Prince William visit to The East Belfast Mission 27 June 2023

27 JUNE 2023 || HOMEWARDS LAUNCH TOUR : EAST BELFAST MISSION

The Prince of Wales announced East Belfast Mission as Homewards location in Northern Oreland as he continued his launch tour.

The provides a range of support across all communities in Belfast. One of their key areas of focus is responding to and preventing homelessness and have started rolling out a new housing development initiative- ‘240’.

During his visit he met with charity workers who have been asked to form a coalition with Homewards and participated in a round-table discussion. William also visited the on-site Refresh Cafe and spoke to staff there.

He also met refugee Mehrshad Esfandiari from Iran who used had previously used the services provided by the charity, and now owns his own home. William also spoke with Grainia Long who is the Northern Ireland Housing Executive chief executive.

The Prince of Wales later spent time greeting and chatting with the wellwishers gathered outside.
