“O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
O that today you would hearken to his voice!”

(Salmo 95:1)

This Psalm has no title, and all we know of its authorship is that Paul quotes it as “in David.” (Heb 4:7.) Could I Turn Away from Love?
I heard a wonderful message from a young preacher this morning from Psalm 95. He was calm and deliberate. Accurate and clear with his exposition, and didn’t try to impress with cleverness. He was simply vulnerable and honest with the text. It was encouraging and a glory to the God he serves and that we both love. And then this thought . . . Love must always be protected and never taken for…

PSALMS S.O.A.P. ~ PSALM 95
Wednesday, 11/29/23
SCRIPTURE:
Come, let’s worship and bow down; let’s kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, the sheep under His care. Today, if you hear His voice: Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as on that day at Massah in the wilderness ~ Psalms 95: 6-8
OBSERVATION:
He is the Lord...
...my Maker...
He is my God...
I am in His care...
IF I hear His voice? (Why should this even be a question... other than I may be too self-absorbed to be listening...)
APPLICATION: (Pulling in verses 1, 2, & 3)
Come...
...enter His presence...
...shout and sing joyfully and triumphantly...
...worship, kneel, and bow down...
...listen for and to His voice...
...do not harden my heart
PRAYER:
Father God - forgive me when I forget my place in Your world... when I put my wants over Your commands... May I always stop first and consider Your greatness and awesomeness in even the smallest things, and give You the thanks and joyful and joy-filled praise and worship You are worthy of... In Jesus's Name, Father, and for Your glory and honor...
Joyfully for you and yours - because of Him...

Daily Prayer for the Lord's Day, December 2022
Daily Prayer for the Lord’s Day, December 2022
Prayer: Grant almighty God that your redeemed people purchased by the work and blood of the Passover lamb would come to worship you with joy and delight as we think of your blessings and sing with gladness in our hearts for all that you have done for us. We pray, our Father, that you would warm our hearts and affections about you. We ask that you would plainly speak to us through your Word, read…

Psalm 95
A little boy once asked his father, “Daddy, what’s the highest number you’ve ever counted to?” “I don’t know, son,” the father replied. “What’s the highest number you’ve ever counted to?” “973,” the boy quickly replied. “Why did you stop there?” the father inquired. (more…)

Let’s bow down and worship our Creator
6 Come, let’s bow down and worship him. Let’s kneel before the Lord who made us. 7 He is our God. And we are the people he takes care of and the sheep that he tends.
