Been playing Rune Factory 4 for the last two weeks.

It's one of those games where it's like "yeah the gameplay is really, really fun and I love a lot of things about it and I sunk about 45 hours into it BUT also the writing is being way too mean to this effeminate fat guy and made "fat guy flirts with you and it's gross" a running gag so it's hard to casually recommend to my friends".

So as I was going through the Buddy Battle Festival in RF4S, I got curious to see what monsters each npc has. Since I wasn't able to find an actual list someone else made for it, I reset the festival and wrote down what each character has. I also made note on which ones have names.

This is a difficult question since I love most of the RF cast!! 😔 Out of all the games, I'm not a very big Monica (RF3) fan since I don't like getting bitten. She's not bad, but I'm not very attached to her.

RF1 - Lukas (I like hopeless romantics who are occassionally cringe)

RF2 - Max (he's blonde w/ long hair and a little pompous... hits most of the marks for me)

My favorite is the Firefly Festival because the characters always say some really cute shit and I can’t help but grin stupidly at my screen when I review the events.

My least favorite is the Squid Catch Festival in RF4. I like all the other fishing festivals but I don't like being restricted to just squid because it's hard and if I catch one regular fish it's over lol... maybe I need to change my strat 🤔

I read your crossover ideas with RF4 and Star Wars and I am psyched! So much in common that I never thought about!

I know, right? Even just goofing around with the AU there are so many places to make things fit in with RF characters.

Part of that maybe I can chalk up to Star Wars just being a great sandbox to play in, but the common points are still there if I wanted to just completely rewrite the stories.

I've decided in the AU that someone needs to have the Iconic Princess Leia Cinnabuns hair. And I have also decided to bequeath this honor to Porcoline. He deserves the most delicious of hairstyles!

Even outside of the AU, just doing fun character swaps for the heck of it is delightfully entertaining. I definitely didn't start figuring out who plays who after I made a joke in my head of Arthur taking the place of Princess Leia in the OT. Or of course... there's the obvious Princess Freya swap to also make. Still haven't made up my mind who get to be Chewie in the OT cast swapping, tho lmao

The possibilities are endless! It's just too much fun!

zoro and kae have a wonderfully relaxing day. if we pretend i don’t have to go to work, we sleep in—but not too late—because i love breakfast food! we probably order in for breakfast and he makes me coffee just the way i like it. acts of service is my love language, so it’s the little gestures that mean the world to me. he gets me a bouquet of flowers (lilies because they’re my favorite) and ensures i don’t have to do any labor for the day. if he’s being extra silly, he will insist on carrying me around because “the birthday girl shouldn’t have to walk.” we might take a lil trip to the park or (if we live on the coast) the ocean. dinner is somewhere low key but delicious! when we get home, he makes me a drink and sets up a candlelit bath for us both. after that, i do our skincare, and we snuggle up on the couch for some reading, video games, and maybe a studio ghibli movie! we have drinks and maybe some gluten free cake and snacky snacks. and to wrap up the night we have spine tingling, toe curling sex that leaves me sore for days make love <3

Star's Rune Factory 3 Special 1st Playthrough, Part 2: Quality of Life

Hello, everyone! Back at it again with blogging my first run of Rune Factory 3 Special and I have a lot to talk about since my last post.

So I've already beaten the second boss AKA Skelefang and the seasons are just about to change from spring to summer. As far as the cast goes, I've already got some characters that I love, some that I despise, and some who my opinions have shifted over time for better or for worse. Definitely the two that stand out for me are Shara and Gaius. Gaius, had he been a datable bachelor, would have been my first choice among the single boys in this game. I'm one of the fandom's resident Arthur simps, I married Martin during my one playthrough of RF5, and "dwarf blacksmith who loves forging so much he forgets to sell his weapons and falls asleep if he lets go of his hammer" meets all the standards that those two have set as some of the franchise's resident workaholics. (Why does this keep happening? Seriously?)

As for Shara, I'm very well aware of all the hate she got in the past for having been pushed as the game's canon candidate and with what I've seen so far... I absolutely love her. Of the available bachelorettes, her personality is by far the least quirky and most down to earth of the girls, and she is just so sweet and kind that one of the only other girls I do find myself interested in romancing is Sakuya. Sakuya is slightly more quirky, but compared to some of her fellow bachelorettes, her personality is probably the most "normal" outside her capitalist tendencies and lack of cooking skills.

And that is the big thing with RF3's cast for me. While RF4 certainly had its quirkier cast members like Porcoline and Illuminata, there are even more of them in RF3 and most in game days I find myself feeling very overwhelmed because many of the villagers are so out there. Even if I don't actually dislike their personality, there are some characters I talk to very sparingly because they're literally too much for me. Prime examples include Marian, Carmen, Sofia, Sherman, and Carlos. Of those, the one I like most is Carmen, but I still find myself not talking to her that much simply because I can't handle how loud she is, which sucks since she seems nice otherwise. (As an aside, I also like Kuruna, but the second I heard that she and Ondorus were childhood friends, my brain went in Directions because I am a sucker for Childhood Friends to Lovers LMAO)

Speaking of comparisons between RF3 and RF4, I do feel awful. I have a fair number of criticisms of RF3S from a gameplay standpoint, but pretty much all of them relate to missing Quality of Life features that were addressed later on in RF4. Stuff like depositing items in the shipping bin, crafting multiples of the same item, the request system, the lack of a fertilizer bin; RF4 ultimately fixed all those minor yet aggravating problems, so claiming that RF3 is the inferior game just because it's lacking those important QoL features, to me, feels very unfair, even if it is affecting my play experience. RF3S, outside those missing QoL features, plays very similarly to RF4S and has a lot of the same features, and whether the story and cast appeal to you is a matter of personal opinion. Overall, it's a solid game and I would recommend it to people who are curious as to how the older Rune Factory games played!

All that said, the biggest thing that has already killed RF3S for a lot of people is the representation; many people have chosen not to buy RF3S because there is no female protagonist option, no datable bachelors, and no same sex marriage, and you know what? It's a perfectly valid reason. As a straight cis woman, my biggest gripe with RF3S is not being able to play as a girl and I'm pretty sure the only reason I'm able to put up with it is because I'm painfully used to it as someone who grew up in an era where the vast majority of game protagonists were straight men. It does help that Micah, much like Frey/Lest and Alice/Ares, has an actual personality and so I don't need to come up with one for him just to enjoy his story or any of his potential romances. He's just a friendly sheep boy trying to put up with the insanity that is the town of Sharance and I 100% vibe with that.

All right, next area is the windy river place. Unfortunately, I have a lot of skills I need to work on, facilities to upgrade, and items to gather. I'm probably going to be grinding for quite a while...

Oh this is so cute fsdhfj so actually in Selphia (where Vishnal and I live!) there is a restaurant! it's like the only place to get food tbh but we love going there to get some food~ The guy who runs it is named Porcoline and he's a sweetheart and a good friend of both of us! ✨

I usually pay, even tho Vishnal insists on it~ I always poke fun at him and tell him it's no big deal though 😊 In RF4 you play as a character who essentially becomes the princess of the town, and through your farm and building up the town you get some good money so I'm like... the hotshot princess who def has enough money for lunch, so don't worry about it Vishnal~ 💖

Okay, just some Rune Factory 4 things for now

I can see Margaret eventually being the one to ask Forte out, since Margaret seems like someone who would say what’s on her mind and isn’t afraid to say how she feels. Margaret feels safe with Forte, and Forte feels stronger around Margaret. They talk and grow closer until they are able to decide what to do next. 

Doug and Dylas are rivals to lovers for sure. It doesn’t click how much they actually care about each other until Doug gets badly injured in the second arc of the game. After that whole mess, they’re basically inseparable. Dylas definitely worries about Doug a lot, but he’s willing to give him space and such. Also can and will call Doug out on his bullshit. Doug does the same for Dylas and they just end up closer until eventually they get married. Dylas probably opens his own restaurant or takes over for Porcoline. 

As for everyone else, I can see a few relationships clicking and making sense, but they are so much less concrete.

I could see Arthur ending up with a few different people, or even in a polycule. Leon could be a good match, starts with the usual teasing and friendly banter until they grow to enjoy each other’s company more and more. Then it’s just the logical next step to Arthur. Another one would be Dolce, and that just cuz I can see her sitting in his office as a quiet place for her to do her sewing/knitting/embroidery while Arthur does paperwork. Mutual respect for each other then grows into a nice little friendship where they have tea and breakfast in the early morning before Porcoline opens the restaurant fully. Then it’s again, the logical next step. The three of them together also makes sense, just following a similar path where Leon jokes and teases both of them, and then it progresses. 

Amber I’m very unsure about, but maybe it would be cute if she was with Kiel? Something about exploring the world together and going on their own type of adventure.

For Clorica, Xiao Pai, and Vishnal I really have no idea who would fit for them. Like, I guess I could see the three of them together? But I couldn’t tell you how that would go. The more I play Rune Factory 5 tho, I could see some of them getting together with the characters from Rune Factory 4. I’ll have to play the game more to tell for sure tho.

Revy Vs Yut Lung black lagoon crossover

Revy bangs on Yut Lung's manor door “ Hey little prince open the dam door, or I’ll return with the fucking papers! Your pasty ass will be plastered across every goddam tabloid!” 

“ Maybe we should try a more diplomatic approch” Rock suggested. 

The door opens to reveal one of Yut Lung’s useless men Revy shoves past them and in the direction of the living room, only to find Yut Lung laying out on the living room floor. Rock hurries over to him and checks his vitals. “ Only passed out” he said with relife. 

Revy plucks the flowers  out of a vase and pours the water on Yut Lung’s face. 

He jolts awake screaming hysterically. 

Revy is about to make a crack but the utter panic in his voice stops her. She knows that scream she’s hear it internally for the past several years. 

“ W,....what  where Am i…?” 

“ Where do you think, you drank enough alcohol to drown the city, dumbass!” Revy sneered. 

“ Oh its you two” Yut Lung groaned. 

“ Its a good thing you woke up, I was about to start looting your shit” 

“ Fine, take what you want” Yut Lung said 

Revy feels anger, all this money and the little fucking brat doesn’t appreciate any of it! 

“ I don’t recall sending either of you an invitation” 

“ Well, cocksucker i’m here to make your day….for a limited time you can hire me. And since your The underworlds special little prince. I’m changing you extra. ” Revy picks up an expensive looking vase. “ You could throw in some family heirlooms to cut costs. Almost everything in this fucking room is worth millons” 

Yut Lung frowned at her  “ Do you even know what that is?” 

“ I know collectors would pay a shit ton of money!” 

“ Ming porcolin a substance that had affects on the cermaimics of other countries such as Britan and Japan” Rock cut in. 

“ You know about Chinese art?” Yut Lung looks surprised. 

“ I was with an international trading company” Rock states. 

“ Indeed, this specific piece is highly prized considering it was under the Mongol rulers of the Yuan Dynasty 1215 to 1368” 

Revy is ready to go crazy with boredom. “ Yeah well all, I need to know is how fat a prize tag to put on it. Do I look like i give a fuck about your cultural  heritage?” 

“ Its your culture too, Revy” Yut Lung informs her slyly. 

Revy’s hackles raise  “ Its a bunch of bullshit! These things were bought and showcased because someone gave them value. Otherwise its just another ugly vase” 

Yut Lung glared at her  “ I really hate people like you, those who only see the world covered in price tags” 

“ Fuck you! You gonna lecture me caring about money, as you lounge on your silk sheets! You’ve never had to pick though garbage in your entire life! And even if you did. You’d just have your servants dig though it for you!” 

Yut Lung slapped her across the face, Revy was too shocked to feel the sting at first. Then one thought sprang to mind I’m gonna kill that little brat! 

Rock grabs and holds her back. 

“ You know how half this stuff was paid for!” Yut Lung brandishes the vase“ Bodies cold and warm ones” 

Rock doesn’t even flinch. 

“ You lecture me for not caring. None of this money….is mine….I was just the equivalent exchange. But what would a pirate care you never think about who your transporting only what” 

Revy suddenly finds herself unable to say a word. 

“ Yes the world is  hell…..but you have no right to look down on anyone who tries to assign any type of value to something beyond how much it costs! You might think senementality is ridiculous…. But someone who takes wifes from their children, and children from their families and fathers and brothers from those who care for them forever.  Has no right to spit in the faces of others!” 

His eyes are cold accusing. 

“ You think your better then me” 

“ i’m just as much of a monster as you. However a whore like myself  will always despise a human trafficker whether I have the right or not. Its cann’t be helped.”  he flips his hair. 

“ You think I need this from a fucking drunk!” Revy shouts. The image of spattering the little princes brains across the wall springs into her head. But she resists the urge, she has to let Rock save him. He’s the first one her dumbass has shown interest in and if he can save someone as cynical as this kid….then that means there’s still hope. 

 Even if she has to put up with this…..why does she care about his words? Revy never gave a shit about transporting people before. It was just another  job, why is she so angry at him for bringing it up? 

“ I maybe garbage but unlike half your men, I can hold a gun properly.! Give me a fucking break You swallowed your own brothers cum to survive …..so you’ll definately hire a filthy pirate to protect your tight ass” Revy pauses drinking in the resignation on Yut Lungs face. “ Face it brat….i’m your only option” 

Then the door opens. 

“ hello, I here for job!” called  a cheery voice

“ You gotta be fucking kidding me!” Revy exclaimed
