Red chain series PT2! Volo and Ingo's Pieces are meant to be opposites to each other: One is reaching up for the heavens whereas the other falls from its favor...
Tumblr media
Volo- Giratina Compared to the rest in this Series, Volo is actively resisting the influence of the Red Chain- going as far to almost break it as he reaches for his goals
Tumblr media
Ingo - ?Arceus? Based on the Original Hero theory Ingo was suppose to carry out Arceus' will but was essentially discarded; the red chain goes slack, and he is left to be lost without memories.

so break me anew
[image id: a digital drawing of Day, a pokemon trainer oc. The entire drawing is done in white, yellow and red on a black background. Day is shown in front of the symbol of Arceus, which is bathed in red. It is unclear if they are being risen up or if they are plummeting down. Their expression is twisted into pain and fear, golden tears rising from their eyes. Their hands are upturned with light spilling out of them, and light also bursts through their shirt and out from their heart. At the top and bottom, words read in all caps "I am mourning / I am morning". End id]

Oh! I'm curious to know how the Legendaries are acting in your Akari/Kiki project!
Are they more "Thoust art but a mortal, yet braveth enough for I to seek your company" or more "Hey, I know u a mortal and don't live long but u kinda cool, mind if I chill with you for the rest of your life bro?"
These tought just kinda poped in my mind hehehe xD
I actually had to think about this for a while and I made some notes to help me going forward LOL. So the Legendaries in Hisui are worshiped, like Palkia and Dialga and are treated like gods but the clans. But ultimately they are Pokemon. So I think what makes them differ besides from the GRAND COSMIC POWER from say, the average Pikachu, would be their intelligence, or their cognitive ability to interact and communicate with people. Like, most if not all pokemon can, but Legendaries in particular would operate more like kami. They understand human language and can respond in some way or even speak it.
Sort of like say, Princess Mononoke, where the older gods like Moro the wolf can speak but the newer generations are like more intelligent animals who have lost their ability to do so. That's how Legendaries operate in my AU. They're gods in the sense that they are ancient, powerful beings but can form human connections if they want to. Most don't, but Palkia and Dialga in particular are very fond of the clans since they literally worship them.
I think the Lake Trio would make more appearances because they don't generally live on a whole different plane of existence. They would be very skittish but also curious about people. But their powers can hurt humans if they're not careful and they aren't very careful. They just cannot really comprehend humans are squishy.
Post PLA Palkia and Dialga I think would pop in on the fringes to check on their worshipers, kind of like seeing bigfoot in the distance every time you have a bbq. They would only actually go out of their way to interact with those who have earned their respect, so essentially the Clan Leaders every so often, or Akari. There's lots of reverence from the clans so it's more of a "how art mine believers faring these days" sort of interaction a few times a generation since they have zero concept of time. While with Akari, who treats them like strong pokemon rather than gods because Akari is technically a modern trainer, they would visit more often because they are more curious about them.
They're kind of like stray cats that just wander in whenever to check on their human and possibly bug them for treats. I'd also like to think that come the future since worship of Palkia and Dialga isn't as in your face as Arceus, Palkia would actually take an interest in Ingo since he is technically a member of the old Pearl Clan. So as a Warden he's something like a priest to Palkia. Ingo would need to discuss with his brother whether or not Palkia is allowed on the subway.
But long story short Legendaries play favorites, especially with their "champions" (protagonists of that particular game) and Akari is no exception. Only thing is there's a bit of a pissing match going on between Arceus, Palkia, Dialga and Giritina for their attention post PLA. Arceus will sometimes call or FaceTime them on the arc phone because why can't god face time their favorite little guy? Palkia and Dialga will actually visit sometimes. And i think I mentioned this before but I like to believe post PLA Akari would erect a tiny shrine for Giritina since the clans have little in home shrines for their particular deity and they felt bad that Giritina was being left out. Because of this Kieran is essentially blessed by satan.
Also the legendaries are not used in battle here. As funny as it is to see Arceus use like, perish song or something in a battle, unless they are fighting eachother (other legendaries) it's considered disrespectful in the AU to even consider doing that. Pokemon world religions or whatever. It would be like sending Jesus into a cage match people would lose their minds.
Also in case anyone is wondering yes Palkia and Dialga would absolutely pop into the BB Academy Terrarium for funsies were Akari to go back to school. They would have cryptid status.

I must ask, is it normal to have a dream where a Latias explains that you and another legendary Pokemon are supposed to battle each other, and that you're supposed to "save the world"?
I'm asking for a friend.

HELLO HI
God I love the Submas fandom, all of you are so nice <3
In any case, I have a silly Au for y'all to munch on.
Allow me to introduce you all to Covalent Twins :]
Tumblr media
Covalent
Adjective
- Relating to or denoting chemical bonds formed by the sharing of electrons between atoms.
Or in this case, the sharing of Emmet between 2 Ingos from different timelines NSNDNNDDD.
This Au is essentially the answer to the question: "doesn't being sent to the distant past inherently mean you are also now long dead in the future you just left?"
The answer is yes and no btw
The explanation for this involves a lot of time nonsense that I'm very bad at explaining but the Tldr is basically this:
When Ingo gets sent to the past, this creates a connection between the past and the future. This makes time get all fucky and split into two separate timelines (Timeline A and Timeline B)
Timeline A:
Time in this timeline runs parallel to the future as long as Ingo stays within it (essentially, if Ingo stays in the past for 2 years, then 2 years pass in the present).
Due to this connection, Akari (aka Dawn) gets sent to this timeline (But not Timeline B) and the game events of PLA play out (+ a lot more Ingo bonding because uncle Ingo supremacy)
Akari manages to get her and Ingo sent back home with the power of Arceus, causing both timelines to merge back together again into one cohesive line with only the events of Timeline B being remembered by history.
Ingo and Emmet get their happy ending.
This Ingo got sent to Hisui when he was 29, stayed there for 2 years, and went home when he was 31.
And Timeline B:
This timeline was created as a cannon fodder timeline so Akari and Ingo can keep doing time shenanigans in Timeline A without disturbing the space time continuum even more.
This timeline is therefore not connected to the future the same way Timeline A is.
The Ingo of this timeline (Nicknamed "War" or "Warden" for simplicity.) lives through the PLA game events but with Rei taking the place of Akari.
War doesn't bond with him the same way Ingo does with Akari because Rei isn't a faller.
The events of the game are the exact same (minus the Arc phone, Rei taking the place of Akari, and catching Arceus).
Despite Rei calming the nobles and catching Palkia and Dialga, he is still not the chosen hero. Warden is unable to go home or regain his memories.
Warden lives in Hisui and serves as a warden for the Pearl Clan for a total of 7 years before dying alongside his partner pokemon, Gliscor (nicknamed Nimbasa), while protecting Lady Sneasler from a Zoroark attack at the age of 36.
Warden drifts as a ghost for many years, with only Nimbasa the Gliscor as company. He watches his friends grow old, and eventually die. They pass on to the afterlife, but Warden stays on earth, wandering the Alabaster Icelands and Mount Coronet, searching for people from a life he can't remember even in death.
Warden watches as Hisui changes into Sinnoh. Jubilife Village becomes Jubilife City. Pokemon species die out and new ones are born.
As the world slowly becomes more and more familiar, the great Sinnohs, Palkia and Dialga, take pity on the lost warden, and decide together to lead him home.
It may take 150 years, and many miles of travel, but Warden is pulled by an unknown force towards the Unova region. Though he is unable to touch anything or speak to anyone, it's all so painfully familiar.
He is pulled towards Nimbasa city, (ah! That's where he got the name from!) and eventually to an apartment.
There, he is greeted by a young girl, barely 17. A man in black, who looks exactly like him, give or take a few years and a few scars.
And a smiling man in white. The man he has been searching for for over 150 years...
And they're staring at him, truly staring at him, not through him.
Why is the man in white crying?
*evil laughter.mp3*
So yeah! The twins have an older brother now :D
I mean he's dead and also Ingo just 5 years older and from a different timeline but still!!!
If you've made it this far I believe you deserve a gold star ⭐ and also some art for your troubles.
So here's War and Nimbasa ↓
Tumblr media
And some fluffy interaction between War and Emmet as a bandaid.

If you guys have any questions regarding how this Au works, or are interested in seeing more of it, don't hesitate to shoot me an ask :D
I hope I enjoyed reading about my silly Au, even if it was a bit long lol.
*fades back into the void of Submas fics.*

if you’re in the mood, spare some volo wins au x reader thoughts? <3
uhhh why not
cw: Volo being Volo, bad ending, unhealthy relationships, Volo is basically yandere honestly, dark content
pairing: Volo/Reader
📜Volo💫
⭐️ Really, in the end, how he ends up winning and who his interest is plays a major role in quite a few things. But, truthfully, Volo's interest is hard to truly capture and being someone he views as both a direct threat and asset is truly the easiest way. In those final moments before he gains everything he has ever desired, he would admit to being in the throes of a madness. To be so close to what he wanted, he would threaten just about anyone to ensure what he wants. So, unfortunately, you had your life threatened. Not that it was ever really his goal to kill you – No, that was the furthest possible thing he wanted. You were just the source of many conflicting emotions within him. But, in the moment that he brought Arceus to its knees and usurped its place in the world – He felt his madness and mania blend into some horrible esoteric knowledge that might have brought more uninclined minds to certain extinction.
⭐️ His goals – He understands it was far beyond what anyone comprehend. To erase everything as it were – You, the world that you knew, and pokemon – And rebirth this world into one that he found more suitable. All the heartache and cruelness he had witnessed; the elimination and destruction of his people and the ire of those around him for being an outsider. He both wanted to bring the world to its knees and make a place where peace markedly reigned. A peace that he would shape with his own hands. Arceus was nothing but a decent thought as he stood above the very world he had destroyed and recreated in an instant. You laid before him, unconscious and blissfully unaware. He stood with you on a platform far above the peak of Mount Coronet, where the region under you both was reduced to blind worship of him and nothing of the bloodshed and conflict that previously echoed out.
⭐️ When you awoke, you gazed in shock at the changes that had overcome the blond you had thought you knew. Long hair streamed down almost like liquid gold, while grey eyes held a certain verdant and crimson colouring within a glow. A bright halo of a familiar ring stood out behind his back. Whatever humanity the already ethereal man held was cast out. You truly felt the weight of your failure on your shoulders. Arceus had tasked you with stopping him. Your stomach twisted as he brought you up to your feet with an unknown force. His hand grasped your chin. That madness still swirled in those eyes, only marred with the unspeakable power that he had gained. “... Well, chosen one?” His tone was mocked. You could only swallow dryly.
⭐️ In truth, you are his chosen one – Quite above everyone else that existed in this twisted world, but still leagues beneath Volo. Your only place was at his side, and he despised having you wander too far from him. There was some irrational fear in him, partly of you somehow gaining the power to overthrow him, even if he knew that was impossible. However, even worse was the thought that you might dare give your attention to someone unworthy of it. Which, to him, was everyone but him. The only company outside of him that you were allowed was Cogita, who was nearly as mortified as you were by what Volo had done. Except, she had partially expected it. If you admitted to loneliness, he would sigh and attempt to mend it with pokemon. There was little interest from him in allowing you to talk with other human beings.
⭐️ His love is a toxic, burning one. It is all-consuming. He expects your attention to entirely be on him. There is a demand for you to both worship him and hold genuine love for him. In this world he created, it was you alone who could recall him as a human – Only you knew of that side of him. In attempting to make his perfect world, he only ended up isolating himself further. But, he failed to deign that with any true care. None of that mattered when he had you all to himself. Once more, just as in Hisui, you were isolated. Like him. The loneliness and desperation would see you in his arms willingly as it had before. His feelings are genuine, unfortunately, but his love was never going to be a kind one. At least now, he can give you whatever you so desire – and he will. Anything you even merely think about wanting will likely be given to you in order to keep you happy.
⭐️ In the end, he is truly some kind of terrifying, authoritarian god with many complexes that still eat at him even in his position. Most of the people of this twisted world he calls a paradise are barely resemblances of people from the old world. Or perhaps that truly is just the separation between you and them. Pokemon exist, but they seem much unlike the terrifying beasts of Hisui and more like barely sentient beings. Solely those pokemon he wielded were anything of note – Worshipped as pieces of him. Giratina, too, had its own place chief among them. It is a hollow live, but there was nothing anyone could do to change it… Unless there was?

Has anyone done a pla au where Emmet figures out where Ingo went and approaches Arceus about it, and Arceus makes him a deal that if he agrees to aid and protect his chosen one he will be reunited with his twin, and Emmet agrees but instead of just sending him back in time like he thought, Arceus turns him into one of the three starter pokemon, and now he's got to figure out how to function as a level five cindiquil (or whatever, protags will always be Akari/Typhlosion to me, but whatever floats your boat). He can now speak to pokemon, but not to people, he has abilities he understands in a textbook sense, but not in practice, he's small and has stubby little paws instead of hands, and he has to somehow take care of a terrified, displaced child in a world where people are not nearly as kind and helpful as he is used to. (People helping each other seems to be a big cultural norm in most mainline pokemon games I think? Dunno. Covid brain)
I can't even imagine the turmoil he'd feel when Ingo finally shows up and he has to deal with the fact that, not only does Ingo not recognize him in his new form (which he had been somewhat prepared for) but his brother doesn't remember him at all.
Eventual happy ending of course, because I like those, but yeah. That's the idea.
Anyone done it yet?

Unlike last Mermay I think I mmmmight have figured out Volo? Maybe?
Volo wants to destroy and then recreate the world. Why he wants to do this is not important to the AU, or me, so we'll skip over that.
He learns of a way to summon Giratina, a dark and vengeful Sea Serpent, with a blood ritual. But it fails. And it fails so bad that he creates a rift in the sky, causes distortions in space and time, causes the sea levels to rise, plants and animals to die, and also causes the Noble Pokemon to become enraged and dangerous. (And also causes Arceus to summon Dawn)
Lesson learned, he goes to learn what caused the ritual to fail, and Volo's blood won't work. He needs the blood of both the Land and Sea, and he has no idea what this means, so he waits. And he doesn't have to wait long. The new Survey Corps recruit Dawn shows him the shell she has, not knowing that Volo knows exactly what that shell is, what it means, and what it can do.
While she's Arceus' Chosen one, she is both of land and sea, which is exactly what Volo needs. And so he waits some more, continuing to play the friendly merchant role, waiting for Dawn's lies to crumble and for the rift to grow so bad that Dialga and Palkia awaken from their slumber to THROW HANDS
Volo quickly spirits Dawn away when she's banished from both humans and merfolk, and despite Cogitas warnings, he's easily able to convince her that they need to summon Giratina, who can solve all of their problems :)
This obviously doesn't happen. Now, with Giratina's powers, Volo becomes a powerful being, and tries to kill Dawn out of jealousy (and because she can stop him)
Dawn climbs to the very peak of Coronet with the help of her friends to quell the raging spirits of the three Gods, who drag Volo down into the depths with them...unsure if he's truly gone.

Queuing posts for most of my AUs! Check out this Masterpost! (Disclaimer! - Please don't comment about their iconic knife bangs! I left them off this reference to keep their faces fully visible.)
Chosen Hero Ingo AU
-Premise- What if Ingo was meant to be the original hero sent by Arceus?
Ingo is visited in a dream by a power higher than he's ever needed to comprehend. Among a selection of many other candidates, Arceus has chosen him to complete a very important task.
It outlines this duty carefully. Should he choose to accept, he will be sent to Hisui- Now known as Sinnoh, to an era long past. He will help the people of the land strike balance with the immigrant people soon to arrive, and using his knowledge of capturing, training, and raising pokemon, show the people the strength of what bonds can be achieved. If all this can be achieved, then together they can prevent a disaster that will fester in the coming years.
If Ingo agrees to these terms, there will be conditions. To prevent the cross of future and past, he will give up the majority of his memory. He may not take any of his current partners with him, nor anyone else. However, he will be given a tool, a communicative device to guide him wherever he may falter. When his duties are complete, he will be returned home safely and his memory restored without fault.
He asks without pausing what will happen to Emmet. Arceus assures him that, while his disappearance may be sudden, should all go well he will be returned to his twin's side in less than a year's time. For the sake of preserving the state of time, no one in the modern day can be informed of the nature of what has happened.
After much deliberation, and a long, harrowed bout of silence, Ingo agrees to these terms. He is transported to a time far before his own, his partners are deftly taken off his person, and his memory fractures.
All would have been well... But the accident that occurred only days into his arrival strips him of is Arc-Transceiver, leaving him injured, without memory, and worst of all, without guidance.
-Noteworthy Points- Not many notes for this one! Ingo's design includes the arc-transceiver but he doesn't have it at the moment. As you may be able to tell by the age lines on his face, the scars, and the length of his hair, Ingo has been in Hisui far longer than he was meant to be. I haven't decided how this AU ends yet.
-Links- Currently none! I will update this post with links to comics/art/writing if/when I post any!
