Exhaustion was too light a term for what Y/n was feeling.

The past few months had been a whirlwind of training, meetings and missions. The line between work-life blurred with social life, to the point where Y/n felt she was losing her mind.

That day had been no different.

She was out of bed before the sun was up, begrudgingly leaving the warmth and safety of her mate's arms behind for an early morning meeting with the High Lord of Day.

Three hours later, she was dragged into yet another meeting, sitting at Rhysand's right hand in place of Mor, who was busy on the continent.

Following the morning full of meetings, Y/n found herself observing the progress of the female warriors she trained in the Illyrian mountains.

"is it just me or are they doing worse than last week?" her second asked, as they watched lousy strike after lousy strike.

Y/n shook her head, baffled at the step backwards in terms of progress.

After an hour of standing in the snow-capped mountains, she could feel her eyes begin to droop, the lack of sleep catching up to her.

"Go home, you look like you're about to pass out."

Y/n looked to her second. "You sure?"

"Please go, I don't want Azriel hunting me down because I let you hit the ground," she laughed, waving her off.

Y/n smiled through the exhaustion. "I could kiss you right now, but I'm afraid if I take a step I'll crumble. I'll see you tomorrow."

And with that, she winnowed back to the townhouse.

Thank the mother Azriel had arrived moments before her, because the moment she landed in the foyer of the townhouse, Y/n's legs folded beneath her. Before she could hit the ground, Azriel's arms were around her, supporting her body and pulling her upright.

"Are you alright?" Azriel asked, concern swirling around in those beautiful hazel eyes.

Y/n mumbled something incoherent, head resting in the crook of Azriel's neck.

"I didn't quite catch that, love."

She lifted her head, eyes barely open. "I said that I'm exhausted."

Y/n watched as Azriel's face sagged in relief and a smile graced his lips. Lips that moments later, made contact with her forehead.

"Well then, let's get you to bed, mate."

"Why'd you have to say it like that?" she mumbled, curling further into his warmth as he lifted her into his arms, beginning the trek to their bedroom.

"Like what?"

"Like you want to initiate something other than sleep, which I would be fully on board with at any other time."

Azriel laughed heartily as they crossed the threshold of their room. He placed her on the bed with utmost care, brushing a strand of her from her face.

"Another time, love. For now, get some rest. I'll be here when you wake up."

Well, after a long while... I'm back! I really don't recommend getting sick while studying law... not a fun experience :(

But anyway, this was the idea I had where I couldn't decide between Az and Rhys, but your wish was my command, and Azriel was a clear winner:)

Things are only getting worse for Rishi Sunak's Conservative Party in the UK. These are self-inflicted wounds and they're happening just two weeks before a general election in which the Tories are predicted to have their worst showing since World War II (if lucky) or the Napoleonic Wars (if unlucky).

One of Rishi Sunak’s close protection officers has been arrested over alleged bets about the timing of the election. The officer was arrested on Monday on suspicion of misconduct in public office, the Metropolitan police said in a statement. The news comes a week on from the Guardian’s revelation that Rishi Sunak’s closest parliamentary aide, Craig Williams, had placed a £100 bet on a July election just three days before the prime minister named the date. As a result of that incident, the Gambling Commission conducted a wider investigation and found information that led to the decision to investigate the officer. The Metropolitan police said it was contacted last Friday by the Gambling Commission, which informed the force that it was investigating alleged bets related to the timing of an election by a constable from the Met’s Royalty and Specialist Protection Command.

There's also a scandal involving the wife of Chris Philp – Sunak's Minister of State for Crime, Policing and Fire. Philp takes a hard line on law and order but apparently his wife is engaged in corporate espionage.

A leading businesswoman who is married to the policing minister, Chris Philp, has been reported to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) by a former employer and is being sued in the high court over allegations of corporate espionage. Elizabeth Philp, 40, whose husband has called for “zero tolerance” to all crime, is accused of data-handling offences and unlawfully using confidential information from her former employer to set up a rival business. She denies the allegations and is countersuing her former employer, whom she accuses of cyber-attacking the website of the company she subsequently founded.

The pro-Conservative Daily Telegraph on its front page placed a map of 2019 election results next to its projections for the July election. On the UK political color palette: Red = Labour, Blue = Conservatives, Orange = Liberal Democrats, Yellow = Scottish National Party, Light Green = Plaid Cymru (Party of Wales), Medium Green = the Greens.

Wipeout indeed! Savanta, which conducted the poll the Daily Telegraph based its 2024 map on, projects between 481 and 516 seats for Labour (depending on how results are analyzed) in the 650 seat House of Commons.

Sunak may see the writing on the wall and could be thinking of moving to California if he personally gets booted from his seat in the constituency of Richmond and Northallerton. Richmond and Northallerton is currently considered a tossup.

Brony Song Tournament: Results of Round 4

(Warning: long post. Many stats)

The two biggest landslides were both Discords, winning by 87.8% and 77.3%.

Discord (remix) actually had a bigger landslide than any match in Round 3 (including itself), though the average winning margin this round (66.6%) was still a bit less than Rounds 1 2 and 3 (68.4%, 67.13% and 67.07% respectively)

The two closest matches were Mad This Time vs Fluttershy's Lament (52.3% or 103 to 113 votes) . The last of many close matches involving Mad This Time.

and Rainbow Factory vs Anthropology (50.2% or 477 to 481 votes)

Rainbow Factory vs Anthropology was the second most voted-in poll, behind only Discord (Remix) vs Entropy. I guess when Awkward Marina goes up against the most iconic brony songs, everyone turns up.

3/8 matches were upsets, the first of which was Fluttershy's Lament

Below is how many songs by (or featuring) each artist were in the bracket in round 4, followed by how many of those have made it to the quarterfinals.

Unlike the artist ranking, the character ranking has been very consistent. Luna has been number one pretty much the whole time, except for the very beginning, when she was at a close second behind Rainbow Dash.

Pony Polka pieces performed perfectly. 4 of the 8 matches were between two Brony Polka songs, and of the 2 matches between a BP song and a non-BP song, the BP song won. 75% of the remaining songs were in Brony Polka.

I had added 27 songs to Shunks' original list. 2 (Enemy Undefined and Brony Polka) made it to Round 4. Both were eliminated. Every remaining song was ranked by Shunks, the lowest-ranked being G**** Bard at #31/100.

Of the 2 songs in Round 4 made up of clips from the show, only Fluttershy's Lament remains

Some perspective, if it helps, since “rarepair” can come off as a little restrictive!

The rule for ineligibility in @cr-summer-wildflowers most recent exchange was that any pairing with over 500 fics was not allowed. That seems like a pretty tight guideline, right? You’d probably assume certain ships, even if they’re not a flagship ship, would be restricted with it? However, some examples by campaign:

Ashrym seems like a fairly popular C3 pairing at times, doesn’t it? As of tonight, they’ve got 373 and fall well within the included ships range. Or what feels like a recent C3 powerhouse, Callowmoore? Only 145.

What about Vox Machina? They’ve had a lot more time to grow their fic counts. Perc’ildan just barely squeaks past with 481. Or its counterpart, Vexleth? Even less, at 331. What about one of the fandom’s most beloved ships (and the winner of the non-endgame ship poll I ran last year), Vaxmore? Surely that has enough to not be allowed.

And finally, the Mighty Nein. They dominate the Top 10 relationship tags, so which pairings of theirs fall below 500?

How about a canon couple? Veth and Yeza only clock in at 461 fics. Or another for Veth— while their platonic tag is in the Top 10, romantic Widobrave only have 283 tags. Or, a OT3 that contains two of the Nein’s most popular ships? Shadowidomauk only has 172 fics.

All this to say, “rarepair” is being used broadly here. I just wanted to provide some context, and I hope this is helpful information!

I’ve had an idea and I’m wondering if there’s interest in it. Sooooooo-

Some notes:

- this would follow a similar rule for submissions as the Wildflower Exchange does, pairings with a number of fics above a certain threshold would be excluded (if they’re the focus of a fic).

- would be primarily romantic (and possible queerplantonic?) pairings, as I don’t wish to step on the toes of the lovely @critter-genfic-events folks, they’ve got a wonderful list going over there, highly recommend you check out what they’re doing and the fics they’ve showcased.

- the goal here is simply to give some love to underrepresented pairings and especially to the people who write for those pairings. As a rarepair fic writer myself, I know how rough it can be when it comes to getting eyes on your fic and I would love to do what I can to help soothe that.

Sitting at the dinner table you read through a bit of the outline for your 8th book, your mind kept thinking about your other books. The Twitter poll should be done, I’ll check it. Opening up your official Twitter account you checked the pole. It didn’t surprise you too much that the 7th book won. There seemed to be a bit of a bias that came with your new fans. Regardless, you liked interacting with your fans, there were some fan accounts you recognized. It was strange, you didn’t know it when, but you really did come far.

You just wish you could remember that. You thought that maybe you would find some things of interest in your social media, but you were hesitant. You didn’t want to see things about him, you weren’t ready to look at those kinds of things, so you avoided it. Thinking about him you are reminded of the only traces of him left in the house. You looked at the empty plate in front of you, all the food is gone except for a few stray grains of rice.

When you would wake up from your deep sleep, he was gone and on the dinner table was a plate with your favorite breakfast covered in plastic wrap. On it would lay a note saying, ‘There is food in the fridge, you just need to heat it up.’ The food mostly suited to your taste, you were grateful for it, not having to worry about something so simple as you rested at home. But weirdly enough you hadn’t seen him since that day. It’s Saturday now would he still be working now, it’s pretty late too.

This man could help you recover some of your memories, so seeing him would be optimal. Well, it’s only been two days, he surely can’t be busy the whole time. You decided to give it some more time, he did have his own life after all. You didn’t expect that for over a week you wouldn’t see him, but every day there was food waiting for you to eat. You could have called him or text him, but you had this conflict of wanting answers and not wanting to see him.

You were still unsure about him, it seemed illogical to not trust him at this point with all the things you’ve been told, but you had your reasons. Thoughts of the past came up. Being around men that weren’t your friends still made you feel a little uncomfortable. It’s not like you didn’t want to move forward, but taking the first step was scary. You would sometimes wonder if you made the right choice, but Haknyeon didn’t seem like a bad person. These thoughts fought with each other making you hold off on saying anything about the situation. That is till the curiosity about yourself got the better of you.

Round 3 predicted winner: NamiVivi is gonna win this, but Dofladile supporters will be very creative. I know I'll vote DofuWani, but NamiVivi are maybe the real power couple against the glam and sham power couple? I hope to get surprised with this one, but it's unlikely.

Round 4 predicted winner: Shuggy vs NamiVivi. Oof, both are really popular. If the Shuggy supporters pull out the propaganda, they might go through.
