Pokémon GO Tour: Unova - Los Angeles Was A Lot of Fun With Some New Twists to In-Person Events

Despite the fact I had such a busy weekend I unexpectedly managed to fit in enough to do a load of the Tour stuff and finally got a shiny Snivy too. Very last minute campfire meet-up meant that I could actually do a few raids & it was so nice to be around other people nerds (instead of feeling like a pain for playing).

Considering I started the weekend with 3 ultra balls & that was it, a lot of stops spun. Not helping to change my tendency for lack of preparation though.

Cheese the Shiny Latias

Pokémon GO - February 25th 2023

I found Cheese during the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn - Global event while I was at work. The pub I worked in at the time didn't have a lot of customers during the day, so my co-workers and I went through a long phase of playing Pokémon GO during our shifts, which resulted in me catching Cheese!

Usually I wouldn't share Shinies found in Pokémon GO to this blog, but Cheese was the first Shiny Legendary I caught myself, and the first Pokémon I ever reached Best Buddy status with in Pokémon GO!

As a result, Cheese is special to me. I've since transferred her over to the main games and have been attempting the Ribbon Challenge with her.

Since the Best Buddy Ribbon doesn't transfer over to the main games, I like to keep the Best Friends Ribbon on her, since it's the closest thing.

On December 15th 2023, Cheese was finally allowed into Scarlet & Violet, meaning she's finally able to get her Paldea Champion Ribbon!

SINNOH TOUR!

Pretty good event, although I was really unlucky. Still had fun!

Pokémon Go can be such a good way to find interesting things to see in a new town. When I go on one of my random bike rides in the countryside I always look up the pokestops and gyms nearby. Yeah there’s a lot of playgrounds but also weird little things no respected tour guide would put on a map, like a fence painted to look like a dragon or a stone with beautiful ceramic birds glued on.

Got any other alternative ways of finding interesting things in a new town that doesn’t involve talking to the locals at the pub (I’m never staying THAT long)?
