Fantasy Premier League tips: Last-minute transfers, bargains, captain picks for FPL GW8 | Football | Sport
Fantasy Premier League tips: Who should you sign ahead of FPL GW8? (Image: GETTY)
Fantasy football bosses have a quick turnaround to the next transfer deadline following a packed week of European football, with form, fixtures and injuries all needing to be assessed ahead of the weekend.
Liverpool continued their superb start to the season with a thrilling, if unconvincing, win over Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday while Raheem Sterling was on target again as Manchester City beat Dinamo Zagreb.
Tammy Abraham also scored for Chelsea against Lille as the striker makes a claim for further investment ahead of a kind schedule, but Fantasy Premier League managers should keep on eye on the upcoming international break.
Injuries and fatigue will influence selection when domestic football returns later this month so consider points hits carefully – but who should you sign and hand the captain’s armband to ahead of this morning’s 11.30am deadline?
Top FPL transfer tips for GW8
DEF: Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea) – £4.6m
The youngster was part of a Chelsea defence that secured a first clean sheet of the season against Brighton on Saturday, with Tomori also helping himself to a bonus point.
With Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger both injured, the 21-year-old is set for an extended run in the side ahead of a kind schedule and will hope for a shutout against Southampton.
MID: Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City) – £8.5m
Pep Guardiola’s rotation roulette struck again last weekend with Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero left on the bench, but Mahrez has played every minute of City’s last two matches.
The Algerian has two goals and two assists in those appearances and could be a cheap, reliable way into the champions’ attack ahead of next weekend’s clash with Wolves.
FWD: Chris Wood (Burnley) – £6.2m
Wood has found his shooting boots in recent weeks with a brace against Norwich and another goal away at Villa.
The New Zealander is still one behind strike partner Ashley Barnes but is ÂŁ0.4m cheaper and should be a threat to Everton from set pieces.
Fantasy Premier League tips: Chris Wood has scored three goals in his past two matches (Image: GETTY)
In-form FPL players for GW8
FWD: Callum Wilson (Bournemouth) – 8.7 form
Wilson continued his remarkable start to the season with another goal against West Ham, meaning he has provided attacking returns in every single match of the campaign.
The England international has five goals in his last four without looking at the top of his game, and it is easy to see that run extending against an unpredictable Arsenal outfit.
MID: Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City) – 9.0 form
De Bruyne is now owned by over 40 per cent of managers after his stellar display against Watford was backed up by two assists against Everton.
However, the playmaker is suffering with a groin injury and remains doubtful of the clash with Wolves.
FWD: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) – 9.0 form
Five goals in his last four matches and seven for the season so far shows Aubameyang is flourishing in Alexandre Lacazette’s enforced absence.
The Gabon striker is something of a flat-track bully and will relish a run of fixtures that sees the Gunners take on Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Wolves in the next four weeks.
Fantasy Premier League tips: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the most in-form players ahead of G (Image: GETTY)
Best-value FPL players for GW8
DEF: Erik Pieters (Burnley) – 6.9 points per million
The Burnley defender is now owned by over 12 per cent of managers after helping himself to his third assist of the campaign last time out against Villa.
The Dutchman has played every minute of the season and will hope for a shut-out against Everton.
FWD: Teemu Pukki (Norwich City) – 7.4 points per million
Pukki is experiencing something of a goal drought after his early flurry of six goals in a blistering start to life in the top flight.
The Finn’s price has raised to £7.2m but he is still great value as a mid-price forward.
DEF: John Lundstram (Sheffield United) – 7.7 points per million
Identified as an excellent pre-season enabler, Lundstram has exceeded all expectations by starting every match and providing a goal and assist for the Blades.
His value has risen accordingly but the Sheffield United ace remains an undisputed bargain.
Fantasy Premier League tips: John Lundstram represents best value for money in FPL this season (Image: GETTY)

IN – 1. Mason Mount (Chelsea) – 166,661
*Values correct as of 03/09/19
Fantasy Premier League tips: Mason Mount is the most signed player this week (Image: GETTY)
Who should I captain in FPL GW8?
Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) vs Brighton & Hove Albion (A)
Tottenham suffered a humiliating 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in midweek but Kane was still on the scoresheet with an unstoppable penalty past Manuel Neuer.
The England captain has five goals in the Premier League without really hitting his stride, but three in his last four suggest momentum is building.
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) vs Leicester City (H)
Salah and his Liverpool team-mates were frustrated for large spells against Sheffield United last weekend and then struggled to find their fluidity against Red Bull Salzburg.
However, Salah still scored twice against the Austrians and will relish the visit of an adventurous Leicester side who are sure to leave some gaps in defence.
TOP CHOICE: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) vs Bournemouth (H)
Arsenal can rarely be relied upon for consistent defensive points in FPL but Aubameyang nearly always delivers, particularly against lesser opposition.
The Gabon striker is something of a flat-track bully and is our top captain pick with Bournemouth in the firing line this weekend.

Sportsmail looks at 10 stars looking to impress in their first seasons in the Premier League
With just a matter of days left for Premier League clubs to complete any last minute deals before the transfer window up close, attention will quickly go to how the new faces will do on the field.
Some have swapped one Premier League club for another – such as Harry Maguire's £ 80 million changeover from Leicester to Manchester United . But for others this is their first campaign in the English top flight.
With that in mind, Sportsmail Takes a look at 10 of the best signatories preparing for their Premier League debut campaigns.
Bosses such as Arsenal & # 39; s Unai Emery hope to add new faces before closing the window
DANIEL JAMES – MANCHESTER UNITED
Make no mistake, Dan James is heading for the new season with a determination to be a winger for Manchester United.
At the age of 21, that seems unlikely, given that he operated at the center of the table last season.
But a full preseason under his belt, where he has regularly received minutes, has put him firmly in the picture before the opener against Chelsea. De Welshman took the role of hero in Cardiff at the weekend with the winning penalty against AC Milan and few will bet that he will influence many games this season.
A couple can tip and a real eye for purpose, James is chewing to get started
There is much excitement about Daniel James after being impressed during the preseason
[1945902] NICOLAS PEPE – ARSENAL
]
Although he may not have been the absolute priority in the eyes of some supporters, Nicolas Pepe will provide real directness and, like James in United, an incredible pace that will keep defenders awake at night .
Club & # 39; s ÂŁ 72 million record record of course carries a heavy burden on its shoulders given the price tag, but it looks sharp and read and to conquer the ground after a solid Africa Cup of Nations campaign with Ivory Coast.
After having scored 35 goals in 74 games for Lille during his two years at the club – 22 of those goals came last season – he will carry a major threat from large areas.
Expected to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Pepe in a Three Behind Alexandre Lacazette. Terrifying prospect.
Arsenal broke their transfer record To secure Nicolas Pepe from Lille in a deal worth ÂŁ 72 million
SEBASTIAN HALLER – WEST HAM
Admittedly, West Ham had something in recent years from a curse on his alerts from major attackers.
] Fans have been marked with 38 strikers since David Gold and David Sullivan took over in January 2010.
Among those 38, only 203 goals were scored in no less than 957 games. And so while the jury will stay out for the time being at the ÂŁ 45m summer that draws from Frankfurt, he seems to have all the attributes to be more than alone in English football.
He should just avoid doing what he did in his home debut against Athletic Bilbao at the weekend – scoring in the wrong net!
West Ham hopes that Sebastian Haller will transfer his form to English football in Germany can transfer
[1945902] RODRI – MANCHESTER CITY ]
It would have been fair to say that improving a team that achieved 198 points in the last two Premier League campaigns would always be difficult. Very heavy indeed. Only the best in the world could do that.
There is no denial of the aging process that certain members of the team go through and sooner or later Pep Guardiola had to find a long-term successor to Fernandinho.
During the pre-season tour of Asia by the club, Guardiola greeted his bright summer arrival as an & # 39; incredible midfielder & # 39 ;.
Those words must be disturbing Jurgen Klopp, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Unai Emery, Frank Lampard, Mauricio Pochettino and the rest of those bosses want to be at the top. Can the champions really get better?!
Pep Guardiola already has a Championship winning side, but saw Rodri as an essential addition
JOELINTON – NEWCASTLE UNITED
Newcastle will shortly be relegated 2/1 this season. The appointment of Steve Bruce was met with a backlash from supporters and the club faced horror from the season with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City all in the first five games.
But fans have a new man to set their hopes and his name is Joelinton. The Brazilian is the club's record at £ 40m and I dare say it – undoubtedly a Fantasy Football jinx – he looks like a player who knows how to make goals and score.
With Newcastle seeing Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez leaving much of the burden for goals will land at the feet of Joelinton. His 11 goals at Hoffenheim just wouldn't be enough.
But since he apparently has the physicality and working speed for the Premier League, Bruce could have pulled the real rabbit out of this hat.
Newcastle easily broke their transfer record this summer by ÂŁ 40m Joelinton [194590014]
acquire CHRISTIAN PULISIC – CHELSEA
No one in West London even needs to express in words how important Eden Hazard was for large parts of last season, because the Blues rally to a top four finish and Europa League success.
But the diminutive Belgian left for the circus in Real Madrid and eats Christian Pulisic, who actually agreed to go back to Chelsea in January – before they were imposed a transfer ban.
The American is only 20 and is adamant that he is not a like-for-like replacement for the departed Hazard, but fans are already enthusiastic about his potential that had an impact in the preseason.
Often switching back and forth as a broad player directly and comfortably, expecting Pulisic to be involved in the promotion. Probably gets started regularly, especially early, with Callum Hudson-Odoi injured.
Christian Pulisic has agreed to move earlier this year and has arrived to fill the emptiness of Eden Hazard
TANGUY NDOMBELE – TOTTENHAM
Former Spurs Striker Dimitar Berbatov told Sportsmail that the Frenchman the & # 39; perfect signing & # 39; is this summer and
Tanguy Ndombele is one of the most efficient and dominant box-to-box midfielders who broke through last season for club and country.
Mauricio Pochettino has picked up an effective ball carrier that will be proactive with and without the ball – and offers more in a deep midfield role than Victor Wanyama or Eric Dier.
In addition to Harry Winks, Spurs were able to out-run, out-run, and pass opponents on their way to success. Ndombele seems to be a smart – and crucial low-maintenance – investment.
A tough tack-box-to- box midfielder is exactly what Tottenham have in Tanguy Ndombele
[1945902] PATRICK CUTRONE – WOLVES
It told you that fans of AC Milan had nothing but kind words for Patrick Cutrone when he was unveiled last week in a Wolverhampton Wanderers shirt
Although his agent admitted that he wanted to stay with the San Siro before the Italian side decided otherwise, regular action alongside someone like Raul Jimenez will be him alone but make a better player.
Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves were devils good for the club last season and their creativity will ensure that Cutrone gets chances – it all comes down to him if he can take them. Three goals from 12 starts for Milan last season make one impression, but his minutes were few and far between and he must be viewed with a clean slate.
Cutrone may be a slow builder, but his quality is undeniable and up to ÂŁ 16m the Italian could still prove one of the steels of the summer.
Wolves were one of the most impressive sides last year and now have Patrick Cutrone added
DANI CEBALLOS – ARSENAL [1945906]
The fact that Real Madrid was completely against Dani Ceballos tells everyone that the Spanish giants see him as a star of the future in white and gold.
For now, he is wearing red and white – for at least one season – and Arsenal fans are well able to get excited about the Spanish U21 star.
Inspired by fellow Spaniards – and former Arsenal stars – Cesc Fabregas and Santi Cazorla, Ceballos will try to continue this beautiful form and show it at the U21 European Championships for Spain this summer.
He could match Mesut Ă–zil as the primary No. 10 if Emery holds on tightly with a 4-2-3-1 this season.
Although only on loan, there are high expectations for Real Madrid & Dani Ceballos at Arsenal
WESLEY MORAES – ASTON VILLA
The new ÂŁ 22m van Aston Villa has faced incredible setbacks in the life of losing his father to nine years and having nine his first child at the age of 15. There is absolutely no chance in a Premier League debut season to phase him.
A lot of skepticism will continue to exist from Belgium, where he represented Club Brugge.
But 17 goals and 10 assists last season, he starts going through the gears. Villa has spent over ÂŁ 130 million this summer to give themselves the best chance of success this season and they need Wesley to act and deliver for a hopeful and anticipated Cavity End at Villa Park.
His goals and achievements in his debut season are likely to be a determining factor in how everything goes for Villa in general.
Aston Villa has splashed the money this summer and hope that Wesley Moraes will deliver the goals

Fantasy Premier League tips: Last-minute transfers, bargains, captain picks for FPL GW6 | Football | Sport
Fantasy Premier League tips: Who will you sign and sell ahead of GW6? (Image: GETTY)
Fantasy football managers have very little time to sort out their squads following a packed week of European action, with GW6 getting underway tonight.
Southampton host Bournemouth at 8pm this evening, just 24 hours after a trio of Premier League clubs kicked off their Europa League group stage campaigns.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Wolves were all in action yesterday while Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City played their first Champions League matches of the season earlier this week.
With so much football to digest and a looming Fantasy Premier League deadline on the horizon, Express Sport have given FPL bosses a helping hand with some last minute tips and hints – so who should you sign and hand the captain’s armband to this weekend?
Top FPL transfer tips for GW6
DEF: Kieran Tierney (Arsenal) – £5.4m
The clash with Watford last Sunday came too soon for Tierney but the Scottish full-back is in training and closing on a Premier League debut.
Unai Emery did not risk Tierney in the Europa League so a home match against Aston Villa on Sunday could provide a perfect opportunity for his first start – if he is fit.
MID: Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) – £9.6m
The South Korean burst back onto the radar of FPL managers with a brace against Crystal Palace last weekend.
A hefty ÂŁ9.5m price tag will put some bosses off but Son plays as a second striker under Mauricio Pochettino and will be well worth the investment, particularly after he was rested against Olympiakos.
FWD: Tammy Abraham (Chelsea) – £7.3m
Abraham’s price has already risen considerably after his hat-trick against Wolves moved him on to seven goals for the campaign.
Sunday’s opponents Liverpool have just a single clean sheet so far this season so the Chelsea striker will fancy his chances of adding another strike next time out.
Fantasy Premier League tips: Tammy Abraham scored a hat-trick last time out against Wolves (Image: GETTY)
In-form FPL players for GW6
MID: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – 10.0 form
Salah wasn’t at his best against Newcastle but still got on the scoresheet in the 3-1 win, taking his season tally four goals already.
The Egyptian failed to fire against Napoli in midweek but will be eyeing a leaky Chelsea defence that has conceded 11 times in five games.
FWD: Tammy Abraham (Chelsea) – 10.2 form
All seven of Abraham’s Premier League goals have come in his last three appearances, showing he has definitely found his feet at Stamford Bridge.
Another striker who failed to find the net in Europe this week, but Liverpool have just one clean sheet so far this campaign so the Chelsea ace will fancy his chances.
FWD: Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) – 11.7 form
Aguero is joint-top in the race for the Golden Boot with seven strikes, including consecutive doubles against Bournemouth and Brighton before his effort against Norwich last week.
The Argentine was given the night off against Shakhtar Donetsk so he should be fully rested when City look to get back to winning ways domestically against Watford.
Fantasy Premier League tips: Sergio Aguero has produced attacking returns in every match this season (Image: GETTY)
Best-value FPL players for GW6
MID: Todd Cantwell (Norwich City) – 5.5 points per million
Victory over Manchester City last week has seen the value of Norwich assets soar, with Cantwell’s goal against the champions significantly boosting his points per million.
Over 23 per cent of managers now own the Canaries playmaker, with his price rising to ÂŁ4.9m.
FWD: Tammy Abraham (Chelsea) – 5.8 points per million
Abraham’s ownership has skyrocketed in recent weeks thanks to his flurry of goals, with the Chelsea frontman having pocketed 42 FPL points already this season.
The Blues striker now costs ÂŁ7.3m but represents excellent value as a guaranteed starter in a traditional top six club.
FWD: Teemu Pukki (Norwich City) – 6.9 points per million
Pukki was back among the goals against City and now has six this season, one behind the likes of Aguero and Abraham.
The Canaries frontman will cost new owners ÂŁ7.1m, but his value cannot be argued with.
Fantasy Premier League tips: Teemu Pukki offers best value for money in FPL (Image: GETTY)
Most-transferred FPL players for GW6
OUT – 5. Martin Kelly (Crystal Palace) – 101,873
OUT – 4. Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) – 107,134
OUT – 3. Ashley Barnes (Burnley) – 114,287
OUT – 2. Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) – 125,502
OUT – 1. Raul Jimenez (Wolverhampton Wanderers) – 141,477
IN – 5. Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) – 183,128
IN – 4. Mason Mount (Chelsea) – 240,318
IN – 3. Todd Cantwell (Norwich City) – 288,251
IN – 2. Teemu Pukki (Norwich City) – 306,003
IN – 1. Tammy Abraham (Chelsea) – 487,669
Fantasy Premier League tips: Abraham has scored seven goals in his past three matches (Image: GETTY)
Who should I captain in FPL GW6?
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) vs Aston Villa (H)
Injury to Alexandre Lacazette has left Aubameyang as Arsenal’s sole natural striker, meaning the Gabon international is almost guaranteed to lead the line against Villa.
Three goals in his last two indicate a man in form, and don’t be surprised if he adds to that tally this weekend.
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) vs Chelsea (A)
Plenty of managers have abandoned Salah in favour of team-mate Sadio Mane, but the Liverpool winger is still matching his strike partner’s output.
Chelsea one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League this season, and the Egyptian should take advantage this weekend.
TOP CHOICE: Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) vs Watford (H)
Aguero was an unused substitute against Shakhtar Donetsk, meaning Pep Guardiola is almost certain to pick the Argentine from the off against Watford.
Attacking returns in every game so far suggest the City frontman is a reliable choice to wear the armband.
Fantasy Premier League tips: Aguero is our top captain pick this weekend (Image: GETTY)

Fantasy Premier League Week 23 Transfers and Tips: Llorente to the rescue
(New post on FreeBetAlerts.com) - https://freebetalerts.com/2019/01/18/fantasy-premier-league-week-23-transfers-and-tips-llorente-to-the-rescue/ #Football, #Freebets, #Tips
Fantasy Premier League Week 23 Transfers and Tips: Llorente to the rescue Please share.
The Premier League title race is coming to the boil and . is backing Liverpool and Man City players to shine in GW23 – with one notable exception though… “Harry Kane’s injury pushes Fernando Llorente onto the six to like list and unless he has a deluge of transfers this week, he could prove to be a great short-term differential.”
Six to likeRaheem Sterling – £11.3m. Picking Manchester City players is proving to be a bit of a minefield of late as none of the big guns are even guaranteed to start, and none of them have been producing big hauls in the last couple of weeks. I can’t ignore Sterling though for City’s clash at Huddersfield. David Wagner has left the John Smith’s Stadium this week, but I can’t see them improving, and City are trying to chase down Liverpool at the top.Marcus Rashford – £7.5m. Ole Gunnar Solskjær has clearly made Marcus Rashford his number one striker and he has repaid his manager with goals. The England man got the only goal of the game at Wembley last Sunday, and he has now scored in his last three Premier League matches. A home fixture against Brighton looks very appealing indeed.Rashford is 6/5 to score anytime. Fernando Llorente – £5.6m. Harry Kane’s injury pushes Fernando Llorente onto the six to like list and unless he has a deluge of transfers this week, he could prove to be a great short-term differential. He scored a hat-trick against Tranmere in the FA Cup, and while that obviously isn’t too much to shout about, it does prove his sharpness in front of goal. He should get plenty of chances at Craven Cottage on Sunday.A repeat of his FA Cup hat-trick is priced up at 35/1. Xherdan Shaqiri – £7.1m. The Reds are at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday and it looks likely that Shaqiri will get the nod in midfield. Jurgen Klopp has been favouring the Swiss international more and more as the season progresses, and with James Milner set to be fielded at left-back, the competition in midfield is reduced. Shaqiri both scores and assists, and he’s aided by his share of set-pieces.Felipe Anderson – £7.3m. Felipe Anderson did us plenty of favours towards the end of 2018 and I feel like the time is right to bring him back in from the cold. The Hammers put a couple if in-different league performances behind them last week to beat Arsenal, and while Anderson wasn’t involved in the goal, he continues to look dangerous. His team are away at Bournemouth this week, and the Cherries give their opponents plenty of time and space on the ball. The Brazilian could well take advantage.Sol Bamba – 4.5m. I have to leave Sol Bamba in the six to like this week following his eight point haul against Huddersfield. Cardiff are away this weekend – which normally doesn’t bode well for them – but they are playing Newcastle, and the Magpies don’t score many goals. It’s also worth noting that Rafa Benitez’s side had to play 120 minutes in the FA Cup during the week. The Bluebirds are 11/4 to keep a clean sheet on Tyneside. The PuntJamie Vardy – 8.9m. The reason why Vardy is a bit of a punt at present is because Leicester have suffered some shocking results of late, and Claude Puel is a manager under pressure. What I like about them this week however is that they are away from home, which will suit their counter-attacking style. Wolves will play their usual game, which means Vardy should get plenty of space, and the hosts could be tired from being ran ragged by Man City on Monday – in a game that they had to play with 10 men for the most part. He’s DueEden Hazard – £11.1m. No change in the He’s Due section this week as I’m keeping Eden Hazard in there. He did get an assist in the 2-1 win over Newcastle, but he didn’t find the net himself. Chelsea are at Arsenal on Saturday evening, and the Belgian must be relishing the prospect of going up against a Gunners defence that conceded five against Liverpool and three against Southampton.Hazard is 5/1 to score first at the Emirates. Two to avoidGabriel Jesus – £10.1m. It’s hard to knock Jesus’ recent output as he scored twice against Wolves on Monday and four against Burton in the game prior. The returning figure of Sergio Aguero looks large though and I’m not convinced that Guardiola won’t start the Argentinian over the Brazilian. Jesus will always play second fiddle to Aguero for the time-being, and I wouldn’t want a £10.1m striker in my squad who will miss more minutes than he plays.Callum Wilson – £6.5m. The Cherries striker retains a large ownership in the FPL game, but if you haven’t ditched him already, it’s time to do so now. Bournemouth are out of form anyway, and Wilson keeps picking up little niggly injuries. He isn’t guaranteed to be fit for the West Ham match, and even if he is, all of the transfer talk could unsettle him.If you think I’m wrong though, back him at even money to score. Captain’s pickMohamed Salah – £13.4m. The stand-out captain’s pick this week is Mohamed Salah. Liverpool are taking on Palace at home and the joint top Premier League scorer could be set to fill his boots against Roy Hodgson’s side. In their last three games at home, Liverpool have put three past Manchester United, scored four against Newcastle, and netted five against Arsenal. Salah is good for assists as well as goals, and as he’s still classified as a midfielder, he gets an extra point per goal, and a point for a clean sheet too.The Egyptian is 13/5 to score two or more this weekend.
