a concept. to consider.
what if. what if there was a Remember Them reprise after the Thunder Saga.
"We are not to let them die in vain" except he's the only one left so it's "I am not to let them die in vain."
and there's no backing chorus of his men. because. they're all dead.
and the line takes on a whole new meaning now that he's the one who chose to let them die.
(not in vain. it can't have been in vain, it can't have been for nothing. i have to see her. i have to see her, because if i don't make it home, those men died for nothing. the ends always justify the means. i can justify anything as long as it ends with Penelope and Telemachus both in my arms again. but if it doesn't-
but it will. it will. it has to.)
and our-
...
-and my comrades will not die in vain...

Propaganda
Artemis Fowl: he's arguably the villain of the first book in the series. He exploited and blackmailed a vulnerable addict and used the information he got from that to eventually kidnap someone and extort money for her release.
Elphaba: One of the most iconic villains in cinema, Wicked takes her from the iconic Wicked Witch, cackling about getting Dorothy and her little dog too, to a justified revolutionary working in uncomfortable ( and probably sapphic ) ways to make a better world, actively using her reputation of evil for good. All through a simple change in perspective and added backstory
Rick Sanchez: No Propaganda Submitted
Jeanette: No Propaganda Submitted

listen, if your theatre production is comprised of a cast of like maybe a dozen people total and the singular set is like, entirely boxes/piles of literal garbage/scaffolding that never moves and maybe some chairs and a couple of props that will be recycled 20 times over in different ways throughout the show, it slaps! it simply just is an incredible production. I think this is a law of the universe or something.

I keep seeing people talking and wondering why the siren told Odysseus the truth about Scylla when she was planning to kill him anyway, but like—it makes sense to me?
Think about it from the siren’s perspective: she’s got this dude she’s trying to lure into the water so she can drown and eat him, he’s being extremely difficult (saying he’s afraid of the water) and resisting her song, he says he’ll get in the water if she just answers a question or two—
So she’s thinking, fine, I’ll answer his questions and then get this over with. It doesn’t matter what the question is, and it’s awfully convenient for her that it’s one she knows the answer to.
She has no reason to lie to him. As far she’s concerned, he’s going to die in a matter of minutes anyways, lying to him would be utterly pointless. Also, it’s a lot harder to come up with a lie on the spot than it is to tell the truth.
PLUS, she doesn’t know who Odysseus is! She doesn’t know that he has reputation for being a lying schemer and master planner!! She, AGAIN, has every reason to believe that he’s going to be dead very soon!
All she has to do is answer his question and he’ll get in the water. Why would she think to lie?

Greek chorus alignment chart
Legally Blonde the Musical - Chaotic Good
Hercules - Chaotic Neutral
Hadestown - Chaotic Evil
(edit: I've been told they fit the "lawful evil" role better, or even the "true neutral one", and I agree, but for the sake of consistency, I assigned them the chaotic evil allignment. This post isn't really serious I made it mostly in a humorous way)

i was thinking abt kid’s humanity and contemplating if i should post an analysis about it and then it hit me that maka albarn would probably listen to nightcore. but also i feel like soul would absolutely despise nightcore with his whole body (he gets a very visceral reaction. he really hates the sped up and squeaky voices nightcore makes) so it probably ends up with a lot of conversations like this:
soul “what r u listening to?”
maka, listening to Monster How should I Feel Nightcore “nothing. dw abt it.”
