Qiu Lin x reader
Valentines
Fluff, romantic
———————
You’ve known Qiu is popular since the first day. You’ve known that you’re new. And you’ve known that valentines cards and boxes of chocolates ‘don’t really matter in the long run’ or so your mom has said. But seeing the few simple cards that lay in your hands kind of hurt. A few cards from other kids, but the number stayed the same as most of the class passed out their treats. The class had been passing out their valentines treats in alphabetical order, most having gotten them only for their friends.
The list made its way down to Q, when one of your few friends approached you; Qiu Lin. The apple of your eye, the objects of your affections, and your first crush in fifth grade. You could hear the feet walk across the carpeted floor before seeing them stop in front of your desk as something was placed on top of it. You looked up at them, seeing their cute smile before they walked away to hand out the rest.
While for some, a treat from the Qiu Lin was a simple courtesy, for you it was time stopping. A chocolate bar of your favorite kind and a handmade card. On the brown notebook paper, the same kind that started it all, was a sweet piece of writing. ‘I’m really glad we’re friends! Happy valentines, Qiu Lin.’
The simple card made some blood rush to your face. The only other card that was given to you that day was from Tamarack. It was sweet, but in your heart it didn’t hold a candle to the card from Qiu.
Soon after, school ended. Your small pile of valentines was easy to carry, while Qiu’s larger haul was more impressive. Tamarack’s pile, like yours, wasn’t anything too big. You smiled, catching up to Qiu’s pace. On the top of his pile was a small heart shaped card, the one you had given them. “Thanks for the note, Qiu. And the chocolates…” you said, looking at them before looking forward again. “It’s no problem! Thanks for yours, too.” Qiu gave you a smile also.
All you knew at that moment was that you wanted to spend many more valentines with them. And you would.

(𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚛𝚍 𝙿𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚘𝚗)
It was known by everyone in Golden Grove at this point- MC is an extremely caring kid. Keeping things like basic first-aid and a multitude of snacks on them at all times, just in case something happened and somone needed it. It's been this way since they were a child, the only difference now is they have access to better supplies then the one dollar snacks and cheapest brand of bandages they carried with them as a ten year old.
On top of everything they were a good student with good grades, so- if their friends ever needed help with a subject, they'd always be ready to jump into help. Baxter and Darren had dubbed them the group mom as a joke- seeing them worry over Qiu and Tamarack getting injured in the past, but the nickname kinda just stuck. Them being so caring- it's what made Autumn like them so much back then and even now as teens.
When Qiu was a kid they didn't understand why their heart fluttered seeing MC had ran down from the top of the bridge just to check on them, Baxter, and Darren- but they understood now. They'd never admit it out loud of course, but they knew. It's also the reason they dedicated themself into taking care of MC behind the scenes- knowing they'd forget to do so for themself. They'd always prioritized others over themself, which annoyed Autumn just slighty- but the annoyance wasn't towards them. Of course not. It was towards everyone who kept MC from taking care of themself first.
Even at the current moment they were prioritizing someone else's homework over them eating- having been asked for help during the lunchbreak, to which they'd happily agreed too. Qiu kept a close eye on them, the other student, and the time- which was slowly winding down for when they had to return to classes. With a groan Autumn stood up, heading towards the two quickly but trying to appear nonchalant.
"MC, you've gotta eat. You can help them later, c'mon." they spoke, nudging them with their elbow. MC gave the other student an apologetic smile before standing up to follow Autumn back to their lunch table- as they packed the other student gave harsh glare towards Qiu. Not pleased with being interupted by the socially aclaimed 'Star' of Golden Grove. "Oh sorry [background character], Qiu is right. If you'd like we can meet up at the library after school if you still need help!" MC offered, breaking the other student's harsh glare in an instant as they smiled and accepted the offer quickly.
Autumn rolled their eyes before gently grabbing hold of MC's arm and guiding them to their group's table so they could eat with the little time left before class. "You need to be more careful MC, not everyone wants help. Most people just want you to do the work for them." they warned subtly, sitting down at the same time as the self-sacrificing teen. "Just because you don't trust others doesn't mean I can't treat people with kindness Autumn, thank you for your concern though. It means a lot." they said with a smile before eating their packed lunch- school food sucked.
(𝚃𝚒𝚖𝚎𝚜𝚔𝚒𝚙)
Qiu knew that MC wouldn't be going back to the caul-de-sac this evening with them, judging on how excitable that other student had been when they'd offer afterschool help to them. However as they were riding their bike out of the campus a familiar form jumped in front of their way- a smirk plastered on their face, Autumn was going too fast to stop without hitting them and too close to swerve around them. In a panic to not hurt someone, Qiu tried to turn- causing a loud skirrting sound to echo through the now empty school yard before and even louder crash and thud interrupted it.
The person was unharmed, but Autumn on the other hand- their hands, knees, and the side of their face were litered with scratches from hitting and dragging against the pavement, it even ripped through their jeans slightly. In the distance their bike was crashed into an empty bike rack and flipped- the wheels still spinning.
From a distance an all-to-familiar gasp sounded before quick footsteps approached the person laying around the pavement. Qiu hissed as they tried to get up on their own before being interrupted by familiar, gentle hands grabbing their forearms to keep them from standing. They did however help Autumn get into a sitting position, very slowly mind you. At this point the other student had ran off, but MC knew what happened- they saw it themself, having been exiting the library to hopefully catch the victim before them since the student hadn't shown up yet.
(Qiu's Perspective)
"Autumn- hey are you okay? Oh shit you're all scuffed up, hold on." my head was spinning, but the voice was familiar. "MC?" I asked quietly, squinting slightly as I tried to focus my vision on the person before me. It was definetely them, but it was strange to hear them swear. Were they really that worried? This wasn't the first time I had crashed in front of them, doesn't make it any less embarrasing though. "Yeah, yeah it's me. Keep your eyes closed, you're gonna be dizzy for a bit. Pretty sure you hit your head. If I wasn't so worried I'd be scolding you for not wearing your damn helmet, but that can wait." they said quietly, voice softer than usual.
I listen to their advice of keeping my eyes closed, hearing them tear open a saline wet wipe before feeling them start cleaning the scratches with it. I bit my tongue, hoping to conceal the hisses of pain that the process caused- but they knew it burned. Of course they did. They always did, they're so caring. "Sorry...I know it burns, just- stay still and this will go by faster." they basically whispered, they were close enough that I could feel their breaths just barely graze the side of my face they were focused on currently.
When they backed away and took my hands one at a time, I opened my eyes again- my vision no longer burred as I watched them clean away the small pearls of blood and concrete dust from the scrapes on my hands. After they finished my knees as well, they pulled out gauze, tape, and a box of bandaids. "Seriously?" I mutter out with a teasing smile, taking notice of the bandaids being the same colored ones they used to buy as a kid. "Oh hush- I couldn't control myself. Plus they were cheaper than the name brands." they quickly defended with a playful eye roll as they wrapped my hands with gauze and taped them off one at a time.
"How's your head?" they asked quietly, putting the colorful bandaids over my knees gently with a bit of neosporin. "It hurts, but I'll be alright soon. Thank you MC, for taking care of me like this." I answered with a small genuine smile, something I saved only for those close to me. Gently they smiled back, getting closer with the bandaids for my face. "Always. I'm the mom friend, remember?" they said with a light chuckle as they put the last bandaids on my face carefully. When they pulled away from me slightly, we realized just how close we were as our eyes met. I felt my face and ears heat up slightly, as I blinked rapidly.
Maybe it was the delirium from hitting my head, maybe it was something completely else- but in that moment? I wanted them closer to me, in more ways than one. Quickly I shook my head and looked to the side- MC doing the same, looking to the opposite side as they start to put the remaining medical supplies back into the travel med-kit. Clearing their throat they stood up, grabbing mine and their bags before offering me a hand up- still avoiding eye contact, but I swear... I saw a hint of red on their ears and cheeks.

Omg my gosh. Can i request step 2 tamarack and qiu with a gn mc/reader who is like so smitten with them. And i mean always looking at them with the biggest heart eyes, always lingering with touches and always taking any chance to touch them, doing almost anything for them? They’re so obvious 😭
Author’s note: Hello , Thanks for the request! I found this idea super cute so I hope you enjoy!
Pairing(s): Qiu Lin x MC and Tamarack Bauman x MC
🍂🗒️
Qiu Lin🗒️
They catch on quickly and are smug about it
Qiu probably teases you a little about being so obvious
(They are a hypocrite, Qiu is also head over heels for you. They’re just better at hiding it.)
But deep down inside Qiu’s soul, I feel like they would think MC was just joking around
Giving them love-filled looks, giving them lots of hugs and always having a hand on either their arm or back, etc.
Yeah, just some big practical joke that you’re pulling
If you're the type to be really direct and either straight up tell them that they were like a angel sent down to earth because their greatest sin was being so amazing and their punishment is to roam this cruel earth, reminding everyone who looks at them that they could never compare-
Or just…yuuno. Implying that you have a thing for them
That works just as effectively
Qiu has a soft spot for you, so their touch always lingers on you as well.
-
Qiu and you were sitting around their hideout. They weren’t feeling it at all that morning and wanted to skip. You decided to give them some support by skipping as well, to keep them company.
Mx. Qiu Lin always felt comfortable around you and was happy with your company.
Qiu laid their upper body on the hideout while their lower half hung off it. You were sitting crisscross applesauce while doodling in a notebook, which you should’ve been using to write in your chemistry class right about now.
Qiu took notice of this and asked. “Are you taking notes on something?” They teased a little, sitting up, using their elbows to prop them up.
“Just doodling, Qiu,” you chuckled.
"Oo, lemme see that, please,” Qiu asked, now fully sitting up to properly talk with you.
“….Ok! Just don’t peek at the other pages.”
Qiu snorted while rolling their eyes. “No promises.”
You gave them the notebook, and they looked at the drawing you were working on; it was of a few characters from shows you enjoyed and detailed trees.
Qiu nodded and then flipped the page.
“Wha- , Qiu.” You said , crossing your arms with a fond smile.
“Sorry , I did say no promises.” Qiu started before faltering when they saw the page.
While this page also had drawings of trees and a big, detailed sparrow, a good chunk of the page was occupied with a sketch of Qiu.
They took notice of how you flattered and highlighted their features
their eyes when they crinkle slightly, and their shiny hair.
The teenager took notice of how you even added a little heart near the sketch.
“Oh.” Qiu said, a little blush forming before they closed the notebook. “You're really good at drawing, Y/N.” They complimented.
“It's easy when you have a good muse.” You sighed lovingly.
-
Tamarack Baumann🍂
*twirls her hair* omg, really?
I think Tamarack would be oblivious to it.
She probably thinks you are just really friendly
It mainly stems from her insecurity issues. I mean, how could someone as great as you ever like her? Right?
If anyone told her that you were making heart eyes at her, then she’d think they were trying to pull a prank or something
If you were to heavily hint at her that you had a massive crush on her, then she’d probably think you were being silly
It drives everyone insane, like tearing hair out and clawing out the walls.
Tamarack does have a crush on you too; it's just that her underlying issues with feeling like an outcast make her feel undeserving of you.
You just have to remind and reassure her that you do have a huge crush on her and that she does deserve love.
-
It was late in the evening, and Tamarack was sitting in her room.
She couldn’t sleep today; her mind wouldn’t let her. She was stressing a little and overthinking about an event her orchestra had.
Tamarack was talented; the way she played was different and had a sort of uniqueness to it. She didn’t think the same, though.
Tamarack was about to try and sleep again when a pebble hit her window, startling her.
"Oh, oh.” She quieted down, remembering that her grandparents didn’t have her problem and were fast asleep in the other room. She made her way to the window and opened it to see something in the dark.
It was you.
“Y/N? What are you doing? It's so late.” Tamarack called down as quietly as she could without it turning into a mumble.
“I have something to show you! I know you can’t sleep right now, and I can’t either." You replied. “It will be quick, I promise!” They motioned for the orange-haired girl to come down.
Tamarack looked skeptically but thought that going outside might help her sleep—nothing like a calm nature walk with your neighbor to help.
It didn’t take long for Tamarack to creep down the halls and out the door.
When she came down, you started to walk, motioning for her to follow you. She followed you to your part of the woods.
You crouched down, and Tamarack finally asked after being silent. “What are you looking for?”. You smiled at her and replied. “Just crouch down and see.”
She did and gasped; it was a bunny nest, and a little group of bunnies were all sleeping. “Oh my god! Oh my god, bunnies,” Tamarack said excitedly, cooing at the baby bunnies.
"Cute right? As soon as I found them, I knew you would want to see them too." You smiled, watching Tamarack with sparkles in your eyes. "I-thank you for showing me." Tamarack calmed down a little and was intent on just watching the bunnies. "The bunnies remind me of you, cute and cuddly." You turned to Tamarack with a warm blush on your cheeks.
"..Pft, OK, you jokester." Tamarack deflected with an even warmer blush.
"....."

OH HEY HI HELLO OLNF WRITER!! mwuah love seeing u guys
if ur still taking requests, can you do step 2 tamarack and qiu with a songwriter MC? MC really likes writing about the two, and if you read just a quarter of the lyrics they write , you can just immediately feel the absolute love they hold of their neighbors <3
hey hey hey!! this was such a cute request, i hope you enjoy anon :) (also, sorry i’ve been gone so long… i honestly forgot about this blog ;-;. i’ll be updating it now though, and getting to requests! sorry again <3)
“Muse”
(Step 2) Tamarack Baumann x gn!reader, Qiu Lin x gn!reader
synopsis: Overall, you're very happy with where things are right now. Of course, you can't help the wishful thoughts that your two neighbors would become friends once again, but you're happy just being a part of their life; even if both of their lives exclude the other. However, the only way anyone would find out you weren't content with their (lack of) friendship would be reading through some lyrics you write about your favorite muses.
word count: 2k
You hum to yourself, scribbling out a line from your notebook.
You sigh and sit up, tossing the journal, it landing propped open on the floor with the lyrics ready for anyone to read.
Well... the ones that weren't scribbled out, anyway.
Crossing your legs and resting your head on your chin, you glower down at the journal.
You stay there for a few moments, frustrated.
You see, things have been... different lately. Not bad different, just different. One of the biggest things that made everything different was the fact that your two favorite neighbors are no longer friends.
It wasn't something ever said, just... silently agreed on. You all knew it, they're friends with you but not each other.
Almost every time you run into one when you're with the other, it turns into some sort of argument.
And, if you were being honest, it frustrated you.
Where did it all go wrong?
But you can't let them know, you don't want them to worry about you. So you're fine.
...Right?
"(Name)?"
You jump, eyes wide as you look towards your door left ajar.
Your mother is smiling at you apologetically, realizing she startled you.
"Didn't mean to surprise you."
You shake your head, waving her concern off with your hand. "It's okay. What's up?"
She lets out a soft breath, smiling at you. "Tamarack is downstairs, she wanted to see you."
You instantly brighten at the mention of the golden-haired girl. You spring up, rushing towards the door.
Your mother had foreseen this, so she'd already stepped to the side to let you bound down the stairs.
Grinning, you practically fling open the door, eager to see your adorable neighbor.
Caught off by the sudden movements, Tamarack jumps with wide eyes when your grinning face is suddenly in hers.
“Hey, Tam!” You grin, pulling her in for a hug.
Said girl lets out a slightly flustered yet happy laugh as she’s pulled into quite the bear hug. She pats your back before you pull back, resting your hands on her shoulders.
“Why so excited?” She smiles, tilting her head.
You shrug, ushering her inside and up the creaky stairs to your bedroom. “No reason. I just needed a distraction.”
“From what?”
“Nothing.”
She sighs, shaking her head with a smile that gave everything away as she sat on your bed. You smile back, the sight of her braces making your heart soften.
“So, what’s up?” The sparkly-haired girl perks up, pausing for a moment, before recognition flashes in her ruby red eyes.
“Right! I wanted to ask you about something.” You tilt your head curiously, crossing your arms over your chest as you lean against your wall.
“Are you free tomorrow, after school? Omi wanted your help with moving some furniture.” She smiles bashfully, obviously feeling a little bad about asking.
“Sure,” You shrug. Because of your easygoing nature, Granny was quick to ask you to do her favors; however, she always payed you back in sweets. You’d still help her if she didn’t, though.
Tamarack lets out a relieved sigh, resting a hand on her chest. “Oh, thank you, (Name). I didn’t want to be the only one moving this stuff.”
You laugh, gaze shifting to your desk and the strewn about notes—Qiu’s notes. Right.
You quickly shuffle over to your desk, finding Qiu’s familiar black spiral notebook they always took notes in.
“Hey, Tam, I forgot I needed to return this to Qiu; you can stay though, I’ll only be gone for a moment.”
For the split second you mention Qiu’s name, Tam almost winces. You can’t really blame her, considering Qiu’s rather… cold exterior now, but it still stung to see her look so startled by the name of a friend who used to be so dear to her.
However, when she says okay, you rush out of your room and down the stairs, almost tripping over that one plank that’s always sticking out.
As you pull on your sneakers, you let out a soft, disappointed sigh. Walking out your front door, you can’t help but wonder where it went so wrong; it wasn’t you, was it?
…Was it?
Whatever. What matters is getting Qiu’s notebook back to them before they would rip out your eyes. (Dramatic, you know, but you can’t help but think they might just actually do that).
Honestly, it’s a little funny to think that you’re returning Qiu their notes.
Anyone that knew you—or Qiu—would probably do a double take, since it’s usually you giving Qiu your notes, if they ever actually asked for them. Most of the time it was you forcefully giving them your notes so they can actually pass the class.
However, this was one of the only classes Qiu actually enjoyed—Art History—so when you were out sick on Friday, you knew they’d have the notes.
Anyways, back to reality. You make the short walk down the damp sidewalk to Qiu’s red house. Making your way up onto their porch, you politely ring the doorbell.
It takes a few minutes for the white door to open, only to reveal your favorite bored face in the world.
Qiu raises a brow at your appearance, silently asking “what’s up?”.
To answer their silent question, you extend their shiny black notebook for the world to see. Realization flashes in their brown eyes and they gingerly take the notebook from your hands.
“Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.”
When you smile, they offer a half-smile of their own; though, basically anyone else would probably look at you as if you have three heads if they saw Qiu’s “half-smile”. The only reason you could call it that was because you’ve known them for four years.
At that, you offer them a dorky salute, earning an amused snort from them.
“Gotta go! Get back to Tam.”
Their expression doesn’t change, though a slight glint of disdain flashes in their eyes for a moment. They nod. “Okay. Later.”
You smile and wave before running back to your house, blissfully unaware of what you’d given Qiu.
It wasn’t their notebook, not at all. It was yours. And it wasn’t even for school—it was yours notebook filled with lyrics about—yep, you guessed—Qiu and Tamarack.
But did you know that? Nope!
So you stroll back to your house, much too relaxed, especially considering the embarrassment you’d experience in the future.
But it’s not happening now, so that’s that.
Nothing to concern yourself over.
You hang out with Tamarack for a few more hours, talking about everything and nothing and doing a few homework questions here and there. She asks about any songs you’ve written recently (since she knows about your hobby), but you bashfully avoid the questions, too embarrassed to admit you write about Tamarack herself.
“I gotta use the bathroom, be back in a few.”
The golden haired girl nods in response, crossing her legs as she sits on your bed. As she’s looking around the room, she can’t help the gnawing curiosity at the random crumpled papers strewn about the room.
Knowing she’d probably regret it later, Tamarack wants to look at them. If they’re crumpled, it means they’re scrapped. So it won’t be a big deal if she looks, right?
Just as she’s about to get up, she can hear the doorbell ring.
“Tamarack, dear?”
The sparkly-haired girl perks up at the sound of her name, and she recognizes it as your mother’s voice from just down the hall; probably her bedroom.
“Yes?”
“Would you mind getting the door? I’m in the middle of something.”
“Of course!”
She calls back, hopping off your bed to go down the stairs. In the back of her mind, she’s glad that the doorbell interrupted her from snooping into her friend’s things. She *knows* she’d regret it later.
However, her relief is short-lived, because when she answers the door, she sees a face she hasn’t had a real conversation with in months.
Qiu Lin.
The two stare at each other in a surprised silence for a few moments before Tamarack instinctively narrows her gaze. “…Hi.”
Qiu stares at her for a few seconds before promptly ignoring her greeting, instead peeking behind her shoulder to see if they can see you.
“(Name)’s in the bathroom.” Tamarack answers curtly, crossing her arms over her chest. She can feel that familiar prick of annoyance she always gets whenever Qiu decides that she’s just another fly on the wall.
Qiu’s gaze narrows as they look over to the girl. Upon further inspection, Tamarack notices the slight flush in their cheeks; embarrassment. But why would they be embarrassed when talking to her?
Qiu lets out a short huff and extends the shiny black notebook Tamarack had seen you rush out your bedroom with earlier that day.
“…Give this to (Name).” Is all Qiu says, staring at the floor almost guiltily.
Tamarack can’t help but feel surprised at Qiu actually acknowledging her presence, going as far as to speak to her directly. That hasn’t happened in almost 6 months.
Too surprised to argue, the girl silently takes the notebook from their hands.
“And tell them they can give me my notes tomorrow,” Qiu pauses. “…And that I’m sorry for reading it.”
And then, they’re walking away, back to their house.
Tamarack can only watch their retreating form in a slightly taken-aback silence. That… they said three sentences to her.
Three!
That’s… unheard of.
Tamarack can’t shake the feeling that something is wrong with Qiu; they’re acting so… weird.
As soon as the girl snaps out of her stupor, she looks down at the notebook in her hands.
Confused, she flips it over to the back in her hands as she steps back and closes the door behind her.
When that doesn’t give her any answers, she opens the book to a random page.
She quickly recognizes the familiar scrawl of your handwriting in the page in small phrases.
Tamarack blinks when she sees her name, and under that, a bunch of… lyrics?
…Wait, you wrote a song about her?
Unable to push down her growing curiosity, she flips through the notebook, reading through all the finished and unfinished songs.
She smiles when she imagines your voice singing the particularly sweet ones about her, and just curiously reads what you write about Qiu.
It’s so… heartfelt. Vulnerable. Maybe even a little heartbreaking.
Tamarack can’t help like she’s snuck a cookie from the forbidden cookie jar as she looks through the notebook.
How come you’ve never shared anything with her? You’re so talented.
Then, as she’s flipping through the book, she stops at a particular section; Qiu and Tamarack.
Not just Qiu. Not just Tamarack.
Qiu and Tamarack.
Her name grouped with Qiu’s. Their names, together.
“…Huh?”
She reads a few of the songs, though most seem unfinished, until she ultimately closes the book.
Tamarack’s previous giddiness morphs into a strange combination of sadness and… guilt as she places the notebook back on your desk and plopping onto your bed.
Sure, guilt that she’d read something of yours without your permission, but also guilt about the situation her and Qiu’s problems put you in.
She never even realized…
“Tamarack?”
She snaps her head up, eyes wide at the sound of your voice.
“Uh… you okay?” You frown worriedly, arms crossed over your chest.
The girl nods quickly, getting up in a fluster. “Ah—uh, yeah! Just… remembered I left the stove on.”
You blink. “…You’ve been here for three hours.”
“Uh—yeah! So I should really go turn it off, haha…”
“…”
“…”
You stand in an awkward silence before the girl rushes out of your room and down the stairs, leaving the house in a flash.
You can only watch in a confused silence as she practically runs out of your house, but you shrug and turn around, writing it off as that she’d forgotten something important; something that wasn’t turning off the oven.
Then, the familiar shiny black notebook laying on your desk catches your eye. You frown, confused, as you swear you just gave it to Qiu.
You pick it up, opening the book to see if it really was their boo—oh, shit.
…You just gave Qiu your notebook full of songs.
About them.
Just great.

Hiii, can you do a gn!reader x qiu (step 2) late night date, like, they sneak out and stargaze :3 (IM SORRY IF I BROKE ANY RULES OR ASKED 4 TOO MUCH 😭😭😭😭)
Qiu Lin x Reader
Stargaze
Romantic, Fluff, Step 2
————————————
Many things have changed over the past 4 years. But a few things haven’t, and those things led to nights like tonight. Ma probably wouldn’t want you up this late. It was a school night after all. But you couldn’t hold back a smile when, during another night where you were popping out for fresh air, you saw your neighbors legs draped over the floor of their fort.
You tip-toed over to their side of the grass framing the three houses in the cul-de-sac. You walked over to them before poking them in the side of their leg. The mass half hidden by the wood of hide out sat up before peering down at you. You stared up at them with a goofy smile. They couldn’t help snickering. They slid down, their feet missing any of the rocks stuck in the wall that were probably there for this purpose.
The second their feet hit the ground, you were off. Going further into the forest. It didn’t take long to find a nice area where the sky wasn’t obscured by the trees surrounding the two of you. You plopped onto the silky grass, your knees digging into the dirt below you.
“Hi.” You said, still with that goofy smile. You had said it to fill the silence that was surrounding the two of you. Qiu looked back at you, a smile on their face as well. Their smile had always been something you admired, even when you met 4 years ago.
“Hey.” They said in return. They settled onto the ground with you. You were both lucky that the sky was clear that night. Stars were covering the area, illuminating the spot like the entire world was watching the two of you. And in your minds, it might as well be.
You laid back, head hitting the soft grass. Small raindrops littered the area from a previous shower, but it wasn’t unpleasant. Qiu’s gaze was directed up at the sky, you didn’t see it but you knew. And you couldn’t help tilting your head over to gaze at them.
You had a smile that could only be described by loving. Qiu’s gaze dropped to yours without even tilting their head. They seemed to be unable to hold back a smirk. Their eyes went back to the sky, as did yours. You couldn’t remember how many times you’d been in this forest.
Despite that, it felt different this time. I mean, what’s more romantic than hanging out with your crush while stargazing? You spotted some constellations dotting the dark blueish black void above you both. Orion, the Big Dipper, Cygnus.
You wondered how often the stars shifted. You wondered if it was as often as humans did. Qiu did, Tamarack did, you did too. But some still stuck together. They still came together to paint a picture for everyone’s enjoyment.
You glanced to Qiu again. They looked at you. It was as if you could communicate with a single gaze. One that said I’ll be here. Qiu stretched a bit, the charming smirk going back to their resting face.
They yawned and turned onto their side, the one facing you. “I’ll nudge you when we should head back.” You said. Qiu smiled again. You both knew you’d be there if they needed you.
Qiu closed their eyes. It was debatable if they were actually napping. You knew no matter what the stars looked like in the future, you’d sit under them once again with Qiu by your side.

Thank you for the request! You didn’t break any rules. I hope you enjoy this! I’m not great at writing step 2 yet 🥲 Sorry this took so long btw!
Have a great day!

OMG i LOVE THIS SO MUCH!
Colored Bandaids (gn!MC)
Characters Included: Qiu/Autumn Lin Tamarack Baumann (mentioned) Baxter Ward (mentioned) Darren Murray (mentioned) MC Second (from OL:N&F)
Concept:
Set in step 2! requested by: @a-kind-pandemic-disaster ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Third Person)
Timeskip -> Afterschool
