Left to my own devices for the evening, I took a Lyfte to the Sour Cellars where I had two flights of the most wonderful beer. Also in the house was a beautiful bulldog called hopper and a very small silky furred pup of no particular breed. I asked Brian (owner) if there were good eats in walking distance. He sent me on a half mile walk to Los Jalapeños to get tacos de buche (tripe.) The evening was cool and not a single bug in sight so I decided to walk 45 minutes to return to our daughter's place.

On the way I saw people crowded around a pop up taco stand with meat being carved off a vertical spit. There was a festival atmosphere and I was a bit sad I was too full to try some street food.

12. Chaos

“Heyyyyyy!!!!” Luna bounced inside the Mansion and was met with her parents sitting in the living room, hunched over the coffeetable. “What are you doing?”

“Hey Luna?” Monica greeted her. “We’re doing some planning.”

“Planning for what?” Luna sat of the couch next to Miguel. 

“Ana told me that some charity foundation that her friend is a huge benefactor off is holding a bakesale,” Monica explained, “So, we signed up for it. It’s for a good cause.” 

“What kind of cause?” Luna questioned. She didn’t know that Ana had other friends other than Mora, but no one could know everything.

“For cancer research and support of families suffering from cronic ilnesses.” Miguel responded, “Al the proceeds go to help those families suffering.” 

“Oh well, that’s great!” Luna practically bounced up from the sofa, “What can I do? I wanna help!” 

“You think you have time?”

“Of course,” Luna assured, “I always have time. So what can I do? What can I bake?”

“Erm…” Monica and Miguel exchanged few glances, “You could come and help us at the actual sale in the charity event… We were thinking of hiring some people, but you can also join us.”

“UUuuuuuuuu, I can decorate the table!” Luna jumped up again in the excitement. She grabbed her phone and started scrolling through the pinterest. “We could put bows on the table… uuuu, and buch of glitter. I should call Jazmin, she might have some ideas!”

“A bake sale?” Nina’s voice rang from Luna’s phones speaker. 

“Yeah, apparently some rich people who your Mom knew are holding one for some charity.” 

“Well, Mom knows a lot of people so I can’t really tell you who,” Nina was just shrugging when Luna turned the call into a videocall. “but it’s probably for a important cause then.”

“Yep! And I am helping them!” Luna exclaimed as she sat down on the floor.

“Are you baking?” Nina asked, raising a eyebrow at Luna. 

“Nope,” Luna shook her head, “I wanted to, but Mom and Dad told me that it would help more if I helped them at the actual sale.”

Luna had bunch of different colored ribbons in front of her. Next to the she had glue, glitter and glitter glue. 

“I though I’d make some bows,” Luna showed Nina the ribbons. 

“Do you know how to make bows?” 

“I think so…” Luna looked at the ribbons, “I can’t be that hard right.”

She wrapped the ribbon around her fingers and tied another ribbon around it… Then you should probably add glue. Gluestick probably wouldn’t work… MODPODGE IT WAS!!!!

Luna grabbed the bottle of glue and squeezed the glue around where she was holding the bow onto place. 

“Isn’t that little too much glue?” Nina asked though the phone. 

“No, I don’t think so.” Luna shook her head, “I gotta make sure it holds. So what color glitter should I use, since the bow is pink?” 

“I am not the best with color matching,” Nina shook her head, “But I guess silver could work.”

“Yeah, I think so too,” Luna nodded and picked up the glitter bottle and decapped it. “Ugh…”

Luna had tried to pull the bow off her fingers, but they were stuck! 

“I’m stuck!!” She said to Nina who was still watching her antics throught the phone. “I can’t get it off!”

“You probably glued your fingers together or something,” Nina suggested, “Look, I’m sorry, but I am starting to be late so I need to go.” 

“Yeah, bye!!” Luna kept her eyes at the bow. How was she supposed to get it off? 

She stared at the bow for good five minutes before sliding her other hand’s finger under the bow and pulled. The bow moved a littel bit. So this was working. Luna pulled harder and the bow moved again—Luna also managed to spill almost all the glitter of the bottle she had been holding. She hadn’t noticed she was still holding it. 

Finally Luna pulled the bow again and it finally popped off her fingers. 

“Luna are you here?” Ambar showed up at the door suddenly, “Monica said you’d be… What happened here?”

“I was talking to Nina and making bows,” Luna explained while brushing some glitter off her face. Ambar was still staring at her blankly. “And the bow got stuck on my finger, so I needed to pull and spilled the glitter… I need to make  more of these for the bake sale. Do you wanna help?”

“I… I think I’ll pass,” Ambar still looked very confused, “You’re gonna make more after it got stuck?”

“Yes, now as I have a method,” Luna nodded, “I’ll just need to be more careful with the glitter.”

“Well, good luck to you…” Ambar turned on her heels on the door. 

I think we have all learned not to let Luna lose in the kitchen... Or that what you'd think

That's so interesting! I've looked up what both of the Physician's names means, the L name being "Light" and the C name "from the Heavens" or simply "Heavenly", so your choices compliment each other very well. It also relates to her character since the people dying from the plague may seem her as a Heaven's sent.(though drinking blood or consuming flesh is far from heavenly😷).

It definitely came naturally to me, yes - very organically. I only had some hour to come up with the short story when I got the 'write a vampire story'-prompt, so it just popped up in my head. I didn't expect to actually make a big thing of it back then, though, but I'm very happy that I did. I'm having a lot of fun with it!

Your question hasn't been answered in the game, no - and even if it had... well, the game is 400 000 words long, I would never expect anyone to remember everything, so even if it had been answered, I wouldn't have minded answering it again - so no need to apologise, if you're curious about something, don't hesitate to ask, it's all good!

As far as I'm aware, it's quite random, what becomes of one's cravings, what one's body needs. I think there are things that nudges a person in a certain direction; namely, what happened as one got fed upon might increase the chance for a certain craving. If the main character is a cannibal, the Physician mentions their flesh as she talks about their disease with them, but if they are a vampire, she mentions their blood instead. This isn't fool-proof, though, since Roswhen, who's cause for almost-death was decidedly bloody, became a cannibal, and I would say that Elan's disorder affected his flesh more than his blood, even though he had been bleeding a rather vast amount.

As a little bonus, I once noticed that when it comes to the current love interests, more phlegmatic and melancholic people are vampires, and more sanguine and choleric people are cannibals. Nothing I thought about as I wrote them, there were other reasons for me to pick their cravings, but it was a fun little find, even though it means nothing in the long run since every main character is different.

from fine (pronounced FEEN-UH) comes "coasting", a mysterious blend of trip-hop and dream pop. it sounds like the languid gaze of concealed emotion. fine is nebulous with desire; she delivers a tremulous kind of anticipation for love. "coasting" is the follow-up to lead single "days incomplete", my personal addiction off the album, and a hushed song of uncertainty and longing. go on a relaxing stroll with this album. look at some ducks in a pond, or cross a hill in a park. walk around your city and see your loved one behind every corner and on every bar stool.

from molina and avant-pop luminary ml buch, "organs," arrives like a resounding hearbeat. the melody of the song is elastic, it rebounds like a pulse. moody, springy synth pads and hybrid organic-electronic drums fuel a tune that investigates the function of organs and the inexplicably obscure. i felt like this song spoke to my insides, called to the beat my body sets for itself. the synthetic strings made for an unfamiliar but comforting listen every time--give it a listen on the morning commute, or better yet, on a night time bike ride. set your pace, and hear "organs" match it. (molina's debut album is set to arrive in three days !!)

ramona lisa has been around for a long time. she's been my autumn girl for the last two years, but arcadia's been walking me to the tram for the last week. "izzit true what they tell me?" is a song about uncertainty, doubt, the idea of trust. though it unfolds like plainsong question? no answer, it devolves into a wintry electronic soundscape: some pretty sickly a.g cook vibes. in the end, she is lost to her question, ambient cicadas rise to answer her plea. the album is dreamy and ethereal to be sure, but it is punctuated by textured melodies for caroline to float on. experience this album if you're into the experimental and mythological, the uncanny valley of cinematic sound. listen to this with headphones, maybe surrounded by candlelight and some sort of handcraft. let her transport you

so klarity's trance-like goth gaze spins melodies of forlorn devotion. her sounds are totally stoner-grunge-panoptic-sensuality-corrupted-beauty-chic. i love listening to this album in the darkened fall, but more specifically in a partially emptied bathtub. whisper your secrets into the water, watch them disappear. don't forget to play volume 1 softy from your old ipod touch.

world of work is (first of all, don't read my review of this, go on pitchfork or smth) musically, it's wondrous-- a tumbling rush of beautiful and terrifying chords, medieval melodic lines, modern production playfulness, 70s folk, and a good number of genuinely jawdropping sonic flourishes, many of which involve a recording of bells from a church she appears to enjoy hanging out in for reasons that extend beyond mere gothicism. i don't think i could describe the sound of guitar and classical piano fusing anyway. listen to it on the floor or your room. do not move. listen.

A Song I've Been Thinking About Lately

Recently, vaporwave producer, label owner & curator christtt put out a new DJ mix called BIZMIX002. It's the second in a series of subscriber-exclusive DJ mixes from artists on his label business casual. Opening it was this slowed down version of a song by Dane producer & singer/songwriter ML Buch. It's called Can't Get Over You With You and ever since I heard it, it's been in rotation quite frequently.

It's not a new song, this is from her debut album that's celebrating four years of existence this year and while I haven't gotten to that myself, I do look forward to it, because this song is… Well, it's a lot of things, but it's not a lot at the same time. It's an art pop song composed with minimal beats & elegant church-like synths carried alongside Marie's singing about her boundaries during a breakup.

As a song, it feels very solemn, but in a way that's both minimalistic, beautiful and strangely ominous. Because this is a breakup song, she frames it as though she's very emotionally distant whilst being shaken up about this whole ordeal. The dark low-end synths all over the chorus portray this feeling of dread looming over the entire song and it's very potent to me. It's that secret feeling visible behind the emotional shield and it's not a happy one.

I don't suppose this song or album will be for everybody, it's already one of the more underrated cuts I'm seeing from an outside view of the album it's from, but it certainly struck a chord with me and you can probably expect it on the next MusicDeclanLikes playlist, so check it out.

Im Urlaub Surfen lernen - Wenn ein Traum in Erfüllung geht

Sich den Traum vom Surfen zu erfüllen - das haben sich schon einige vorgenommen, aber bei uns wird dieser Traum tatsächlich auch in die Tat umgesetzt. Für die meisten beginnt der Prozess schon lange bevor sie überhaupt das Wasser berühren. Man lernt zu allererst etwas über die Ausrüstung, die verschiedenen Arten von Boards, die richtige Technik und Sicherheitsvorkehrungen. Vorfreude ist ja bekanntlich die schönste Freude. Sobald man das erste Mal auf dem Brett steht, spürt man die Herausforderung. Es erfordert Geduld, Gleichgewicht und Ausdauer, um die Wellen zu meistern. Gut, dass unsere Coaches allen tatkräftig mit viel Energie, Motivation und vor allem ganz viel Spaß zur Seite stehen.Den Traum des Surfens zu erfüllen ist nicht nur eine sportliche Leistung, sondern eine Reise der Selbstentdeckung, des Wachstums und der Erfüllung.

In dieser Woche hatten wir eine beträchtliche Anzahl von Surf-Neulingen, die sich erst einmal mit den Wellen und dem Ozean vertraut machen mussten. Einige sind noch nie auf einem Brett gestanden und einige mussten ihre Grundkenntnisse nochmal auffrischen. Doch mit jeder Session und jedem Pop-Up wurden sie selbstbewusster und am nächsten Tag klappte es dann direkt viel besser. Vom ersten Paddeln bis hin zu den ersten erfolgreichen Versuchen, auf dem Brett zu stehen. Am Ende der Woche konnten viele schon tatsächlich auf dem Brett stehen. Und der ein oder andere konnte schon ins nächste Surflevel heraufgestuft werden. 

Im Urlaub Surfen lernen - In den Kursen

Ab Mitte der Woche war unser Beginner Kurs mal wieder sehr belebt. An der Mädels-Front hat sich tatsächlich aber nicht sehr viel verändert. Daniel - unser lonely warrior hat sich zwischen den Girls dennoch sehr wohlgefühlt. Obwohl die Wellen diese Woche ziemlich viel Strömung mit sich brachten haben sich alle wacker geschlagen und die Wellen mal liegend und mal stehend souverän abgesurft.An unserem Intermediate Spot teilten sich Christian und Christian nicht nur den selben Namen, sondern auch die ein oder andere Partywelle. Die Bedingungen waren vor Allem am Anfang der Woche traumhaft: kleine Wellen, auf denen man wunderbar üben konnte.

today, exactly 2 months before i turn 25

kalau-kalau ditanya, apa aja yang terjadi di tahun 2022. gue yakin semua orang akan bilang banyak. kalau-kalau ditanya, apa perasaan yang dirasa di tahun 2022. gue juga yakin semua orang juga akan bilang campur aduk.

dua statement diatas sejatinya juga gue rasain, banyak yang terjadi, perasaan yang dirasain juga macem-macem.

tapi lagi-lagi, i survived. lagi-lagi, i can get through it all.

dari cari kerjaan full time setelah lulus kuliah apoteker, dari dapet kerjaan full time pertama setelah lulus kuliah apoteker, dari perubahan status sahabat terdekat dari lajang ke menikah, dari gue yang bertanya-tanya hidup gue mau dibawa kemana, dari gue yang ternyata tumor payudara lagi, dari gue yang belajar bahwa bohong adalah hal yang sangat salah, i fucking survived.

hari ini, tepat 2 bulan sebelum gue genap berumur 25 tahun. i went to Bajawa to have some me time (well.. while i wait for my sister’s surgery) dengan mencoba menuangkan yang gue rasakan pada tulisan kali ini sambil minum kopi caramel machiatto kesukaan gue dan denegerin lagu Bruno Major yang udah berkali-kali gue ulang.

gue mencoba memikirkan satu per satu momen-momen yang gue lewatin selama 2022, atau tepatnya--selama gue berumur 24 tahun.

and yes, i found myself--who is always took transjakarta to office everyday--daydream a lot (actually.. it is more like making a lot of scenarios in my head). it was fun, and was something that keeping myself alive. i know.. it sounds cliche.

tapi iya, ternyata, selama tahun ini, dengan banyaknya waktu yang sebenernya lebih banyak gue habiskan untuk bekerja (well.. yang menurut gue kerja adalah kegiatan yang super template), gue membangun kondisi dimana gue bisa bener-bener bisa memikirkan diri gue sendiri dan stay present--by daydreaming a lot while i commute.

dan setelah ditelaah lagi, ternyata gue juga banyak menghabiskan waktu gue dengan orang terdekat dan tersayang di tahun ini.

i spent a lot of my weekends by hanging out with mama papa teteh aa kak buche kak kiki kyna and eisha, i also spent some of my weekends with my closest friends, of course one of them is my favorite wisam. oh! whoops.. i also spent few weekends to do a secret adventure with my alter-ego too.

ada beberapa momen yang gue rasa super hangat adalah disaat gue bisa lihat fia & faisal yang (akhirnya!!) menikah, nonton documentary Jeffrey Dahmer sekeluarga (yes i know this shit kinda weird right), pergi ke curug untuk jalan-jalan sekeluarga walau air curugnya sangat deras yang menyebabkan gue--yang cupu ini--memilih untuk minum teh hangat aja, pergi ke taman suropati sama karin yusran dengan bekal kopi tuku literan, pajamas party sama shei tita tiksi fira dan caca, ketemu sahabat-sahabat wisam dengan karaoke sampai pagi, nongkong setelah pulang kerja sama teteh wina, dan juga.. bridal shower caca.

shit.. by remembering all those moments make my heart warm. 

ternyata benar adanya, kadang rejeki bukan cuma tentang uang, tapi tentang hal-hal yang ada disekitar kita yang contohnya adalah orang-orang didalam hidup kita itu sendiri.

i actually still afraid about what will happen next. what will pops up. what will life brings.

tapi.. dengan menghitung mundur 2 bulan ini, gue akan mencoba untuk bersiap dengan segala macam keadaan dan kemungkinan yang akan terjadi. kalau-kalau 24 tahun ini banyak hal yang terjadi dan campur aduk perasaan yang gue rasain tapi hasilnya.. i survived. gue yakin kedepan pun, gue pasti bisa bertahan dan ngejalanin hal-hal yang terjadi di hidup gue.

ok first of all, i NEED you to know how loudly i cackled when i saw this. my neighbors banged on the wall. it was Funny.

alex kerner is a good kisser. like, 8/10 i think. very soft and sweet, a lot of quick pecks on the corner of your mouth. he loses points bc his breath always smells/tastes like either beer or cigarettes which like is a Vibe sometimes but also no chew some gum you bastard. i feel like his mom would get a kick outta her baby boy being all mushy for someone, and alex would kiss you real quick and his mom just smiles at yall.  and holding hands with alex is Good. his hand is warm and his palm is a little rough from working on the tv dishes and all, but if yall are out at night, he’ll hold your hand to cross the street and if it was cold he would hold your hand and bring it to his mouth and warm up your fingers with his breath. sometimes though if he’s a little tipsy or high, he’ll tickle your palm with his middle finger and refuse to let go while you squeal with laughter

andrea marowski is a sweetie, and that translates to his kisses. back in his time, pda was like kinda frowned upon, so he doesnt kiss you a lot in public. but he kisses you All The Time at home. in the kitchen together making dinner, he’d press a kiss to your cheek; listening to the radio at night, he’s peppering kisses on your face. for some reason, i think his lips are really soft, and he tastes very good. dont know why. i just get the feeling.  and baby andy loves to hold hands. he’s ALWAYS holding your hand. his fingers are calloused from years of violin and like a little dry from the rosin he uses (bc that shit is drying as HELL) so it’s like holding hands with a paper bag, but he’ll squeeze your hand every so often. he likes to hold hands when he’s sitting next to you on the sofa and reading. if he has a bad dream, he’ll subconsciously grab your hand in his sleep. he also likes to stroke his thumb over your knuckles. he’s into kissing your hand a lot too. 

niki lauda is just,,, sigh. he won’t ever kiss you in public unless like it’s a press conference and he HAS to, but sometimes if you beg enough he’ll roll his eyes and kiss your lips. this is another one where he loses points bc his breath always smells/tastes like cigarettes, but it’s the 70s so he gets a pass. his Really Good kisses are after a race when he comes in first place and is on top of the world and feels like a king, he’ll pop the champagne and draw you in tight to him and just plant a huge kiss on your lips, and he smells like petrol and exhaust and his upper lip is all sweaty but he’ll REALLY go for it and like press his tongue into your mouth and dip you bc he’s just so pleased holding niki’s hand is a privilege, completely. and i don’t mean that like “you have to earn it”, i mean that like “wow this is great and i’m so happy that IM the one who gets to do this”. his hands are just big and warm and he’ll interlock your fingers and rub his thumb along the back of your hand. he also really likes to put his arm around your shoulders and hold your hand so that your arm is bent and he’ll pull you into him and kiss you. 

laszlo kreizler is a wonderful fucking kisser. first of all, we KNOW that he keeps his beard looking fresh and clean, and i just have an instinct that he uses like oil or some shit to keep it soft, so it’s not like you’re kissing a dead bush (i have kissed several guys who are guilty of this). his beard is soft against your cheeks and chin, and he’ll put his hand on your cheek and draw you into him. he has a little routine, i feel: he’ll kiss your chin, then your nose, then tilt your head down to kiss your forehead, and then he’ll kiss your lips. i had this little throwaway line in part 2 of good doctor kreizler that laszlo likes these things called pastilles that are essentially breath mints, and i think that the lavender ones are his favorite (bc that just seems like a laszlo thing idk) so his breath always smells nice and like lavender. his lips are soft and his tongue is gentle and just agdhshdjb  but he’s real weird about holding hands. he has this thing about how he doesnt want you to hold his hand, even if its his left hand, because he feels like bc of his injury, he’s just not worthy of love like that, even as small and simple as holding hands. in public, it’s an absolute no-go (again, bc old timey people were weird prudes), and the ONLY time you can hold his hand is after making love. sometimes, you’ll be able to take his right hand and just kiss his palm and he doesnt say anything (bc he likes it but doesnt wanna admit it)

zemo, unlike pretty much everyone above, is SUPER into pda. not like REALLY heavy pda (9 times outta 10, he isn’t), but he will Absolutely kiss you whenever he wants to. he won’t even have to say anything, he’ll just give you a look with those big brown eyes and you’re already leaning in. he’s partial to kissing your bottom lip and, if he’s feeling frisky or a little tipsy (bc mans was drinking in like every scene in tfatws?? we dont talk about that NEARLY as much as we should), he’ll bite your bottom lip and give a little “grr” holding hands with zemo. HOLDING HANDS WITH ZEMO. *screams in simp* his hands are Soft As Fuck bc we KNOW that our rich baron invests in good hand lotion. he’s got that o’keefes jawn going on, so his hands are soft and nice and warm. i have literally no idea why but i get the feeling that like zemo’s hands are a little sweaty a lot of the time. not, like, uncomfortably sweaty, but just like... a little... egh. i can’t explain it. but it happens. also, if you’re wearing a bracelet or ring he bought you, he’ll smile at it and grab your hand and squeeze extra hard.

i’m not even gonna discuss padre domingo here bc that is Literally worthy of its own post, but just know: kissing 10/10. holding hands 10/10. gold medal, a+, homerun, touchdown. the man does the job and does it well.

"I also get this question often. That was my little sister Sn, we look super similar so at one point everyone struggled to tell us apart but yes she was the one on glee not me" I say.

"Does Yn Collins sing" I read "yes all the time. Who doesn't sing" I say laughing.

"Honestly at this point in my life I never stop singing" I say looking up at the camera.

"Misha tells me to shut up all time, I'm a nervous singer so when I'm anxious or nervous I hum, sing all of that" I say laughing.

"Did Yn Collins and Chris Evans date" I read "no, we just hang out like a lot. We've been making movies together since I was like 14 so he's just my best friend" I say laughing playing with the last cover.

"Did Yn Collins get married" I read laughing. "Yes that's why I'm called Collins" I answer. "Is this actually a question people google enough for it to pop up?" I ask shaking my head. "But yes I did my husband is Misha Collins. He's this really hot guy who plays an angel named Castiel on supernatural" I say pointing to the camera.

I throw the card and I catch the one that gets thrown to me and the first one has my avengers character name on it and I laugh. "Who is Audrey Patterson aka volt" I read "Aubrey Patterson is a woman who grew up in the south until she got her powers when she was just a wee tween and she was shipped away to live with her grandparents in New York" I say looking at the card.

"Is Aubrey Patterson and Sam Wilson friends in real life" I read "Mackie is my guy, when I first came onto the Captain America scene he was the first person who I hadn't met before to welcome me with opened arms" I say.

"Is Aubrey Patterson" I read and when I pull the tab back it pulls off the words "I guess we'll never know" I say laughing.

"Is Aubrey Patterson the youngest in the Captain America movies" I read "yes I am" I say laughing and I toss the board to the side.

"I'm almost done and I'm sad, I never want this to end I want to answer google questions all day" I say grabbing the board "can Yn Collins speak any other languages" I read.

"Three and a half" I say.

"Yeah of course" I say nodding.

"He was there for his first comic con ever and we were next door neighbors and I got locked out of my room and my purse and everything were in there and I couldn't get a copy of my room key without my identification so I knocked on his door and the most attractive man I've ever seen opens the door in just a towel and I'm like lost for words at first and then he let's me in and enter through his room and we talked and hung out that whole weekend and 9 months I had Elodie" I say giggling.

"How old do you guys think I am?" I ask laughing even harder.

"Also that would make no sense for obvious reasons but to answer your question no Alex is not either of our kid, separate, together, adopted" I say giggling.

"His wife is actually one of Misha and I's best friends, we've known her since she was like 14" I say.

"She actually named their first kid after Misha and he let's that go to his head because he has two people named after him" I say laughing.

"Is Yn Collins closer to Jared or Jensen's wife" I read.

"I'm super close to both and I love them to pieces but I do hang out with Jensen's wife more, we always go to lunch whenever we're together, and we always ride with each other to the airport when Jensen and Misha fly in together so I guess I'll just say her because we hang out more" I say shrugging.

"But like I said I love them both so much and equally" I say.

"Is Yn Collins pregnant" I read and I start laughing "you guys are good. But yes I am, 20 weeks today. We just announced it before I came in today so" I say throwing the card.

Benny's eyes almost pop out of their sockets, that’s how shocked he looks when you, Will and Frankie reappear together after having been gone from the party for a suspicious amount of time. Apparently, you've done a shit job of hiding your activities. Most of the people have left but the few ones that are lingering stare. Maybe it’s in the way the boys hover at your sides, like guardian angels: if guardian angels were fucking sex gods. Or maybe it’s Frankie’s kiss swollen lips, Will’s slightly rumpled collar, your glazed over eyes. His brother challenged with a wicked smile

"I thought we agreed. No kissing challenge. Kissing is a big deal for me and you know it."

Roman sighed at his brother's antics

"Ok, ok! Ask him out then"

"I don't know him, you dummy. I'm just going to make a fool of myself !"

"You don't need my help for that. Come on! Are you chickening out ?"

The chaotique twine snickerd

  "I'm not doing that."

"Not even for a Stitch plushy ?"

Remus's smile grew, knowing that Disney was a week point and he basically won the argument

"... Add ten dollar and I'm in"

"Deal! Now go!"

Remus pushed his brother in direction of the stairs where a cute boy was sitting, focused on his phone.

Roman stumbled to get his balance back before walking to the poor soul who got caught in their nonsense. Not forgetting to glare at his brother on the way.

When Roman stopped in front of him, the boy glanced at him and pushed himself away from Roman's path like he somehow could have been on the way.

 Wich was not possible since the stairs were wide and no one else was on it. There was just too much space to be bothered by him in any way.

"Hum Hello?"

Roman asked his schoolmate to get his attention. He took off one ear of his headphone and rose a questioning eyebrow.

The dramatic twin cleared his throat preparing himself to get in character.

"Greetings! My name is Roman Poquelin! It's pleasure to meet me, I know!"

He was hoping he could get less ridiculous if he played it off as, confident and TOTALLY knowing what he was doing. He was neither of those and by the look of annoyance on the other teenager's face, he was being even more ridiculous than if he acted normal.

He heard Remus giggle behind him.

The boy looked past his shoulder directly at his brother and looked back at him with even more annoyance.

"I- ignore him. He's an idiot !"

Roman pressed.

The silent boy put his headphone back in place and started taping at a fast pace.

"Wait! I'm sorry, it was a joke. I-" 

Roman tried apologizing but he was already walking away from him. Sanding a murderous look to Remus on the way, as his stupid brother was crying on the ground of sheer hilarity.

Resigned, Roman walked back to the thing distorted by laughter who put him in this situation.

"... I hate you"

He gave him a soft push with his foot to punctuate his statement.

"HAHAHA Omg! It was beautiful! HAHA, No wonder you don't have a boyfriend!"

How Remus managed to get the sentence out in the middle of his laughing fit was a mystery. And it only manages to make his brother even more frustrated.

"I could have corrected it if you didn't start laughing!"

The sentence only made the boy on the ground laugh even harder.

It took a few minutes to calm him down, by the time he was breathing evenly again Roman got bored and was now sitting on the ground next to him.

"Calmed down?"

The tired brother asked

"Yeah. Oh, Roman! You lost!"

Remus jumped up like he just remembered the reason why he was laughing for so long in the first place.

"Yes, I know. No need to rub it in"

Roman stood up, removing dust from his jeans

"So you owe me ten dollars and a baby Yoda plushy!"

Remus claimed excitedly

"Why baby Yoda?"

The statement made Roman forget about his frustration.

"Because it's an ugly baby !"

"It's not ugly!"

"It's a baby-size old man! UGLY BABY!"

"No, it's a baby! Baby's are cute!"

And just like that, they dissolved into a new argument. In the midst of their bantering, they could almost forget about what just append.

"Are you ok, kiddo?”

His father asked, starting the car to go back home

"Don't worry Dad, it's nothing"

He wasn't really lying. For anyone else, this would have been nothing. Just two idiots making fun of a loner. 

But Virgil was bubbling with a bad mix of anger and anxiety just waiting to spile out. And he really didn't want to hurt his dad because of it.

"Are you sure? You look a little twitchy"

His father insisted with concern

"Yeah, just the first day of school. You know how it is"

The emo boy answered falsely nonchalantly

The parental figure waited for a red light to look at his son. Then turning back to the road, apparently deciding to not push it. Wich Virgil was very grateful for.

To avoid the uncomfortable silence threatening to come up, Virgil hurried to change the subject.

"So how is this organization for the wedding going?"

His father's eyes instantly lit up at the question. And the teenager sighed in relief.

"After some light-year of reflection, we finally agreed on a shining theme!"

Was that a pun? God, it was bad, he usually got better than that. He was probably exhausted.

"Let me guess stars? No space?"

"Yes! Isn't it a brilliant idea? Logan's eyes were full of stars when he mentioned it so I immediately agreed!"

The joyfully being claimed, trying and failing to clap in his hands while holding the wheel.

Ok, those jokes were a little better. 

"I'm glad. Hum dad? Since you look a little tired maybe I could cook today?"

Virgil was not half bad at cooking and if he could avoid the disaster that happened last time his paternal tried to cook while tiered, it would be great.

"Oh, it's ok kiddo. I can do it no kneed to worry for your old pops-"

"I insist."

He quickly cut the excuses. He knows his other father would back him up once they got home so he concluded on that.

Speaking of which. They had reached their destination.

His dad parked and started going out of the car when he stopped and looked at his son.

"I know school can be a little harsh sometimes. And you don't have to, but if you want to talk about anything bothering you I'm here."

Virgil nodded and they got out of the car. This was why he loved his dad. Anyway, what was he going to cook tonight? Something with chicken in it? Yeah, that sounded great.

  No deed to bother with school for now. It's not like he was going to meet them again anyway.

Patreon Membership Drive: Turbo Championship Hyper Fighting Edition!

Hello all you happy people! For those wondering “who the hell is this.” I”m Jake Mattingly. I review animation and comics here on this tumblr 5 times a week, and love doing so. I do so by recapping an episode of an animated show or a volume of a comic piece by piece, how detailed depends on the work and how condensed it needs to be, analyzing the episode and sometimes throwing in some jokes because i’m a silly weirdo and tis my nature. 

 So far i’ve been able to scrape by with the help of my patreon’s kev and emma, with Kev suplimenting that iwth various comissions (I.e. paying me to review a specific episode of a show much like someone would comissoin). But I don’t want to place my entire finacial future in the hands of two people so last month I lauched my patreon membership, trying to get people to join my patreon to releive some of the pressure on them. And not a person signed on during the first month. 

But I realize a large part of that is I simply didn’t advertise propertly, not really explaning what it is I do, what they get, or throwing in any extra incentives for signing up apart from “If so many people pledge to my patreon i’ll do X review” Which is still the main thrust of my campaign but I realized I need MORE than that to give you all proper money for your buck, especailly with Tumblr trying to monteize in the most half assed way possible making people presumibly more wary of spending money on me. 

So for this promo i’m going into what it is I review exactly, how to sign up for my patreon and how any of that works, what you get out of it, and various juicy stretch goals i’m hoping ya’ll can help me reach so

WHAT IS IT YOU DO EXACTLY?

As I mentioned above I review animation and comics, more animation than comics. My meat and potatoes are Disney Duck works, primarily the 2017 reboot and the Don Rosa and Carl Barks comics. For the former i’ve done retrospectives on Lena’s arc, the Della storyline from season 2 and ALL the Season 2 storylines, the last one currently in progress. I intend to review the entire series, the lackluster tie in comics, and the this duckburg life podcast, though the last one has some strings attached we’ll get to under my goals.  I”ve also been reviewing various Carl Barks first apperances and most importantly doing a complete retrospective on Don Rosa’s masterwork the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. 

I also review certain shows week to week, almost entirely Disney as aside from the True Colors Debacle they have the most reliable schedule and announce release dates farther in advance than Cartoon Network and Nick which just sorta pop up announce things. I covered all of season 3 of Ducktales and season 2 of amphibia (With season 3 coverage coming in october) and i’m currently reviewing Owl House every week till that hiatus hits. 

Finally i’m currently looking at all the Tom Luictor episodes of star vs the forces of evil tracking both Tom’s character arc and the show’s steady decline straight into the dumps. 

Comics wise i’m more sporadic but in addition to duck comics stuff, I’ve also been doing a retrospective on the Scott Pilgrim franchise: all 6 volumes of the comic, those reviews avaliable now and in two weeks from this post, just in time for  the video game and movie anniversaries to finish things up. I recently started another one for the comic book Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye, I intend to finish one I did for New X-Men, and I have a few in my mind’s eye I want to do soon on John Ostrandre’s Suicide Squad run, Justice League International, and Mega Man that i’m going to do pilots for to see if anyone’s interested. 

Finally recently i’ve started doing quick thoughts, quick reviews on recent stuff from trailers to full on movies I don’t have to cover normally. 

So What Is Your Patreon?

Patreon is a site where creators can get paid for work and can put up exclusive content and what not. To explain these better than what I did next time: My stretch goals are goals on my patreon: if I hit a certain number of Patreons I will review (Insert Thing Here) And these are meaty projects too: full season reviews, retrospectives and what have you and something’s unlocked with each person who signs up, adjusted from orignally basing it on price. So your dollar a month not only gets you your own review, but also will get my solemn vow to review a bunch of other thigns, and the more people who sign up the more thigns I’ll add to my plate. I’ve already rewatched the season recently, so all someone has to do is sign up and i’ll get on it in septmeber in time for season 3! And that’s not the only show as i’ll also review BOTH seasons of the birdtastic show after my own heart Tuca and Bertie! 

2 New Patrons: This one’s a big lighter but you still get some neat things: for my scottaholics in the audience I will review the rest of Brian Lee O’Malley’s works so far: Lost at Sea (his first graphic novel) Seconds (his first post scott work) and Snotgirl (his first ongoing and first work he didn’t draw himself), which follow a girl trying to reclaim her soul/cat, an immature restrauntieur who discovers reality changing muschrooms, and an influencer who might of done a murder. For those who don’t really like Scott Pilgrim i’ll review a buch of paramount plus shows first seasons: Kamp Korral, the rugrats rugboot and iCarly. And it’s still not the most bonkers thing int his somehow 12 ISSUE SERIES tha twastes one of marvels best creations.  * The Prince: Aka that series HBO what farted out onto the service with no intention of renewal after realizing “Holy shit we greenlit this what is wrong with us” which is basically family guy but with the royal family. I’d say it was a somehow worse family guy but Famiily Guy once had an episode that was about 22 minutes of transphobic punchlines so as long as there isn’t an episode of that your good.  * Mordecai is a Bastard Man: Aka that arc of Regular Show that took a ship I really liked, Mordecai and CJ, and then destoryed it with cheating, attempted murder and saxophone.  *Star Vs Final Arc: Aka a look at how a once great show descended into a mess with unfinished plot lines, wasted characters and a finale so terrible it’s only topped by “Kids this is the story of how I really want you to say it’s okay to bang aunt robin” 8 New Patrons: Infinity Train, all four books and any finale movie if it happens. (Please let it happen) All aboard! 9 New Patrons: Two juicy disney retrospectives! The Incredibles (both movies and both comics series) and Darkwing Duck (Both the Boom! and Joe Books runs) Let’s get incredibly dangerous! 10 New Patrons: My highest tier for now and i’ts anothe rdouble feature and two big projects.
