, mas agora já sabia de tudo. E ao presenciar, Mel teve a brilhante idéia de convidar David pra família/grupo MKS... Já que sabia muito bem agora de como ele realmente era e o quão importante foi para Axel..  /Meanwhile....... Mel, in their hidden corner, like a good “silent gossiper”, saw and heard the entire conversation and interaction between the two..... Finished binding @that-banhus's fantastic King of Infinite Space today! You ever get into a pairing fresh out of binging a series and read a fic that just solidifies the characters in your head? Like, they go from "funny lil guy I enjoyed watching on TV" to someone who could be real, someone you could know. That was this fic for me--banhus's Hob is such a delight to read, so vibrant and funny and optimistic. And of course Dream's voice in this is just *chef's kiss* pitch perfect.

SIZE

So this was my first go at a quarto size on legal paper (8.5" x 14"), and I LOVE it. This size is perfect for that 10k-15k range, and with the community imposer designed by the lovely folks at @renegadepublishing (thank you, @simply-sithel and Cocoa!), it was such a breeze to figure out the formatting. (Printing, on the other hand, was a bit of a mess since my printer doesn't do duplex for legal sizes, but I figured it out in the end. And hey, I got a bunch of waste sheets out of it! XD)

BINDING

I did a variation of the paperback format I've seen floating around in the Renegade discord (@ashmouthbooks kindly explained it a few months ago, thank you so much!). French link stitching glued with PVA as per usual, although no tapes or mull.

The cover is made of scrapbook paper and is glued directly to the flyleaf (flyleafs? flyleaves?), although as you can see below I added an extra layer of kraft paper to give it more of a "board" feel:

The pictures in this post are of my second/author copy, with an added a half-centimeter hinge so the spine can open more easily. My first copy did not have a hinge so it's a little stiff when you open it, but it gets the job done baha. Now I know for future binds in this size: hinges are the way to go!

DESIGN (or, as I call it, VibesTM)

The first line of this fic has lived rent-free in my brain for months now: They sat at the New Inn until the afternoon melted into evening, the sunlight thickened to a rich orange, and the late crowd began to trickle into the inn in chattering groups. I remember reading it late at night and immediately sitting up and going "oh hell yeah." This fic gives me that "walking to class in the fall semester and feeling the whole world passing you by and you have books to read and papers to write but you see your friend from across the quad and they wave at you and you wave back and everything is okay, maybe, because the leaves are turning and you're going to make it, dammit, you are going to make it" vibes. So the cover paper is from one of Michael's paper packs, called "Autumn Blaze."

HOWEVER, Banhus also mentioned that the paper looks like a sandy beach, and I'm smacking myself over the head for not doing that intentionally because yes! There's a lovely lovely scene at the end where Dream and Hob are lounging on the shore of the Dreaming and are finally, finally figuring it out, and it's wonderful and so atmospheric and I am 100% going to pretend that my paper choice here was tailored for that scene specifically XD

Titling is permanent adhesive vinyl cut by my Cricut, Charlotte, with hand-drawn "bolding" around each letter done with my uniball Signo white gel pen. And since I've been trying to get better at documenting my fonts, the titling for this one was Perpetua Titling MT, and the body was my go-to Garamond my beloved.

As a bonus, here is my first go at binding this fic, but in quarto letter size instead of legal! Smol :3

‘A bad quarto, in Shakespearean scholarship, is a quarto-sized printed edition of one of Shakespeare's plays that is considered to be unauthorised, and is theorised to have been pirated from a theatrical performance without permission by someone in the audience writing it down as it was spoken or, alternatively, written down later from memory by an actor or group of actors in the cast – the latter process has been termed "memorial reconstruction". Shakespeare Weekend

Continuing our look at The Works of Mr. William Shakespear: in ten volumes published in 1728 by Alexander Pope (1688-1744) and Dr. George Sewell (d. 1726), this week we examine Volume Four and its imprint variation on the title page. Volumes Four, Five, and Nine all include additional booksellers aside from Jacob Tonson (1655-1736).

The imprint for these three volumes reads “Printed for J. Tonson in the Strand; and for J. Darby, A. Bettesworth, and F. Clay, in Trust for Richard, James, and Bethel Wellington”. Richard Wellington Sr. was established in the London book trade during the 1700s, shortly after his death in 1715 his wife Mary assigned his stock of books over to Darby, Bettesworth, and Clay in trust for her three children. How or why Wellington was tied to only volumes four, five, and nine of Pope’s work is unknown to us.  

Volume Four contains a group of Shakespearean history plays including King John, King Richard II, King Henry IV Part I, King Henry IV Part II, and King Henry. Similar to Rowe’s earlier collection, scene divisions, stage directions, dramatis personae, and full-page engravings by either French artist Louis Du Guernier (1677-1716) or Englishman Paul Fourdrinier (1698-1758) precede each play.  

Pope’s editions of Shakespeare were the first attempted to collate all previous publications. He consulted twenty-seven early quartos restoring passages that had been out of print for almost a century while simultaneously removing about 1,560 lines of material that didn’t appeal to him. Some of those lines were degraded to the bottom of the page with his other editorial notes.

Nourishing Vegan Every Day by Amy Lanza

 Living overseas, signed up for another Veganuary, looking for recipes that are easy to make with readily available ingredients…well…thought this book might have some ideas to use this month and in the future. I will say that the photos are gorgeous and plentiful, the recipes organized so ingredients are easy to find and instructions easy to follow, and my mouth did water. And yet, every recipe I read required an ingredient not easy to find in my small village and finding a substitute might not be easy. NO Vegan yogurt, can’t find tofu, protein powder in my dreams, and the list goes on – and here I should probably mention I live in a small village in Lebanon and we don’t drive to Beirut often. Additionally, there is no nutritional information with calorie counts and as I am trying to not regain weight lost…I prefer recipes with nutritional information provided.

 The introduction includes equipment needed, ingredients suggested, answers to common questions, states the purpose of the book, and there is a comprehensive index. I had heard of meals in bowls before and this book has a few pages with options to create your own and how to go about it.

 This is not a cookbook for me due to the reasons mentioned above. It is a beautiful book and would make a nice wedding gift to a vegan couple along with ingredients for a recipe or two and a nice dish, baking pan, serving bowl or item to go with the recipe.

 I did enjoy looking through this book and thinking about making some of the recipes and would like to thank NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds for the ARC – This is my honest review.

An Itemized List of My Correspondence Books

If you've had the misfortune of asking me about my sources, you've gotten the answer of "I don't actually RECOMMEND the books I use." And that's because, with the SOLE exception of Bree NicGarran's correspondence tables in Grovedaughter Witchery, most of these books are full of SUS MATERIAL. We've got "#girlboss Lilith", we've got "general misinformation", we have "no respect for anyone's cultures", we have "historical inaccuracy for the sake of sounding more oppressed", and we even have CHAKRA APPROPRIATION in every single goddamn crystal book I've found. I hate most of the books here with a burning passion, but I'm a sucker for a detailed correspondence list for things, so I use them anyway. So at the end of the day, I am a clown and here is an alphabetized list of my clown shoes.

Charms & Symbols: How to Weave the Power of Ancient Signs and Marks Into Modern Life. Author: Alison Davies. Publisher: Octopus Publishing Group. Additional notes: I don't think I've ever actually referred to this book yet. I've also made a point to go through and write down which symbols are attributed to, you know, groups I can actually learn from, not from closed cultures or religions.

Crystal Prescriptions: The A-Z guide to over 1,200 symptoms and their healing crystals. Author: Judy Hall. Publisher: John Hunt Publishing. Additional notes: Again, I don't think I've ever referred to this book. I don't even believe in healing physical ailments with crystals. Why is this here?

Elements of Witchcraft series. Authors: Astrea Taylor; Dodie Graham McKay; Josephine Winter; Lilith Dorsey. Publisher: Llewellyn. Individual titles: Air Magic; Earth Magic; Fire Magic; Water Magic. Additional notes: These are for the elemental correspondences of specific things, but...again, I don't really use these for the parts where it talks about spells or magical theory or deities.

Plant Witchery: Discover the Sacred Language, Wisdom, and Magic of 200 Plants. Author: Juliet Diaz. Publisher: Hay House. Additional notes: This book came highly recommended to me. I don't care much for the gendering of the reader AND every plant with she/her pronouns. It bothers me, but not enough to dock points. I just wish that some of the more common-in-a-mundane-way plants (such as daylilies) got a bit of a shout-out, but I'm not gonna twitch my nose too hard about it.

Symbols of the Occult: A Directory of over 500 Signs, Symbols and Icons. Author: Eric Chaline. Publishers: Thames & Hudson and Quarto Publishing. Additional notes: Boy do I have OPINIONS on this book and it's that the book is trash, but unfortunately, I am a visual searcher so I need physical depictions of the symbols I'm looking for, and thus I have this. It gets one point back for being very aesthetically pleasing to look at on the outside, which is how I usually regard it.

The Ancient Magick of Trees: Identify & Use Trees in Your Spiritual & Magickal Practice. Author: Gregory Michael Brewer. Publisher: Llewellyn. Additional notes: I've legit never read the non-correspondences parts of this book. I got it literally just because it talks about some American-only trees and other tree books don't. I don't trust it to be well-researched, but at least it's not trying to poison you.

The Astrology Bible: The Definitive Guide to the Zodiac. Author: Judy Hall. Publisher: Sterling Publishing Co. Additional notes: I use these to find what plants and stones and whatnot line up with what zodiac signs and planets.

The Crystal Zodiac: use birthstones to enhance your life. Author: Judy Hall. Publisher: Godsfield Press. Additional notes: Do you see a pattern of me only using Judy Hall's books for correspondences for stones or zodiac signs? I'm just lucky that I haven't had to spend a dime on them, my mom already had these in her collection.

The Encyclopedia of Crystals. Author: Judy Hall. Publishers: Octopus Publishing and Fair Winds Press. Additional notes: See literally the entry right above this one. Again, mostly for crystal identification and correspondences.

The Encyclopedia of Magickal Ingredients: A Wiccan Guide to Spellcasting. Author: Lexa Rosean. Publisher: Simon & Schuster. Additional notes: Ignoring both that this book is from 2005 AND that it's Wiccan-based, it's a hot steaming pile of garbage. There's no indication in most entries about whether a deity or a planet of the same name is being talked about, non-deities are listed in the "ruler" sections, and there is so much appropriation and whatnot in here. Damn. If I was Wiccan, I'd feel ashamed that this book is Wiccan too.

Tree Magic: Connecting with the Spirit & Wisdom of Trees. Author: Sandra Kynes. Publisher: Llewellyn. Additional notes: Like with The Ancient Magick of Trees, I've never read the non-correspondences part of this book. Knowing Llewellyn, it'll be the exact same in both books.
