#Present your evidence {askbox memes}

Yo is there a way to help track potential psyops blogs? I feel like we’ve got to get on that shit ourselves, Tumblr obviously isn’t going to do it.

So I’m going to be tracking debunked posts at @psyops-redux and I think I’m also going to put up a page of people known to spread misinformation (once it’s proven, of course - the reason I felt okay naming those four blogs was because I had such a huge pile of evidence).

What would actually really, really help is for people to send me blogs that they think are suspicious. My askbox is open and I take direct messages - if you think you’ve found a suspicious blog share the link and I’ll put vet it (generally if you send me a link I can let you know pretty quickly whether or not a blog passes my sniff-test but it takes longer to actually compile the data to *prove* it’s an issue and I prefer having proof before making a big public post)

Here are the things to look out for on blogs that you suspect might be psyops:

Unusually high numbers of self-reblogs or re-uploading the same post

Original (so not reblogged) posts are either shared media from other websites (videos, screenshotted tweetstorms, screenshotted news headlines) with minimal commentary from the blogger OR short text postsMinimal interaction with other blogs - they will reblog commentary on their posts or reblog other posts but will not typically engage in a discussion; very VERY few of these blogs answer asks, they don’t have public friendships on tumblr (so they reblog from each other but don’t talk to each other)

Minimal tagging - most posts aren’t tagged and the tags are weird. This is kind of hard to explain but on tumblr tags carry a different weight than they do on other sites and most people who use them will often use them for commentary as well as categorization - these blogs almost never use tags for commentary.They act like meme/brand/dedicated accounts but present themselves as user accounts. That sounds fucking confusing but basically they’re presenting the image of being someone like@biggest-gaudiest-patronuses (a real person who reblogs a variety of memes and aesthetic posts along with original posts and new while interacting with followers and mutuals) but they actually act like @positive-memes (a blog run by mods or someone in the background who does not personally interact with the media they are reblogging or reposting from other sites)I spend a lot of time on lefty tumblr and the blogs that I’ve seen doing this are on lefty tumblr - if anything sounds too ridiculous to be true or if anything sparks outrage that’s probably something worth fact-checking. In particular I’ve seen a pattern of anti-cop posts that I am *tremendously* sympathetic to but that are decontextualized, outdated, or misleading.

There’s one post where @whyyoustabbedme talks about how "wholesome” the Japanese police are in comparison to American police - which ignores a whole bunch of stuff like police brutality in japan, corruption among japanese police, the fact that they sometimes ignore sex crimes, and police intimidation to improve conviction rates.

So yeah, I guess keep an eye out *shrugs*

If it sounds too good/bad/hilarious/awesome to be true it probably is. If something fills you with outrage fact-check it because there are a whole bunch of people who profit off your outrage.

                Having her husband executed, honestly. The two were made for each other, and he was the only one consistently able to keep a cool head. But then, of course, she knows this. She’s in active denial about it, but she knows it.

THE WORLD: What has been your muse's greatest success?

                 The victory of the War of the West. I really need to expand on this sometime, but a few years after her parents had passed and Iracebeth was new on the throne (having had Mirana surrender the title with a mixture of threats, logic, and fear), the country to the West attempted an invasion of Wonderland. With a military force of only the Card Guard she had created and the might of the Jabberwock, Underlandian forces not only won the war but expanded their might into half of the offending country

                      Iracebeth could hardly tell down from up, not that it mattered. In herlong history of assassination attempts, paranoia, and childbirth, theunexpected pain of the beatings was somehow the worst bit of this. She’d nevertaken into account just how dangerous her lover could be, save his jagged edgesperhaps scraping her up a bit – and yet, here she was. Screaming, crying out inpain and shock, desperately trying to roll away.

                       She’d been kicked to the ground, already unstable balance takenadvantage of. It was all wild punches, kicks, occasionally a whack with someblunt object from a nearby table. In her shock, she couldn’t remember what she’dsaid, what she’d done specifically to earn this – her general guiltnotwithstanding, regarding her poor ward.

                                    “TIME!STOP T-TH!” she couldn’t finish her sentence for the blood being spat out ofher mouth – the same shade as her dress, prettily enough. She couldn’t formwords after that – only moans and cries. Even screams died out.

                 Since Time and I made up – somewhat – he’s been around more often. I don’tlike it, least of all because the thought of him in Mirana’s arms issickeningly grasping.

                  Hecame to my chambers today, for once, with an apology for something or another.The man never stops apologizing. I told him he was being stupid and had him fortea.

                  It’sodd having an ex-lover around, given my prior experiences. Particularly giventhe nature of our relationship. That said, I’d certainly rather it be him thanIlosovic.

                  Weonly talked for a while, until he said he was out of himself and left.

            Awkward,stupid as he is, I am grateful for his presence every now and again. I loveRobespierre’s and Mockturtle’s company, but they can both become a bit dreary.

Dear stupid journal,

          Today I meta boy. A man, nearly… He was odd, to say the least. His name was Acheonickolas,the youngest brat from one of the northern dukedoms. It being my birthday, Isulked to make as many people pay attention to me as I could – as always, itdidn’t work. Until a very tall youngman practically glued himself to a window, panting and sweating likeit was midsummer.

         Typically Iwould have ignored him, but he did his best to catch my attention, and…

                     Journal, the idiot asked me to dance.

        Trying toshake him off me, I accepted. I didn’t even trip once.

                    He has hair like wheat in the fall, and absurdly deep blue eyes, thekind that you find in mother’s sapphires. He has a laugh like church bells, andhe does so frequently.

         Later, weescaped to the court yard, and I am more grateful than ever that I’ve enchantedyou to bite anyone else, because journal…

                                I kissed him.

          I couldn’thelp it. He wished me a happy birthday, and he is such an idiot!

            It took a lot tofell a Gyrados - it took even more to make one faint. And though she hadn’tquite met that point, the paralyzed, twitching, electrified monster was veryclose. She held on out of spite - she’d be damned if we was to be captured.

           However, wheneverything went black, the trainer only laughed at her. She’d put up a fight,and she was a shiny - but anything that couldn’t face off against a raichuwasn’t good enough for her.

                Thequeen Gyrados simmered at the bottom of her lake, her rage so palpable that sheboiled the water and made bubbles rise to the surface. For years, she’d beenleft alone to her own devices - the promise of a huge, shiny Gyrados dwarfed bythe threat she posed.

                Butnow, some idiots were muscling in on her territory! Stealing her water, tryingto catch her over and over. Eating them didn’t even seem to deter them!
