Sunday Confessions:

1. Paul Rudd looks his age to me lol ik ppl hype him up saying he looks "ageless" bt he looks his age (54) n theres nothing wrong with that (ik some ppl hasve issues with aging.. lik its nt a priveledge to age n grow older). He prob has good genetics, a good skincare routine that includes sunscreen, balanced diet and has little to no cosmetic surgery which can age you very drastically.

2. On the contrast Kylie Jenner looks A LOT older for her age (almost double her age if im honest), n honestly it looks lik her face is frozen in some instances. All the plastic surgery she got from such a young age is disturbing, i hope the overload of wanting various surgeries from that family dnt trickle down to all their (biracial) daughters bt honestly its probaby inevitable.

3. Good that Jacob/Austin/Cailee etc got recognition from Elvis/Priscilla movies bt i cant get beind the resurgence of Elvis, a whole MAN who was attracted to an underage GIRL, its disturbing. Again, this has nothing to do with the actors cuz thats their job bt just the hype for Elvis as a person (beyond somebody being a fan of his music) isnt for me, n something ill never get.

4. I want more dark/brown skinned it gurls who are in their 20s. Thought it b letitia wright bt that anti-vaxx/anti-lgbtqa thing didnt help. Thoight it b dominque thorne but her show hasnt come out (when i thought it would by now?). The closest who i can think of is keke, whose great bt i want MORE black young women, lupita, whose gorgeous/talented bt older, and Kiki Layne, who i last saw in about 5 minutes in Dont Worry Darling 😔 literally WHERE are the dark/brown skinned young women in hollywood, its tiring

I totally 100% agree with this Anon. 🙏🏾 I've been wanting to see more darker-skinned black women representation in the 20s age range in blockbuster Hollywood films for AGES. 😩 I feel like we're only really recognized when we're late 30s or early 40s and beyond. Two First Round Matches of the Making Towns Classic Announced

Along with the official announcement of Harlow O’Hara joining the tournament and filling the vacant spot left by Delilah Doom first and Valentina Loca second, Mike Hales and company have begun announcing the official pairings in the brackets for the big women’s event, happening on the second Saturday in May. The Making Towns Classic will consist of two shows happening in one day come May 12th at the Nashville Fairgrounds in Tennessee, with the eventual winner being presented with a trophy and bragging rights of being the inaugural recipient.

Elvis Movie Review

There have been countless movies, TV series, and documentaries about Elvis Presley since he died in 1977. He was a superstar, the King of Rock 'n Roll, an icon, and was among the first, and most famous, performers to headline a Las Vegas residency. His talent was immense and his wild, over-the-top life has been scrutinized, ad infinitum.

So, what can possibly be different about this new Elvis movie? It’s the filmmaker—Baz Luhrmann. The stylish, flashy Australian impresario has put his own unique twist on everything from Shakespeare (Romeo + Juliet, 1996) to F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby, 2013), and the City of Lights (Moulin Rouge!, 2001) to the dusty Down Under (Australia, 2008). Luhrmann and his talented team hone in on not only the glitz and glam of Elvis’s life, but they delve into his darker moments and focus on the dysfunctional dynamic between EP and his lifelong manager/manipulator, Colonel Tom Parker.

Parker is played by Tom Hanks, and the role of Elvis is seamlessly embodied by newcomer Austin Butler, who does all his own singing, dancing, and pelvic pulsations. The cast is well-rounded out by Helen Thompson as Elvis’s beloved mom, Gladys, Olivia DeJonge as his wife, Priscilla, Richard Roxburgh as Vernon Presley, and a well-cast assortment playing Elvis’s entourage, also known as the “Memphis Mafia.”

All the sensational stuff is there—Elvis’s controversial hip-dancing, bullet-blasting TV screens, his drug addiction, the hungry hordes who all wanted a piece of the King—but it’s also emotionally gripping and even if you know the story of EP very well, you’ll still find Lurhmann’s version to be fresh and refreshing.

Baz fans will get all the pomp and circumstance we’ve come to know and love, from the color-saturated cinematography to the dizzying edits, and of course, the gorgeous costumes, and attention to detail in the hair and makeup. This biopic really is a hunk, a hunk, a’burnin’ love.

To sum up: Elvis has entered the building! See it on the biggest screen you can.

I love how everyone switched up on jacob elordi after having a few positive reviews for performance ( mind you hes overshadowing the leads barry keoghan in saltburn who has been getting rave reviews and cailee spaeny who also delivered why is that being ignored. Im happy for jacob elordi but also why is that that when black actors and poc actors get positive reviews for there for performances they get neglected or never the given the respect that white actors who do the bare minimum get. Like people really be putting white men on a pedestal for doing the bare minimum. Where is the kelvin harrison, nicole beharie, brian tyree henry, riz ahmed, kiki layne, etc love they've given amazing performances and yet havent even got the same amount of love as JE. Again Im happy JE its amazing to be praised for your work but can we also not reserve that praise only for white men.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that he's overshadowing even Barry's work in Saltburn. 👀 That's interesting, because judging from the trailers, it seems like Barry is going to have the tougher acting performance lol. But we'll see I guess? I mean, I hate to say it, but JE being one of the very FEW actors to be able to promote his work ("Priscilla") right now is definitely working in his favor. Plus, he's SUPER tall, and based on who you ask, probably more "conventionally handsome" than Barry.... 👀 I'm not surprised in the least if he's getting attention. The Devil works hard, but JE's publicists work HARDER! LOL! 😅🤣 I kept telling y'all that when they were calling JE "Generation Z's Leading Man" in that magazine article a while back that they were stretching things and just trying to make him HAPPEN sooo harrrrd lol. Most people were like, "HUH?? Did Tom Holland and Timothee Chalamet up and die that we don't know about?" (Technically, Timmy is a Millennial though lol 🤭)

His team was also trying to put his name out there for James Bond rumors, and for the role of playing the new Superman lol. Like geez.... they don't take a break! Cuz I swear, noooobody was checking for him like that in order to cast his name out in the ring for these two huge franchises. Now, maybe after THIS year, I can see his name swirling and circulating more in these circles. But last year? Psshhht... please lol 😅 The man has never even led a film or even BEEN in a film on the big screen before "Priscilla", let's be honest.

I think we should just wait to either see these two films, or just wait to see what OTHER moviegoers say about the films and who really stole the show before we judge too quickly. Either JE is just getting a bunch of shine simply because he's the only one who can really promote stuff right now lol, OR, he really does shock people by how good his acting really is, and we just are yet to see it onscreen. 🤷🏾‍♀️

❤️❤️ Yea girl, I know what you mean. 😔 We all know what type of society we live in, so it's not even surprising at this point. But you're right, it's just annoying that poc actors get ignored ALL the time, even when we're acting our tails off in several roles. There's usually very little fanfare.
