mmm tumbly doesnt even let me reblog the last post and put more videos on the reblog. So guess we'll make it this way. Again long post warning :) im so embarrassed.
Frontier Psychiatrist for Pyke. I think its very self explanatory.
youtube
Any of the Bluey's soundtrack. Mostly 'Pool', 'Creek is Beautiful' and 'The Weekend', Bilgewater canon divergence where child Sarah, Illaoi and Pyke enjoy life as kids, Abigail is there, alive and happy watching over the kids, they do silly stuff like picking stuff from the sand and showing it to each other or creeping over the shore creatures, they be holding hands and dancing in circle like silly gooses they are. No obligations for today. Just kids being kids.
youtube
Oooof this one slaps so hard in my mind. Pyke with 'DEATH' by Melanie Martinez. The lyrics, the way i imagine in my mind past Pyke slowly become undead Pyke but always with glimpses of 'oh yes, we know whats going to happen', and because this scene deserves a redraw. Too powerful. Back from the death back from the death.
Tumblr media
youtube
Keeping it up with my babygirl Pyke, i have a whole ass animatic in my mind with 'Kanashi no mukou he' from School Days anime. Its an old anime already but i dont want to spoil it. But just brand new undead Pyke slowly promising himself to take revenge and planning his first killing but also being so emotionally driven. Damn.
youtube
'Pacify Her' by Melanie Martinez but its Sarah Fortune watching Gangplank and Illaoi date and she's just convinced that she doesnt love him or that she's being manipulated and constantly planning on boicotting the relationship because she utterly despises Gangplank. Inmature and stubborn Sarah but in the end, she's always right.
youtube
'Slipping through my fingers' by ABBA is the angst part of Bilgewater canon divergence animatic, where we now nostalgically see the kids having fun but always in the eyes of who Sarah, Illaoi and Pyke are now. Split up, broken and bothered by the actions of each other. Always remembering the good times but knowing that the friendship is too poisoned to try again, yet, it was beautiful while it lasted.
youtube
and thats it. For today, cause i have a lot more. I dont have that much free time but that mini part of my brain is always working. Sorry for the cringe exposition, haha. Again this might work as archive if i ever feel like trying doing an animatic out if i figure out how to do it.

Djerriwarrah Bridge - 1858/59
“The old Ballarat Road Bridge over the Djerriwarrh Creek west of Melton, built 1858-59, is significant as a rare and highly intact example of a bridge built to accommodate gold-rush traffic, and for its unusual design and materials. It is one of Victoria’s oldest bridges of any type, and a rare intact 1850s road bridge.
It is a notable and scarce example of a round or Roman arch bridge in Victoria. It is a rare sandstone masonry arch bridge in Victoria. The bridge retains tool marks associated with its quarrying.
The related quarry, also has a high potential to provide information relating to gold-era construction practices. Substantially elevated, the single arched bridge is supported by large masonry abutments articulated with slightly projecting piers.
The bridge is composed of three bays, with solid sandstone retaining walls flanking the arched opening. The bridge has is relatively intact and has a high integrity. While all capping stones are intact, most have been vandalised, with names cut into the soft stone. The original tool marks in the soft stone are also weathering away.
A dedication plaque on the bridge has been removed. On the upstream side there is evidence of early timber groin or wing walls. This may be part of a longer term problem of scouring. The gouged abutments of the bridge and base of the stream have been repaired with concrete.
The setting of the bridge, in a deep escarpment with some remnant native vegetation, is notably beautiful and dramatic. The first main road to the Ballarat diggings was the ‘Portland Road’, which was roughly the line of the present Melton Highway from Keilor, which passed just north of Pykes Station (later Melton), approximately along the line of Centenary Avenue, and after skirting north of a heavy box forest came down to the present crossing of Djerriwarrh Creek (or Deep Creek as it was often called). Shortly after the 1851 announcement of the discovery of gold at Ballarat, John Chandler set off with his party. They crossed the ‘very rickety bridge’ (with toll) at Keilor: ‘We were evidently among some of the first parties, for there was not much track to be seen...”. They became lost on the Keilor Plains, arriving at ‘Staughton’s’, who showed them the way. There had been a little improvement, but it remained a dangerous crossing
Incidences of destroyed wagons and horse teams continued until the time the bridge was built. A study undertaken for VicRoads in 1994 identified two historical archaeological sites in the area, on the west side of the creek: a ‘Wayside Inn’ beside the ‘old coach road’ (which is clearly visible from the eastern side of the creek), and a house site.
The whole Djerriwarrh Creek valley was public land, later designated a ‘farmers common’. Local belief is that the original ford crossing, the ‘old bullock track’ (after which a nearby road has recently been named) was situated approximately 400 metres upstream of the present (old) bridge, over a stone ford. An early map, predating the goldrush, shows the crossing as a track fording the stream three times at a horseshoe bend. Vines estimates that the original line approaching the stream followed a spur just south of the existing highway, turned north at the final drop to the first of the fords (now disturbed) which was situated between the old and the new bridges. The second ford was just upstream of the 1858-59 bridge, from which the track headed north-west to the third ford ‘which is still visible in its original position, marked by flanking red gum trees’. Having crossed the creek the road then followed an easy gradient up the south side of a gully, the tracks of which are known locally as the ‘old coach road’.
On the Melton side of the creek history has recorded two sites. The Ben Nevis Hotel was erected by Ewen McKinnon atop the escarpment. A toll gate was erected on the Melton side of the bridge in April 1861; the house and gate were burnt down in 1870.10 Archaeological evidence at the top of the escarpment – a scatter of handmade bricks and a hollow where some bottles were found – may be related to one of these sites, more likely the hotel.
Land to the north of bridge once used for the growing of vines, which are thought to have failed through the lack of water. Land to the south of bridge was at one stage used as cherry orchards. The whole area of the road crossing has been designated as a site of historical and archaeological significance.
As traffic on the Ballarat Road increased, and roads deteriorated under the wheels of drays and bullock wagons, road and bridge construction became essential. The Djerriwarrh Creek crossing was a particular hazard because of the steep descents. As a result it is one of only very few gold-era bridges to have been constructed in Victoria, and one of even fewer to survive.
A contract for bridge was let on the 20th October 1858 by newly created Department of Roads and Bridges of the Board of Lands and Works. The contract price was ₤2,583, and the successful contractor Robert Barbour. Sandstone for construction of the bridge was quarried on site; the quarry hole was on the western side of the creek. Workers camped in tents beside site in bed of the creek. The bridge was completed on 31 March 1859.
While the opening of the Geelong to Ballarat railway c.1862 would have decreased traffic on the road, the route was still well patronised, and in 1873 Cobb & Co. line put on a new coach to carry 25 passengers, to complement its massive ‘Leviathan’ coach of 1860, with a capacity of 100 passengers. At least until the opening of the direct Melbourne to Ballarat railway in 1889 the bridge provided a vital link on the busy coach road between Ballarat and the railway station at ‘Keilor Road’ (Sydenham). Hotels in the Melton Shire benefited from the through traffic, providing stabling and victuals.
In 1960 the bridge was by-passed by a reinforced concrete bridge. In 1963 it was restored by the Country Roads Board. The bridge’s Djerriwarrh Creek setting is also of natural significance. There is an interesting mix of native plants – including Fragrant Saltbush, Saloop and Scruby Saltbush found in the area. Bull Mallee growing along the creek is part of the former Long Forest,18 now protected under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act and on Register of National Estate.
The road cutting on the north side of the highway east of the bridge is significant because it gives clear exposure of bedrocks that underlie the volcanic plain:- it exposes shales overlain by Werribee Formation sediments and newer volcanic basalts.
There are few similar bridges elsewhere in Victoria, most surviving early bridges having been built of bluestone and being considerably later. Firstly, it is one of only very few intact road bridges from the 1850s. Most of the surviving bridges of this era (generally meaning stone arch bridges) were built as part railway projects - the Flinders Street to St Kilda railway, and the Melbourne to Mount Alexander railway: the Dorcas, Banks and Parks Streets South Melbourne (1857), and the Macedon Street bridge at Sunbury (c.1859).
Other mainly small road over railway masonry arch bridges were built in the early 1860s as construction of the Bendigo and Ballarat railways proceeded. These railway bridges were built to an exceptional standard of design and workmanship. The only intact non-railway road bridge known to predate the Djerriwarrh Creek bridge is Youl’s bridge at Woolsthorpe (1856).This is thought to have been built to provide access to the port of Warrnambool primarily for wool growers, but also diggers. Other surviving road bridges opened at the same time are those at Batesford over the Moorabool River (1859), and Avenel, over Hughes Creek (c.1859).There were also some beam road bridges built in the 1850s, such as McMillans Bridge over the Little Woady Yallock Creek, but all known examples have had their girders replaced, and only the original (usually modified) masonry abutments survive. The earliest surviving metal girder and stone abutment bridges were again built as part of railways, such as the Hotham Road bridge at Ripponlea (c.1860), and the bridges built on the Bendigo line in the early 1860s.
Secondly, the bridge is a rare surviving non-bluestone arch bridge in Victoria, other known examples being Avenel (1859, sandstone), Harcourt (road over rail, 1862, granite), Waurn Ponds (1869, limestone), Newtown at Beechworth (1874, granite).Thirdly, it is a scarce round, or ‘Roman’, arch road bridge, and the first of these bridges that is known to have been built. Interestingly, another bridge in Melton Shire, carring the Melton Highway over the Kororoit Creek, also has a round arch (bluestone), and may also have been built very early (contract let 1859). The other known major examples are: Corkscrew Bridge near Aitkens Gap (1862), Blampied (1883, the only known example of a road bridge with more than one round arch), and at Little River.Several notable examples of round arch railway bridges were being built at the same time for the Mount Alexander railway: Harpers Creek Sunbury (c.1859) and Sunbury Creek Sunbury (c.1859). The very distinctive round arches on these bridges are enhanced by their very high settings, and multiple spans. Other known railway round arch bridges were built at Riddells Creek, Harcourt, and Moorabool.
The most comparable bridge in terms of its important goldfields origins is the ‘Corkscrew Bridge’, which carried the Mount Alexander Road over a branch of the Kororoit Creek on the Gisborne side of Aitkens Gap. This also had a single round arch, but was built in 1862, in bluestone, and is much lower.” — in Long Forest.

Ser Jorah and the peach
Tumblr media
I haven’t read the novels yet but I have just stumbled on this excerpt (thankfully devoid of descriptive detail that would stop me from seeing Iain Glen in our Knight) and I am reading this wonderful account in pure awe and bliss... because Jorah gifts his Love and Queen with a ripe peach, and do you know what a ripe peach one bites into should remind you of ?
Ahhh if Tumblr was a bot-free space, I would include a pic !
Here is the excerpt, authored, of course, by George R. R. Martin, and taken from "A Clash of Kings". While traveling in the Red Waste, Jorah and Dany find an abandoned city beyond the Dothraki Sea. Ser Jorah comes to Daenerys tent, they have been without food and water for days...
“I’ve brought you a peach,” Ser Jorah said, kneeling. It was so small she could almost hide it in her palm, and overripe too, but when she took the first bite, the flesh was so sweet she almost cried. She ate it slowly, savoring every mouthful, while Ser Jorah told her of the tree it had been plucked from, in a garden near the western wal.
“Fruit and water and shade,” Dany said, her cheeks sticky with peach juice. “The gods were good to bring us to this place.”
“We should rest here until we are stronger,” the knight urged. “The red lands are not kind to the weak.” “My handmaids say there are ghosts here.”
“There are ghosts everywhere,” Ser Jorah said softly. “We carry them with us wherever we go.”
Yes, she thought. Viserys, Khal Drogo, my son Rhaego, they are with me always. “Tell me the name of your ghost, Jorah. You know al of mine.”
His face grew very stil . “Her name was Lynesse.” “Your wife?”
“My second wife.”
It pains him to speak of her, Dany saw, but she wanted to know the truth. “Is that al you would say of her?” The lion pelt slid off one shoulder and she tugged it back into place. “Was she beautiful?”
“Very beautiful.” Ser Jorah lifted his eyes from her shoulder to her face. “The first time I beheld her, I thought she was a goddess come to earth, the Maid herself made flesh. Her birth was far above my own. She was the youngest daughter of Lord Leyton Hightower of Oldtown. The White Bull who commanded your father’s Kingsguard was her greatuncle. The Hightowers are an ancient family, very rich and very proud.”
“And loyal,” Dany said. “I remember, Viserys said the Hightowers were among those who stayed true to my father.”
“That’s so,” he admitted.
“Did your fathers make the match?”
“No,” he said. “Our marriage... that makes a long tale and a dul one, Your Grace. I would not trouble you with it.”
“I have nowhere to go,” she said. “Please.”
“As my queen commands.” Ser Jorah frowned. “My home... you must understand that to understand the rest. Bear island is beautiful, but remote. Imagine old gnarled oaks and tall pines, flowering thornbushes, grey stones bearded with moss, little creeks running icy down steep hillsides. The hall of the Mormonts is built of huge logs and surrounded by an earthen palisade. Aside from a few crofters, my people live along the coasts and fish the seas. The island lies far to the north, and our winters are more terrible than you can imagine, Khaleesi.
“Still, the island suited me well enough, and I never lacked for women. I had my share of fishwives and crofter’s daughters, before and after I was wed. I married young, to a bride of my father’s choosing, a Glover of Deepwood Motte. Ten years we were wed, or near enough as makes no matter. She was a plain-faced woman, but not unkind. I suppose I came to love her after a fashion, though our relations were dutiful rather than passionate. Three times she miscarried while trying to give me an heir. The last time she never recovered. She died not long after.”
Dany put her hand on his and gave his fingers a squeeze. “I am sorry for you, truly.”
Ser Jorah nodded. “By then my father had taken the black, so I was Lord of Bear Island in my own right. I had no lack of marriage offers, but before I could reach a decision Lord Balon Greyjoy rose in rebel ion against the Usurper, and Ned Stark cal ed his banners to help his friend Robert. The final battle was on Pyke. When Robert’s stonethrowers opened a breach in King Balon’s wal , a priest from Myr was the first man through, but I was not far behind. For that I won my knighthood.
“To celebrate his victory, Robert ordained that a tourney should be held outside Lannisport. It was there I saw Lynesse, a maid half my age. She had come up from Oldtown with her father to see her brothers joust. I could not take my eyes off her. In a fit of madness, I begged her favor to wear in the tourney, never dreaming she would grant my request, yet she did.
“I fight as well as any man, Khaleesi, but I have never been a tourney knight. Yet with Lynesse’s favor knotted round my arm, I was a different man. I won joust after joust. Lord Jason Mal ister fell before me, and Bronze Yohn Royce. Ser Ryman Frey, his brother Ser Hosteen, Lord Whent, Strongboar, even Ser Boros Blount of the Kingsguard, I unhorsed them all. In the last match, I broke nine lances against Jaime Lannister to no result, and King Robert gave me the champion’s laurel. I crowned Lynesse queen of love and beauty, and that very night went to her father and asked for her hand. I was drunk, as much on glory as on wine. By rights I should have gotten a contemptuous refusal, but Lord Leyton accepted my offer. We were married there in Lannisport, and for a fortnight I was the happiest man in the wide world.”
“Only a fortnight?” asked Dany. Even I was given more happiness than that, with Drogo who was my sun-and-stars.
“A fortnight was how long it took us to sail from Lannisport back to Bear island. My home was a great disappointment to Lynesse. It was too cold, too damp, too far away, my castle no more than a wooden longhall. We had no masques, no mummer shows, no bal s or fairs. Seasons might pass without a singer ever coming to play for us, and there’s not a goldsmith on the island. Even meals became a trial. My cook knew little beyond his roasts and stews, and Lynesse soon lost her taste for fish and venison.
“I lived for her smiles, so I sent al the way to Oldtown for a new cook, and brought a harper from Lannisport. Goldsmiths, jewelers, dressmakers, whatever she wanted I found for her, but it was never enough. Bear Island is rich in bears and trees, and poor in aught else. I built a fine ship for her and we sailed to Lannisport and Oldtown for festivals and fairs, and once even to Braavos, where I borrowed heavily from the money-lenders. It was as a tourney champion that I had won her hand and heart, so I entered other tourneys for her sake, but the magic was gone. I never distinguished myself again, and each defeat meant the loss of another charger and another suit of jousting armor, which must needs be ransomed or replaced. The cost could not be borne. Finally I insisted we return home, but there matters soon grew even worse than before. I could no longer pay the cook and the harper, and Lynesse grew wild when I spoke of pawning her jewels.
“The rest... I did things it shames me to speak of. For gold. So Lynesse might keep her jewels, her harper, and her cook. In the end it cost me al . When I heard that Eddard Stark was coming to Bear Island, I was so lost to honor that rather than stay and face his judgment, I took her with me into exile. Nothing mattered but our love, I told myself. We fled to Lys, where I sold my ship for gold to keep us.”
His voice was thick with grief, and Dany was reluctant to press him any further, yet she had to know how it ended. “Did she die there?” she asked him gently.
“Only to me,” he said. “In half a year my gold was gone, and I was obliged to take service as a sel sword. While I was fighting Braavosi on the Rhoyne, Lynesse moved into the manse of a merchant prince named Tregar Ormol en. They say she is his chief concubine now, and even his wife goes in fear of her.”
Dany was horrified. “Do you hate her?”
“Almost as much as I love her,” Ser Jorah answered. “Pray excuse me, my queen. I find I am very tired.”
She gave him leave to go, but as he was lifting the flap of her tent, she could not stop herself cal ing after him with one last question. “What did she look like, your Lady Lynesse?”
Ser Jorah smiled sadly. “Why, she looked a bit like you, Daenerys.” He bowed low. “Sleep well, my queen.”

You are currently browsing the world travel blog Andrea & Reik weblog archives after the day 'milford-track'. Return transport by jetboat to Pyke mouth and hike the remaining 20 kilometres (five to seven hours) back.
equipment
Read more about campervan hire New Zealand here.
"Equipment Equipment as for a normal hut tour. Good rain gear and an even better mosquito repellent pays off!
I find this price simply too high, also the scenery does not justify the enormous costs anymore.as I am I'm so frightened that I have to fly in the last load. The waterfalls are a wonderful sight. But now the water has enclosed us. We have resigned ourselves to it.
In this section
It is the path of turquoise water, golden beaches and gently bobbing tree ferns, making you feel like you are in paradise. We hike from Anchorage and look out over one of the most beautiful stretches of coast in New Zealand. Transfer either to Motueka or Nelson and overnight in motel. From the pass we walk downhill at a leisurely pace for about 15 minutes before the trail drops steeply to Roaring Burn stream. This is a descent of 870 metres over seven kilometres! Moraine Creek Bridge, the first bridge on the descent, is about a third of the way down to Quintin Hut. Shortly afterwards you cross the river over a long suspension bridge, from which you can often see trout and eels in the clear water. Another bridge crosses the Mckay stream. On the second day, after about 6 hours, you reach the Mintaro Hut through moss forests, steppes and rainforests. The third stage leads over the 1,073 m high Mackinnon Pass with views over the Fiordlands, past numerous waterfalls and over several suspension bridges to the Dumpling Hut. The 14 km long trail (6 to 7 hours) leads along Lake Ada, a side trail leads to the Sutherland Falls.

Interview: Matt Pyke on Universal Every thing and techno-optimism
Tumblr media
Due to the fact that 2004, Matt Pyke has actually been operating Universal Every little thing from a wooden workshop integrated in his backyard on the side of Sheffield in South Yorkshire. UE is actually a graphic crafts center that generates multi-sensory setups. It has produced video clips and also immersive gardens for huge companies as well as popular music groups consisting of Apple, Radiohead, Coldplay, Chanel, Nike, Audi, Hyundai, Warp Records and also MTV. Yet Pyke is certainly not a specialist of digital programmes; he trained as a graphic developer as well as illustrator. He started his job making record covers as well as graphics for the music world.
The size of his work team varies from two to 4 participants. There is no physical workshop where he meets along with clients; rendezvous are actually virtual, a lot like the video ventures UE makes. Traditional work strategies link brand new resources to move beyond the boundaries of printed concern while maintaining the quality as well as coherence that identifies its ideal instances.
The intention is to favour much more efficient communication by means of "the various brand-new screen-based touchpoints in our lifestyles." This, and far more, he told our team concerning on the occasion of the release, a handful of months back, of his monograph What is actually Universal Every little thing?, modified through Adrian Shaughnessy and Tony Creek and published through Unit Editions in a minimal version.
When did you comprehend the training course your work possessed undertaken was actually the ideal one? Is there an episode or payment highlighting this step? Our company initially found our ideal 'canvass' using video wall structures, when our team were commissioned to create integrated video recording artworks for the inside of the Nokia Flagship Suppliers in 2006. Our team found our natural 'subject' of digital lifeforms when we made the film 'Transmutation', our endlessly developing walking amount, for our solo series Super Pc Romantics at Los angeles Gaite Lyrique digital art museum in 2011.
What is Universal Every little thing? Which are its own strong suits? Potential optimism. Locating emotions in developing modern technology. Using the displays of the future as our canvass. Seeking new kinds of figurative depiction through the eyes of new technology. Increasing and enriching design along with video recording facades and projections. Existing away from Greater london in our very own globe. Drawing in international clients when we perform not have a bodily center. Our digital workshop design, working together along with incredible skill worldwide.
Which is your working procedure? To which level perform you make use of traditional tools like attracting or maquettes? I consistently begin along with sketch, and also continue up until the principle is actually despairing to leap off the web page and right into electronic kind. I perform certainly not code myself, or even utilize 3D program, as it limits my imagination. Instead I like to work together along with outstanding skills which carry my dreams to life.
You benefit major business controlled through business inputs. Just how do you succeed in always keeping the right equilibrium between art and advertising and marketing? Our team find every job as an abundant cooperation - in between our company and also a companies market values, in between our company and also an attractive product launch, between us as well as a cultural room, between us and also a museum audience. Our team pick our customers thoroughly, looking for progressive companies with authentic objective - as a result we do certainly not really feel there is a trade-off between commercial as well as social ventures.
You have been actually called tecno-optimist. Can you explain to which stretch is this meaning fix? I experience that ever-improving modern technologies use our company positive solutions to a number of the worlds greatest problems, coming from localized renewable energy as well as vertical farming, to enabling any designer, anywhere to possess an international vocal. Statistically the whole entire population of the planet is enhancing everyday, but the mass media distorts this reality.
Just how would certainly you describe the project of a (visuals) designer today? To believe beyond the standard canvass of print layout, to enrich meaningful communication around the lots of new screen-based touchpoints which exist in our lifestyles. From intelligent watch displays, to mobile phone applications, to augmented reality wayfinding, to architectural video facades ... All necessity quality, comprehensibility as well as unusual new aesthetic involvements.

SYDNEY: New Zealand police on Friday found the body of a British backpacker who went missing in the South Island after the area was hit by heavy rain and floods.
The body of Stephanie Simpson, 32, who had not been seen since she went for a hike last weekend, was found in an area called Pyke Creek, West Coast Search and Rescue sergeant Mark Kirkwood said in a statement.
“Police extend their condolences to Stephanie’s family at this tragic time,” Kirkwood said.
“The family are understandably grieving and they have asked the media to respect their request for privacy.”
Flash floods and torrential rain hit the South Island last week, leaving several hundred tourists stranded for days and forcing many residents from their homes.
It was not clear if Simpson’s hike at the Mount Aspiring National Park, home of one of New Zealand’s highest peaks, was affected by the rain. Her death will be referred to the Coroner, Kirkwood said.
“The search was extremely challenging at times, especially in consideration of the terrain,” he said.
Thousands of hikers visit New Zealand every year to explore its mountains and wildlife.
In 2016, a Czech women spent nearly a month alone in a warden’s hut on a remote trail on th4e South Island after her male partner was killed in a fall.
Questions were raised last year about New Zealand’s reputation as a safe, easy-going holiday destination after a 22-year-old British woman backpacker was murdered by a man she met on a dating app. A jury convicted the man in November and he is to be sentenced on Feb. 21.
