Journey to the Past: The Value of Reminiscing

Remembering the things that matter most to us, one must venture into the past. To others, a journey to the past is simply pointless; to some, a discovery of unrealized learning. But, is there really any value at all in the reminiscences of a person’s phases of waning innocence? A Journey to the Past and Why It Matters It is but sheer folly to deny the significance of the fortuitous events of our younger days. These events had helped us built our present mindset. Of course, we met a series of mishaps during those days, but those experiences molded us. Sometimes we fail to acknowledge the learning that an experience grants us. Some events have to occur twice or more for us to figure out things. There is no denying in that; it’s normal for people to miss a glance on the important things. But, there are also those who are not willing to learn anything at all from these events. If you are a person who wishes to break from a cycle that has been recurring since childhood, a journey to the past is necessary. But, it’s important this time to sharpen your intuition and senses. For you to do that, you’ll have to open your mind to possibilities and reflect deeply on those events. There Is Value in Reminiscing The determination to learn something from the past often leads to paths you expect the least. Yet, these paths may come in handy—as long as you learn something from them, that is. As your journey to the past progresses with a new attitude on looking toward things, your perspective widens significantly. Consequently, the constant reflection on certain events grants you a higher understanding of life. Thusly, we come up with resolutions and, too, have a higher awareness of ourselves—capabilities and limits. Of course, there are also dangers that oppose this journey. We have to deal with the unresolved demons we buried alive in the past. Venturing into the past may mean allowing them to resurface and face them. Thinking about it probably makes you nervous. Drop the thoughts of worry for there is a colorful life ahead after conquering the dreadful faces of your demons. Read the full article

Trying my best to be more mindful with everything I do, I'm always rushing through life instead of being present and enjoying every little bit of it.
