“The earth is filled with your love, Lord; teach me your decrees.” —Psalm 119:64 (NIV)
“Lord, you love everyone on earth; please teach me what to do.” —Psalm 119:64 (FBV)
“Your love, God, fills the earth! Train me to live by your counsel.” —Psalm 119:57‭-‬64 (MSG)
“Give me more revelation of your ways, for I see your love and tender care everywhere. Your extravagant kindness to me makes me want to follow your words even more! Teach me how to make good decisions, and give me revelation-light, for I believe in your commands. Before I was humbled I used to always wander astray, but now I see the wisdom of your words. Everything you do is beautiful, flowing from your goodness; teach me the power of your wonderful words!” —Psalm 119:64‭-‬68 (TPT)
“10 Things to Know About Psalm 119” By Kevin Halloran:
“Many of us desire to love God’s Word more, but are unsure of how to cultivate those desires. Psalm 119 is a heartfelt prayer from the Psalmist that can be used as a tool to transform your affections to love God’s Word more. Here are 10 Things to Know about Psalm 119:
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible with 176 verses. It has a similar length to some of the Bible’s shorter books like Philippians, James, or Ruth!
The purpose of this Psalm is to celebrate God’s word and instruction to his people. It is used in Jewish tradition to celebrate Rosh Hashanah (which is Jewish New Year). This holiday is the first of a series of holidays called Yamim Nora’im, or in English ‘Days of Awe.’ It is fitting to use this psalm in that setting because the Psalmist beautifully expresses awe and adoration of God for his Word. Here is one verse commonly used in this celebration: “The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.” Psalm 119:72
The structure of Psalm 119 is comprised of 22 stanzas, each starting with a different letter in the Hebrew alphabet. Each stanza has 8 verses with two lines each.
There is a tradition in the Eastern Orthodox Church that King David used this psalm to teach his son Solomon both the Hebrew alphabet and the “alphabet of the spiritual life.”
Many of the verses mention God’s Word in one line, and then in the second line connect it to God’s revelation. Other words used to describe God’s revelation are: law, testimonies, precepts, statutes, commandments, word, and rules.
Psalm 119 is a prayer that includes many different elements, including prayers of praise (45-48), lament (81-88), vindication (132-134), obedience (57-64), and petitions for wisdom (33-40).
David Powlison observes, “Psalm 119 is actually not about the topic of getting Scripture into your life. Instead, it is the honest words that erupt when what God says gets into you. It’s not an exhortation to Bible study; it’s an outcry of faith…Psalm 119 is the thoughtful outcry that rises when real life meets real God.” (Speaking the Truth in Love, p. 14). “It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes.” Psalm 119:71
Charles Spurgeon liked this Psalm so much, he said, “we might do well to commit it to memory.” That’s a tall order for a Psalm that has 176 verses! He also had this to say about it from his Psalm 119 commentary: “As those who drink the Nile water like it better every time they take a draught, so does this Psalm become more full and fascinating the oftener you turn to it.”
The song “Thy Word” by Amy Grant is based on one of the most memorable verses from this beloved Psalm, verse 105 which says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (KJV). You can listen to the song here.
Use this Psalm as a tuning fork to tune your heart to love God’s Word more. Read the psalm straight through and pray that God will shape your life and heart to love him and his Word more!”

The Creator and His Creation: Think About Who GOD is, and Who YOU Are...
We recently bought a car, and it came with a manual from the folks who made it. There are a bunch of electronics and features we wouldn’t even know about if we hadn’t been given the owner’s manual (in both book and digital format, btw). This book from the people who made the car contains almost everything you need to know about your vehicle. Doesn’t it make sense to get information from the…

Psalm 119:64 The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me Thy statutes.
Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
John 12:24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Mark 5:19 And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”
Psalm 51:1-2 Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love; according to Your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
May you earnestly desire the privilege of dwelling in the house of the Lord, abiding in His presence, surrounded by His glory, ministering to Him, for just as the temple had many private chambers for the priests, so Jesus promised that in His Fathers house are many rooms, which He has gone to prepare. Ezekiel 42, John 14
May you put away any thing which receives the portion designated for and claimed by God – any thing or any one to whom you give worship and complete surrender, devotion above all others, thanksgiving and praise for what you have, confession and repentance for forgiveness and cleansing – for only as you remove from the throne what you have placed there and give to God that which belongs to God, and to the world that which belongs to the world, will the Lord come to live and abide with you forever. Ezekiel 43
May you know that the goods and wealth which can be hoarded will not be of use when you truly need it in the day of the Lord, so owe no man any debt except the debt of love, and let good works, done in obedience to the Father, lay up true riches suitable for eternity and appropriate to offer the King. James 5
May you be patient until the Lord's coming, just as the farmer waits for the land to yield its crop, waiting for the rain in due season, standing firm because His arrival is near, not grumbling against each other, for the Judge is already at the door. James 5
May you be blessed as you persevere in patient suffering for righteousness sake, as did the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord, for you have heard of Job's perseverance, and have seen what the Lord, full of compassion and mercy, finally brought about. James 5
May your speech be plain, without embellishments, that you may not dishonor your Head and that men may know that you are walking in integrity. James 5
May you turn to God continually each day, conversing with Him, listening to what the Spirit says, in all states, whether you are in trouble and distress, or happy and full of praise, or ill in body or mind and needing the support and strength of the called out ones, for the prayer offered by faith in the name of the Lord will make the sick well and bring the sinner forgiveness as you confess to, and pray for, each other for healing through the powerful and effective prayer of righteousness in Christ. James 5
May you remember that whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins. James 5
My child, I call you to work, not to idleness. It is a sacred work that I assign you, one for which you have been shaped and formed by My Hand, trained and equipped by My Spirit. It is not a work you can do in your own strength and skill, nor one that you can accomplish with your own strategies and wisdom. If you begin to feel you have been given an impossible task, My dear one, then you are beginning to truly see and hear what My Spirit is speaking to your heart. It is when you feel a dread inside and a concern that you have bitten off more than you can chew, when you start wondering if you were wise to promise to follow Me where I would lead you that I can begin to truly use you in My work. That is when, in desperation, you will begin to lay aside the useless tools of man and the worthless wisdom of the world and come to Me in humility, asking for My wisdom and seeking to find My strength in My Word. I rejoice to receive you at the time you feel the most worthless and the least valuable, for I can only use an empty vessel, not one filled with self-confidence and influenced by other agendas. Empty yourself, My precious one, and receive My infilling; seek Me early for your daily bread and wine and oil, then go in My strength and joy and glory to fulfill My commission, returning empty but obedient, having gone forth bearing fruit and returning bearing the harvest.
May your ways be undefiled, upright, truly sincere and blameless as you order your conduct and conversation according to the revealed will of God, for you shall be blessed, happy, fortunate and to be envied. Psalm 119
May you seek the Lord, inquiring for and of Him, craving Him with your whole heart, for those who keep His testimonies and statutes will be joyful, blessed, happy, and fortunate. Psalm 119
May you walk in the ways of the Lord that you will do no unrighteousness or willful wandering from His precepts. Psalm 119
May you keep the precepts of the Lord and observe them diligently as He has commanded, fully obeying them for the joy set before you. Psalm 119
May your ways be steadfast, directed and established, in hearing, receiving, loving and obeying His decrees, for then you will not be put to shame by failing to inherit His promises, when you have respect to all the commands of the Lord. Psalm 119
May you praise Him and give thanks to Him with an upright heart as you learn by sanctified experiences His righteous decisions against and punishments for particular lines of thought and conduct, for He will not forsake you utterly as you obey His decrees. Psalm 119
May you take heed to and keep watch on yourself, conforming your life according to His word, that you may cleanse and keep your way pure. Psalm 119
May you seek the Lord with all your heart, inquiring for and of Him, ever yearning for Him, that He will not let you wander, stray, or step aside, willfully or in ignorance, from His commands. Psalm 119
May you lay up His word in your heart that you might not sin against Him. Psalm 119
May you declare and recount with your lips all the laws and ordinances that come from His mouth, praising the Lord as He teaches you His decrees and statutes. Psalm 119
May you rejoice in following His statutes as others rejoice in great riches. Psalm 119
May you never forget or neglect the word of the Lord, but delight yourself in His statutes, rejoice in His decrees, and meditate on His precepts, having respect to the paths of life marked out by His law, as you consider His ways. Psalm 119
May you be discerning enough to prefer being a poor person who walks blameless in his integrity rather than a rich man whose ways are perverse, gaining his wealth through double-dealing. Proverbs 28:6
May you be a discerning child of God who heeds the law of the Lord, not entertaining companions who serve worthlessness. Proverbs 28:7

The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.
Psalms 119:64 KJV
God created the earth. He created the laws that govern the earth and the laws that govern the journey to heaven. In this Psalm, the first step is taken by learning the way: asking the Lord for what you want.

20th November >> Mass Readings (Except USA)
Monday, Thirty Third Week in Ordinary Time
(Liturgical Colour: Green: A (1))
First Reading 1 Maccabees 1:10-15,41-43,54-57,62-64 The persecution of Antiochus Epiphanes.
There grew a sinful offshoot, Antiochus Epiphanes, son of King Antiochus; once a hostage in Rome, he became king in the one hundred and thirty-seventh year of the kingdom of the Greeks. It was then that there emerged from Israel a set of renegades who led many people astray. ‘Come,’ they said ‘let us reach an understanding with the pagans surrounding us, for since we separated ourselves from them many misfortunes have overtaken us.’ This proposal proved acceptable, and a number of the people eagerly approached the king, who authorised them to practise the pagan observances. So they built a gymnasium in Jerusalem, such as the pagans have, disguised their circumcision, and abandoned the holy covenant, submitting to the heathen rule as willing slaves of impiety.
Then the king issued a proclamation to his whole kingdom that all were to become a single people, each renouncing his particular customs. All the pagans conformed to the king’s decree, and many Israelites chose to accept his religion, sacrificing to idols and profaning the sabbath. The king erected the abomination of desolation above the altar; and altars were built in the surrounding towns of Judah and incense offered at the doors of houses and in the streets. Any books of the Law that came to light were torn up and burned. Whenever anyone was discovered possessing a copy of the covenant or practising the Law, the king’s decree sentenced him to death.
Yet there were many in Israel who stood firm and found the courage to refuse unclean food. They chose death rather than contamination by such fare or profanation of the holy covenant, and they were executed. It was a dreadful wrath that visited Israel.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 118(119):53,61,134,150,155,158
R/ Give me life, O Lord, and I will do your will.
I am seized with indignation at the wicked who forsake your law. Though the nets of the wicked ensnared me I remembered your law.
R/ Give me life, O Lord, and I will do your will.
Redeem me from man’s oppression and I will keep your precepts. Those who harm me unjustly draw near; they are far from your law.
R/ Give me life, O Lord, and I will do your will.
Salvation is far from the wicked who are heedless of your statutes. I look at the faithless with disgust; they ignore your promise.
R/ Give me life, O Lord, and I will do your will.
Gospel Acclamation John 8:12
Alleluia, alleluia! I am the light of the world, says the Lord; anyone who follows me will have the light of life. Alleluia!
Gospel Luke 18:35-43 'Son of David, have pity on me'.
As Jesus drew near to Jericho there was a blind man sitting at the side of the road begging. When he heard the crowd going past he asked what it was all about, and they told him that Jesus the Nazarene was passing by. So he called out, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me.’ The people in front scolded him and told him to keep quiet, but he shouted all the louder, ‘Son of David, have pity on me.’ Jesus stopped and ordered them to bring the man to him, and when he came up, asked him, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ ‘Sir,’ he replied ‘let me see again.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Receive your sight. Your faith has saved you.’ And instantly his sight returned and he followed him praising God, and all the people who saw it gave praise to God for what had happened.
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalms 119:57-64 You are my satisfaction, Lord, and all that I need, so I’m determined to do everything you say. With all my heart I seek your favor; pour out your grace on me as you promised! When I realize that I’m going astray, I turn back to obey your instructions. I give my all to follow your revelation-light; I will not delay to obey. Even when temptations encircle me with evil, I won’t forget for a moment to follow your commands. In the middle of the night, I awake to give thanks to you because of all your revelation light—so right and true! Anyone who loves you and bows in obedience to your words will be my friend. Give me more revelation of your ways, for I see your love and tender care everywhere.
Sober me Lord, of the things that intoxicate me, numb me, and dull my senses.  Remove everything that attracts my thoughts and attention from the true and living God, and leaves me in a stupper.  Oh Lord, that I would drink deeply of Your Spirit and allow You to fill me continuously with Your fullness of all things good. That I might then pour out of myself and testify of Your faithfulness and Love.  For, You, so love the world You gave...You saved...Even when I was full of the world You loved me and saved me. God, my portion, You, loved the world out of me. May the world know that You so loved the world that You gave, You made a way for those in the world to inherit the King and His Kingdom. Why Me?
To the choirmaster. A Maskil of the Sons of Korah.
1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days in the times of old. 2 How thou didst drive out the Gentiles with thy hand and plant them in their place; how thou didst afflict the peoples and cast them out. 3 For they did not get the land in inheritance by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them, but thy right hand and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance because thy delight was in them. 4 Thou art my King, O God; command saving health unto Jacob. 5 Through thee will we push down our enemies; through thy name will we tread under those that rise up against us. 6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. 7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies and hast put to shame those that hated us. 8 In God we boast all the day long and praise thy name for ever. Selah. 9 But thou hast cast us off and put us to shame and doth not go forth with our armies. 10 Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy, and we are spoiled by those who hate us. 11 Thou hast given us over like sheep appointed for food and hast scattered us among the Gentiles. 12 Thou hast sold thy people for nothing and dost not increase thy wealth by their price. 13 Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to those that are round about us. 14 Thou makest us a byword among the Gentiles, a shaking of the head among the people. 15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face has covered me, 16 for the voice of him that reproaches and blasphemes by reason of the enemy and of the avenger. 17 All this is come upon us; yet we have not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant. 18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way 19 though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons and covered us with the shadow of death. 20 If we have forgotten the name of our God or stretched out our hands to a strange god, 21 shall not God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart. 22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. 23 Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? Arise, do not cast us off for ever. 24 Why dost thou hide thy face and forget our affliction and our oppression? 25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaves unto the earth. 26 Arise for our help and ransom us for thy mercies’ sake. — Psalm 44 | Jubilee Bible 2000 (JUB) Jubilee Bible 2000 Copyright © 2000, 2001, 2010 by Life Sentence Publishing, Inc. Psalm 119, 44 days of practice.
Tumblr media
After careful consideration this isn't a full log of my practice with this psalm, but I have this as motivation and as the shepherd stick of Lamed, I hope it guides to people to what I was guided to.
Tumblr media
Forever, O Lord, Your word stands in the heavens.
I will have to emphasize that this isn't an easy thing, and the thing that dawns from god as a gift to you is a very powerful tool/understanding. This isn't a small thing but a guiding influence, understanding, empowerment, and initiation.
To not waste letters aimlessly and ramble endlessly the practice started with a reverse abracadabra formula and then a normal abracadabra formula. You start with Stanza Aleph then Aleph and Beth then Aleph, Beth, and Gimel and each day you keep adding a stanza until you reach 22 letters stanzas. in the end of 22 days you start decreasing it afterward in reverse order. until you reach Aleph - Beth Aleph and done. The only thing you need for this practice is a sincere heart, a focused mind, a small tealight candle, your resilience to follow through. This practice is a cut-down version of @polyphanes 's Ordeal of Psalm 119. The first 22 days you're "walking up" the temple of letters, names, and words. The last 22 days you're "bringing down" the blessings of the letters, names, and words to yourself, your loved ones, family, friends, and foes. Part of the gnosis/insight I got from that practice is in this post. I will conclude with saying that there's hardship and adversity going to be invoked to make progress and significant change. You can't lift dumbbells and complain about muscle soreness, to cap it off with verse 64 which was very impactful for me.
The earth is filled with your love, Lord; teach me your decrees.
