Goals.

In pro wrestling (and life), it's important to have goals.

Something to work for.

Something to compare success to.

A measuring stick or blueprint for the end game.

But don't have just a singular lofty goal. You need short and medium-term goals, too. Because if you never reach your main goal or have steps to take along the way, it seems so far and hard.

If your goal is to work for WWE, make that the main goal. The endgame.

Then have a short team goal of being booked at least once every weekend.

Then maybe a medium goal of working in 3 different states by year end.

Accomplish those? Then, make another short and medium goal that will help you reach the main goal.

Set up goals and tear through them.

Having goals is the first step.

Having a plan to achieve those goals is the next.

Networking.

I see it mentioned often and it is VERY important to gaining exposure and experience.

BUT, it needs to be done properly.

Just riding/driving to a new state/area, walking into a new promotion, shaking everyone's hand and saying, "Nice to meet you" is NOT networking.

That's just being a decent human being and a start.

Learn about these people. Learn their names, where they've worked, what they're trying to do in the world of professional wrestling.

Tell them about yourself, where you're from, who you know, and what you're trying to accomplish.

Starting, building, and maintaining personal relationships is what networking is about.

That networking opportunity may not bear fruit the first time but keep at it. Build your Rolodex.

It eventually pays off, but you have to keep at it.
