hi for the ask game,,, can I learn a bit more about Kat,,, specifically with 🧐 and 🍝 (yes I know the obvious answer for the latter but like. does she like any other foods)
This one has been sitting in my drafts for a while. I finished it, saved it before adding tags, and then completely forgot about it lmaooo
🧐- Is your OC more logical or emotional?
Ough. That's a tough one. I'd say overall, Kat is more logical. She's been on the run for long enough that she knows what to do to survive, and she HAS to do that. If she slips up, even once, and word gets out she's a shapeshifter, that's a death sentence. She has to constantly balance staying completely inconspicuous with getting enough nutrients to keep herself in human form- basically, balance being a normal human with having to kill people to live. And because of that, she is very logical.
However, that's offset by the fact that if Kat ever gets in an emotional state, it's awful. Every now and then the stress just punches her in the face and she has a complete breakdown. These are few and far in between (though become more common during her time with Paisley&Crew, since they help her learn to manage her emotions better), but are often so bad she'll be in this mood for hours, even days. And, since at some point, she always has to go back to trying to survive- the more logical thought process- Kat never gets the time or ability to really recover from those breakdowns, which means the stress keeps building more and more until the next. Rinse and repeat.
🍝- What is/are your OC's favourite food(s)?
Haha. Well
Besides the obvious answer (To be fair she does that mostly to survive, she doesn't enjoy it much), Kat... doesn't actually eat that much. There are very few foods she can eat that won't mess up her body composition and appearance, and it's hard enough to stay as a human without other foods messing that up. So that immediately rules out a lot of fruits, veggies, meats, dairies- basically anything that is naturally grown or animal product will mess up her composition.
However, that doesn't mean she can't eat anything else! A lot of processed foods, which have had nutrients taken out/altered, won't affect her enough for it to be an issue! My current scale for how much food affects her depends on how close that food is to it's natural state- so an apple freshly picked from the tree will fuck her up, apple pie or applesauce won't affect her as much. So thank goodness Kat lives in America, land of the overly processed foods!
Rest of the answer below the cut, since this is getting long and I'll be talking about Kat's actual eating habits (TW: cannibalism)
Which. To be fair overly processed food fucking sucks and if I had to rely on McDonald's burgers to live I would also resort to cannibalism
The issue with Kat is that she's stuck between eating highly-processed garbage food, which sucks but at least it won't mess up her composition, and eating human flesh, which tastes delicious but also requires illegalities to acquire. Remember kids: cannibalism isn't illegal, it's how you procure the meat that is.
I really do think that, despite how much she hates it, Kat will always prefer the flesh, organs, bones, and/or other vitals of whatever species she's disguised as over any "normal" food she can eat. Because bodies are filled with a bunch of tasty nutrients that her body needs in order to keep a consistent form, and processed foods don't have those! Where else is she gonna find food that tastes good?
I think it's best described as that feeling you have when you're craving awful food. Like it's late at night and a shitty hotdog or fast food burger sounds fantastic and you buy one and it is the best thing you've ever eaten. That's how Kat feels about cannibalism. Under normal circumstances (her body at a standard composition with enough nutrients to maintain that form), she's disgusted with the idea of eating human meat and will go out of her way to avoid it. But when she's hungry (low on nutrients and struggling to keep a consistent form), human flesh is absolutely fucking delicious.
I mean, she probably thinks human meat is delicious either way. It's just a matter of moralities, and whether or not she needs it to survive in the moment.
But, to finally answer your question: Kat is a very big fan of sushi! Raw fish fucks her up extremely bad, but she doesn't care. As long as she eats it in moderation and not very often, she can recover quick enough. She also has a very big sweet tooth, especially for cake-like substances like muffins (<-Which can often come ultra-processed, so she can eat them with minimal problems), brownies, and cakes.

I luckily saw your edit tags before I asked you anything but I also like the idea of your original misread tags so I’m going to ask you Both.
FIRST OFF. What does Sky think of Jinx? I only feel confident asking about Jinx because you are the 1. jinx lore knower (I have dubbed you that officially) AND because I want to know what sky thinks of her with more words.
Also for the funnies, picking from your OC’s list thingy from forever ago.
What does Marci (Project Scepsis OS) think of Marci (beyond the graves)? Idk if they have ever met or you’ve ever thought about this, but for the laughs I ask this. What do they / would they think of each other?
What does Sky think of Jinx?
Every time I think of Sky and Jinx interacting I am reminded of the fact that there is a timeline out there where Jinx ended up with Sky instead of King. Thank goodness we don't live in that timeline
Speaking first in WTSS canon, I think Sky would dislike Jinx, but not that much. It's a mild dislike. They just... don't get along, that's all. Jinx didn't pass the vibe check. Whereas, in RTTH canon, Sky absolutely fucking hates Jinx. With the undying passion of a thousand suns. Sky thinks she's is a horrible person and refuses to waste any of her time with Jinx. I wonder why.
What does Marci (PSOS) think of Marci (Beyond the Graves)?
To avoid confusion, I will be referring to PSOS's Marci as "RC1" and BTG's Marci as "Marc".
Wow holy shit a question about Beyond the Graves. I never expected to talk about that story on Tumb.
I'm gonna be honest, the Marcis are very similar in character. There is no possible timeline in which they can meet (Marc is dead, which makes it a bit difficult to interact with people), but if they could meet, I think they'd be friends. Ish. Both are socially awkward beings put in rather unpleasant circumstances, so I think they'd bond over niche special interests and Cool Autism Facts™. They're both a bit neurodivergent and will infodump to each other a lot.
They can also bond over trauma! Both of them have a "possession"/villain arc of sorts (Marc gets mind-controlled by the main antagonist and RC1 accidentally creates a hivemind), being The Puppeteer and Scarsi (pronounced: Sar-see) respectfully. While Marc and RC1 would bond over having traumatic villain arcs, the people they are during that villain arc would despise each other. Puppeteer is a dramatic asshole who wants to burn the world down while being the center of attention the whole time, while Scarsi is quiet, impulsive, and basically a rabid animal. The only thing Scarsi hates more than being perceived is being the antagonist, while Puppeteer is having the time of their life being a manipulative jerk. They would hate each other.
Despite all those reasons to get along, I hesitate to say they would be good friends, because at the end of the day, RC1 is an optimist. Sure, it's been through hell, but it's survived and has made friends and found reasons to keep persisting. Marc, on the other hand, becomes more and more of a nihilist as the story goes on until they eventually give in and join Majesty, the main antagonist, so that they can finally have some sense of purpose in their life. Although they may be similar in personality, it's their character arcs that drive the two Marcis apart, and for that reason they're more of good acquaintances than friends.

Pretend I asked anonymously, it would be funny.
🚨(siren) for Ets (:
🧣(scarf) Professor sonemeir (I need to know more about them)
🍒(cherries) for King Moonjumper (I beg of you)
Who the fuck are you (joking)
🚨(Siren): What’s your character’s relationship with the law? Have they ever been arrested? What for? What are their opinions on law enforcement?
This is the funniest fucking thing you could have picked for Etc holy shit
So I presume you mean AHIT Entropy, which in that case he makes the laws and therefore is above them. The closest thing he has to a law he has to abide by is the agreement with King Moonjumper for the two to stay out of each other's business, which Etc will very gladly follow because they cannot stand interacting.
But I do want to talk about OC Entropy too because it's much funnier. As a god masquerading as a human, ET has to follow a good amount of the laws. He can't run his coffee shop if he's in jail, after all. But as a shapeshifter, he really can do fuckall with the laws. Using various other forms, ET has done everything from minor misdemeanors to full felonies multiple times across multiple timelines. Nowadays, most of the crimes he commits are for shits and giggles and he draws the line at offenses that would harm another person (murder, assault, so on), but as long as no one else is intentionally harmed then he has done it!
Though he doesn't do it much anymore, ET's also violated the Geneva Convention multiple times, via inhumane treatment and torture, biological experimentation, and serious injury under unlawful and unjust means to innocents. After all, who can punish him?
🧣(Scarf): What comforts your oc? Is it an item? An action? A person? Whatever it is, how any why does it comfort them?
Sonemeir,,,,,,
Vince definitely struggles with finding things to comfort him. Unfortunately, time and time again, the things he love tend to have something go wrong and then he associates the bad memories with it. It's like being introduced to a song by someone you were close to who broke your heart and now you can't enjoy the song anymore because all you think of is that.
Despite that, one of Sonemeir's big things is finding joy in the simple. Intentionally ironic for a man who's been involved in groundbreaking technological advances his whole career. I have few scenes of this story planned out in my head, but one in particular is between Paisley and Sonemeir and it's one of their first bonding moments. He's repairing them after some sort of intense situation, and the two are mostly quiet, interrupting the silence now and then with small comments and apologies. I think this moment is the first time in a while where Vince doesn't feel like a piece of shit. He has a pretty strong hatred of anything related to the Creator Models (which Paisley is a prototype of) and has a lot of bad memories attached to working on them, but for once, he doesn't mind this. And he's not sure why this is different, but something about working on one of his projects, completely disconnected from his career, knowing that once he's done he won't have his work taken away and repurposed... it's nice. It brings him a sense of comfort he hasn't felt in ages.
Any sort of tinkering from then onwards is a comfort to Vince. It's something he's familiar with, and it feels good to work on whatever. He builds random-ass shit with no purpose and it's great because it doesn't have to have a purpose. It's just for the heck of it. It's just because he likes it.
I also think he has some leftover trinkets from before Evan died that he hasn't gotten rid of. A lot of things related to Evan's death are touchy for him, and he's tried his best to erase Evan out of his life as a coping mechanism, but Vince has held on to a few things. They still bring him a feeling of comfort, especially after he gets kidnapped loses his job.
Actually, I think the real answer to this question is him losing his job. That's his greatest comfort. Because it's only then when he remembers that the world isn't that bad and that he can do things for himself.
🍒(Cherries): Does your character have a best friend? How long have they known each other? What do they like most about each other? How did they meet?
Noot you have no idea how happy I was to get asked about King Moonjumper on an OC Ask Game. An OC ASK GAME. Omg. You have made my whole-ass night with this.
I barely talk about them within the context of Horalo AU, but I do think Moonjumper and Tranquility are good friends. At least, they get along much better than Moonjumper and Entropy do. TQ is absolutely fascinated by King (in a sopping wet pathetic meow meow sort of way) and King is just glad to have someone in the Horizon he can have a genuine friendship with. They very rarely spend time together, but when they do, they do get along.
I hesitate to say Timmy as well because he and Moonjumper don't have the best relationship, but they are certainly something. Despite it only being a 9-year age gap (which is so fucking funny to think about), Moonjumper sees Timmy as a baby and would determinedly avoid using the word "friend" because he'd think they have too big of an age gap. I think the two really do get along best as a boss/right-hand man relationship (dare I say mentor/student, which is their relationship in Coffee Shop), but Timmy wouldn't hesitate to call King his friend. And King is certainly grateful for the company.
THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING TO SCROLL PAST THE REST OF THIS POST. THERE ARE MASSIVE WTSS/HORALO AU SPOILERS FOR THE REST OF THIS RESPONSE.
.
.
.
Okay now for the actual answers
First and foremost, cheesy as fuck answer, but I really do believe King Moonjumper would consider his best friends to be his siblings. They mean the world to him and he loves them so so much that he's willing to risk everything in order to get back to them. Too bad they are fucking dead.
As for pre-Horizon, once again, Juno considers his siblings to be his closest friends. I don't think he was very close to anyone else, since time magic was fairly distrusted and he wanted to make sure himself and his siblings stayed safe, but he definitely had friends. I mean, he was a guy in his twenties once and he certainly acted that way. He knew folks, he knew folks (I have a running bit between myself and myself only of "King Moonjumper's Ex-girlfriend", which I've been sneaking into a lot of non-WTSS Horalo content, including in Rp6), and he had friends besides his siblings. Unfortunately that is not a part of him we ever get to see, so I don't have much of it developed.
I'd like to imagine that he was, at some point, friends with Cirsten Novaue, the woman who would eventually become Audun Horalo's wife. I don't know if he met her before or during her dating Audun, but I know they were fairly close. I really like the idea of Audun meeting her through Juno, but who knows. I just think it's funny that Juno's such good friends with the original concept for Sky's character lmao

hi…….. question 16 for professor sonemeir please :)
Ooooh interesting one
16. What is your OC's pain tolerance like?
Sonemeir has a fairly high pain tolerance. He's worked with machines and advanced technology his whole life, so he's used to the various shocks, stabs, and getting his hands crushed in between parts that comes with being an engineer. He's also had multiple Creator models attack him while developing that AI, so he can tolerate quite a lot. Despite that, Sonemeir is scared shitless of the idea of having to intentionally hurt himself for any reason, and the sight of blood makes him nauseous.

25 for any character I wanna read your ramblings
Tumblr media
25. What is your favourite thing about your OC?
Wow. Dill asking a non-angsty question from an angsty OC ask? That's crazy man
Below are 29 OCs that I'm currently using enough to have favourite bits about them. Enjoy
A Hat in Time OCs
Horalo AU Skyscreamer: Baby girl. Favourite thing about her would probably be the fine line I have to walk between being a kind, caring woman and a motherly figure while writing her. Sky is supposed to be the cool older sister and it's a lot of fun to portray that in writing! The Flower Man: His dialogue. I fucking LOVE how this man speaks and it is so much fun to write. Also taking his lore out of context. He canonically has the most rizz out of anyone in the Horizon and it is my favourite fact about him. King Moonjumper: His personality specifically in the currently unreleased Act7. He likes playing himself up, seeming like a big threat, and then the moment something doesn't go his way he has a meltdown. He's so silley.
Wanderer AU Ester: I have a scene from the ending of Wanderer doodled out where Ester and MJ are standing in the frozen remains of Subcon and they are holding hands. It's just something about her being a scared, sassy, almost insignificant child, especially when put up next to characters like Graves or Snatcher who are much more lore-relevant, and yet she stays MJ's closest companion and most trusted friend throughout the entire story. Gravedigger: Absolutely anything that can draw more parallels between her and Gleb, the character she takes the role of. Mourner/Cathrine: Saying my favourite part of her character is that she gets my favourite song from Anastasia feels like cheating, but it's definitely up there. Probably her loyalty. She is, above all, loyal to her homeland, and refuses to let that part of her go after the freeze. She's one of the few characters not really running away from her past, but instead slowly coming to terms with it. Count Adrianne: He's a perfect example of a complex character who seems very simple on the outside and I love him for it. Either that or his relationship with Snatcher. They bicker like siblings because they were both older siblings before dying and are projecting on to each other and it's very silly.
Misc. Anya: Ouuugh. That's a hard one. Favourite bit about them is probably their coping mechanisms. They are so good at taking things at face value, accepting them, and then watching everything else devolve into chaos around them like a sitcom without doing anything to help. They speedrun the 5 stages of grief just so they can make fun of everyone else and completely fuck themself over in the process because they don't actually learn how to cope Kaizo: He's a whore what else can I say
Hollow Knight OCs (The Religious Trauma Squad)
Gospel: Her lore! She's so fucked up <3 Edge: One of the big things about RTS is that the main three characters go through very similar character arcs, but they're all in different stages of it. We first meet Edge at the end of his character arc, where he's already decided that most gods are assholes and he doesn't owe his devotion to anyone. Then, during the rest of the story, he gets to watch two other people experience similar events, and it forces him to help them because he doesn't want the to go through the same things he did. It's just a fun dynamic of him already knowing who he is and his heritage and being comfortable with that, and now helping others learn the same thing. Marion: His absolute and total devotion to the troupe during his time in it, and his relationship with Gospel after he gets kicked out.
Ivy
Jenny: She (in a way) dismantles the idea of a "Chosen One" hero and I think that's pretty neat. Morgan: She's just silly. Couldn't tell you why, I just really like her. Myo: They are a BITCH. Lying little bastard and I love them for it. They would murder someone, turn around, and go "I'm just a little guy it's my birthday you wouldn't punish a little guy on his birthday would you" and it would work. And, as the actual "Chosen One" of the story, it's fun to see them go over the edge trying to be the special main character.
Project Scepsis OS
Paisley: They don't let their past traumas and experiences define who they are and I think that's really neat! Marci: It's practically a self-insert and those characters will always be special to me. Also, it's just a blob. What's not to love? The actual answer is its story arc where it nearly kills Sonemeir on accident and traumatizes them both for life Kat: Her species as a concept. The idea of a shapeshifter who has to eat something to shift into it is fascinating to me. Prof. Sonemeir: He is so fucked up in so many ways. Dude has been through the horrors(TM). His entire character deals with the idea of legacies and how what you create will last longer than you will, which is really funny because he hates everything he's created and it will haunt him for the rest of his life. And also that aforementioned arc with Marci Creator: His character design. He is very fun to draw :)
ET's Coffee Shop
Phoebe: She is the best example of "some normal dude who got wrapped up in everyone else's shenanigans" and I think that's very funny. Also the fact that she is destined to kill her entire family. There is no escaping fate around here Altalune: Oh my GODDDD I am INSANE about this man. Definitive favourite thing is his character design, I fucking love his character design it is so good and so much fun to draw, but I have to shout out his relationship with ET because it's my favourite part of the entire story as a whole. Stopwatch: Everyone else in this story, including the two main antagonists, uses more traditional or magic-based weapons: Phoebe has daggers, Altalune and Tristen use swords and magic, ET has shapeshifting powers, stuff like that. Stopwatch, on the other hand, has a gun. Cirsten: She is too good for this world. So incredibly loving and caring of everyone at all times. Her and Audun are the best romantic relationship I've ever written and they make me so happy. Tristen Kannaroe: The way his name sounds. It just rolls off the tongue so nicely and it fits his character so well. And his character design. He looks exactly how he acts and I love it. Also, his couple hundred horrific "deaths" and the fact that he is immortal because Alta won't let him die. ET: I feel like I could say "character design" for every single Coffee Shop character and it would work. They're all so good. Anyways, ET's relationship with Alta and ET's death are my favourite bits. And also that he's kind of an allegory for neurodivergence. TQ: Character de- I step on a banana peel and comically fall down the nearest set of stairs. Seriously though. I have a bit running where all of the deity/god-like characters are drawn in a different style, and TQ's is lineless. They look so good in that style and I love drawing them. Personality-wise, I love how incredibly objective they are. They're so blunt and honest at all times, especially with Alta. It's really funny to see Alta try to justify his actions to TQ and them going "Okay but you did just level and entire city" Ayabe: Their backstory and their relationship with Stopwatch! Their magic is also cool as fuck. Crumpet: Yeah it's character design again

Hi. Question 13 for Kat please. I need to know about her pancake flipping skills
13. Is your OC left handed, right handed, or ambidextrous? Also, can they flip a pancake without dropping it?
Kat is ambidextrous! However, if Kat were to shapeshift into someone who were right handed, she would still be able to write with her left hand, but would feel really uncomfortable doing so. It's that gut feeling where you know something is wrong despite nothing being visibly wrong, and she can still write perfectly with both hands regardless. Her current form is right-handed.
I'd say Kat probably has the best pancake-flipping skills of the group. She has great hand-eye coordination and good reflexes, so she would be good at that. Kat would like pancakes very much methinks

hi I dunno if you’re taking requests for the drabbles but,,, “Be you. No one else can.” with anything you want,,,,
Um actually I'm not taking requests. Yeah. Sorry.
Word Count: 1362 feat. Paisley Harris, Kat, Marci, and Vincent Sonemeir (Project Scepsis OS)
Prompt #50-
"Be you. No one else can."
Kat stared at him. "What?"
"Well, there's only one alien girl living on planet Earth who looks and talks like you." Vincent looked over his shoulder, waving the screwdriver in the air. "That's who you are. No one else can be that."
"This isn't how I look. Or how I sound. I stole from others.”
"And those people aren't going to come after you wanting those appendages back, now are they?"
Paisley, who was sitting on the ground in front of Vincent, turned around and frowned at him. "What? I'm correct. Now turn back around before you disconnect something."
Vincent turned back to his work. During their last fight, the Creator unit that was hunting the group had electrocuted Paisley in the right shoulder, shutting down the entire right side of their upper body and frying their vocal implants. After narrowly escaping, Marci had "commandeered" an empty apartment in a nearby town for the four of them to recover in. Vincent had managed to get Paisley online and partially fix their shoulder joint after a few days of work, but was struggling to fully repair the machine without any extra parts. Now, they were sitting in front of Vincent, the plates for the right side of their back removed so he could work on their circuitry.
"That doesn't matter. I can't 'be me' because I don't have a ‘myself’. I don't have a way I'm supposed to look or sound the way you or Paisley do. I'm just... whatever I take from other people."
"I'm not talking about how you look." Vincent switched to sitting on his knees. "Harris, bend over more, I need to reach your spine."
Paisley did as they were told. Vincent put down the screwdriver and dug his hands into their back, locating their vocal box. "Oh, shit."
The room went silent as Vincent continued his work. He moved from the vocal box to Paisley's arm, assessing what to do next.
"Is that it?" Kat snapped.
"Huh?"
"You don't mean how I look? Is that all? Do I have to figure out the rest on my own?"
Vincent turned to look at her, keeping one hand inside Paisley's arm and an uninterested look on his face. "Your personality, Kat. I mean your personality."
Kat crossed her arms.
"That's what makes people different. Everyone else has had their own experiences and choices, and it's how they respond to those experiences that make a personality. Sure, your physical appearance might be the same as someone else's, but guess what? So is Paisley's."
Paisley started to turn around and Vincent promptly grabbed their shoulder with his other hand, forcing them back. "My hand is in your right shoulder joint, Harris. Don't move it."
He leaned over Paisley's shoulder and started fiddling with the inner workings. "Paisley is one of many mass-produced machines, all made with the same intent, for the same purpose, and with the exact same technology. And yet, they function entirely different than any other Creator unit would, because they've been given the chance to have feelings. And opinions. Regardless of how awful they are."
Paisley twitched their shoulder and Vincent yanked his hands out. They tilted their head and shook, as if laughing.
"You asshole. Don't do that. You can cut my fingers off if you move too much.”
They gave him a pouty face and Vincent glared at them. “Do you want me to fix you or not? Because I will gladly leave you like this.”
Paisley sighed silently and relaxed their arm, allowing Vincent to continue. “Paisley, despite having some misconceived assumptions about how the world works and some poor opinions because of that, has developed a strong personality. They’re irrational, impulsive, and the biggest optimist I’ve ever met. Which isn’t a bad thing,” he said through gritted teeth, as Paisley moved their left arm as a quiet threat. “It makes them their own person. And I’m sure if they could speak right now, they’d list off a whole bunch of insulting adjectives that make up my personality, such as arrogant, sadistic, and selfish.”
Paisley gave the other two a thumbs up.
“So… I have to make my own personality,” Kat stated, unsure of her words.
Vincent was still for a moment, then sighed. “No. You already have a personality. Everyone has a personality from the moment they are able to think.”
“But everything that makes up me I took from other people. Including how I act. I just copied other people until I figured out how to fit in.”
Vincent didn’t respond. He had moved back over to the top of Paisley’s spine, and was working on their vocal box.
“...I just don’t get it. How do I be myself while being made of everything but me? Who even am I?”
Still no response. Vincent reached for the screwdriver again, stopped, and turned to look at Kat. “That was a rhetorical question, right? Please tell me that was a rhetorical question.”
When Kat didn’t speak, Vincent scoffed and stood up. “Kat, I’m an engineer, not a philosopher. But, if you really want to know, I think you're a cannibalistic shapeshifter alien whose entire species is considered a high-level threat on this planet. You’re a wanted criminal on most of the planets we’ve talked to, and if you weren’t already, you’re certainly a criminal here on Earth for kidnapping a high security programmer from one of the most safely guarded establishments in this solar system!” He paused and took a breath. Paisley had turned around and was sitting criss-cross, watching Vincent lose his cool with a shit-eating grin. “You’re also incredibly insecure, and you worry enough to cover the three of us. You’re uncomfortably introspective and you’ve looked like you’re on the verge of a mental breakdown since I met you. Is that good enough or should I continue?”
Kat opened her mouth and then closed it, a dejected look in her eyes. Vincent stood with his arms crossed.
“So… that's who I am?”
Vincent’s arms dropped to his sides. “Fucking… no?? Well, yeah, that’s everything I know about you, and it’s all factual, but that doesn’t have to be.. you. It doesn't have to be all of you. You can be more. Or, if you’re fine with that, then yeah! That's you!” He shrugged, clearly fed up. “But you have to figure that out yourself.”
“But… what if I can’t? Or what if people don’t like it? At least with whatever I am now, people like me, but if I change that, what-”
“Paisley Harris,” Vincent said firmly. “Do you consider me to be a good person?”
Paisley, incredibly giddy, pointed their thumb down.
“Do I, in your opinion, have any sort of redeeming qualities?”
Paisley gave that a vigorous shake of the head and a thumbs down.
“And, from what you remember of your time in the Preservation, did any of my coworkers like me? The investors don't count."
They paused, thinking, then shrugged and pointed their thumb down.
"Off the top of my head, the only person I worked with there who would actually like me would be Daniel Ederudge, who I've known since college. Now, Harris, do I give off the impression that I dislike any of those facts?"
Paisley gave a slightly-less-eager thumbs down.
"Thank you Harris. Now, my point is, who gives a damn what other people think about you? As long as who you are makes you happy, it doesn't matter. You don't even have to be someone big. You don't have to make any sort of impact on anyone else. You don't have to be something special. Just... be what makes you happy. Be... yeah. Be you."
Behind them, Marci, who had been asleep on a table, opened one of its eyes. "That's easy for you to say, doc."
Vincent's jaw snapped shut. He stood very still for a moment, then bent over and picked up his screwdriver. Paisley quickly turned around as Vincent sat back down, resuming his work on their arm.
"So... I just have to figure out who I like being?" Kat asked.
Vincent did not respond.

Hehe>:3 1, 2, 6, and 8. (Do whatever character you’d like:3)
Oh boy! Any character I want! I'm going to do all of them.
There are 35 different characters listed below. I'm not kidding when I say the response is long.
What memory would your OC rather just forget?
The following OCs are from a project I've dubbed Project Scepsis OS, a futuristic dystopian featuring a failed science experiment, an amorphous blob, a shapeshifter who eats organs like jelly beans, and a depressed 40-year-old man.
Paisley, despite being trapped in a laboratory for most of their life, isn't that bothered by it. If anything, they'd just prefer to go through and get rid of a whole bunch of memories, to clear up space. It's like clearing photos from your storage. Also, they're definitely the type of person to stay up at night thinking about that one embarrassing moment from years ago, so they'd trash all of those.
Marci, on the other hand, desperately wants to forget most of its time in the lab. Especially before it met Paisley. All of that was hell for it and it wants to forget that.
Kat is a very "Sparkle off, it's Thursday, forget who you are" type of person. She doesn't want to remember a single thing and be consumed by the personality of whomever she eats. Life has not been kind to her after the war :(
Vincent would most likely want to forget his son's death. It would be so much easier to bury himself in his work if he didn't have the weight of his son's death looming over him, even if that is what caused him to become a workaholic in the first place. Either that or erase all memory and involvement in the Scepsis model, though unfortunately his name has gone down in history with that one and he will never escape it.
What's something about your OC that people wouldn't expect just from looking at them?
Tumblr media
^This is Kat! She is a wanted war criminal across multiple planets for murder, cannibalism, and impersonation.
How easily could your OC be convinced to do something that goes against their moral compass?
Dill do you have any idea who you're talking to. I am the MASTER of the moral compass and how characters feel about it. I could write a full essay on a singular character's morals.
Moral compasses exist on a pentagram for me, with each angle being an extreme and every character existing on an extreme or somewhere in the middle. Congrats, you get all five extremes.
On the first point of the pentagon, the unbreakable and completely fucked compass. Myo, The Queen, and Flower, who may be so wrong in their actions but their compass has long been broken. The philosophy here is You cannot betray your moral compass if you don't have a compass to begin with. They're either too insane to have morals or whatever the fuck Queen is.
Second, our stubborn characters! Probably the biggest category of the extremes. Edge, Sky, Penelope, and Cosmo. While having a variety of personalities and motives, they all have very strict moral compasses. Not really strict in an uptight way, but they know where their loyalties lie and are so comfortable with that spot that it's gonna be ridiculously hard to break that. It doesn't matter if it's good or bad. It's just comfortable. However, with enough force, it can be broken- but that does require a lot of force.
On the next joint, characters like Altalune, Marion, or Anne, who's compasses are thrown to the wind every other Tuesday. High and mighty as they may think they are, both are giant hypocrites and will betray their moral compass the moment it becomes an inconvenience to their motives. There's also characters like Echo or Marc, who crumple like paper once put under the slightest pressure. They wouldn't betray their morals by themselves, but they fold like laundry when another person gives them orders.
Second to last are the traumatized folk. Gospel is probably the only real extreme of this group, but Kaizo is a very close second. This is for characters who have a strict moral compass at first, but after a certain event(s), their compass shatters and they have to go buy a new one. More often than not, that first set of morals isn't as healthy for them, and the new set helps them improve as people, but that doesn't mean it isn't earth-shatteringly traumatic and destroys everything they ever had faith in in the process.
Finally, the sporadic. Entropy! Tranquility by extent and pretty much all of my Higher Being/God/Godlike/God complex characters count too, but Entropy is the definitive extreme. The moral compass here functions like Captain Jack Sparrow's, simply pointing whatever way the character wants it to. It is fueled impulse, desire, and the Godlike arrogance and detachment from mortal life. There are no moralities, only fun and chaos.
Would your OC ostensibly be able to get away with murder?
Let's just go down the list, shall we? OCs are categorized by source material!
Beyond the Graves (OC) Marci/Marc: Normally, no, possessed than yes. And does canonically. Echo: Same as above! AJ: More likely to commit murder than the other two, but doesn't. Cosmo: Probably did? Doesn't seem like it. Queen: Definitely. Easily. Canonically. For funsies
Ivy (OC) Jenny: Nope! She would only kill someone if she had to, and she would not get away with it! Morgan: Same as above, only she's slightly more willing to commit murder Myo: Without hesitation
Project Scepsis OS (OC) Paisley: Although they do commit it, they wouldn't get away with it very well. Marci: If it would happen, it would be accidentally. It would latch on to a living organism and accidentally tear their mortal form apart. It would never do it intentionally. Kat: She eats people's organs for fun Vincent: Definitely not. Even if he is responsible for the war machine that killed hundreds if not thousands. Creator: Said war machine mentioned above
Where Time Stands Still//Stopwatch (OC) Penelope: Absolutely not. Baby girl Altalune: Definitely. And if he doesn't get away with it, then he'll kill whoever witnessed it. Tristen Kannaroe: Little bitch man. Unfortunately he has not committed murder but he would not get away with it, he would get caught, and he would get what he fucking deserves. Entropy: Do you know who we're even talking about. This is the fucking God of Chaos Tranquility: Ironically, for being the God of Death, they have never taken a life. However they would very easily get away with it if they needed to. Eternity/Stopwatch: They wouldn't do it, but they'd get away with it if they did. I think gods in general have a good track record of getting away with murder
The Religious Trauma Squad (Hollow Knight) Gospel: She wouldn't commit murder, but if she did she wouldn't leave a single trace. Eviscerated by lightning bitch Edge: Oh yeah. Absolutely. Gospel would know in a heartbeat. Marion: He put his days of murder behind him after he left the troupe! He's reformed now! (<-Nearly fought Edge to the death if Gospel hadn't stopped him)
The Horalo AU/Where Time Stands Still (A Hat In Time) Skyscreamer: Commits murder canonically and does NOT get away with it. Thanks Entropy Flower Man: Have you read the book Entropy: They are still the Deity of Chaos Kannaroe: Doesn't and don't get away with it
The Wanderer AU (A Hat In Time) Ester: Yes! The Gravedigger: Uh... does it count as murder if they're ghosts? Cathrine: Nope! Wouldn't hurt a fly <3 Adrianne: Would and get his ass caught. Idiot Tranquility: Still a pacifist!
My other AHIT OCs Anya: Nope! They'd whack you with a large branch, but that's about it. Kaizo: He would eat your insides like a muffin for breakfast.
That's as many as I can remember. Feel free to ask about any of these I guess.
