Soooo I had a dream about this yarn 😅 in my dream, I made a gorgeous colourwork sweater, black with this at the yoke... BUT I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE
Anyone irl have patterns they think would go nice with this yarn?

Forgiveness
As we know, Aziraphale prides himself on the ability to forgive.
So what does that mean? Why bring it up?
We have probably already seen enough posts about his final forgiveness on the final scene at the end of season 2.
.... after this intense and desperate confession of Crowley's love for Aziraphale, why would he fall to saying that? Why would he be so stupid to ruin everything with a phrase that Crowley is so sensitive to ....
He was sensitive to how he was himself. He asked questions and was punished for it. He was sent to the pits ....
He did, and will never admit it to anyone but God herself, that he wanted forgiveness but not from anyone but her. (Now note, that didn't mean he wanted to return to heaven. Heaven and God to him were two separate things.) He felt like he was unforgivable because the one that mattered had abandoned him.
......
So when sweet Aziraphale kept saying it...
I bet his feeling "unforgivable" weighed heavy on him. Something you'd think Aziraphale would know about him.
But.... that scene was a series of mistakes for them. Crowley's first mistake was reacting with a kiss. A very intimate action and quite possibly Aziraphale's first one. Their first kiss, period.
So how did Aziraphale act? With the bases of his being, the soul thing he prided on about being good at.
And he ruined the phrase by using it incorrectly.
He did realise it after a long period of confusion and fantastic micro expression changes done by Michael Sheen. So the elevator ride was even more heartbreaking cause he knew that he now had to make it up to Crowley by doing the one thing he pushed for that Crowley didn't like in the beginning.
Going back up to heaven to make changes.
Yes, he is a dumb-dumb. But he truly does love Crowley....
I can't even express how hard of a final scene this was. I could go on and on with a screen full of text about every detail of that interaction, starting with the Meta-jerk's entrance with the coffee. To Aziraphale and Crowley going their separate ways.
But I won't.
Instead, during my busy start to August of 2023, I'm going to work on a visual story of expressions, emotions, connections, and possible thoughts they might be going through when it involves eachother through out their adventure of discovery on Earth.
I'm not sure what to call it yet or if I'm even going to get any satisfaction from it. Especially since I've experienced this situation before and had an unsatisfying result.
But I'm going to try anyways.
.... yes, it's 1:05am here, and I got maybe 3 hours of sleep, maybe less. I don't know what time I fell asleep but I'm guessing 9pm and I woke at midnight .... hopefully, I can get this fixed later today with my doctors appointment.
I'm going to go to planning this project, and I'll be posting very rough sketches for the next couple of weeks. As well as my digital painting of the kiss image I drew. Thanks for reading.

I've seen so many moth customs with Cinna as a base and it inspired me to do my own! I already have a second Cinna, so I challenged myself to use only what I have on hand to make it.
I found some pretty fabric choices in my stash, from a project that just never happened, and I have just enough EVA foam to use for the inside of the wings and the antennae! The wings will be backpack style. I have sandpaper, acrylic paint, and gloss varnish for the eyes, too.
I may need to get masking tape, and I have a squeaker I want to use but it is really really loud so I might get a smaller, quieter one. But other than that, this will be a no-buy project!
And I might use the ears and tail I remove from spare Cinna to make my original Cinna a new and improved tail down the line (and a better butt patch where I modded his tail the first time).
So excited to get started! The spotted fabric is so soft and fluffy but I am, admittedly, not looking forward to working with it 😶 At least it'll be pretty and snuggly when I am finished. It's more of a mauve than a purple, in person.

I'm gearing up to make some socks with this lovely self-striping/gradient yarn I bought last fall. (Urth Uneek Sock #65)
I want to do an afterthought heel because that looks good with stripes, but because this is also gradient yarn, I don't want to work the heel at the end because the yarn would be in a different part of the orange-red gradient. Then I found what Roxanne Ricardson calls an "insta-thought heel": as soon as you're ready to place the heel you provisionally cast on half the stitches, work the heel immediately, then remove the provisional cast-on and work the rest of the sock. I also would really prefer the heel is placed in the middle of the one of the blue stripes, and if I knit toe-up then I might find the length of my foot calls for a different placement, so it's probably better to work cuff-down.
Alright, cuff-down to let me place the heel at the right point in the stripe, insta-thought heel to keep the gradient going through the heel. Now the question is where in the ball to start.
I think I want the direction of the gradient the same as the example on the box, but I don't want the part where it turns back to beige on the calf, I want it to start with the red. I'll aim to be left with about three stripes worth of yarn at the end of the toe for a safety margin. Depending on where I place the heel, I’ll use a little more or less of the beige at the end without a problem.
If I aim to start at the beginning of the red section and end three stripes before the end of the ball, that’s the blue lines. If I then shift that to the end, then the first green line represents how high the cuff will be, which I think I like.
This just a ballpark. I’ll do some swatching at the actual number of stitches before I make a final decision.

so we have this sculpting class this year and basically our only assignment is to create a sculpture of an already established fictional character
PROBLEM IS THERE ARE TOO MANY CHARACTERS I WANNA SCULPT SO.....
this isn't the final decision since my professor still needs to approve the character but it might influence my final choice so propaganda is absolutely welcomed :DD

So I'm planning a Frank'n doll. She's going to have fairyland bunny legs, upper torso and arms on a resinsoul, and a Logan dolls head.
Currently I only have the bunny legs, and have the torso on order(in white) and the head I'm waiting to come up on preorder.
I decided to take my RS Yao apart to compare her torso connection to the bunny legs and get an idea of the mods I'll be doing eventually.
I think I'm going to get away with sculpting a whole separate piece to connect these two joints. It's going to make the torso a little long and therefore her arms a little short but I think I can live with it. Now just to wait to get the torso in, in jan/Feb.

Why I'm starting my 2024 "temperature" blanket early...
I like October.
That could be the most basic of answers, and I definitely could leave it there. But that would not accurately explain the heart behind the year long project I'm about to start. So buckle in, if you like. Or don't; you do you.
I've known for awhile that I wanted to do a variation on a temperature blanket for 2024. The last time I did a temperature blanket was in 2017 - and it was my first! I knew for my next one, I wanted it to be a project to honor a special year. 2024 was planned since I got married in 2019. This is all probably starting to make more sense now.
So yes, I got married in October - for the sake of not putting too much of my information online I won't share the exact day, but it is mid October. And 2024 will be our 5 year anniversary. I debated working the project from January to December for the whole year, but I changed my mind to running it from Anniversary to Anniversary.
There's a couple advantages to that:
For one, I selected Toni Lipsey's linen square stitch pattern (it's also the one she is doing this year), and I worried that in effort to try to stay up to date, I'd end up cramming the largest sections in at the end of the month. Running the months from mid-to-mid, I've inherently made it more loose and forgiving of the deadlines. It's normal to get a bit behind and need to catch up, but it'll hopefully help me to not have looming end of month deadlines constantly.
The pattern
The second advantage is that I'll have a new blanket by the end of 2024! With October as a final goal, I'll have two months to catch up if I need to, make a border if I so desire, and sew the squares together. There's a lot of grace in that timeline, and I'd love to have a special afghan to gift my partner on Christmas or New Years. I mean he'll see it in progress, that's inevitable, but the finished object in its final presentation? That's so special. Right in time for cuddling up by the fire too since we are in the Northern Hemisphere.
Oh, I am also not exactly doing a temperature blanket either. I've set up daily reminders for myself to look at the sky, and I plan to use the alert not to check online for a number. I want to connect with our Earth and create a special moment each day to admire the planet we call home. My color palette is to be based on the weather and color of the sky each day - whatever the overall vibe feels like since of course it can change from hour to hour. From sunny to cloudy to rainy, and in between, the final piece will be a blend of blues and greys. Because I do, in fact, love the colors of the sky.
The yarn
It's a much smaller color palette than the first time I tried one of these, so my hope is that each of the shades will have a decent spread - certainly not equal to each other, but definitely not lost among the others. I'm adoring the greys. 😍
It's Stylecraft Special DK. I looked around out a few other acrylics and some wool and cotton blends, but ultimately it came down to care instructions and spread of colors. I most especially wanted the blanket to be easy care. We have three dogs so washing and drying were preferable in this case. I also really wanted to use a Sock-DK weight yarn so I didn't end up with a blanket the size of a house.
I did however take a gamble, buying this yarn without trying it first. I've only heard good things, which is promising. And I've received my initial shipping notification, so I am super excited for the skeins to arrive!
I've shared my color scheme above. Each square is going to be 32 rows, and at the end I will have 12 squares for that final assembly part of the project.
Project Tag is going to be #SkyBlanket2024 for any updates along the way.
I'm VERY excited for this one.

I've been wanting to knit a sweater with my Holst Supersoft held double. I first thought of doing cables, but I couldn't find a pattern I liked so I'd have to chart it myself, and I didn't like the cable swatch I made.
So I checked what other ravelers had done and found the Field Sweater
But it's got 155 comments of complaining on 1700 projects 😅 some of the complaints are a bit... Far fetched ('why isn't this pattern available in this specific language' - I guess because knitting terms are very specific across languages and a designer can't cover all of them), some are about inclusivity (fair, but my size is covered so I get lucky there), but many are about mistakes or unclear instructions. So, Doubts.

help me plan my next pair of socks!
(don't worry, i'm not abandoning the gay ass socks, just want to cast on something a little more engaging for my train ride tomorrow!)
so i just bought these three incredible sock patterns by Kirsten Hall:
from left to right, these are: Short Row Shuffle, Diamondback, and Ziprelaxagon
all three are designed to play nice with wildly variegated sock yarns, and all three look like SO much fun to knit (i love short rows! i love weird constructions!!!)
as it just so happens, i have these two wild sock yarns on hand:
(left is called Helix Nebula, right is called Dancing Machine)
and i can't decide which pattern to pair with which yarn!!! please help
*disclaimer, i might not stick to the results, i plan to swatch (shocker) and if i don't like how the yarn is playing with the pattern i'll try something else!
please reblog for visibility etc etc thank you!

Remember this gorgeous yarn I spun?
I think it wants to be a shawl, but that might be a tad ambitious for my 316.8m/356.4yds of 8 WPI handspun (especially since the plan is tunisian crochet).
I have scoured ravelry for any patterns that fit these specifications and I'm coming up dry.
I'd love to see your tunisian crochet shawls (especially if they match in WPI/yardage) to better understand what a finished object looks like size wise as I've never made a shawl.
