🏛️ Supreme Court Rejects Challenge to UGC-NET Exam Cancellation Due to Paper Leak Allegations
On Monday, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition contesting the government's decision to cancel the UGC-NET examination following allegations of a question paper leak. The court stated that intervening at this stage would create disorder and uncertainty, stressing the importance of stability for the students who are set to take the exam.
⚖️ The bench, led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, noted that the government has rescheduled the exam for 21 August, as reported by PTI.
Chief Justice Chandrachud remarked, "Considering the petition at this point would only exacerbate uncertainty and lead to complete disorder," underlining the government's need to exercise greater caution in light of previous examination scandals such as the NEET-UG issue.
📜 Earlier, the Supreme Court had dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a solicitor on the same matter, pointing out that it had not been initiated by the affected candidates themselves. The CJI stated, "Why are you (solicitor) approaching us? Let the students come forward themselves," making it clear that the court was not offering an opinion on the case's merits.
📰 The original petition challenged the Union Education Ministry and National Testing Agency's decision to annul the UGC-NET exam, a decision taken due to concerns that the exam's integrity had been compromised. On 19 June, the ministry cancelled the exam and referred the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further inquiry.

*Press Release*
*January 11*
*Shahbaz Sharif Redefines Pakistan's Identity:Azma Bokhari*
*Overseas Pakistanis Send Record $3.1bn Remittances Despite Failed Call for Civil Disobedience: Azma Bokhari*
*KPK Government, Including Ghandapur, Deeply Entangled in Corruption: Azma Bokhari*
*PTI Founder Enjoys Branded Chocolates and Almonds in Jail: Azma Bokhari*
*Nation Being Emotionally Manipulated by Depicting PTI Founder in Poor Condition: Azma Bokhari*
Lahore ( ) Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has said that Shahbaz Sharif has given Pakistan a new identity. No one attended the phone call of "Fitna Khan" during his government. When the founder of PTI made his final call from Adiala Jail, it turned out to be a missed call. Despite the call for civil disobedience, remittances saw a record increase, with overseas Pakistanis sending $3.1 billion to Pakistan. Efforts were made to harm Pakistan through the civil disobedience movement of PTI, but no friendly nation paid any attention to the "Fitna Party" policies.
She added that the founder of PTI did everything to isolate Pakistan, and whenever a leader from a friendly country visits, these people start mischief to spoil Pakistan's relations. She further said that the entire KPK government, including Ghandapur, is involved in corruption. The incompetent government, in power for twelve years, has only increased the people's suffering. The public needs to be told what special ability Ghandapur possesses that he was made the Chief Minister of KPK. Two billion rupees were distributed in KPK in the name of mosques.
The founder of PTI is enjoying branded chocolates and almonds in jail. The nation is emotionally manipulated by showing him in poor condition. She expressed these views while addressing a press conference with Samiullah Khan in Shahdara. She stated that PML-N never forgot the people of Shahdara and that the severe sewage issues in the area are being resolved, bringing ease to the lives of the people.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, Punjab is reaching new heights of development. Here, work is done, not just announcements. Maryam Nawaz is about to launch a major scholarship program under the "Dhee Raani,". Scholarships Program will provide education to 30,000 deserving children.
The Minister for Information also said that Maryam Nawaz has launched the Livestock Card Program in Pakpattan, which will help livestock farmers buy animals for their livelihood. Many friendly countries are interested in purchasing livestock from Pakistan. She added that the "Fitna Group," driven by their hatred for Shahbaz Sharif, shut down the laptop program. However, the shipment of laptops has now reached Pakistan, and no MNA or MPA can influence the distribution of these laptops. Under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, there is no place for favouritism. When leadership is hardworking, blessings from Allah follow.
During the tenure of PTI's founder, failed schemes like eggs, shelters, and hemp factories were established. Despite the violence and unrest caused by the Fitna Group, Pakistan continues to progress. The same people who once claimed they would never seek an NRO are now begging for one. Now, even Khan's own family refuses to meet him. When someone visits, he asks them not to meet him in jail but to somehow get him an NRO and get him released. His children are enjoying luxuries in London while the nation’s children are being handed slingshots, weapons, and petrol bombs.
She stated that the KPK government is in debt by thousands of billions, and there are no schools or hospitals. People there travel in palanquins. Instead of focusing on the public, the only concern of their leaders is whether Khan is being served roasted chicken in Adiala Jail.

Home Minister Amit Shah Highlights Challenges in the Fight Against Drug Trafficking
Tumblr media
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at the regional conference on "Drug Trafficking and National Security" on Saturday, January 11, 2025, emphasized the persistent and evolving challenges posed by drug trafficking in India. Key among these challenges are the misuse of the dark web, cryptocurrency, online marketplaces, and drones. These technological advancements, while beneficial in many sectors, have also been exploited to facilitate the smuggling of illicit substances. Shah underscored the urgent need for strict measures to counter these threats and reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that not even a single kilogram of drugs is smuggled into or out of the country. Major Achievements in Combating Drug Trafficking Highlighting the progress made under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah pointed to significant milestones in the fight against drugs: Seven-Fold Increase in Drug Seizures: Over the past decade, India has seen a dramatic rise in the volume of drug seizures. Between 2014 and 2024, law enforcement agencies seized 24 lakh kilograms of drugs, compared to 3.63 lakh kilograms during the preceding decade. Record Disposal of Narcotics: The value of drugs disposed of has also seen an eight-fold increase, from ₹8,150 crore during 2004-2014 to ₹54,851 crore during 2014-2024. Massive Drug Busts in 2024: In the past year alone, drugs worth ₹16,914 crore were seized by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and police forces across the country, marking a significant step towards creating a drug-free society. Shah also mentioned the dismantling of numerous narco-terrorism networks, particularly in regions like Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh. These efforts not only targeted drug trafficking but also curtailed the terrorism linked to such activities. Amit Shah stressed the importance of finding technical solutions to address the challenges posed by modern technologies in drug trafficking. He called for a collaborative effort involving state governments, the central government, and technocrats to devise innovative strategies. Shah emphasized that the fight against drugs is not just a law enforcement issue but a collective responsibility critical to national security and development. A Comprehensive Strategy for a Drug-Free India The Government of India, under PM Modi’s leadership, has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has implemented a three-pronged strategy to achieve a drug-free India by 2047: Strengthening Institutional Frameworks: Enhancing the capacity and functionality of law enforcement and judicial institutions. Improving Coordination: Encouraging collaboration among central and state narcotics agencies to streamline efforts. Raising Public Awareness: Launching campaigns to educate citizens about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of reporting drug-related activities. The regional conference saw the participation of governors, lieutenant governors, chief ministers, and senior officers from eight northern states and UTs. Senior officials from central ministries, departments, and law enforcement agencies also attended, reflecting a unified approach to tackling the drug menace. The fight against drug trafficking in India is not merely a battle against illegal substances but a broader effort to safeguard the nation's future. With robust institutional frameworks, technological innovation, and collaborative efforts, the government is determined to make India a drug-free nation by 2047. As Amit Shah aptly stated, "No country can move forward on the path of development with a young generation suffering from drug addiction." The initiatives launched at the conference, coupled with the government's unwavering resolve, mark a significant step toward achieving this goal. Read the full article

Manmohan Singh: A Visionary Leader Defined by Humility and Courage
Tumblr media
Dr. Manmohan Singh followed those great leaders and himself he was a visionary leader, courageous, and full of integrity, marking his career. I first met Dr. Singh in the late 1960s in New York; he was with the United Nations and I was with New York University. We first worked together on the Board much later in the mid-1980s when he was the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and I was appointed as Deputy Governor. I found out how brilliant, hardworking, and self-effacing he was, and how he could mobilize people to his way of thinking.
Three qualities distinguished Dr. Singh: three commodities, vision, courage, and humility. His ability to conceptualize was the mark of his leadership because he hatched long-range goals for the country's benefit. This, of course, went hand in hand with the ability to make rather aggressive, or at least unpopular, decisions. However, as chief of one of the most vital agencies in the country, he never lost his humility. He created an atmosphere that enabled communication and dialogue and where everyone got a chance to be heard and decisions were sanctioned from the collective range.
He is best remembered for the part he played in the 1991 economic liberalization process of India. The 1991 economic reforms and Mr. Chidambaram was also the Finance Minister of India and he had to manage the country through one of the blackest days of its economic history. His reforms shifted the economic growth of the country to liberalization and Globalization. Ideas like these are normally good on paper, but they need to be implemented and Dr. Singh did that very well. He always promoted proper discussions when people disagreed and then made certain that better ideas came out on top.
On leadership, one can among other things identify the elimination of ad-hoc treasury bills which sustained the automatic monetization of fiscal deficits. He agreed with the minister’s move when I gave details of their adverse effects on the economy despite going up the cost of government borrowing. Likewise, in the early period of moving toward a market-determined exchange rate, he blocked demands for gradualism understanding that the long-term gains from decisive action are far superior to the costs incurred. Such choices vindiated the technical clout but majorly they were daring enough to act against the resistance which Dr. Singh was so vocal about.
These attributes of his nature were unimpeachable: he was, in the simplest terms, selfless and sincere. When the rupee was devalued in 1991, while the new standards allowed me to obtain additional foreign assets with my new increased rupee value, I cashed a cheque to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for an equivalent amount. For him, everything has to bow to the nation and this is the reason that he follows this principle in everything he does.
While being Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014 years Dr. Singh also worked for India’s further development. While in power, he recorded an impressive economic growth point that saw the country grow at above 9% for the fiscal year 2005/2006 to 2008/2009. He also identified efficiency and competitiveness as the keys to India’s success in the global market. The principles contained in his policies focused on building a foundation of sustainable development, if not growth, let alone the growth annually expected in the short term.
The profile of  Manmohan Singh showcases a life dedicated to public service, marked by vision, courage, and integrity. Dr. Manmohan Singh was Born on September 26, 1932, in Punjab, India he was been born in a poor family in the village of Gohaniwala. After obtaining his degrees at Cambridge and Oxford he was successful in academics, as a bureaucrat, and as a politician. As a result of the outstanding education he has received, he was very humble, friendly, and patriotic at heart nonetheless.
Time will tell that Dr. Singh made history as one of India’s finest leaders, a philosopher, theorist, and diplomat. His life fully testified that if one is to become great he must become a great servant and a humble one at that. In a very subtle manner, he decided the fate of India and set the pace for more such brave steps in the future. This tribute to Manmohan Singh acknowledges his profound impact on India’s history. For more information make sure to visit Bihar Connect. He was a philosopher, reformer, and diplomat, his life exemplified that greatness lies in service and humility.  Bihar Connect In his quiet and selfless way, Dr Singh shaped India’s destiny, setting the stage for future bold reforms and inspiring generations to come.

Dr. Manmohan Singh: A Life of Quiet Strength, Unmatched Wisdom, and Transformational Leadership
Tumblr media
Dr. Manmohan Singh’s life is a story of quiet resilience, remarkable intellect, and a relentless commitment to the nation. Born in 1932 in a small village in Punjab, he grew up in a world far removed from the power corridors of New Delhi. A humble beginning marked the start of a journey that would forever change India’s path in the global arena.
From the hardships of partition to the struggles of his early academic years, Dr. Singh faced countless challenges. But what set him apart was his unwavering belief in the power of education and his deep love for his country. Despite the odds, he rose to become one of the most respected economists in the world. His academic brilliance paved the way for him to serve as the country’s Finance Minister and later as its Prime Minister. But it was his steady, almost stoic leadership during times of economic turmoil that earned him the title of the architect of India’s modern economy.
Under Dr. Singh’s leadership, India saw an economic transformation — his policies led the country towards unprecedented growth, lifted millions out of poverty, and opened the door to global economic integration. He was not just a technocrat; he was a leader with compassion, who deeply understood the power of progress rooted in human welfare.
At Vidya and Associates, we believe in the same values that Dr. Singh embodied — dedication to education, the empowerment of individuals, and the belief that true leadership stems from humility and service. Just as Dr. Singh focused on building a brighter future for the country, we at Vidya and Associates strive to build a brighter future for students by offering quality tutoring across a range of subjects, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Yet, beyond his policies and economic reforms, it was Dr. Singh’s humility that left an indelible mark on the world. Despite occupying the highest office in the country, he remained grounded. His style of leadership was marked by quiet determination rather than loud proclamations. He led by example — never seeking the spotlight but always pushing forward with the belief that his work would speak for itself.
As India mourns his loss, we remember not just the policies he enacted but the principles he embodied: integrity, resilience, and a commitment to the people. Dr. Singh’s life is a reminder that leadership is not about power but about using one’s position to create positive, lasting change for the greater good.
In a world full of noise and distractions, Dr. Manmohan Singh was a beacon of quiet strength, a leader who guided not with words but with action. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of leaders, reminding them that the truest form of leadership lies in service to the people.
At Vidya and Associates, we honor Dr. Singh’s life by continuing to inspire and educate the leaders of tomorrow. His legacy encourages us to lead with humility, learn with passion, and work towards the greater good.
His passing leaves an emptiness, but his work, his values, and his vision will live on. Dr. Singh’s life was a testament to the idea that no matter where you start, greatness is within reach for those who dedicate themselves to a cause greater than themselves.
May his legacy continue to inspire us to strive for excellence, lead with humility, and serve with love.

[ad_1]   GG News Bureau New Delhi, 23rd Dec. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday, accusing the Delhi government of making empty promises as it kicked off registration for two of its flagship welfare schemes, the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ and ‘Sanjeevani Yojana.’ BJP’s national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticized Arvind Kejriwal for failing to address the pressing issues in Delhi despite being in power for a decade. “What has AAP done for Delhi? They promised a pollution-free city, but Delhi is still a gas chamber. The Yamuna remains unclean, and public health continues to suffer,” Poonawalla said. He also condemned the Delhi government’s handling of air pollution, which has led to diseases like malaria and dengue. In response, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal questioned the BJP’s record in the capital, stating, “What has the BJP done for Delhi? Nothing. Their only manifesto is to abuse me.” He accused the BJP of lacking a vision for Delhi, pointing out that the opposition has no clear chief ministerial face or strategy. Addressing a press conference today, Union Minister and BJP MP Anurag Thakur said, “The AAP government polluted Yamuna River so badly, it has become so smelly, foamy and poisonous. I remember, during a press conference in 2022, Kejriwal had said that before the next election, he, along with people would take a dip in the Yamuna River, that is before the 2025 election.” “Kejriwal Ji, 10 years have gone by and only 10 days are left to go for 2025, did the cleaning of Yamuna happen? Has Yamuna become clean?” he asked. #WATCH | Delhi: BJP MP Anurag Thakur says, " AAP govt polluted Yamuna River so badly, it has become so smelly, foamy and poisonous…I remember, during a press conference in 2022, Kejriwal had said that before the next election, he, along with people would take a dip in the… https://t.co/GvkCDa92Xj pic.twitter.com/pcMOSJn8Hl — ANI (@ANI) December 23, 2024   The controversy revolves around the AAP’s new welfare initiatives. On Monday, Kejriwal and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi launched the registration process for the ‘Mahila Samman Yojana,’ which aims to provide Rs 1,000 per month to women aged 18 and above. Kejriwal also promised to increase the amount to Rs 2,100 if AAP wins the upcoming elections. Additionally, the ‘Sanjeevani Yojana’ will offer free medical treatment for those above 60 years of age. Registration for both schemes will be facilitated at women’s homes by AAP volunteers. The BJP’s Delhi unit posted on X, “Arvind Kejriwal is the biggest fraud in the world, selling false dreams.” Despite the criticism, Kejriwal defended the initiatives, claiming that they would empower women and help young girls continue their education. He assured that volunteers would visit every home for smooth registration, avoiding long queues and making the process more accessible. The launch of these schemes comes ahead of Delhi’s 2024 assembly elections, where AAP seeks a third consecutive term after its overwhelming victory in 2020, winning 62 out of 70 seats. With the BJP sharpening its attack, the political battle for Delhi is heating up as both parties gear up for the upcoming polls.   The post BJP Slams Kejriwal Over New Welfare Schemes, Accuses AAP of ‘False Dreams’ Ahead of Delhi Polls appeared first on Global Governance News- Asia's First Bilingual News portal for Global News and Updates.
