Punch-Out!! Comic Project

oh my god we did it. it took like 6+ months but just in time for the 15th anniversary of the release of Punch-Out!! for the Wii, we created our own comic panels inspired by the original ones released alongside the game! a labour of love and extreme hyper-fixation lmao! please read them all because they're absolutely fantastic! and here are all the artists responsible <3 <3

oops forgot to post my shallow bald bull tooth gap analysis today

i also want to mention that one this was supposed to be a full body thing, not just his teeth lmao. second my brother's been found; he was hiding in some kid's basement

above was my first analysis, where i looked at bald bull's contender intros. i really only saw the image where he's bathing/in the sauna, so i was surprised to see that he has two tooth gaps instead of just the one on his right

i came to the conclusion that this was either the intro artists' fault, or the modeling team's fault. the artists becuz the model may have been made before the art, and the artists may have not seen that there are no tooth gaps

the modelers because vise versa to the above.

i was also looking at TD bald bull's intro and i really didn't see a tooth gap anywhere. so personally i think this solidifies my theory that it was a fault on the designer's part. not a bad fault tho i luv his tooth gaps💕

w/ or w/o a tooth gap, the difference is very subtle imo. but here i just used my artist renditions if bald bull's model had his tooth gaps.

i was trying to figure out if his teeth (which are most likely modeled in two items; top teeth n bottom teeth) would have to be modeled and rigged in a different way. unfortunately i don't have the info on models and rigging, much less the PO models and how they work

i do have a hypothesis that his teeth would need to be four separate things (shown in the one where his teeth are boxed in orange and red). either that, or they could remove the space between the teeth and just,,, idk😭

Ngl I kinda wanna write a fic for punch out that's basically just Lil Mac hanging out with the different boxers (either on their own or as a group) but my biggest problem is like. Not exactly language cuz obviously outside of Spanish and English google translate will be my best friend but more so having the English speaking folks. Like on one hand obviously Aran Ryan isn't going to talk the same as Bear Hugger (both personality wise and the use of slang in their country) but also i don't wanna feel like I just googled "[insert country/state] slang" and just shoe horn as many as i can... I'm getting so technical with this but also what if I just exploded
