The decision comes amid ongoing corruption allegations against Arabi, who is currently defending himself in a case brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).   Professor Usman, a distinguished academic with a robust background in Islamic studies, earned his credentials from the University of Madinah and Peshawar University in Pakistan. His experience in Hajj operations is also notable, having served as the Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims Board, where he managed the largest quota of state pilgrims in the country.
