To unlock a deeper understanding of this West African gem, it's essential to venture out and immerse yourself in the captivating cultural landscapes that make Ghana so remarkable.
Tumblr media
Start your cultural odyssey in the Ashanti Region, the heartland of the prestigious Ashanti Kingdom. At the center of this cultural epicenter lies Kumasi, a city that pulses with history and tradition. This spectacular celebration honors the Ashanti's royal ancestors through mesmerizing dances, rhythmic drumming, and the intricate display of ornate kente cloth. Seek out the ancient mud-brick mosques, such as the Larabanga Mosque, one of the oldest in West Africa, and immerse yourself in the region's deep Islamic heritage.
Tumblr media

Staying within the Greater Accra Region, venture to the fishing villages of Jamestown and Chorkor to experience the vibrant Ga culture. Observe the daily lives of the Ga people, their colorful architectural style, and their rich cultural celebrations, such as the Homowo Festival, which commemorates the victory over famine. Engage with the local artisans and learn about their time-honored crafts, from pottery to basket weaving.
Tumblr media
Finally, make your way to the Central Region to immerse yourself in the Fante culture. Explore the historic towns of Cape Coast and Elmina, where the remnants of colonial-era forts and castles stand as silent witnesses to the region's complex past. Ten years after the One Direction shows, Louis Tomlinson returned to Vélez to make the stadium vibrate
The 32-year-old British singer showed off on a cold night, to which he knew how to change the temperature with his music and his fans,
"This is fucking crazy. Sing with me!" he said in one of his many interactions with the public.

After a brief promotional visit, British singer Louis Tomlinson (32 years old) returned to Argentina with his world tour Faith in the Future to offer an electric and unforgettable show this Saturday at the José Amalfitani. The Vélez stadium was the epicenter of a night full of emotions, where euphoria and nostalgia mixed in the air when the former member of One Direction took the same stage that he shared with the British-Irish band in his two shows of 10 years ago.
Unlike the tour that brought him to the country in 2022 to present his debut album Walls at the Movistar Arena, this time Louis was accompanied by another former member of the band, Liam Payne, who at 20.40 caused a great surprise by appearing on the northern preferential stage of the court to enjoy the concert from a private box.
As it could not be otherwise, when they saw him, the fans sang his name in unison: "Liam, Liam! Liam, Liam!", a gesture that did not go unnoticed for the English singer who decided to leave the box for a few seconds to say hello, smiling and lively.
After 21.15, the reflectors that illuminated the stadium suddenly went out to start the concert, which took place on an almost winter night that was felt to the bones due to the low temperatures that reached a minimum of 8°. But nothing and no one could tarnish the party that was about to begin.
It was then that the stadium became a tide of cell phones ready to record the triumphant arrival of Louis Tomlinson, who when he met again with his audience after two years, began to sing the opening song, The Greatest, which is part of his second album that gives its name to the world tour.
Tumblr media
In this way, the performer led an almost two-hour show whose setlist was made up of 21 songs, 16 of which belong to his first two albums: Walls and Faith In The Future.
He also performed Night Changes and Where Do Broken Hearts Go?, two iconic songs from One Direction's album Four (2014) that reverted from pop to rock to accompany the live sound of his solo project crossed by musical influences of Britpop and Brit Rock.
Tomlinson and his fans, an indestructible bond
Over the years, on more than one occasion, the British singer was frank about the close bond that unites him to his fans around the world, who for shows usually organize fan projects - massive creative actions organized on social networks to deploy at different moments of a concert - and when playing his first solo show in an Argentine stadium, it was no different.
Tumblr media
The first one that was seen on the Vélez court occurred during the second song, Kill My Mind. "This is absolutely crazy. Sing with me!" exclaimed Tomlinson, visibly surprised, realizing that the stadium had turned into a great tide of white lights that moved up and down as he sang the bridge of the song "Kill my, kill my, kill my."
Other fan projects that stood out throughout the night were given during the performance of Saturday, which consisted of printing white posters with the black legend that read "This saturday takes the pain away", a phrase that alludes to the lyrics.
Tumblr media
For Out of My System, the public was organized to have white and red handkerchiefs, characteristic colors of the album Faith in the Future and to be able to wave them at the beginning of the song and also in the choruses, which generated a real rock climate.
"Buenos Aires, I need to talk because this is fucking crazy! I want to start the show by thanking each of the people who are here tonight. You’ve blown my mind!" said the singer from Doncaster, United Kingdom, obnce the concert began.
In the middle of his speech, Tomlinson was honest about how shocked he felt at the warm welcome he received at the José Amalfitani stadium: "Maybe you have a different opinion, but I never, not even in a fucking million years, expected to be alone on a stage of this size, and be proud for me, I can feel it, but be proud of yourself for what we create together."
"This is incredible but... Jesus, it’s fucking cold!" was one of the many comments that Louis made, with a funny tone throughout the cold night.
Tumblr media
When singing the sixth song We Made It, he made sure to go through the stage from end to end and also used the catwalk to be in contact with the largest number of people present in the audience.
Then, he asked his loyal fans that by singing it "to think about how far we’ve come together" referring to the ups and downs he faced after the end of One Direction in 2015 that meant five years of global success and the uncertainties he overcame to encourage himself to launch his career as a solo singer in 2020. And by way of support, the audience sang in unison: "Olé olé olé olé, Louis, Louis!"
As if time had not passed and it was still 2014, fans chanted every word of the hits Night Changes and Where Do Broken Hearts Go?, which marked One Direction's career. The band has left precedents that, although no longer active, left a mark with its discography for more than a generation.
As the concert came to the end, Tomlinson said: "Tonight I enjoyed every second, except for the cold" in terms of how he experienced the concert he gave in Argentina after 2 years.
"Every one of you has been incredible. It feels fucking good to play in a stadium of this size, feel so good on stage and have all of you here so again, thank you, thank you, thank you," Louis thanked his fans for the last time before warning that there was only one song left in the repertoire: Silver Tongues to recognize that he was not ready for the concert to end: "I don't want this to end but we have to.”
As it usually happens and it has already become a tradition during his concerts, Louis came down from the stage to approach the fans who were on the barricades at the front, and thus interact with them and greet them up close.

Born a photographer March 29, 1944. Abbas Attar was an Iranian transplanted to Paris. He dedicated himself to documenting the political and social life of societies in conflict. In a career that spanned six decades, he covered wars and revolutions in Biafra, Bangladesh, Northern Ireland, Vietnam, the Middle East, Chile, Cuba, and South Africa during apartheid. He also documented life in Mexico over several years, and pursued a lifelong interest in religion and its intersection with society.
From 1978 to 1980, Abbas photographed the revolution in Iran, to which he returned in 1997 after seventeen years of voluntary exile. His book Iran Diary 1971-2002 is a critical interpretation of Iranian history, photographed and written as a private journal.
During his years of exile Abbas traveled constantly. Between 1983 and 1986 he journeyed through Mexico, attempting to photograph a country as a novelist might write about it. The resulting exhibition and book, Return to Mexico: Journeys Beyond the Mask, helped define his photographic aesthetic.
From 1987 to 1994, he focused on the growth of Islamism throughout the world. Allah O Akbar: A Journey Through Militant Islam, the subsequent book and exhibition, spanning twenty-nine countries and four continents, attracted special attention after the 9/11 attacks by Islamic jihadists. A later book, Faces of Christianity: A Photographic Journey (2000), and touring show, explored Christianity as a political, ritual and spiritual phenomenon.
Abbas’s concern with religion led him in 2000 to begin a project on animism, in which he sought to discover why non-rational ritual had re-emerged in a world increasingly defined by science and technology. He abandoned this undertaking in 2002, on the first anniversary of 9/11, to start a new long-term project about the clash of religions, defined as a culture rather than faith, which he believed are turning into political ideologies and therefore one of the sources of the strategic struggles of the contemporary world.
From 2008 to 2010 Abbas travelled the world of Buddhism, photographing with the same skeptical eye. In 2013, he concluded a similar long-term project on Hinduism.
Most recently before his death, Abbas was working on documenting Judaism around the world.
A member of Sipa from 1971 to 1973, then of Gamma from 1974 to 1980, Abbas joined Magnum Photos in 1981 and became a member in 1985.
On Wednesday April 25, 2018 the Iranian photographer Abbas Attar known simply as Abbas, died in Paris, aged 74.
According to Abbas, in a 2017 interview with Magnum, there are two photographic methods: “One is writing with light,” he said, “and the other is drawing with light.” While he viewed other Magnum photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson as adherents of the latter, the former was the foundation of Abbas’ practice. In lieu of placing his focus on single moments in time, he looked at his photographs as interlinked elements of a greater whole. In this sense, Abbas was a storyteller, and his images were pages of tales on celluloid, which were no less arresting when viewed (or rather, read) in isolation.
In the same interview, Abbas noted that it was a 1968 trip to New Orleans that made him understand the importance of what he called “sequencing”, or creating a narrative thread through a series of images. Examples of this can be seen in Abbas’s book Return to Mexico: Journey Beyond the Mask (1992), a document of his travels through the country in the 1980s.
His books aside, Abbas’ work has been the subject of exhibitions in galleries and museums around the world, including the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, the National Museum of Singapore, Galerie FNAC and the Magnum Gallery in Paris, and the Grey Art Gallery at New York University.
“It is with immense sadness that we lose him,” Dworzak said. “May the gods and angels of all the world’s major religions he photographed so passionately be there for him.”

After a lovely evening with his husband, lovely. Lovely. Flotsam's mind started to realize a part of them was always Valerie and just like parts of Flo remained in Val, Val's manner of speech/thinking was still in Flo. He did. He had a god damn lovely evening with his husband before packing for Ireland. Now he remembered why he missed having a dick though. How lucky was he to experience his handsome husband every way possible?
He woke in a good mood. Even going back to bottle mode didn't feel as intense as it did the first time now that he'd gotten to switch back and forth. There was a safe feeling in knowing all he had to do was take off the necklace if Valerie really needed to. All Flo's little secret fears and true wishes were out of the bag so to say and Thomas and his wolf helped put Flo at ease there too. Halloweening was on the list of to dos. So Flo wasn't freaking out. Everything was going to be okay no matter where in the world they were. He still wanted to get away after all he'd learned of himself in the middle of what else had been stressing him. So he was back to escapism mode with the vacation wanting to get away, but really, it wasn't so heavy anymore. Thomas was still being the fix it guy for him and all it took was a conversation he never wanted to have.
The first thing Flotsam did was start to write a list of things he wanted to do before leaving Ireland. Order mattered not. He found the basics, as far as basics go for him. He isn't the sort to want to tour every damn castle in Ireland or anywhere else in Europe. But, Blarney Castle he'd go for.
"Babe. So fair warning. I'm taking the kids to carry out their first felony. We will accomplish a family heist at the Blarney Castle and steal plants from the Poison Garden. Goals. I have them."
Go to Blarney Castle
Kiss the Blarney stone
Steal plants from the Poison Garden
The Northern Lights
See The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Grand Opera House in Belfast ((because it has to be fate that's playing while they're there))
The National Leprechaun Museum
Titanic Museum
Goals indeed. "Northern lights. Pretty sure there's somewhere in Ireland you can see them. I so wished you were there when I got to go to Alaska. I wished it the whole time we were staring at the sky. Not that I told anyone this back then because I was still in young crush me who refuses to tell anyone I like you in that wayish. But, we can see them in Ireland too. Even better. Your green world. Meant to be. Has to happen."
He was googling things on their way there, in parking lots, in lines, sitting around waiting for flights, all those boring moments he took his moment to play tourist. He spoke as they were on their way to the rental.
"Rocky Horror is playing at the Grand Opera House. Feels like an authentic Irish experience to me." He laughed having a hard time picturing Rocky Horror being done with Irish accents and couldn't help not smiling. "Leprechaun museum for cheesy pictures with the kids and Titanic Museum for morbid pictures of us having fun taking end of ship movie photos at what's essentially a memorial of dead people's things drudged up from bottom of the ocean, Captain. Gotta love capitalism." He said with his own cheesy grin.
He grinned over at him when he called him Captain remembering their date on the boat. He really liked that. "We should buy a boat. Also this is the last trip without Pippin. I'm getting her a damn plane for real. The one I would have ended up getting Chip. I halted on that because of his zombie-thing worried that maybe he shouldn't be flying around after all wings or not. But, Pip's still clear headed. If anything they can fly together and she can take over if he zombies out."
They were building an air strip out in Nola. It's all Feral now. They were probably never going back any how. Time to consider where to keep a private plane elsewhere.
When they finally pulled into the rental and Flotsam got to see where his escape was going to be he smiled. It felt like something Thomas would pick.
Tumblr media
"Look at you giving us the real deal experience, Cap. This is so great. Perfect for all of us." He kept picturing him with the sea behind him. Something kept making his mind go back to that date. He remembered how Thomas looked with the blue waves of adventure behind him. But, he really did like the privacy there. With the triplets he liked their own space. He'd accept the maid service for the time being. Flo's one of those people who would rather do something himself than have people near him sometimes. So, it would be no wonder if he ever called them off or put a do not disturb on the property as a whole because fuck people. No maid outfit required for Thomas. It would probably weird Flo out if he did.
"Oh, you know what else I want to do at some point? Go to the rebel poet's pub. James Clarence Mangan. I don't know the name of it. But, I know it's in Ireland. I'll find it if I look it up. But, I heard he haunts a pub in Ireland. I'm going to find out if it's true." Leave it to Flotsam to want to go get autographs of dead celebrities, not live ones. "Maybe Leap Castle, but only because I know it's like one of the hauntedier ones and I would love to see the murder hole, but really. I don't need to see every castle in Ireland, ya feel me?"
Then right as he said ya feel me as he walking through the quaint style cottage of neutral colors he spotted the prize winner of the property. The ocean.
"Oh!"
It was ocean front property. Flotsam started to glow. He didn't need River's inner physical glow to see this beaming straight from the inside out. He stopped yick yacking and his whole face lit up.
Tumblr media
"Oh my fucking a-hole. Look at that. Look what you did. We are sitting next to the ocean. Like... on purpose. We can just walk outside and it's... it's right there." He pointed out at it over top of the stroller he'd been pushing. "Right there." He jumped enough to where both feet came off the floor and knees rose waist high. His feet in those heavy kicks stamped back down. "Right there, Thomas. It's right there. Real ocean."
They didn't have to get into a car and drive there first, get the car and go home after, consider the light of day, or night, length of travel back for drying off, cleaning up, anything that beach brings on. It wasn't a lake shore. It wasn't a river's shore like on the old Mississippi. It wasn't a swamp. It was a real life ocean shore.
"Right. There." He kept pointing.

06/06/2022 - Day 3
78 years ago today marks one of the most important campaigns of WW2 and it won’t involve too much driving today either. We were in for another potential treat providing Carl Liversage can sort something out apparently.. what that is we don’t exactly know but sounds exciting.
Todays agenda
Museum of the Battle of Normandy
Surprise
Jerusalem War Cemetery
Ver-sur-Mer (British Normandy Memorial)
Museum of the Battle of Normandy
Literally a stones throw from the Château is the Musee Memorial de la Bataille de Normandie (Museum of the battle of Normandy) and this will be the first stop of the day. Upon arrival we notice a cemetery on right (Bayeux War Cemetery) which appeared to have some big event going on with diplomat plated Mercedes parked up at the entrance and Royal British Legion tents etc… maybe this is the ‘surprise’?
We regroup and walk past a few WW2 tanks M4A1(75) Sherman tank & a Churchill Mk VII Crocodile Flamethrower Tank towards the entrance of the museum. There are others tanks but these in particular were what I consider more interesting.
The museum it without doubt is one of my favourite museums that I’ve been to, having a vast amount of exhibits with detailed descriptions of how what and why etc. I would highly recommend a visit when in Bayeux.
Bayeux War Cemetery Ceremony
I’d previously mentioned we had noticed that there was a ceremony going on in the Bayeux cemetery… well we were informed after the museum visit we’d be attending. This was honestly an honour as we were will be allowed to sit behind veterans whom served on the D-Day landings and listen to them recite poems and stories of fighting alongside their friends and servicemen, prior to this we were even fortunate enough to witness a fly over by a spitfire and hear the bellowing 1700hp V12 Merlin engine. I mean this is pretty awesome given the context of the event.
Jerusalem War Cemetery
Our last bit of green lanes of rural France leads us to the Jerusalem War Cemetery. Just another cemetery you are probably thinking reading this. But this cemetery does have some significance in fact all do but this one in particular has the youngest allied fall soldier Private Jack Banks of the Durham Light Infantry who fell on the 21st July 1944.
His regiment, the Durham Light Infantry, had advanced around 20 miles into France. After six weeks had surpassed the battalion commander required three volunteers to take out an enemy machine gun post which was situated inside a farmhouse near Caen.
One of those volunteers was Jack and of course two servicemen, sadly these men were tragically struck and killed by enemy mortar fire when attempting their objectives and are buried together.
Ver-sur-Mer (British Normandy Memorial)
Being honoured to attend the ceremony earlier there another at The British Normandy Memorial that were also attending. It stands just outside the village of Ver-sur-Mer overlooking Gold Beach, one of the two beaches where British forces landed on D-Day. The memorial which was opened in 2021 records the (22,442) names of all those under British command who lost their lives in Normandy between 6 June and 31 August 1944.
The Memorial was for the first time the focal point of the commemorations in Normandy, as a place where people could come together to remember and reflect. This was televised around the world, again there were more veterans some from earlier and a couple others who had landed on gold beach 78 years ago today. There was a military band playing Elgar - Nimrod and The Last Post among others I’m not so familiar with but build such an atmosphere.
As dark clouds close in on what has been a fantastic day, the trip was topped off with a flyover by a Douglas C-47 Skytrain (Dakota) and again to reiterate it’s a surreal experience to hear those WW2 warbirds. Now we say our goodbyes and head back to good old Blighty which is around a 9 hour journey (including ferry) to go back to normality.
The trip has been incredible, the agenda was spot on as well as the stories curated by Kieth Bowen as well as the rest of the team (Carl Liversage & Nick Gage).
Be sure to book a trip with

Enjoy a Blue Lagoon Excursion
Embark on this exciting excursion to Iceland’s world famous Blue Lagoon. This spa offers a rejuvenating experience in its azure waters that are rich in white silica mud.
Unlike cruise line private islands, this one is independent and able to accommodate guests from all major cruise lines. With a limited number of entry slots available, it is best to reserve your ticket well in advance.
Arrival
Revitalize mind, body and spirit with a visit to Iceland’s famed milky-blue lagoon. While it may seem like a touristy experience – with lines at reception, influencers snapping photos in the water and elbow-to-elbow bathers – the vast expanse of the lagoon’s restorative silica-and sulfur-rich waters will leave you feeling refreshed.
Hop aboard a hassle-free option that includes transfers to and from the Blue Lagoon and pickup at select hotels in the area. Choose between the Comfort or Premium entrance, with the latter including one Silica Mud Mask at the Lagoon in-water bar and a towel for use during your stay. This excursion is available year-round, but it’s especially popular during the winter when you can also see the northern lights. Check with your cruise line for details.
Transfers
The Blue Lagoon Excursion is a popular attraction that is conveniently located near Keflavik International Airport and Reykjavik. You can easily visit it as a stopover during your trip or add it to a day tour of the Reykjanes Peninsula or the Golden Circle.
The milky blue waters of the lagoon are known to rejuvenate skin and wash away stress in minutes. The water is heated by geothermal energy, and the silica mud is rich in minerals. You can also bring a bit of the lagoon’s magic home with skincare products crafted from its healing mineral ingredients.
The Blue Lagoon has two restaurants that offer a variety of dining experiences. Moss Restaurant is a fine-dining option that features exquisite views of the volcanic horizon and set menus made from the finest local produce.
Entrance
Take a relaxing break during your Iceland vacation with this one-of-a-kind visit to the famous Blue Lagoon. This round-trip adventure combines admission to the geothermal spa with convenient, comfortable coach transportation from Reykjavik.
Soak in the mineral-rich waters, rich in silica, algae, and minerals that have been renowned for their skin-nourishing properties. The Blue Lagoon’s on-site facilities include a sauna, steam cave, mask bar, massage waterfall, and in-water drinks bar.
Enjoy complimentary use of a towel and one drink at the lagoon's in-water bar with a Comfort or Premium entrance ticket. A silica mud mask is also included for those purchasing the more expensive tickets. A pre-soak shower without swimwear is required prior to entering the lagoon. This is done in a separate changing room from the main reception.
Lunch
Relax in the soothing waters of Iceland's famous Blue Lagoon. This geothermal seawater is famed for its restorative powers and is rich in silica. After a pre-soak shower, immerse yourself in the milky-blue water and apply the mineral-rich white silica mud to your skin.
All-Inclusive Experience: Enjoy unlimited drinks and a grilled lunch. The included menu includes a choice of a 1/4 lb Angus Beef Burger, Veggie Burger or Chicken Breast, salad bar and one cup of fruit punch, iced tea or lemonade per person.
Explore the secluded, private island of Blue Lagoon. The white powdered beaches offer a wide array of beach activities and opportunities to unwind and soak up the sun and scenery. Take a relaxing scenic boat ride, swim in the lagoon or visit the world-renowned Dolphin Center and participate in a dolphin encounter or dolphin swim program.
Activities
The Blue Lagoon’s unique milky-blue waters are not only a sight to see, they’re also infused with minerals that nourish the skin. You can upgrade your experience with a range of add-ons, including an in-water massage or a mud mask. In addition, the on-site spa offers a variety of other pampering options, from a sauna and steam room to an adults-only enclave.
Wristbands that connect to your credit card can be used to pay for food and drinks while in the lagoon—a convenient and secure way to avoid the hassle of bringing a wallet with you into the water. There’s also an in-water bar with cocktails and alcoholic beverages for those who want to enjoy a drink while relaxing in the lagoon.
Tuck into a delicious grilled lunch at the Blue Lagoon Island and sip refreshing fruit punch, lemonade or iced tea.

Planning the Perfect Romantic Weekend Getaway in USA
Tumblr media
If you and your significant other envision a dream weekend that seems to be taken straight out of the movies, the United States provides an amazing array of couple-perfect destinations. From sunsets on the beach, mountain lodge scenery, or urban chic escapes, you can find the perfect combination of love, adventure, and relaxation in this diverse and stunning nation.
So, if you're organizing a romantic weekend getaway in the USA with your sweetheart, here's the lowdown — from romantic destinations to quaint experiences that will leave you loving all over again.
First Things First: Organizing Your Romantic Getaway
Before getting to the dreamy destinations, there are a few logistical points to bear in mind:
Choose a destination that aligns both your interests — beaches, mountains, cities, vineyards?
Make a prior reservation for your lodging — romantic retreats, boutique hotels or little cabins make wonders.
Don't pack light but dress elegantly — an outfit for an evening dinner or an evening walk will go miles.
Don’t forget travel documents — if you’re travelling from the UK, be sure to check ESTA eligibility or book your USA visa appointment from UK well ahead of time.
Now, let’s explore some of the most romantic weekend destinations across the USA…
1. New York City, New York — Love in the City That Never Sleeps
Few destinations cry romance as much as New York City. Stroll hand-in-hand through Central Park, sunset cruise around Manhattan, or indulge in a romantic date night with the city skyline at a rooftop bar.
Romantic to-do's:
Ice skating at Bryant Park (winter)
A Broadway production and midnight stroll around Times Square
Rooftop dining in SoHo or DUMBO, Brooklyn
For that perfect snapshot, go to the Top of the Rock during sunset — nothing's more romantic than snuggling as the city lights turn on below.
2. Maui, Hawaii — Tropical Love Story
For sandy toes and languid sunsets, Maui is couples heaven. Spend your days soaking up the sun on golden beaches, snorkeling with sea turtles, or cruising the famous Road to Hana with waterfalls and seashores as backdrops.
Romantic must-haves:
Intimate luau dinner under the stars
Sunrise at Haleakalā Volcano
Couples' beachfront massage
Maui is all about releasing tension and listening to each other — the ocean wind and island beat will take care of the rest.
3. Napa Valley, California — Sip, Swirl, and Swoon
For wine-loving couples, gourmet cuisine, and peaceful countryside vistas, Napa Valley is an ideal choice. This Northern California treasure is tailor-made for languid, sun-drenched days spent on vineyard tours, scenic drives, and decadent tastings.
Romantic must-dos:
Private wine tasting tour
Hot air balloon ride over the vineyards at sunrise
Spa day at a luxury resort
Finish your evening with a candle-lit dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant or a vineyard picnic — sheer romance!
4. Asheville, North Carolina — Mountain Retreat for Two
Hidden among the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville is a spiritual retreat with a combination of natural beauty and artistic elegance. Ideal for couples who are close to nature, it's perfect for hiking, discovering waterfalls, and snuggling up near a fireplace in a mountain cabin.
Romantic must-dos:
Hike along Blue Ridge Parkway trails
Tour the historic Biltmore Estate
Enjoy local cider in a country taproom
It's the type of destination where love seems quiet, solid, and lovely uncomplicated.
5. New Orleans, Louisiana — Passion Meets Culture
Need a combination of music, cuisine, and lively vibes? New Orleans is charged with romance — from jazzy nights in the French Quarter to steaming beignets at midnight.
Romantic must-dos:
Go on a carriage ride through Jackson Square
Enjoy a dinner jazz cruise on the Mississippi River
Take a couple's dance lesson (perhaps a bit of swing or salsa)
New Orleans is ideal for couples who wish to have a taste of culture and closeness in a vibrant, unforgettable atmosphere.
6. Charleston, South Carolina — Southern Charm & Coastal Beauty
For leisurely romance and historic charm, Charleston is a postcard-perfect getaway. With cobblestone streets, antebellum architecture, and pastel-colored houses, it's one of the most photogenic — and romantic — destinations in the USA.
Romantic must-dos:
Sunset stroll along The Battery

Romantic Weekend Travel Tips
To get the most out of your time together, remember these tips:
Plan surprises – breakfast in bed or a surprise spa treatment.
Disconnect from devices – give each other your undivided attention.
Book romantic extras – packages with champagne, chocolates, or rose petals are often available at hotels.
Take photos, but live in the moment – memories are more important than the perfect selfie.
Final Thoughts: Love Is the Destination
Whether you're newly in love, celebrating an anniversary, or just need some quality time together, the USA offers endless ways to reconnect, relax, and fall deeper in love. From vibrant cities to peaceful retreats, you’ll find the perfect backdrop for your romantic weekend.
And if you're flying over from the UK, remember — depending on your travel arrangements, you'll need to pre-book your USA visa appointment from UK. Having done that, all you can do is pack your bags, hold hands, and let the adventure begin.
