Ok ladies and gentlemen and others, I have FINALLY come up with the names, ages, race, and small bios for Jason and Y/N's kids they've adopted! If you are unaware what this is about I have a little thing going on that I came up with (because I'm delulu) about Jason and Y/N having 16 kids. Yes, you read that correctly. 16. You can find the explanation here in my Jason Todd's Family masterlist or click this one here to be sent to the post instead.
Alex: 10 years old, white, brown eyes, dark brown/blackish short hair, deaf. He loves walking in the woods with Y/N and their dog Barney, and drawing. (Sorry, he's my favorite)
Maddie: 6 years old, white, heterochromia (one blue eye and one brown eye), blonde long hair, hyper. She loves to climb on things, run around with the chickens outside and throw rocks in the pond.
Lilly: 6 years old, white, green eyes, black shoulder length hair, timet and shy. She loves sitting with the horses and reading to them, helping Y/N cook, and coloring.
Ben: 8 years old, Korean, dark brown eyes, short black hair, wears glasses (I thought it was cute). He loves swimming, reading, and dinosaurs.
Christopher: 11 years old, black, brown eyes, short, buzz cut like, black hair, almost always smiling. He loves watching movies (specifically Bugs Life), camping, and watching the fish in the pond.
Rose: 4 years old, Mexican, light brown eyes, long wavy black hair, shy but hyper. She loves flowers, dresses, spending time with Jason and Y/N, and listening to music.
Amy: 5 years old, twin, pale white, blue eyes, chin length red hair, freckles, giggles a lot. She loves playing in the mud, riding the horses, and dolls.
Amara: 5 years old, twin, pale white, blue eyes, shoulder length red hair, freckles, also giggles a lot. She loves swinging, dolls, and playing at the park for hours.
Zeppelin: 13 years old, Puerto Rican, dark brown eyes, short curly hair, a few freckles, quiet. He loves listening to Y/N read to him, going to the library, and watching The Office.
Dean: 15 years old, white, green eyes, short dirty blonde hair, freckles, quiet yet hyper. He loves music, movies, knives, and taking pictures of the wildlife.
Ezekiel: 2 years old, Chinese, dark brown/black eyes, short black, messy hair, sweet. He loves spending time with Dick, playing with stuffed animals (his favorite is a blue narwhal), taking walks while he sits in his blue wagon, and watching SpongeBob.
Riley: 9 years old, white/tan ish, gray eyes, short/pixie cut white hair with pink tips, shy yet can be loud. She loves painting and drawing, taking pictures of flowers, skateboarding, and singing with Jason.
Sasha: 18 years old, black, blue eyes, wavy black hair with red stripes, outgoing. She loves helping Y/N bake (she takes some for later), learning about literature, hanging out with her friends at the coffee shop, and writing.
Michaela: 10 years old, Mexican, light golden brown eyes, short brown hair, mute. She loves to stick to Y/N and Jason's side like glue, playing dress up and with her Nightwing action figure (don't tell Jason...), sitting with the cows, and watching cartoons.
Mathew: 4 years old, white, brown eyes, dark blue fluffy short hair, wears glasses. He loves coloring, the park (specifically the slides), ducks, and walking in the water (under supervision).
Angel: 11 years old, white, heterochromia (one green eye and one blue eye), short on the sides and longish in the middle (kinda like a mowhawk) black hair, occasionally a menace. He loves watching action movies, helping Jason fix things, shaving one of the dogs..., and reading with Y/N.

your OCs have been Mew-ified! (granted the ability to transform into a superhero with characteristics* and powers based on one animal** on the endangered species list specifically) what animal are they turning into?
*characteristics include tails, wings, ears, and antennae
**can be bugs
Morgan would turn into a Puerto Rican broad-winged hawk. She’d love being able to fly, and the keener vision doesn’t hurt either 😂
Amelia would turn into a Spider Monkey for the jokes 😂 also she loves being able to swing around in trees and have much-improved agility.
(Spider Monkey isn’t part of the list linked at the bottom but it’s listed as endangered here)
Reyna would turn into a Bartram's hairstreak Butterfly—she thinks they look so cool, their wings are beautiful 🥰 (and insects can’t vibe)
Lucy (who isn’t getting left out of the fun—for the sake of this, we’ll pretend she can turn into an Earth animal) would turn into an Elfin-woods warbler—she’d love the wings, the freedom of flying, and the ability to sing in a bird like way.

LLAMAS EN VITRAL. 2021.
This is an old piece, with my old art style, part of an artober wildlife challenge. Instead of a prompt per day, like inktober, this challenge was one illustration a week. Each week had three prompts to choose from, but I decided to use all three in one illustration instead.
If you are curious, the illustration for the first week is here.
The prompts for the second week were feathers, darkness, and sound.
This piece had a lot of reworks. The original sketch is nothing like the finished product. I kept changing, deleting, and starting from scratch on multiple occasions.
The name of this piece translated to stained glass, because of her wings, but actually, they're inspired by multiple pictures I saw of hummingbird wings in the light, so they are meant to be actual feathers. The flower crown is made up of marigolds, which are the birth flower of October. The instrument she's playing is a Puerto Rican Cuatro.
I'm also thinking of re-drawing this concept with my current art style, but who knows if that will ever happen, lol.

A similar thing happened to me as a teen.
I lived in the Puerto Rican countryside for a few years, and while I was there I befriended a feral cat. I called her Emerald, and she took up residence in our garage.
Then Emerald had kittens, and I kept watch over them, made sure they grew well, and they did. Then the girl kittens would get pregnant and have kittens. Some kittens would die a few days after birth, some would get killed by wildlife, but they overwhelmingly died from being hit by cars.
Our property sat right on a blindspot of the road. Naturally these kittens would play in the road and get hit by cars. No matter how much I tried to keep them away from the road, there's no controlling outdoor cats. Some would even climb up into the underside of our cars as we left the house and end up running off miles away from home.
Over and over, I'd watch cats I'd raised from day one get hit by cars and die. Some would get flattened like roadkill, some would manage to get back onto the property to die. All would get thrown in the garbage by my mother so the other cats wouldn't dig up their bodies.
One of them, his name was Smoke, ended up incontinent with the back half of his body paralyzed after getting hit by a car. He was always covered in shit, and ants would crawl all over him. He couldn't move, and he couldn't feel them. He was like that until we could afford to get him put down.
Another cat, Logan, who I rescued after a hurricane, got hit by a car and died right next to me. Another, Nala, who I'd rescued from our neighbors, died of heatstroke. Another, Hope, who would see me and run to butt me with his big stupid orange head, hit by a car and died right outside our front door. I saw his body first thing the next morning. I wasn't even there to comfort him.
My mother refused to pay to neuter cats that "weren't ours." I raised over thirty cats from birth while I lived there, and I watched over thirty cats die.
These cats were the highlight of my life at the lowest I'd ever been. I loved them so much. I'd bottle fed them, I'd learned to treat minor injuries they'd get, I spent all of the money I'd get from birthdays and holidays feeding them and getting them toys, I'd spend hours washing out the garage they all stayed in. I loved them so fucking much, yet they all suffered awful deaths that I couldn't prevent because I couldn't bring them inside.
Letting a cat outdoors is abusive. They cannot survive safely outdoors. If you see an outdoor cat, collared or not, and you take them home, you're doing them an incredible service. Put some effort into owning your pets.
i'll tell you what converted me to being all-in on keeping cats indoors only:
living for a year and a half in a rural area with a sudden feral cat colony explosion on the property.
i moved in with my folks for a bit and at that time, one (1) stray cat mama had taken up residence on the property, but was too feral to let my mother anywhere near her. but especially after she brought three kittens around, mom fed her and the kittens in hopes they'd grow trusting enough she could catch for spay and neuter at the minimum. momcat stayed mean and hella wary, but the kittens would hang around a little nearer and play with my mom via long stick, but still wouldn't come close enough to touch or catch.
unfortunately, two of the three kittens were girls and started having kittens of their own before further progress was made, shortly after i moved in. and that was pretty much instant doom.
there were so many kittens. SO MANY. multiple litters. every time we turned around, more kittens.
we fed them. we hunted for and located the kittens every time anywhere on the property and would move them to a repurposed doghouse anytime a mama cat had them somewhere else, so that they could grow up human-socialized and we could spay/neuter them when they were old enough. (also it was a handy tactic to push the issue of the mamas getting more used to/trusting of us themselves. only really worked with one of them, though.)
and we watched them die.
we watched litter after litter of kittens never make it to the age they could be spayed or neutered. the moms stayed, for the longest time, too skittish to more than briefly touch, much less catch and crate for a vet visit.
it sounds like a silly joke to say i have kitten-related ptsd, but i absolutely do.
too many goddamn times i'd walk out of the garage and find the carport and gravel drive strewn with tiny bodies. others simply went missing, never to be found.
one in particular, i wish i hadn't found, and the visual literally haunts me still, almost a decade later.
i saw so many kittens die of snake bite, spider bite, wild dogs, birds of prey, hit by cars, respiratory illness, covered in fleas and eyes crusted with infection.
and we loved them all. scrimped for antibiotics if the vet could be convinced to give it to us despite our being unable to bring them in. bought flea collars and ointments. we cared for them and fed them and petted them and played with them, brushed their fur and cleaned up their little faces, put ice in their water in hot summer, rigged a heating lamp in their house in the winter.
and they died. horribly. that property is pocked with unmarked graves of kittens and cats.
all the best intentions, not enough resources, and it didn't matter anyways because the population went from three to almost twenty (at times, over thirty) in the blink of an eye.
they died and died and died. our hearts broke over and over again. the stress and anxiety wore us down like sandpaper. i think, by the end of it all, we managed to find less than 10 of them all homes, including batman the disabled kitten i found a home across the country through tumblr.
it was carnage and tragedy, frankly. and we were helpless.
it only ended because they started dying faster than they could be born, and because we finally caught the two remaining mom cats in traps and got them spayed.
the points about outdoor cats being invasive predators devastating to local wildlife populations is true and valid and important.
but i know cat people, and cat people who don't know better than to let cats outdoors. what matters to you is the cat itself, generally. the cat being happy and taken care of.
keeping cats outdoors, letting them outdoors, is not taking care of the cats. it's not protecting them. it's not giving them any happiness or invigoration that couldn't be provided to them as indoor-only pets with just a little research and effort.
they die. they get ill. they get hurt. they're at risk of predators, and cars, and disease, and carelessly cruel children and deliberately cruel adults. they're at risk of disappearing on you because someone else saw a cat outdoors and intervened to give it a better, safer life not in conflict with the local environment.
and if that offends and angers you that someone would just take a cat they saw roaming outdoors, even collared, and that it sounds like i'm endorsing that, i am, but not if you intervene and be that person yourself for your own cat.
if what matters to you is doing right by your cat because it's family and a living creature whose happiness and health and safety is important to you,
keep them indoors. not part time. always. exclusively.

🇵🇷 Every now and then on a Saturday, there’s always something new to see whenever we’re in Puerto Rico. During most of our visits, my family and I venture to the southern and western coasts of the island. Today, after listening to recommendations throughout the week at Union Church, my mom, my sister, and I found a swing at a beach after a short hike to find it. 🌴🌊

No Cat is an Island
Tumblr media
Tropical islands bring to mind warm breezes, the briny, calming scent of the ocean, and thriving flora and fauna. But for cats and kittens who are at home on many islands, their lives in paradise are threatened by lethal action at the hands of misguided governments.
Alley Cat Allies is stepping up in several island communities to protect cats, challenge deadly policies, and train the next generation of our movement.
Puerto Rico
Tumblr media
In a historic action, Alley Cat Allies filed a lawsuit against the U.S. National Park Service (NPS) to save San Juan’s community cats from eradication. We aim to put an end to NPS’s cruel, futile, and unlawful plan to remove and kill cats on federal lands in Puerto Rico.
For generations, community cats have lived in peace along the rocky shores of the scenic Paseo Del Morro. They are adored by locals and tourists alike and are woven into the fabric of Puerto Rican culture. Now they face a deadly threat from the NPS, which is determined to rip the cats from their natural outdoor homes and their community, including by lethal means.
Alley Cat Allies has worked with local advocates and connected with the local government to stop this deadly scheme. We’ve also provided a grant for Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), veterinary care, food, and other services for the Paseo del Morro cats.
We won’t back down when cats’ lives are on the line.
Learn more at alleycat.org/PuertoRico.
The Cayman Islands
Tumblr media
Alley Cat Allies does not stand silent as cats are scapegoated—and killed—for wildlife species loss because governments don’t want to confront the true cause: human-led development. For the past year and a half, we’ve condemned government removal and killing of Cayman Islands cats, and we continue to take measures to shield them from cruel and pointless lethal control.
As we keep up the fight, we’re also leading the way with humane, effective policies. Our grants to local organizations are providing ongoing TNR and other critical care to hundreds of Cayman Islands cats and kittens. The gratitude of these cats’ caregivers and families is the proof: Cayman Islands residents care about their cats, and our voice on cats’ behalf is THEIR voice, too.

Saint Kitts and Nevis
Growing a powerful movement means ensuring the next generation is ready to take up the lifesaving mantle. That’s why we launched the Alley Cat Allies Veterinarian Training Program™, starting in the Caribbean islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis!
In late March, Alley Cat Allies presented to students and licensed veterinarians at the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine about community cats, best practices for TNR, and unique veterinary and surgical techniques tailored to helping unowned cats who live outdoors. Some of these incredible students are already providing critical care and education to help cats on Saint Kitts and Nevis, and we’re proud to give them the tools for even greater success.

Since our founding in 1990, Alley Cat Allies has guided veterinary professionals to develop best practices and familiarize themselves with treating community cats and carrying out TNR. The goal of our Veterinarian Training Program is to help both experienced and novice veterinarians bring the most effective TNR techniques to their communities to save more lives.

Brooklyn Centre Historic District
Pearl Rd.
Cleveland, OH
Brooklyn Centre is a neighborhood on the West Side of Cleveland, Ohio.  The Brooklyn Centre Historic District is roughly bounded by Interstate 71, Pearl Rd., and Big Creek Valley.  It borders Old Brooklyn to the south, Stockyards, Clark–Fulton, and Tremont to the north, and the Cuyahoga Valley and the suburb of Cuyahoga Heights to the east.  Brooklyn Centre was founded in 1812 by James Fish and became the first settlement west of the Cuyahoga River. Two years later, around 200 people lived at Brooklyn Centre.  Later, Brooklyn Centre became a township.
Brooklyn Centre was originally settled by residents from Connecticut who had purchased land from investors of the Connecticut Western Reserve.   Although first settled in the 1820s along Pearl Street, the lifeline to Cleveland, a substantial business district developed around the intersection of Pearl and Denison after the extension of a streetcar line 1869.   Brooklyn Centre became a part of Cleveland with the annexation of Brooklyn Village in 1894. The oldest remaining houses in Brooklyn Centre date from the middle of the 19th century. German immigrants arrived starting in the late 19th century, followed by Polish and Irish arrivals in the early 20th century. These new settlers relocated to the east end of the neighborhood so that they would be close to the factories in and around the Cuyahoga Valley such as the tanneries and steel mills.
Most residential development occurred, however, after annexation between 1900 and 1915 and is a mix of one- and two-families and small multi-family buildings.  In the early 1960s, the neighborhood was changed dramatically with the construction of I-71. Entire streets were lost and new cul-de-sacs and dead ends were created, changing the fabric of the neighborhood. In 1984, the City of Cleveland created the Brooklyn Centre Historic District, recognizing the location's historic and architectural importance.  It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 4, 1999.
In November 2004, The Brooklyn Centre Historical Society published Reflections from Brooklyn Centre: Presentations and Oral Histories from The Brooklyn Centre Historical Society. In November 2008, Brooklyn Centre became a National Wildlife Federation registered Community Wildlife Habitat Site, and was among the first city neighborhoods to obtain the designation.  The eastern portion of Brooklyn Centre is known as Barbarowa.  Brooklyn Centre is bordered on the east by the Cuyahoga River I-176/The Jennings Freeway. The west border is I-71. The border to the south is Big Creek which runs through the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and is the largest tributary that flows into the Cuyahoga. The northern border is a city street named Trowbridge.
Today, Brooklyn Centre is a diverse neighborhood, with a mixed population of ethnic Europeans, African Americans, and, most prominently, a growing Hispanic community, Puerto Rican and otherwise. As of 2019, Brooklyn Centre had an estimated foreign-born population of 17.3%, with most being immigrants from Latin America (especially Guatemala, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico).  In 2020, the composition of the neighborhood was 61.1% white, 21.1% African American, 1.6% Asian and Pacific Islander, and 16.1% mixed and other groups. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 37.8% of the population.   Pearl Road is still the neighborhood’s main commercial street, and industrial uses are located in and near the Big Creek Valley and Cuyahoga River.

Why is Costa Rica One of the Best Destinations for Family Vacations?
Tumblr media
Are you thinking about taking your kids for an overseas vacation? Costa Rica might be the perfect destination for you. The country is a good destination for family vacations, especially for a first international trip with kids. So start looking for Costa Rica family vacation packages for a memorable experience, but first, let us see why Costa Rica is the perfect destination for family travel.
Culture
This is one of the main reasons why Costa Rica is a family-friendly destination. The people are very friendly and genuinely kind. They love kids, and family life is important for them. On Sundays, the locals are usually devoted to spending time with family. You can see them spending time on the beach, playing soccer or barbequing. Since family is embedded in their culture, it is a great place to bring kids. So, when looking for Costa Rica family vacation packages, look for the ones that will allow you to experience the Costa Rican culture and values.
Tourism is Established
The country is set up for tourism, which makes it great for families. Tourism is the number one industry in Costa Rica, so planning your trip will be relatively easy. There are plenty of destinations within the country, and hence you will have no problem finding the right transportation, hotels, and activities.
Many hotels and restaurants are also set up for children. They offer portable cribs for older children if you are traveling with a baby or bed configurations. Most restaurants at popular destinations have kids’ menus. Rental car agencies also offer car seats for getting around.
Though the place is established for tourism, it does not mean that you will miss out on the cultural experience. Costa Rica locals take great pride in their country and love sharing with others. So, your guide is likely to teach you about their way of life and even let you practice Spanish.
Safety
From the crime perspective, Costa Rica is quite safe. The country has a peaceful democracy. Since it has no army, you will not see any military personnel when moving around. Most crimes are petty theft, which can be avoided by taking precautions. Bags left on the sand while you are swimming are a great target for thieves. But you can prevent this by bringing nothing of value with you.
Although food safety concerns exist in some Latin American countries, they don’t apply in Costa Rica. Even raw foods are safe to eat. You can let your kids try fruits right from the local market. The water is also safe almost everywhere. The government regulates water treatment.
However, some exceptions might be certain beach towns in Drake Bay, Puerto Rico, Guanacaste, Tortuguero, and Viejo de Talamanca. You should only drink filtered water when traveling in these towns. Most restaurants, vacation rentals, and hotels here provide filtered water. You can always ask if you are not sure.
Kid-Friendly Activities
Costa Rica is a playground for kids. You can find a host of kid-friendly activities. Some wildlife rehabilitation centers will let them get up close to animals; you can go for night tours to see creepy crawlers or visit hanging bridges through the forest canopy.
In Conclusion
Therefore, Costa Rica is one of the best family vacation destinations you can find there. So get ready for an out-of-place vacation for you and your kids by finding ebay vacation packages for your family.
