Left to my own devices for the evening, I took a Lyfte to the Sour Cellars where I had two flights of the most wonderful beer. Also in the house was a beautiful bulldog called hopper and a very small silky furred pup of no particular breed. I asked Brian (owner) if there were good eats in walking distance. He sent me on a half mile walk to Los Jalapeños to get tacos de buche (tripe.) The evening was cool and not a single bug in sight so I decided to walk 45 minutes to return to our daughter's place.

On the way I saw people crowded around a pop up taco stand with meat being carved off a vertical spit. There was a festival atmosphere and I was a bit sad I was too full to try some street food.

12. Chaos

“Heyyyyyy!!!!” Luna bounced inside the Mansion and was met with her parents sitting in the living room, hunched over the coffeetable. “What are you doing?”

“Hey Luna?” Monica greeted her. “We’re doing some planning.”

“Planning for what?” Luna sat of the couch next to Miguel. 

“Ana told me that some charity foundation that her friend is a huge benefactor off is holding a bakesale,” Monica explained, “So, we signed up for it. It’s for a good cause.” 

“What kind of cause?” Luna questioned. She didn’t know that Ana had other friends other than Mora, but no one could know everything.

“For cancer research and support of families suffering from cronic ilnesses.” Miguel responded, “Al the proceeds go to help those families suffering.” 

“Oh well, that’s great!” Luna practically bounced up from the sofa, “What can I do? I wanna help!” 

“You think you have time?”

“Of course,” Luna assured, “I always have time. So what can I do? What can I bake?”

“Erm…” Monica and Miguel exchanged few glances, “You could come and help us at the actual sale in the charity event… We were thinking of hiring some people, but you can also join us.”

“UUuuuuuuuu, I can decorate the table!” Luna jumped up again in the excitement. She grabbed her phone and started scrolling through the pinterest. “We could put bows on the table… uuuu, and buch of glitter. I should call Jazmin, she might have some ideas!”

“A bake sale?” Nina’s voice rang from Luna’s phones speaker. 

“Yeah, apparently some rich people who your Mom knew are holding one for some charity.” 

“Well, Mom knows a lot of people so I can’t really tell you who,” Nina was just shrugging when Luna turned the call into a videocall. “but it’s probably for a important cause then.”

“Yep! And I am helping them!” Luna exclaimed as she sat down on the floor.

“Are you baking?” Nina asked, raising a eyebrow at Luna. 

“Nope,” Luna shook her head, “I wanted to, but Mom and Dad told me that it would help more if I helped them at the actual sale.”

Luna had bunch of different colored ribbons in front of her. Next to the she had glue, glitter and glitter glue. 

“I though I’d make some bows,” Luna showed Nina the ribbons. 

“Do you know how to make bows?” 

“I think so…” Luna looked at the ribbons, “I can’t be that hard right.”

She wrapped the ribbon around her fingers and tied another ribbon around it… Then you should probably add glue. Gluestick probably wouldn’t work… MODPODGE IT WAS!!!!

Luna grabbed the bottle of glue and squeezed the glue around where she was holding the bow onto place. 

“Isn’t that little too much glue?” Nina asked though the phone. 

“No, I don’t think so.” Luna shook her head, “I gotta make sure it holds. So what color glitter should I use, since the bow is pink?” 

“I am not the best with color matching,” Nina shook her head, “But I guess silver could work.”

“Yeah, I think so too,” Luna nodded and picked up the glitter bottle and decapped it. “Ugh…”

Luna had tried to pull the bow off her fingers, but they were stuck! 

“I’m stuck!!” She said to Nina who was still watching her antics throught the phone. “I can’t get it off!”

“You probably glued your fingers together or something,” Nina suggested, “Look, I’m sorry, but I am starting to be late so I need to go.” 

“Yeah, bye!!” Luna kept her eyes at the bow. How was she supposed to get it off? 

She stared at the bow for good five minutes before sliding her other hand’s finger under the bow and pulled. The bow moved a littel bit. So this was working. Luna pulled harder and the bow moved again—Luna also managed to spill almost all the glitter of the bottle she had been holding. She hadn’t noticed she was still holding it. 

Finally Luna pulled the bow again and it finally popped off her fingers. 

“Luna are you here?” Ambar showed up at the door suddenly, “Monica said you’d be… What happened here?”

“I was talking to Nina and making bows,” Luna explained while brushing some glitter off her face. Ambar was still staring at her blankly. “And the bow got stuck on my finger, so I needed to pull and spilled the glitter… I need to make  more of these for the bake sale. Do you wanna help?”

“I… I think I’ll pass,” Ambar still looked very confused, “You’re gonna make more after it got stuck?”

“Yes, now as I have a method,” Luna nodded, “I’ll just need to be more careful with the glitter.”

“Well, good luck to you…” Ambar turned on her heels on the door. 

I think we have all learned not to let Luna lose in the kitchen... Or that what you'd think

Phew, I'm glad you think so. I feel a bit shy sending Asks because I'm not the best at conversations and I'm mostly unsure on how I should voice things. Maybe that's why I like Elan so much, we're quite similar in that aspect😄.

That's so interesting! I've looked up what both of the Physician's names means, the L name being "Light" and the C name "from the Heavens" or simply "Heavenly", so your choices compliment each other very well. It also relates to her character since the people dying from the plague may seem her as a Heaven's sent.(though drinking blood or consuming flesh is far from heavenly😷).

It definitely came naturally to me, yes - very organically. I only had some hour to come up with the short story when I got the 'write a vampire story'-prompt, so it just popped up in my head. I didn't expect to actually make a big thing of it back then, though, but I'm very happy that I did. I'm having a lot of fun with it!

Your question hasn't been answered in the game, no - and even if it had... well, the game is 400 000 words long, I would never expect anyone to remember everything, so even if it had been answered, I wouldn't have minded answering it again - so no need to apologise, if you're curious about something, don't hesitate to ask, it's all good!

As far as I'm aware, it's quite random, what becomes of one's cravings, what one's body needs. I think there are things that nudges a person in a certain direction; namely, what happened as one got fed upon might increase the chance for a certain craving. If the main character is a cannibal, the Physician mentions their flesh as she talks about their disease with them, but if they are a vampire, she mentions their blood instead. This isn't fool-proof, though, since Roswhen, who's cause for almost-death was decidedly bloody, became a cannibal, and I would say that Elan's disorder affected his flesh more than his blood, even though he had been bleeding a rather vast amount.

As a little bonus, I once noticed that when it comes to the current love interests, more phlegmatic and melancholic people are vampires, and more sanguine and choleric people are cannibals. Nothing I thought about as I wrote them, there were other reasons for me to pick their cravings, but it was a fun little find, even though it means nothing in the long run since every main character is different.

January 27, Airiel - UW-Madison Kicking off the year with Chicago’s shoegaze phenom (for free) at my alma mater with my sister was an amazing wall of sonic guitars, to say the least.

February 23, Abby Holiday - UW-Madison Another free show at UW with my son and daughter-in-law, up and coming artist Abby proved she’s heading one way…up! Loved her live version of “Better By Now,” brought me to tears.

March 1, Tyler Ramsey/Jeremy Lister - Shank Hall, Milwaukee Not sure how Peter Jest does it, but he continues to book great bands at Shank. (Just finished his book(co-written with Amy T. Waldman) We Had Fun And Nobody Died-a great read!) Caught up with an old friend and we loved both artists, but Tyler had me with “These Ghosts” off of his latest album.

March 28 San Fermin/runnner - High Noon Saloon, Madison Celebrating my wife’s birthday, our family went (minus the birthday girl) to this incredible double bill. Playing most of the new album, San Fermin didn’t disappoint. They pulled off their classic, a family favorite, “Sonsick” as well.

April 13 Ratboys/Ducks, Ltd. - UW-Madison The most crowded my son and I’ve seen at the Rathskeller, another great double bill. Ratboys’ leader, Julia Steiner was the sweetest person running the merch booth. And her band’s performance later was amazing. May 10 EXTC - Shank Hall, Milwaukee XTC’s drummer (with Andy & Colin’s permission) did their best in recreating the XTC catalog. (I saw XTC open for The Police during the Drums & Wires tour.) It was a fun night with family. June 2 Do Division Street Fest - Chicago This street fest is an annual visit with an old friend. Kacy Hill was the highlight for me this year. That’s what I love about these street fests, so many new artists(to me) to enjoy! June 21 Jesus Jones/Modern English - Summerfest, Milwaukee It was bucket list time for me. Hearing these bands playing old and new in an outdoor venue with family really hit the spot. June 29 Cherry Glazzer/Dandy Warhols/Afghan Whigs/Ethel Cain - Summerfest, Milwaukee New Indie and classic alternative bands made for a great day with family. The clincher was Ethel covering “Bette Davis Eyes” straight into concert-ending, crowd-pleaser “American Teenager.” July 13 Mandy/Lydia Loveless - Square Roots, Chicago Another great Chicago street fest this time with my daughter. Mandy was great, but literally got blown off the stage by an incoming storm. But it was Lydia who blew me away by beginning her show with my favorite, “Same To You.” (After her performance, I thanked her for playing that. She told me, “I realized I need to play some of my old stuff once in a while.”) Glad she did!

July19-21 Rosali, Water From Your Eyes, Model/Actriz   - Pitchfork, Chicago Many great artists in the final installment of Pitchfork(ML Buch, Lifeguard, Hotline TNT, Bratmobile, Jessica Pratt, Mannequin Pussy), but these three still have me thinking how happy I was to see them in concert.

August 9 Great Lake Swimmers - McPike Park, Madison Kiki’s Session in Madison. Hearing “When The Storm Has Passed” live was the highlight for me. Even my wife enjoyed their sound.

August 24 Guided by Voices - Humboldt Park, Milwaukee It was my birthday weekend with my family dressed in my GBV t-shirts(even my wife!), we headed to Milwaukee for a free, beautiful outdoor show. All the hits, all the beer. August 31 Pravdafest - Fitzgerald's, Berwyn Where do I start? Kenn Goodman has an amazing catalog of artists on Pravda. It was like a (40th) class reunion of old time friends and family filled with great music all day and night! Hard to pick a favorite. September 14 Pia Fraus - Kalamashoegazer - Bell’s Brewery, Kalamazoo An amazing line-up from top to bottom(Thanks to Tambourina’s April Zimont), but it was Pia Fraus closing the evening on their first tour of the US that stuck with me. It was a much loved night of dream pop and shoegaze spent with my brother.

September 27 Mali Velasquez/Bloomsday/Foxes in Fiction/Fog Lake - UW Terrace, Madison Four great bands all for free. I’d only seen Foxes in Fiction before, so it was quite a treat to see the others and share Wisconsin beer with them.

October 5 Matthew Sweet - Stoughton Opera House, Wisconsin Armed with Paulie Chastain and Adrian Carter doing acoustic songs, Matthew gave a special performance the night before his 60th birthday with my sister. Who would have known Matthew would suffer a stroke a few days later?

October 13 The dB’s - Shank Hall, Milwaukee Definitely a bucket list band here for my sister and I. They played all the hits, especially “Love Is For Lovers.” October 18 The Chameleons - Bottom Lounge, Chicago Arguably the LOUDEST show I saw this year with my brother, even with earplugs. But I had to go since I hadn’t seen Mark Burgess since his Sons of God tour in 1994 thirty years ago. Playing the entire Strange Times album was amazing. “Soul In Isolation” was one of my many highlights. November 14 Jason Narducy - Kiki’s House of Righteous Music, Madison My sister and I enjoyed this man of many skills. Jason delivered an intimate show delivering interesting tidbits between his amazing guitar work and vocals.

these women sound like echoes, they tap into the bits of my bones that pulse, the marrow. they lure me in with their voices-- whisper secret things. there is something ancient about their music, the experience of a particular feeling as eternal as a kate bush ballad. they make songs about memory, history, old tales.

from fine (pronounced FEEN-UH) comes "coasting", a mysterious blend of trip-hop and dream pop. it sounds like the languid gaze of concealed emotion. fine is nebulous with desire; she delivers a tremulous kind of anticipation for love. "coasting" is the follow-up to lead single "days incomplete", my personal addiction off the album, and a hushed song of uncertainty and longing. go on a relaxing stroll with this album. look at some ducks in a pond, or cross a hill in a park. walk around your city and see your loved one behind every corner and on every bar stool.

from molina and avant-pop luminary ml buch, "organs," arrives like a resounding hearbeat. the melody of the song is elastic, it rebounds like a pulse. moody, springy synth pads and hybrid organic-electronic drums fuel a tune that investigates the function of organs and the inexplicably obscure. i felt like this song spoke to my insides, called to the beat my body sets for itself. the synthetic strings made for an unfamiliar but comforting listen every time--give it a listen on the morning commute, or better yet, on a night time bike ride. set your pace, and hear "organs" match it. (molina's debut album is set to arrive in three days !!)

ramona lisa has been around for a long time. she's been my autumn girl for the last two years, but arcadia's been walking me to the tram for the last week. "izzit true what they tell me?" is a song about uncertainty, doubt, the idea of trust. though it unfolds like plainsong question? no answer, it devolves into a wintry electronic soundscape: some pretty sickly a.g cook vibes. in the end, she is lost to her question, ambient cicadas rise to answer her plea. the album is dreamy and ethereal to be sure, but it is punctuated by textured melodies for caroline to float on. experience this album if you're into the experimental and mythological, the uncanny valley of cinematic sound. listen to this with headphones, maybe surrounded by candlelight and some sort of handcraft. let her transport you

so klarity's trance-like goth gaze spins melodies of forlorn devotion. her sounds are totally stoner-grunge-panoptic-sensuality-corrupted-beauty-chic. i love listening to this album in the darkened fall, but more specifically in a partially emptied bathtub. whisper your secrets into the water, watch them disappear. don't forget to play volume 1 softy from your old ipod touch.

world of work is (first of all, don't read my review of this, go on pitchfork or smth) musically, it's wondrous-- a tumbling rush of beautiful and terrifying chords, medieval melodic lines, modern production playfulness, 70s folk, and a good number of genuinely jawdropping sonic flourishes, many of which involve a recording of bells from a church she appears to enjoy hanging out in for reasons that extend beyond mere gothicism. i don't think i could describe the sound of guitar and classical piano fusing anyway. listen to it on the floor or your room. do not move. listen.

A Song I've Been Thinking About Lately

Recently, vaporwave producer, label owner & curator christtt put out a new DJ mix called BIZMIX002. It's the second in a series of subscriber-exclusive DJ mixes from artists on his label business casual. Opening it was this slowed down version of a song by Dane producer & singer/songwriter ML Buch. It's called Can't Get Over You With You and ever since I heard it, it's been in rotation quite frequently.

It's not a new song, this is from her debut album that's celebrating four years of existence this year and while I haven't gotten to that myself, I do look forward to it, because this song is… Well, it's a lot of things, but it's not a lot at the same time. It's an art pop song composed with minimal beats & elegant church-like synths carried alongside Marie's singing about her boundaries during a breakup.

As a song, it feels very solemn, but in a way that's both minimalistic, beautiful and strangely ominous. Because this is a breakup song, she frames it as though she's very emotionally distant whilst being shaken up about this whole ordeal. The dark low-end synths all over the chorus portray this feeling of dread looming over the entire song and it's very potent to me. It's that secret feeling visible behind the emotional shield and it's not a happy one.

I don't suppose this song or album will be for everybody, it's already one of the more underrated cuts I'm seeing from an outside view of the album it's from, but it certainly struck a chord with me and you can probably expect it on the next MusicDeclanLikes playlist, so check it out.

Im Urlaub Surfen lernen - Wenn ein Traum in Erfüllung geht

Sich den Traum vom Surfen zu erfüllen - das haben sich schon einige vorgenommen, aber bei uns wird dieser Traum tatsächlich auch in die Tat umgesetzt. Für die meisten beginnt der Prozess schon lange bevor sie überhaupt das Wasser berühren. Man lernt zu allererst etwas über die Ausrüstung, die verschiedenen Arten von Boards, die richtige Technik und Sicherheitsvorkehrungen. Vorfreude ist ja bekanntlich die schönste Freude. Sobald man das erste Mal auf dem Brett steht, spürt man die Herausforderung. Es erfordert Geduld, Gleichgewicht und Ausdauer, um die Wellen zu meistern. Gut, dass unsere Coaches allen tatkräftig mit viel Energie, Motivation und vor allem ganz viel Spaß zur Seite stehen.Den Traum des Surfens zu erfüllen ist nicht nur eine sportliche Leistung, sondern eine Reise der Selbstentdeckung, des Wachstums und der Erfüllung.

In dieser Woche hatten wir eine beträchtliche Anzahl von Surf-Neulingen, die sich erst einmal mit den Wellen und dem Ozean vertraut machen mussten. Einige sind noch nie auf einem Brett gestanden und einige mussten ihre Grundkenntnisse nochmal auffrischen. Doch mit jeder Session und jedem Pop-Up wurden sie selbstbewusster und am nächsten Tag klappte es dann direkt viel besser. Vom ersten Paddeln bis hin zu den ersten erfolgreichen Versuchen, auf dem Brett zu stehen. Am Ende der Woche konnten viele schon tatsächlich auf dem Brett stehen. Und der ein oder andere konnte schon ins nächste Surflevel heraufgestuft werden. 

Im Urlaub Surfen lernen - In den Kursen

Ab Mitte der Woche war unser Beginner Kurs mal wieder sehr belebt. An der Mädels-Front hat sich tatsächlich aber nicht sehr viel verändert. Daniel - unser lonely warrior hat sich zwischen den Girls dennoch sehr wohlgefühlt. Obwohl die Wellen diese Woche ziemlich viel Strömung mit sich brachten haben sich alle wacker geschlagen und die Wellen mal liegend und mal stehend souverän abgesurft.An unserem Intermediate Spot teilten sich Christian und Christian nicht nur den selben Namen, sondern auch die ein oder andere Partywelle. Die Bedingungen waren vor Allem am Anfang der Woche traumhaft: kleine Wellen, auf denen man wunderbar üben konnte.

But to answer this question I'm the oldest of four who's last names aren't Collins because that's my husbands last name" I say laughing, pulling the last one.

"I also get this question often. That was my little sister Sn, we look super similar so at one point everyone struggled to tell us apart but yes she was the one on glee not me" I say.

"Does Yn Collins sing" I read "yes all the time. Who doesn't sing" I say laughing.

"Honestly at this point in my life I never stop singing" I say looking up at the camera.

"Misha tells me to shut up all time, I'm a nervous singer so when I'm anxious or nervous I hum, sing all of that" I say laughing.

"Did Yn Collins and Chris Evans date" I read "no, we just hang out like a lot. We've been making movies together since I was like 14 so he's just my best friend" I say laughing playing with the last cover.

"Did Yn Collins get married" I read laughing. "Yes that's why I'm called Collins" I answer. "Is this actually a question people google enough for it to pop up?" I ask shaking my head. "But yes I did my husband is Misha Collins. He's this really hot guy who plays an angel named Castiel on supernatural" I say pointing to the camera.

I throw the card and I catch the one that gets thrown to me and the first one has my avengers character name on it and I laugh. "Who is Audrey Patterson aka volt" I read "Aubrey Patterson is a woman who grew up in the south until she got her powers when she was just a wee tween and she was shipped away to live with her grandparents in New York" I say looking at the card.

"Is Aubrey Patterson and Sam Wilson friends in real life" I read "Mackie is my guy, when I first came onto the Captain America scene he was the first person who I hadn't met before to welcome me with opened arms" I say.

"Is Aubrey Patterson" I read and when I pull the tab back it pulls off the words "I guess we'll never know" I say laughing.

"Is Aubrey Patterson the youngest in the Captain America movies" I read "yes I am" I say laughing and I toss the board to the side.

"I'm almost done and I'm sad, I never want this to end I want to answer google questions all day" I say grabbing the board "can Yn Collins speak any other languages" I read.

"Yeah of course" I say nodding.

"How tall is Yn Collins" I read "good question" I say laughing "I want to say about Y/H, in that area, just about" I say looking at the next one.

"How did Yn meet Misha" I read "aww" I say smiling "I love talking it about this a lot more than I actually should" I say.

"The year was 2009 and I was at comic con for Avatar" I say.

"He was there for his first comic con ever and we were next door neighbors and I got locked out of my room and my purse and everything were in there and I couldn't get a copy of my room key without my identification so I knocked on his door and the most attractive man I've ever seen opens the door in just a towel and I'm like lost for words at first and then he let's me in and enter through his room and we talked and hung out that whole weekend and 9 months I had Elodie" I say giggling.

"How long have Yn and Misha Collins been married" I read "nine years, we got married after Elodie turned one. Almost ten years" I say smiling at the camera.

"How old do you guys think I am?" I ask laughing even harder.

"Also that would make no sense for obvious reasons but to answer your question no Alex is not either of our kid, separate, together, adopted" I say giggling.

"His wife is actually one of Misha and I's best friends, we've known her since she was like 14" I say.

"She actually named their first kid after Misha and he let's that go to his head because he has two people named after him" I say laughing.

"I'm super close to both and I love them to pieces but I do hang out with Jensen's wife more, we always go to lunch whenever we're together, and we always ride with each other to the airport when Jensen and Misha fly in together so I guess I'll just say her because we hang out more" I say shrugging.

"But like I said I love them both so much and equally" I say.

"Is Yn Collins pregnant" I read and I start laughing "you guys are good. But yes I am, 20 weeks today. We just announced it before I came in today so" I say throwing the card.

Apparently, you've done a shit job of hiding your activities. Most of the people have left but the few ones that are lingering stare. Maybe it’s in the way the boys hover at your sides, like guardian angels: if guardian angels were fucking sex gods. Or maybe it’s Frankie’s kiss swollen lips, Will’s slightly rumpled collar, your glazed over eyes. Will disappears from your side and you begin to reach for him, not wanting him to leave, but Frankie’s arm wraps around your waist. Keeps you on course as Will heads into the kitchen. Patreon Membership Drive: Turbo Championship Hyper Fighting Edition!

Hello all you happy people! For those wondering “who the hell is this.” I”m Jake Mattingly. I review animation and comics here on this tumblr 5 times a week, and love doing so. I do so by recapping an episode of an animated show or a volume of a comic piece by piece, how detailed depends on the work and how condensed it needs to be, analyzing the episode and sometimes throwing in some jokes because i’m a silly weirdo and tis my nature. 

 So far i’ve been able to scrape by with the help of my patreon’s kev and emma, with Kev suplimenting that iwth various comissions (I.e. paying me to review a specific episode of a show much like someone would comissoin). But I don’t want to place my entire finacial future in the hands of two people so last month I lauched my patreon membership, trying to get people to join my patreon to releive some of the pressure on them. And not a person signed on during the first month. 

But I realize a large part of that is I simply didn’t advertise propertly, not really explaning what it is I do, what they get, or throwing in any extra incentives for signing up apart from “If so many people pledge to my patreon i’ll do X review” Which is still the main thrust of my campaign but I realized I need MORE than that to give you all proper money for your buck, especailly with Tumblr trying to monteize in the most half assed way possible making people presumibly more wary of spending money on me.

WHAT IS IT YOU DO EXACTLY?

As I mentioned above I review animation and comics, more animation than comics. My meat and potatoes are Disney Duck works, primarily the 2017 reboot and the Don Rosa and Carl Barks comics. For the former i’ve done retrospectives on Lena’s arc, the Della storyline from season 2 and ALL the Season 2 storylines, the last one currently in progress. I intend to review the entire series, the lackluster tie in comics, and the this duckburg life podcast, though the last one has some strings attached we’ll get to under my goals.  I”ve also been reviewing various Carl Barks first apperances and most importantly doing a complete retrospective on Don Rosa’s masterwork the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. 

I also review certain shows week to week, almost entirely Disney as aside from the True Colors Debacle they have the most reliable schedule and announce release dates farther in advance than Cartoon Network and Nick which just sorta pop up announce things. I covered all of season 3 of Ducktales and season 2 of amphibia (With season 3 coverage coming in october) and i’m currently reviewing Owl House every week till that hiatus hits. 

Finally i’m currently looking at all the Tom Luictor episodes of star vs the forces of evil tracking both Tom’s character arc and the show’s steady decline straight into the dumps. 

Comics wise i’m more sporadic but in addition to duck comics stuff, I’ve also been doing a retrospective on the Scott Pilgrim franchise: all 6 volumes of the comic, those reviews avaliable now and in two weeks from this post, just in time for  the video game and movie anniversaries to finish things up. I recently started another one for the comic book Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye, I intend to finish one I did for New X-Men, and I have a few in my mind’s eye I want to do soon on John Ostrandre’s Suicide Squad run, Justice League International, and Mega Man that i’m going to do pilots for to see if anyone’s interested. 

Finally recently i’ve started doing quick thoughts, quick reviews on recent stuff from trailers to full on movies I don’t have to cover normally.

1 New Patreon: Starting off light but still juicy, I will review the complete season one of Amphibia across two posts. I’ve already rewatched the season recently, so all someone has to do is sign up and i’ll get on it in septmeber in time for season 3! And that’s not the only show as i’ll also review BOTH seasons of the birdtastic show after my own heart Tuca and Bertie! 

2 New Patrons: This one’s a big lighter but you still get some neat things: for my scottaholics in the audience I will review the rest of Brian Lee O’Malley’s works so far: Lost at Sea (his first graphic novel) Seconds (his first post scott work) and Snotgirl (his first ongoing and first work he didn’t draw himself), which follow a girl trying to reclaim her soul/cat, an immature restrauntieur who discovers reality changing muschrooms, and an influencer who might of done a murder. For those who don’t really like Scott Pilgrim i’ll review a buch of paramount plus shows first seasons: Kamp Korral, the rugrats rugboot and iCarly. So if any of that sounds good get on the bus won’t you?

3 New Patrons: My juicest one and one that stands alone: I will review the complete first season of the Owl House across two posts. Every episode, every bit of lumity progressoin, every bit of foreshadowing in hindsight, all for you, all if three people join my patron. So if you want more bisexual magic, step up.

I”m not only talking both season of Alex Hirsch’s era defining masterpice, but also the side materials I have acess to: the shorts, Journal #3, and the lost legends tie in comic. I”d throw legend of the gnome gemulets in there two if I had a working 2ds or 3ds bu tas it stands this is what I got. 

6 New Patrons: Avatarverse Retrospective. No not James Cameron the Bravest Pioneer’s movie he wants to turn into a franchise despite NO ONE wanting this please stop James, we’re begging you. Of course i’m talking about Avatar the Last Airbender, the epic franchise that’s blowing up in size. This will include all three books of Avatar: The Last Airbender, All Four Books of the Legend of Korra, and all the juicy side stuff I can cover: the sequel comics for both series, the kioshi novels and the eye gougingly bad M Night Shamlyn Movie. Yes I really will   myself to that. I have not till now i’m happy that way but I will sufer for you. Speaking of suffering:

7 New Patrons: It’s a crapstravaganza!  If i’ve made it this far I clearly have enough fan support that I can fly into the eye of the crapstorm so i’m going to review some of the worst things I can think of:  * Chuck Austen’s X-Men the run that dared to ask the tough questions your coke addleed uncle you don’t let see your kids would like “What if Angel could cure AIDS with his blood and had sex with a minor while her parents watched?” “What if a rouge relgious sect tried to make Nightcrawler pope and then desingrate people with commuiion wafers in a scheme that makes no sense?” and “What if an x-man made a plant horny?”  * America: The comic that has the infamous and oft used by me line to compare it to other bad lines “What in the holy menstration are you doing here”. And it’s still not the most bonkers thing int his somehow 12 ISSUE SERIES tha twastes one of marvels best creations.  * The Prince: Aka that series HBO what farted out onto the service with no intention of renewal after realizing “Holy shit we greenlit this what is wrong with us” which is basically family guy but with the royal family. I’d say it was a somehow worse family guy but Famiily Guy once had an episode that was about 22 minutes of transphobic punchlines so as long as there isn’t an episode of that your good.  * Mordecai is a Bastard Man: Aka that arc of Regular Show that took a ship I really liked, Mordecai and CJ, and then destoryed it with cheating, attempted murder and saxophone.  *Star Vs Final Arc: Aka a look at how a once great show descended into a mess with unfinished plot lines, wasted characters and a finale so terrible it’s only topped by “Kids this is the story of how I really want you to say it’s okay to bang aunt robin” 8 New Patrons: Infinity Train, all four books and any finale movie if it happens. (Please let it happen) All aboard! 9 New Patrons: Two juicy disney retrospectives! The Incredibles (both movies and both comics series) and Darkwing Duck (Both the Boom! and Joe Books runs) Let’s get incredibly dangerous! 10 New Patrons: My highest tier for now and i’ts anothe rdouble feature and two big projects. If you get me this far, you’ve earned em: A She Ra and the Pricesses of Power Retrospective and a Bojack Horseman retrospective. The two greatest things Netflix has made back to back for life.

     𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐘  𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐓𝐄.   unforgiving  to  the  eyes  and  like  a  knife  to  the  brain.  its  hue,  along  with  the  cheap  overhanging  lights  only  succeed  in  making  bucky’s  head  hurt.  of  course,  the  lingering  hangover  from  last  night’s  bender  probably  isn’t  helping  ( && more likely the source to blame ) -  and  neither  is  the  caffeine  high  he  is  now  determined  to  funnel  down  his  throat,  but  details,  details ...    in  an  effort  to  ease  the  burden,  he  instead  redirects  his  gaze  to  the  floor,  but  is  left  disappointed  when  he  finds  that  the  tiles  beneath  their  feet  reflect  the  same  god - awful  shade.  it  is  all  very  CLINICAL  -  like  a  hospital  or  a  mental  ward,  and  isn’t  that  just  fitting ?  bucky  wonders  if  the  VA  should  be  renamed  something  as  such,  considering  the  types  of  poor  souls  who  wander  in  through  these  doors.  maybe  they  too  should  all  be  locked  inside  here  like  the  loons  confined  within  the  nearby  mental  hospital.  surely,  TRAUMATIZED  veterans  are  all  the  more  dangerous.  

                     bucky  barnes  certainly  is.

     temperamental.  violent.  barbed - tongue.  sarcastic.  scathing.  always  itchin’  for  a  fight  -  if  only  to  clench  his  fist  and  shatter  something  ;;  release  some  of  that  boiling  steam  rising  in  his  chest.  if  only  to  DESTROY  something  like  he  has  been  DESTROYED.   volatile,  like  a  ticking  time - bomb ...  &&  he  isn’t  the  only  one  here  with  a  timer  glinting  in  the  shadow  of  his  gaze.  might  truly  be  smarter  ( safer )  to  lock  them  up  and  throw  away  the  key.  steve  here  though ...  steve  is  different.  damaged  obviously,  but  more  likely  at  risk  of  imploding  -  if  only  to  ensure  no  one  else  gets  hurt  caught  up  in  his  own  self - destruction.  guy  looks  like  he  wouldn’t  hurt  a  fly.  like  he  would  apologize  to  each  bug  smashed  against  his  windshield.  the  idea  of  it  makes  him  chuckle  a  little  under  his  breath.  

     the  blonde  fumbles  with  his  words,  choking  on  his  own  polite  small  talk.  he  isn’t  sure  if  steve’s  interest  is  genuine  or  if  he  was  simply  raised  with  manners.  either  way,  he  struggles  to  string  together  the  words.  barnes  doesn’t  react  negatively  to  it  though.  he  doesn’t  stare  or  laugh  or  cut  him  off.  he  remains  quiet,  unruffled.  contrary  to  his  beforementioned  self - criticism,  barnes  can  be  surprisingly  patient  when  he  wants  to  be.  it  doesn’t  bother  him  -  steve’s  lack  of  confidence  in  himself  -  in  his  skin,  in  his  voice.  there  is  a  reason  steve  is  the  way  he  is.  just  like  there  is  a  reason  bucky  is  the  way  he  is.  they  are  both  walking  tragedies,  egregious  products  of  war.  steve  has  been  nothing  but  kind  and  despite  his  bitter  disposition  and  spiteful  outlook,  barnes  does  try  to  spare  those  few  people  who  really  do  not  deserve  his  rancor.  

     so  he  gives  steve  a  moment  -  allows  him  the  time  and  the  permission  to  be  FLAWED  without  being  judged.  lets  the  man  find  and  say  each  half - choked  word  without  interruption.  buck  thinks  giving  steve  the  opportunity  to  do  so  -  to  ASK  his  questions  -  might  be  more  important  than  any  answer  he  follows  up  with.  steve  still  flounders  though  and  once  they  reach  a  door  at  the  end  of  the  hall,  he  seems  to  give  up.  it  is  only  then  that  bucky  pivots  on  his  heel  and  faces  the  guy,  shoulder  coming  down  to  lean  against  the  doorframe.  his  lax  smile  remains  and  he  answers  steve’s  question  as  if  he  had  asked  it  without  issue.    

     ❛   i’ve  always  had  this  strong  dislike  of  fathers  who  name  their  sons  after  ‘em.  it’s  so  -  fucking  maniacal,  you  know ?  so  SELF - ABSORBED.   to  believe  you  are  so  important,  that  your  name  is  so  prestigious,  that  you  decide  to  BRAND  your  child  -  and  turn  ‘em  into  a  walking  scar.  it  is  an  insult.  they  didn’t  even  give  me  a  chance  to  be  my  own  person.  from  the  second  ma  pushed  me  out,  i  was  just  -  his  son.  ❜   he  lets  out  a  huff.  a  brief  pause  to  his  dramatic  tangent  -  and  then  some ...  retrospection.   ❛   pretty  sure  pop  regrets  it  now.  the  only  thing  worse  than  not  living  up  to  expectation  is  tarnishing  it.  ❜   gaze  flickers  away,  glossing  over  slightly  -  starry eyed.   ❛  i  consider  it  my  proudest  accomplishment.  ❜

     bucky  blinks  -  and  comes  to.   ❛  but  that  doesn’t  answer  your  question,  does  it ?  ❜   he  flashes  a  grin.   ❛  i  never  really  did  like  ‘james’  -  but  i  grew  to  hate  it  once  we  started  fighting  so  much.   —  didn’t  want  to  go  by  ‘barnes’  for  a  while  either,  cause  again  -  the  reference  to  dad.  the  only  unique  thing  about  me  was  my  middle  name,  buchanan.  kids  laughed  at  that  though.  that  was  too  different  ;;  i  couldn’t  pull  it  off.  ❜   he  chuckles  softly  before  continuing.   ❛  it  was  actually  my  kid  sister  who  came  up  with  ‘buck’.  she  was  five  when  i  unloaded  all  this  on  her  -  my  IDENTITY CRISIS.  brat  first  suggested  bug,  cause  you  know,  buch  and  bug  sound  kinda  similar.  then  she  pointed  out  that  buch  and  and  buck  also  sound  really  similar ...  &&  i  ran  with  it  ever  since.  ❜  with  a  sparkle  in  his  eye  that  always  glimmers  when  he  speaks  of  the  infamous  becky  barnes,  he  adds  -   ❛  stroke  of  GENIUS  really.  ❜
