Labaeka Resigns as Special Assistant to Kwara Governor Over Lack of Duties.    Popular Islamic cleric and singer, Ibraheem Abdulhameed, known as Labaeka, has resigned from his position as Special Assistant on Artiste Matters to Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Labaeka, who was appointed to the role on January 6, 2023, expressed frustration over a lack of clear responsibilities, stating he was being paid for doing nothing. In his resignation letter dated September 12, 2023, Labaeka explained that due to the absence of a defined schedule or specific duties, he could not justify receiving a salary. He emphasized that continuing to accept payment without fulfilling any responsibilities was against his beliefs as an Islamic cleric. Labaeka wrote, “Since my appointment is based on public trust, I cannot continue to break that trust by taking a salary for doing nothing. As an Islamic cleric, it is against my beliefs, and I haven’t been at peace with myself.” He requested that his salary be stopped immediately, bringing an end to his tenure after one year and seven months in office. During a meeting with Nigerians living in China on Friday, Tinubu addressed concerns surrounding the petrol price hike, emphasising that his administration’s reforms aim to lay a solid foundation for Nigeria’s future economic prosperity. Tinubu said, “Nigeria is going through reforms, and we are making bold, unprecedented decisions. For instance, you may have heard about the recent changes in fuel prices back home,”  as quoted by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale. He further explained that tough decisions are necessary to move the country forward, stating, “How can we achieve progress if we shy away from making difficult choices?
