Live Footage: JOVM Mainstays Thunderpussy Perform Their Fiery Cover of Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love" at Pukklepop Festival
Live Footage: JOVM Mainstays Thunderpussy Perform Their Fiery Cover of Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love" at Pukklepop Festival @thunderpussy @republicrecords @girlieaction @pukkelpop
Over the past couple of years, I’ve written a bit about the Seattle, WA-based heavy metal quartet Thunderpussy, and as you may recall, the act, which is comprised of Molly Sides (vocals), Whitney Petty (guitar), Leah Julius (bass) and Ruby Dunphy (drums) exploded into the national scene as a result of a string of attention-grabbing, critically applauded live shows and co-signs from Rolling Stone

Fiery mettle and a prickly bite adorns the latest “boss” single from Brighton quartet YONAKA, who are set to hit a flurry of festivals this year including Primavera, Pukklepop, and more. I’m sure F.W.T.B. would be a resounding treat to experience live at one of those events. It’s a punchy rumbling, edgy sharp electro-charged alt pop song with a whole lot of rebellious attitude. F.W.T.B. is the follow-up to the band’s well-received debut EP, Heavy last fall. It’s an anthem about self-empowerment that exudes YONAKA’s defiant disposition. Frontwoman Theresa Jarvis says: “The song is a big ‘f*ck you' to anyone who tries to get in your way and tell you no.  It’s about taking back the power, standing up for yourself and being heard.” Grab the tune, here. Keep up with the band’s tour and festival dates, here.

The xx Announce Fall Tour
Spoil me - I'm a DJ and I'm cute!
The xx have almost wrapped up their first batch of North American tour dates, and now, they’ve added a bunch more. The eight added shows will run from late September through to mid-October; check them out in the poster below, and scroll down to see a tour trailer. The tour is in support of the excellent I See You, released earlier this year. The new dates follow news of the Icelandic installment of the band’s own festival, Night + Day; that’ll feature Earl Sweatshirt, Robyn, Sampha, and more, running from July 14-16.
Read Pitchfork’s cover story, “I’ll Be Your Mirror: How the xx Found Themselves—And Their Vibrant New Sound—in Each Other.”

RAM Records Loadstar - Diamonds Feat. Takura Currently touring North America as part of the 25 Years Of Ram Records tour, Loadstar are ready to drop new single, ‘Diamonds’ (feat. Takura), the next track from the British drum & bass stars’ soon to be announced new album. A soaring, peak-time d&b anthem, Nick and Gavin have been roadtesting ‘Diamonds’ for most of this year in their sets, and based on the response so far expect this to become a firm festival favourite this season. This single also reunites them with vocalist, Takura, who, aside from featuring on tracks by Chase & Status, Sub Focus, Netsky, and Kano, last worked with Loadstar on ‘Refuse To Love’. ‘Diamonds’ follows recent single, ‘I Need The Night’; the lead single track was accompanied by ‘Guerilla’, and a storming house rework of ‘INTN’ from Dismantle. Heavy support on the package came from Radio 1, 1Xtra, Kiss, Beats, and beyond, with DJs including Target, Friction, Danny Howard, Annie Nightingale, Julie Adenuga, and many more. Since the release of Nick and Gavin’s debut album, ‘Future Perfect’, Loadstar have solidified their reputation as one of Europe’s biggest drum & bass acts – their feet are planted firmly in the rave, even if their journey has, at times, taken them far beyond it. Having crossed over to daytime Radio 1 (without a big featured artist in sight) with ‘Future Perfect’, and with heavy specialist radio support, the pair were no longer the drum & bass world’s best kept secret. Already a major draw as DJs, with many a classic performance at Fabric and beyond, Loadstar’s debuts at Glastonbury, Pukklepop, Creamfields, Las Vegas’ EDC and SW4, amongst others, saw them become a quickly acclaimed live outfit. 2016 saw them continue to break new ground on the festival circuit and, while focusing on recording new album material, they released a slew of underground cuts including ‘Change The Channel’, ‘Encarta’, ‘Lifeline’, and ‘Red Rock’ for Ram. They added remixes for Stylo G and Jacob Plant to a discography that to date includes Rudimental, Noisia, Ed Sheeran, Breakage, Chase & Status and Wolfgang Gartner.#dnbunitedrecords #dnbnation #dnb4life #dnbmusic #dnbarena #dnbfamily

Pukklepop festival 2011...
post from Skunk Anansie:"Still at Pukklepop festival after a burning hot sunny day turned into a mini hurricane which hit the stage during our set, a tower fell onto our truck, we had to run for our lives mid-set as hail hit the stage and the wind began to tear it to pieces, we were unable to continue to play, this was the scariest moment I have ever seen or felt in my 20 years of being an artist. The rumour is 5 people died today, my heart goes out to all their families, very sad time. Skin" :(

Hi! Im..well JLIAMR anon. But call me Joy.:) They’re not my all time favorite as Im more into totally different kind of music. But amongst Korean artist, I think they are one of the best! 😊 They were on Pukklepop festival! 😊
Oh well that explains everything! Pukkelpop is a festival -in my opinion- more oriented at the ‘youth’ as in 17-18 years old; i didn’t follow their line-up so I must have missed them BUT DAMN like seriously it’s like a 40 min drive or so from my home 😭 Anyway, nice to meet you, Joy! 🤗 What kind of music do you enjoy? A totally different kind, you said, so I’m really curious!!

Loadstar ★ I Need The Night / Guerilla Ram Records 🇬🇧 February 4, 2017 |http://www.dnbunited.com/single-post/2017/02/04/Loadstar--I-Need-The-Night-Guerilla-Ram-Records-🇬🇧
I hear it all the time. “Millennials are such hipsters!” If you aren’t harkening back to the past you aren’t trending. Vinyl is coming back, people are wearing Buddy Holly glasses without knowing who Buddy Holly is, and everything done in the last few years in the music scene has to have some kind of dance beat as if the disco era is trying to come back from the grave in the form of a misunderstood teenager looking for that perfect rave. The truth is that so much music sounds the same and putting a great beat to it is hit-and-miss on hiding the mediocrity that we have been holding onto for the last ten or so years. Thankfully the scene does have enough fresh faces to bring us some hope.
The millennial heartbeat can be heard within the new Loadstar album soon to come out of RAM records. “I Need the Night” has that a nostalgic feel of 90s techno divided into three distinct sounds: the near-whisper vocals reverberating across beautiful sound mixing of electronica, the quick rush of the drums, and the ever-present heartbeat of the millennials reminding those who are both new and original fans that Loadstar is back and better than ever. We are the night, we are the future, and this is our heartbeat. A Millennial Heartbeat   Eric Boyd: Contributor/writer DNB◉UNITED RECORDS DNB◉UNITED.COM
Loadstar’s ‘I Need The Night’ is the British drum & bass stars’ first single from their forthcoming new album, also entitled ‘I Need The Night’. The single is accompanied by a second album track, ‘Guerrilla’; both are available on all streaming services and DSPs from 19 January via Ram Records/BMG. ‘I Need The Night’ is a soaring, epic statement of intent from Loadstar, the perfect opening salvo in a year that will see them release their eagerly awaited second album (on 28th April), alongside further singles (to be announced). The lead single track is released alongside ‘Guerilla’, a no-nonsense, straight to the heart of the dancefloor cut that shows Loadstar’s feet are still planted firmly in the rave, even if their journey has, at times, taken them far beyond itSince the release of Nick and Gavin’s debut album, ‘Future Perfect’, Loadstar have solidified their reputation as one of Europe’s biggest drum & bass acts.
