A Heart of Gold In a Sea of Green: The Synopsis
Heyo! I'm making this post just so I can get ready to start posting on Tumblr as well as Ao3. My main reason is that I can add GIFs/images, music, and color code the dialog on here. With that being said, I'm still working on the imagery for my masterlist post and this is just to act in as the informational "chapter".
"Crow "Wolfhound" O'Neil had been a sergeant in a different troop, known as the WatchDogs, before joining Task Force 141 as an additional sniper, but mostly for his innate understanding of many terrains and the survival skills needed for them. Yet he mostly kept to himself when he joined up as he was still reeling from a recent loss of a loved one; he remained the calm, patient soldier he had always trained to be… despite joining what he could only call as the most chaotic gaggle of men he's ever met. He followed orders, never spoke back or questioned his fellow officers- he was loyal, just as his nickname implied. Though when asked about it he spoke only a simple phrase: "Gentle when stroked, Fierce when provoked" and left it at that."
The fic takes place around six months after Wolfhound transferred into Task Force 141 from the Watchdogs and focuses on him finally putting in the effort to improve his mental state after he lost his fiancé: Malakai Harper. As well as focusing on improving his relationships with his fellow operators: Price, Gaz, Ghost, and Soap— who are already in a polyamorous relationship.
There is a lot of fraternization that goes on, it's not meant to be a serious down to code/law type of fic— I literally only wrote this because I love the characters and wanted to try writing a fanfiction for the first time. I will also put the other warnings in under this indent, as well as a put the proper warnings before the start of every chapter. Also fair warning: Most Chapters are Long Reads (potentially up to 15k+ type deal).
Below is the first thing on the Ao3 fic, just to give an understanding into Crow's background:
Crow Nevan O'Neil was born in Galway, Ireland and lived there for most of his life. He is currently twenty-seven and has been in the British military for seven years. Previously he was a Forest Ranger at the Wicklow Mountains National Park in Ireland and has visited other places to get the experience of working in different terrains.
He was born into a Catholic family and still holds those beliefs to this day, but does not talk about it with others- just as he keeps his gender identity and sexuality under close wraps. The only person that knows he is transgender would be Captain Price and he was given the accommodation of a private shower to make his time a bit easier on base. He only wears long sleeved shirts and pants to keep a more conservative look, though it was mostly to hide his tattoos so that no one asks him any questions about them- he may be social but not when it comes to speaking, he's a listener not the speaker.
Crow got his nickname "Wolfhound" mainly because he is Irish- but also because his old troop thought it was funny that a 165cm (5'5") man who barely weighs 81kg (180lbs) soaking wet can be called something in relation to a huge dog. He has hazel eyes, many many freckles, and curly reddish brown hair- the pinnacle of Irish stereotypes minus the anger and drinking, but by god does he have the accent of a man who sounds like he is fresh from Dublin. His actual callsign is Foxtrot Four.
He was engaged to a Lieutenant form his previous troop named Malakai Harper, but after his death Crow was looking for any chance to have a fresh start with a new team- and luckily he was given the chance to join Task Force 141 as their third sergeant. He knew very little about the other operators, but that meant they knew nothing of him.
Now time for lists and links:

Can you give us lore on your oc's, and why is that one diesel engine unarmed? I need to know that are the shunned or just nameless?
ok here we go just fair warning some character are more developed then others
it long you been warned
zeppelin/ experiment Z-1/6722 was an 0-6-0 tender engine build by the New York century railway in 1918 (the real photo is for reference) under 6722 who time under the nycr was not very interesting wasn’t until he was retired 1958 was when when thing started to happen zeppelin was perched by a man in 1974 who told him he was going to Bring steam back to power he didn’t think much about it at the time but now he wishes he did in 1975 the man started his rebuilt plan on Zeppelin and for 15 years they ripped pock replaced rearranged, added without green water (green water is kind of like horse tranquilizer for engines) to the point where he lost most of his memories. right at the start of the 90s his owner moved to Britain first shipping over the engine to the nearby heartfelt railway as the new mansion didn't have an engine shed but then his owner was arrested for reasons now in days zeppelin is haling trains and trying to get his rock band off the ground
Atticus/ Atticus is a stern 4-6-0 industrial class steam locomotive built in 1919 and work on the heartfelt railway in somewhere, England he was built and operated by Dalton and Sons, ship building yard or how it’s going to be known pier 32 which he is still operated by to this day over the summer he loses he’s arm and eye in the cobblestone rail explosion of 1956 where he was decommission for a good few years before pier 32 repair him and is currently in a relationship with zeppelin
Panther-panther was built in 1943 as W.D. Engine 594, in 1944 he was shipped to Central Europe to pull supplies trains for the allied powers where he stay until the war ended and afterward he was moved around from yard to yard, panther got his name from his unusual yellow eyes and black coat of paint, at the entirety of his service was pledged with ptsd causing him to become closed off from most people and engines. In 1952 he was transferred for the last time to a colliery near Northern Ireland where he met Crystal(later phoenix) who ran a name train known as the black diamond they were close friends until 1960 When Crystal was withdrawn and then in 1961 panther was withdrawn from service and had excepted his faith and be reunited with his friends until the heartfelt railway save him from scrap with him current condition worsened due to thinking he survived and she didn’t (but don’t worry they be reunited eventually 😉 )
phoenix/crystal-so phoenix is aforementioned girl she is an S&DJR class 7F steam engine built in July 1925 and spent most of of her career pulling a named coal train (the black diamond) for a shipping yard and for most of her life was spent with coal (more on him later) until 1955 an panther start at the colliery in 1960 the black Dimond was discontinued and 4 years later she was withdrawal from server she store on a siding right next to the ports station where she sat for 36 years until 1999 where she was attack by a steam hunter who destroy her side rods and her voice block acre making her paralyzes and mute and after that she was rescued by the heartfelt
Artemis-she is a BR stranded 9F steam engine an 92166 a month after her brother Murdock both they careers was spent haling heavy goods trains around Ireland until 1964 where she was sold to a private collector in Auston Texas she was told she was to leave tomorrow she said bye to her brother knowing this would the last time they see each other. she took her last train to Liverpool where she was loaded on to a ship descend for the states witch the ship made it without a hatch and made it to he ranch where she was treated a member of his family as he didn't have a wife or kids (he as secretly gay) along with all the other non faceless engine he brought they were happy Artemis even got to pull some rail excursions and started dating a diesel an Santa Fe EMD FP45 class named hawks (more on him later) but soon the old man got vary sick and so he died and will stated that ever thing was to go to the engine as they were his children but his sister (Artemis's surgent aunt) was able to have the will voided (she use plot convenient) but he had a plan for the engine, he had gotten other heritage lines to take them Artemis was suppose to be sent to a private railroad in Ohio but she couldn't levee hawks in Texas so she decided to just send her engine and buy a ranch with hawks but hawks sold her out to the steam hunter marking her for death unlike phoenix managed to get away mostly unsaved physically beside a bullet that graze her cheek that was shot by hawks but she was destroy mentally having boarded a ship being hulled to pier 32 scrapyard
Hartland point- Hartland point is an LBSC H1 class steam engine built in 1906 (making her the third oldest engine on the railway) she ran express duties until 1926 where she was reassigned to the cobblestone and harden fell branch line at this time there where three non faceless engines those benign Atticus Ham and Excalibur but mostly Excalibur Hartland and Cali hit it off immediately and soon became an unofficial couple and ran mixed traffic trains until 1960 when the harden fell Brach was close and the two lover were sent to pier 32 with at this time had a class 08 diesel locomotives the two were ready to face death together until they found out that the heartfelt railway was to reopen and they had being persevered now in day Hartland point help out with finances and her and Excalibur are now married
Excalibur- Excalibur is an LSWR N15 Class steam engine build in augest of 1918 and spend all of his career as a passengers trains until 1927 when he was transfer to the cobblestone and heartfelt branch line. despite being name after the fame sword of king Arthur he is a scarred cat especially towards faceless engine itis so bad that having to sleep in a shed with one can cause him to have sever panic attacks and the heartfelt roster at the time was made up of 5 lbsc a1 class tank engines (terriers),an lbsc L class tank engine (who was away on rebuild and replace by Excalibur), an lbsc e1 engine 120, an H1 Atlantic name Hartland Point, and ham a nelson 0-4-0 box tank engine who works at the tea plant, Atticus an 2-6-0 industrial class tank engine who work at pier 32. the last of the two are even apart of the railway and Hartland point would take night passenger train to Brighton, so his mental state was S>%t and sleep non nonexistent (me fr :D) so he turn to writing to clam himself down eventually he was move to a smaller two engine shed with Hartland point and this is when they kind of be can an unofficial couple and ran mixed traffic trains until 1960 when the harden fell Brach was close and the two lover were sent to pier 32 with at this time had a class 08 diesel locomotives the two were ready to face death together until they found out that the heartfelt railway was to reopen and they had being persevered now in days Excalibur (when ever he not pulling trains) is a fantasy writer with a diagnosed sleeping disorder and is now marred to Hartland point
ivy-Ivy is a British rail class 07 who was build in 1962 as D2990 and replace engine 32106 an E2 class tank engine (remember this ;) ), she (or at the time he🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️) ran under the name Archibald or archie for short she eventually had it put on a name plated something she come to regret doing (🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️) in the 80s she was purchase by the heartfelt a it second diesel and new maintenance engine. when she first arrived she was not the nicest engine and almost got sent away because of it (like she was repressing feeling 🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️) in 1992 she finally relived that she was in fact a girl (🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️) and started to get her act together. as a maintenance engine she had a lot of free time so she took up gymnastics and acrobatics during this time coal griffin arrived on the heartfelt and she fell for him and he fell for her
griffin coal-(ok right before i started witting this i change his backstory and class and is name is subject to change his name is now griffin) is a LSWR M7 tank engine more prosaically engine 255 he was build in 1897 (making him the second oldest on the line) and was almost immediately reassign to the London necropolis railway as it main locomotive he still did shunting but multibed time a day he pull funeral trains and morbidly he enjoy these trains more then his other and was (and still is) fanatic by death and the hole in bombing process he happily continued until 1930 when he was sold to a colliery in north of England he work here by himself (beside crystal/phoenix) until 1952 when panther arrived immediately he try to make friends with little to no sasses but he evenly got him work with the colliery until 1960 when it closed and he was sold for scrap he ended up bounding between scrapyard until 1993 when he ended at the heartfelt railway and ramet panther and meet and fell for ivy and evenly ask her out (but that is a story for another day)

THOMAS! THOMAS!" soon he started to move but not by his own strength and his was different and then he finally saw his refection he was no longer in BR black he was instead in a lite NWR Blue with red linin and a number 1 where the BR crest used to be and he lost his s*&t for a week it was nonstop children everywhere, torching everything, adults blithering him for things he didn't even do the hell he was in last two day and they put him in a small shed and lock the door all this was cause by that blue bastard he call a brother he life was this for 10 years, 10 long agonizing years until he company decided to replace him "For something the look more like Thomas the tank engine" so Ethan ran, ran as far away as possibly and was caught stealing coal from the heartfelt but instead of sending him back to the pine field they took him in and clean him up and repainted him

THE FOX AND THE HOUND™︎

❝ A BLIND BETRAYAL ❞
Dallas, TX, USA
12 Nov 2022, 0400
— VIXEN CHUCKLED LIGHTLY, THE WARM BLOOD THAT WAS LEAKING FROM HER RIGHT TEMPLE NOT PHASING HER IN THE SLIGHTEST AS SHE SMILED A CROOKED SMILE. The man ahead of her in a full military uniform, complete with a helmet and balaclava, pulled a chair closer to the one she was tied to. His knuckles were littered with blood spatters that weren’t his own.
“Gonna take a little more than a few hits to make me squeal like a pig, ya’ gobshite,” She snickered, spitting a small spray of blood on the concrete floor beside her. Vixen’s platinum hair was stained red in a few places, but her amber eyes were just as alert and amused as ever. The man in front of her, the one that had so kindly been using her as a human punching bag, shifted, spinning the chair under him backwards and straddling it.
Let’s just say… her transfer from the ARW to Task Force 141 hadn’t been the smoothest. Of course, there was a mix up with her transportation, and her entire squad was practically pissed to no end that she was leaving, but the largest, glaring problem was the fact that her transport vehicle had been run off the highway and intercepted by a masked militia she didn’t even recognize. She knew leaving Ireland was a bloody bad idea. She just couldn’t seem to get it through the thick skull of her former commanding officer, who completed her transfer like he just couldn’t wait for her to be out of there, no matter how hard she tried.
“I’ll ask you one more time,” The helmeted man started, rapping his fingers against the backrest of the chair. He had a gravelly voice and a thick southern drawl. She hated stupid American drawls. “We know you’re on your way to join up with Task Force 141. We’ve observed private military contractors moving toward their home base. We just want to know what they’re planning, and then all of this can be over.”
“And put a stop to all the fun? We just got started!” Vixen feigned a pout, smirking mockingly. “Why don’t we do a little tit-for-tat, aye? You tell me what your interest is in Task Force 141, and then, maybe, I’ll let a few details slip.”
He huffed behind his helmet. “That’s not how this works, darlin’. I’m the one asking the questions.”
“Don’t darlin’ me, cowboy,” She ordered, raking her irises across his figure, complete by combat armor and a gun sitting off to the side. There were four other men in identical uniforms stationed around the empty room. Two by the door, two against the wall behind her. One single lightbulb hung right above her head, putting a coincidental spotlight on her. Little did they know, she loved to be in the spotlight.
“Farris, got any intel yet?” A man’s voice echoed from behind the door. It was the first time she’d heard a voice other than her interrogator and her own since she’d drifted into consciousness in that dreaded place. Since she’d woken up, wrists and ankles hog-tied to an old metal chair, completely devoid of every weapon she’d previously been carrying.
“Negative, sir, this one’s a deflective little slut!” He shouted toward the door.
Vixen snorted. “You should write a course on how to woo women. You’re a natural!”
That statement earned her a hard punch to the face. The chair tipped to the side and rocked back into place from the force of the strike. She felt a stinging, tingling pain ripple through her left cheek, and the ever-so-familiar warmth of blood beginning to leak from her nose made its expected debut.
“Get that info and end things, Farris, she has friends in high places,” The voice came from beyond the door. “We’re running out of time.”
Helmet man, or Farris, chuckled. “Don’t worry, sir. If she doesn’t speak up soon, I know how to make her scream.”
Vixen’s eyebrows shot sky high, and she ignored the blood dripping down towards her lips. “Hate to break it to you, buddy, but I’m not a do-it-on-the-first-date kind of gal.”
Another strike came, this one from the right, and harder. The chair would’ve fallen over if Farris hadn’t have grabbed her by the vest and yanked her toward him. “You’re gonna tell us what 141 is doing, you condescending little dick, whether you like it or not.”
“I don’t like it,” She replied blankly. He let go of her collar and stood up, shoving his chair across the room in a fit of anger. She was about to ask him what the chair ever did to him, but that was when he reached for his hip and unholstered a pistol, flicking the safety off with a glare of satisfaction.
“Tell us what the 141 is up to,” He ordered, switching the firearm from hand to hand. “Or die.”
She scowled, the familiar tension of life-or-death lurking in the air. A tension she was unfathomably familiar with. “You won’t shoot me. I’m your only source of information.”
“No?” He questioned. As quickly as lightning, he lifted the firearm and pulled the trigger, a sickening boom emanating through the small room. Vixen let out a shrill shout when she felt an exploding pain in her right leg, and for a moment, she thought her knee might’ve been detached. She glanced down. Her leg was still there, yes, but the thigh of her tan cargo pants was turning red at an alarming rate. “There are plenty of places I can shoot where you’ll still live to give me answers.”
Vixen was breathing heavily, swallowing down every ounce of panic and weakness that threatened to well up in her and forcing him a condescending smile instead. “I’ll still live, sure. Give you answers? Unlikely.” She muttered, trying her best to decipher without looking if she’d been hit in an artery. She noticed the faint lightheadedness that was trying to creep in, ignoring it with every cell in her body.
Farris stepped forward, aiming the gun at her torso. “What is the 141 recruiting for?”
A soft, distant shuffling noise caught her attention. She glanced up at the door. In the reflection of the concrete beneath it, she saw the shadows of two pairs of feet. They shuffled around for a moment, and a second after, there was a soft thud.
She glanced up at the helmeted man with a small smile, glancing at the firearm like it was a water gun he was threatening her with. “What’re they recruiting for? Isn’t it obvious? Fun.”
At that very moment, the wooden door was slung open from the outside. Vixen hunkered down in her chair as gunshots rang from every direction. The constant boom went on for a few moments, almost like a systematic rhythm playing over her own heartbeat in her ears, until finally, it quieted.
“Get ‘er out of the chair. Tell Price we’re gonna need medical when we get back to base,” A low, growly voice with a thick Manchester accent barked. Vixen glanced up, eyes locking on the black-clad mountain of a man in the doorway. His face was hidden behind a very real looking skull mask, and not an inch of skin was exposed on his entire body, not even his hands. He had a sniper rifle hanging around his back an automatic one in his gloved hands. Vixen glanced at the floor, eyes meeting the exact image she thought she’d see. The militia’s guards were rotting in puddles of crimson.
She flinched when something cold landed on her wrists. Glancing behind her, she spotted two more bodies and another man, kneeling, picking at the ropes that bound her hands to the chair. He had a carefully buzzed mohawk and a deadly focused expression as he loosened the knot.
Suddenly, it dawned on her. The one in the doorway had said Price.
John Price was the name the captain she was transferring to.
This was Task Force 141?
“Bit late for the party,” She stated, bringing her hands forward and shaking out her wrists as soon as she man behind her got the rope untied.
“Fashionably late,” He muttered, thick Scottish accent floating through the air like a refreshing breeze.
“Thank God. With the little bit I heard about you, I was afraid you’d all be brits,” She sighed in relief, rubbing her eyes. “I hate the British.”
The scot patted her shoulder, bending down and untying her ankles. “Me, too.”
Someone was suddenly latched onto her vest, hoisting her out of the chair. It took her a solid ten seconds to realize the big man with the mask had made his way over. She hadn’t seen nor heard him. How could a man that big move like that? Like he wasn’t even there? Like a ghost?
“You shot anywhere else?” He asked. Only then did she spot the cold, distant gray eyes sitting behind his mask, carefully taking in every detail of her being.
“No, just the leg. Doesn’t feel critical,” She replied, although it did hurt like an absolute mother.
“No, not shot anywhere else,” He said into his radio, obviously updating whoever was on the other end of the line about her status. The big man swooped her off of her feet and threw her over his shoulder, prompting her to squeak.
“What the bloody hell?! Put me down, you eejit! I can walk!”
He dropped her straight onto her feet again. A shooting pain ripped all the way from her leg to her head, and she didn’t know she was falling until he grabbed the back of her vest to keep her from hitting the concrete.
“Is that so?”
She pulled her mouth into a thin line as she struggled out of his grip, standing on her single uninjured leg like a flamingo. “Yes, it is so, big man.”
“You gonna hop on one leg up the stairs and out the door, too?” The scot joked. Vixen’s face fell. Stairs? She didn’t know there were stairs.
Without another word, the big man picked her up again, tossing her over his shoulder like a rag doll. They proceeded out of the building, which turned out to be a tiny shanty with a massive torture basement? Vixen didn’t pay much attention because she was too busy telling that bloke to put her down. But he only did so when they climbed into a military vehicle parked outside. He dropped her on one of the bench seats in the back, posting up across from her as the scot climbed in the drivers seat and roared the engine to life. The headlights made everything glow, and that was the first time she saw the bodies outside. A dozen, maybe more, in the same uniform as Farris, all dead with their blood decorating the shack’s yard.
“This place needed some new decor,” She hummed, wincing lightly as she brought her injured leg up to rest on the seat. “There a medkit in here?”
The big man stayed silent, reaching under his seat and retracting his hand with a white box. She took it and placed it beside her. She rolled up her pant leg, grimacing at the nasty bullet wound in her right thigh. There was no exit hole. But, then again, it wasn’t squirting blood every time her heart beat, and it looked a good few inches off of her femoral artery. Probably just ripped through the skin and muscle on the inside of her leg.
“You got a blade?” She questioned, bouncing lightly as the car rolled along. After a quiet moment, the man across from her handed her a small knife. It was thin and long. It would do nicely.
“Thanks,” She continued. She grabbed a long wooden stick out of the medkit and placed it between her teeth. And, after a mental count of three, shoved the knife into the hole in her leg.
The adrenaline pumping through her veins kept her from feeling most of the pain as she weaseled the blade around inside of her leg, dragging it back out. She did that a few times more, in, out, in, out, dragging it against each side until finally, a bullet clanked against the metal seat under her. With a satisfied sigh, she grabbed some wipes from the medkit and ripped them open, cleaning the seat where her blood had dripped all over it. After, she bandaged and gauzed up her leg, pulling her pants back down over it all.
The man across from her watched in silence as she cleaned up the medkit mess, closing up the case and leaving it to sit on the seat next to her. Her amber eyes locked onto his gray ones, each displaying a deep, dark coldness that looked eerily similar, yet, utterly different.
“I like your eyes,” Vixen stated, shifting in her seat. She wasn’t saying it to acknowledge the fact that it was the only part of him she could see… she was saying it because she really did like his eyes. She liked the way the distant glint in his irises made her feel. Like she wasn’t the only completely detached soldier in the car. And while their coldness manifested in different ways — the man staying physically distanced, and Vixen, burying the broken pieces of her real self under layers and layers of sarcasm and cynicism — it made her feel something. Even if she didn’t know what, it relaxed her buzzing adrenaline and allowed the rocking vehicle enough leeway to lull her to sleep.

Carrickfergus Castle
Carrickfergus Castle is located in the county of Antrim in Carrickfergus, Ireland. The Norman castle was built on the shore of Belfast Lough in 1177 by John de Courcy, but he was ousted by Hugh de Lacy in 1204. The castle has a long history of sieges and changing hands. The structure began with a 40-meter keep with four-meter-thick walls. The last building created was the stone gatehouse that had a portcullis and a drawbridge over a moat. In 1797, the castle was used to house prisoners of war and was heavily defended during the Napoleonic wars. It was used by the army until 1928 and served as a garrison and ordnance store during WWI and an air-raid shelter from 1939-1945 during WWII. Ownership was transferred to the government for preservation in 1928. The four-story castle has a second-story stair entrance. The ground floor has no windows and houses the castle’s water supply. The lord of the castle held court on the second floor, while the top floor housed his private accommodations.

About Last Night
Fandom: Supergirl
Characters: Kara Danvers, Lillian Luthor, Lena Luthor, Andrea Rojas, Lionel Luthor, Lex Luthor, Clark Kent, Alex Danvers, Eve Teschmacher
Summary: Lillian Luthor is eagerly wanting to get to her daughter's destination wedding. However, a couple of detours with the docile Kara Danvers changes her life in a big way.
Rating: Mature
Word Count With All Chapters: 5,063
Chapter: 1/?
Trigger Warning: There is a smut scene in this chapter
Lillian tapped her foot while waiting in line. There were two people waiting in front of her.
“Ugh,” she groaned as she checked her phone again.
She was supposed to leave on a private plane with Lena and her fiancé Andrea five hours ago to help with wedding preparations, but of all days Morgan Edge wanted to start a coup and take over the company. Lillian urged Lena and Andrea ahead while she put Edge in his place. She was in a particularly petty mode and decided to lay out all of Edge’s skeletons in front of the Board. Needless to say, they voted him off the Board after 15 minutes.
However, since Lena had the plane, it meant that she would have to ride commercial. She did manage to get a first class ticket, however, the plane made a detour and landed in Las Vegas. They said it was due to weather conditions, but it was sunny outside. When everyone tried to argue, they were told to ask the desk attendant for more information and about making other travel arrangements.
Lillian took a deep breathe and rubbed her temple.
“Keep it together Lillian. The wedding is in 7 days. We were only going to Ireland this early to make sure everything was set up for the wedding by the end of the week. Also, look on the bright side. You are no longer near that creepy gardener anymore.”
She shuddered when she thought of her former seat companion. He seemed harmless at first with all of his plant puns. However, he quickly went from “I beg your garden” to “You make my plants wet”. She was about to call the flight attendant for a possible new seat when the announcement came about the change in destination.
Lillian was so lost in thought that she didn’t realize that she was next in line.
“Umm ma’am, are you ok?”
“Oh, I am so sorry. It has just been a trying day.”
“No worries! How can I help you today?”
“I was wondering if you have any flights that leave out for Dublin, Ireland today.”
“Flights headed out east have all been cancelled.”
“What!”
“There is a severe snow storm in most of the states out west and in the midwest. There is zero visibility in those area.”
Lillian took a couple of big breathes before asking shakily, “When would flights be up and running again?”
“The next flight out to Dublin wouldn’t be until tomorrow night at 7 as long as the winter advisory is gone by then.”
Lillian clenches her fingers on the edge of the desk until her knuckle turns white. She forced a smile while staring at the attendant.
“I will take the 7pm out to Dublin tomorrow,” said Lillian through gritted teeth.
The attendant looked relieved.
Probably because others have gone off on her due to this inconvenience.
Lillian sighed. She knew that this wasn’t the lady’s fault. As much as she wanted to, not even she could control the weather. If anything this was Edge’s fault for making her miss her flight.
I need to make sure to do something extra special for Edge when I get back.
Lillian smirked to herself thinking of all the different ways to make Edge’s life hell once she returned.
The attendant gave her the ticket and said, “I have everything for your flight set up. Just a head’s up, you probably want to call now to make hotel arrangements. The hotels were already busy due to several major music acts being here this weekend.”
“Thanks you so much. I will do that right now.”
“Have a good day!”
Lillian quickly went to the sit down and started calling hotels. While she waited on hold, she checked to make sure she had her carry ons. Since, she received the call about Edge while they were transferring stuff to the private plane from her car, Lena had the majority of her stuff. The only thing she kept with her since she was in a hurry to get back to L-Corp was her carry on bag which had a two shirts and some jeans. She had planned to change out of her clothing before landing into something more comfortable. Due to the location that Lena chose for the wedding, a lot of the travel had to be on foot.

Maximizing EIIS Income Tax Relief: The Best EIIS Funds and Sustainable Investment Opportunities in Ireland
The Employment and Investment Incentive Scheme (EIIS) is a valuable tool for investors in Ireland, offering attractive income tax relief while simultaneously supporting Irish businesses. The scheme encourages private investments in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by providing tax relief on investments. This initiative helps drive innovation and growth in Ireland’s economy while providing substantial financial benefits for investors. The EIIS income tax relief allows eligible investors to reduce their income tax liability by up to 40%, making it an excellent option for those seeking tax efficiency alongside potential investment growth. The scheme is a key pillar for those interested in sustainable investment and green ventures.
For those seeking the best EIIS fund in Ireland, the market offers several reputable options. Selecting the best fund typically depends on the investor's goals, risk appetite, and interest in specific sectors such as technology, healthcare, or renewable energy. Many EIIS funds focus on supporting EIIS companies that align with ethical and green investment strategies. These companies are at the forefront of innovation in sectors such as renewable energy, waste reduction, and environmentally sustainable technologies, providing investors with the opportunity to contribute to the global push toward sustainability. Investors should conduct thorough research or consult with financial advisors to identify the best EIIS funds based on performance, sector focus, and commitment to sustainability.
One of the major trends driving investment choices today is ESG investing, which stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance. This investment approach prioritizes businesses that meet high ethical and sustainable standards, making it particularly appealing for investors who value corporate responsibility. The EIIS offers a great platform for ESG investing, as many companies participating in the scheme focus on environmentally friendly practices and socially responsible operations. By investing in EIIS funds, investors can align their financial goals with their ethical values, contributing to companies that prioritize sustainability while benefiting from significant tax relief. The combination of ESG principles and EIIS income tax relief makes these investments attractive for a broad range of investors, particularly those interested in making a positive impact on the environment.
If you are asking, what is the best income tax relief benefit in Ireland, the EIIS is widely considered one of the most generous and beneficial schemes available to Irish taxpayers. By investing in EIIS-approved companies, individuals can claim tax relief of up to 40%, spread over a four-year period. The first 30% is available in the year the investment is made, with the remaining 10% becoming available after three years, provided the investment meets certain conditions. This makes the EIIS one of the best tax relief schemes in Ireland for those who want to reduce their tax liability while contributing to the growth of innovative Irish companies.
For individuals wondering, am I eligible for the EII scheme, eligibility is relatively broad, though certain conditions must be met. To participate, an investor must be a taxpayer in Ireland and invest in an EIIS-approved company. The investment must remain in the company for a minimum of four years, during which the investor cannot sell or transfer their shares without risking the loss of tax relief. The companies that qualify for the EIIS must be small or medium-sized enterprises, typically unlisted on major stock exchanges. These companies usually operate within sectors that are vital to Ireland’s economic growth, including renewable energy, technology, and manufacturing. Consulting with a financial advisor or tax expert can help ensure that all eligibility requirements are met and that the investment aligns with long-term financial goals.
Understanding what is the criteria for EIIS is crucial for anyone considering an investment in this scheme. EIIS companies must be SMEs based in Ireland, and they are required to engage in qualifying trade activities. These activities can range from manufacturing and technology to renewable energy and other environmentally conscious industries. The company must be unlisted, meaning it is not traded on any stock exchange, and it must use the investment for business growth, job creation, or operational expansion. Additionally, investors must retain their shares for at least four years to receive the full tax relief. By ensuring that both the company and the investor meet these criteria, individuals can maximize their tax relief while supporting the growth of high-potential Irish companies.
Investors often ask, who is the most successful EIIS fund in Ireland, and while several funds have shown strong performance, it’s essential to evaluate them based on specific criteria. Success can be measured through financial returns, the growth of the companies within the fund, and the ability of the fund to deliver the promised tax relief. The most successful EIIS funds often focus on sectors with significant growth potential, such as renewable energy, healthcare, and technology. Additionally, these funds are typically managed by experienced professionals who have a deep understanding of the Irish market and the unique opportunities it presents. A successful EIIS fund not only provides investors with financial gains but also supports sustainable businesses that contribute to Ireland’s economic and environmental future.
In addition to being a sound financial investment, the EIIS plays a pivotal role in promoting green investment and sustainability in Ireland. Many companies eligible for the EIIS are focused on creating environmentally sustainable products and services, contributing to Ireland’s long-term environmental goals. By investing in these companies, individuals can not only reduce their tax burden but also support initiatives that have a positive impact on the environment. This is particularly appealing for investors who are committed to ESG investing and want to ensure their investment choices align with their ethical and environmental values.
In summary, the EIIS income tax relief is one of the best opportunities for Irish taxpayers to reduce their tax liability while supporting the growth of innovative companies. By choosing the best EIIS fund in Ireland, investors can gain exposure to high-potential sectors such as technology, healthcare, and renewable energy. The scheme is particularly appealing to those interested in sustainable investment and green investment, as many EIIS companies are focused on environmentally responsible business practices. For those asking, am I eligible for the EII scheme and what is the criteria for EIIS, it is crucial to ensure both the investor and the company meet the scheme’s requirements. Finally, investors should consider who is the most successful EIIS fund in Ireland by evaluating the fund’s performance, sector focus, and alignment with ESG investing principles. By participating in the EIIS, investors can achieve financial growth while making a positive impact on the Irish economy and the environment.

Empowering Farmers: The Role and Importance of Agricultural Extension
Introduction
Agricultural extension is the foundation of modern farming, providing crucial support to farmers by spreading knowledge, training, and innovative practices. This service helps enhance productivity, sustainability, and livelihoods, making it an indispensable part of agricultural development. In this blog, we will explore what agricultural extension is, its significance, various methods used, leading organization, and its impact on farming communities.
Definition and Scope of Agricultural Extension Services
Agricultural extension services are defined as the entire set of organizations that facilitate and support people engaged in agricultural activities to solve problems and to obtain information, skills, and technologies to improve their livelihoods and well-being” (Davis, Babu, & Ragasa, 2020).
The Role of Agricultural Extension Services
Agricultural extension programs play a vital role in addressing rural poverty and food insecurity by transferring technology, supporting rural adult learning, and helping farmers solve problems. Defined by the FAO as systems that provide farmers with access to knowledge, information, and technologies, these programs facilitate interactions with research, education, and agribusiness partners.
They also help farmers develop technical, organizational, and management skills. Agricultural extension is essential for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of agriculture, promoting the safety and quality of agricultural products, and supporting rural development efforts. As a key component in technology transfer, agricultural extension significantly contributes to both agricultural and rural development.
Agricultural extension services aim to improve farmers' productivity and sustainability by providing them with the latest knowledge, techniques, and technologies. These services can be offered by government agencies, universities, NGOs, and private companies, focusing on:
Dissemination of information
Education and training
Advisory services
Facilitation and linkage
Problem-solving
Historical Perspective
The modern extension service began in Ireland in the mid-19th century. Between 1845-51, the Irish potato crop failed due to fungal diseases, causing a severe famine. The British Government sent "practical instructors" to rural areas to teach farmers alternative crops. This model inspired similar systems in Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Italy, and France by the end of the century.
The 1960s witnessed the Green Revolution in India. Agricultural extension was pivotal in spreading new knowledge and technology to farmers, introducing the "Transfer of Technology" concept.By the 1980s and 1990s, the approach became more decentralized and involved farmers in decision-making. NGOs and voluntary agencies also played a key role in promoting sustainable farming practices.
Currently, efforts focus on linking research institutions, extension agencies, and farmers. Farmer-centric approaches, like farmer field schools and participatory rural appraisals, are popular. The emphasis has shifted to sustainable agriculture, organic farming, and climate-smart practices to ensure food security and address environmental challenges
Agricultural extension has a rich history, evolving over the decades to meet the changing needs of farmers. Originally focused on simple information sharing, it has now embraced advanced technologies and methodologies to offer comprehensive support.
