A couple years back on Twitter I posted a prediction that New PSG would spoof the classic Trigger/Gainax villain twist by having P&S team up with the demon sisters to rebel against Heaven. The Newgen Angels Ester & Thane definitely fall in line with this theory, and I'd like to further propose that the ghost Stocking doppelganger that killed Panty at the end of season 1 was planted by Heaven to justify deploying the angel brothers to Daten City, because they're secretly serving as enforcers for whatever plan it is they're working on.
