A number of insurance companies neglect podiatric services. In fact, insurance companies do not cover many important podiatric services. The main reason for that is that they handle and take care of illnesses that are concerned with the feet and other ailments. In a similar manner, a podiatrist also treats minor injuries. However, these podiatrists diagnose and treat many foot and leg-related diseases.

This is why professional and efficient podiatry medical billing services are essential for every practice. This is where expert podiatry billing software like Unify Medicraft can help you simplify your podiatry medical billing.
The healthcare industry has very complex compliance regulations regarding medical billing services.
Therefore, partnering with a podiatry medical billing company is a strategic move that can transform your revenue, and save time, whether running a small or a larger medical practice.
Continue reading as Unify Medicraft takes us through compelling ways that partnering with podiatry medical billing services improve your billing process.
Who is a Podiatrist?
A podiatrist is a healthcare professional who has the expertise of diagnosing and treatment of the foot, ankle, and lower leg. They deal with all the diseases, conditions, and symptoms relevant to foot or ankle.
Podiatrists are the experts of a broad range of medical issues such as diabetic care, sports medicine, wound care, and other surgeries of the same niche.
They have a unique set of services, patient demographics, and specific medical billing and coding.
They must also understand the services to be covered under each insurance plan, use the correct codes for such services, and submit the right documentation to maximize their reimbursement.
All of these indicate they need podiatry medical billing software to function perfectly.
Benefits of Outsourcing Podiatry Medical Billing
Access to Expertise
Podiatry billing is a medical field which requires specialized knowledge of coding guidelines, payer terms, and industry trends.
Podiatry medical billing services brings in loads of expertise which is helpful for your podiatry medical billing.
It ensures that all your billing processes are managed by experts who know complexity of podiatry billing.
Timely Insurance Filling
There is a time limit set by every insurance company under which the claim should be filed.
Failure to comply with this timely filing limit means the insurer will not reimburse you, and you can’t appeal to them. This means you bear loss out of own pocket.
Hiring a podiatry medical billing company helps you organize your billing process for performance and accuracy.
It ensures that all the claims are filed in a timely manner with continuous follow-up.
Regular follow-ups ensure that the claims are tracked properly and are reimbursed timely.
Accurate Coding
Codes for podiatry are constantly changing and updates in billing codes must be kept current by the physicians and their billers to avoid claim denial.
Keeping up with these regulations is tough for podiatry billers. You can solve these problems by outsourcing your podiatric medical billing, ensuring peace of mind and security in your practices.
Reduced Billing Errors
Medical billing errors cost podiatrists their revenue and time. Additionally, according to statistics, billing errors occur in nearly 80% of insurance claims.
Healthcare providers have to deal with a lot, and they cannot handle podiatry billing along with that. This is where outsourcing podiatry medical billing ensures your claims are specific, low risk of costly errors significantly.
Transparent and Detailed Reporting
Obtaining error-free and well-detailed performance reports from your in-house billing staff often requires thorough training and micromanaging the team.
In contrast, hiring a firm offering podiatry medical billing services makes the process easier and professional.
They will also provide detailed analytics and insights into your revenue cycle, financial health, and claim status.
This will help you devise strategic decisions for the growth of your organization
Saves Time and Money
As a podiatrist, you have a lot on your plate already and billing should be out of all the things you worry about.
When you hire a podiatry medical billing company, it allows you to focus on your practice which improves patient care.
It improves patient care, satisfaction scores and footfall which in turn boosts the overall growth of your organization.
Reduced Denial Rates
According to statistics, claim denials are one of the highest sources of revenue loss for healthcare professionals. As a podiatry biller, you must create proactive strategies to reduce denial rates.

Advantages Of Pain Management EMR In Healthcare Sectors
Tumblr media
The healthcare sector is a complex ecosystem with many interconnected players all working toward the same goal: improving patient health and well-being. Pain management software serves as a central repository for patient information, such as medical history, pain assessments, treatment plans, and medication records. This eliminates the need for multiple paper charts, lowering the likelihood of errors and increasing accessibility. Pain Management Electronic Medical Records (EMR), a revolutionary solution poised to change the face of pain management. Pain Management EMR systems, which digitize and centralize patient data, have the potential to transform how pain is assessed, monitored, and treated. In this blog, we'll look at the limitations of traditional paper-based systems in pain management and the numerous benefits of implementing Pain EMR in healthcare sectors. The benefits are numerous and undeniable, ranging from increased data accuracy and accessibility to streamlined workflows and better patient outcomes with EMR - EHRS.
Benefits Of EMR System:
Easy-to-Use Interface: The user-friendly interface of our EMR software is designed for ease of use, ensuring that medical staff can navigate and utilize the system efficiently, even with minimal training. This accessibility improves adoption rates and facilitates a smoother transition from traditional paper records.
Setup, Customization, and Training Services Available: Recognizing that each pain management practice has its unique needs, our best EHR for pain management comes with comprehensive setup, customization, and training services. This ensures that the software aligns perfectly with your specific workflow requirements, and your team is well-equipped to leverage its full potential from day one.
Integrated Scheduler: The integrated scheduler enhances appointment management, enabling seamless scheduling of patient visits, follow-ups, and treatment sessions. In podiatry EHR, it improves time management across the practice, reduces scheduling conflicts, and enhances patient satisfaction with more timely and convenient appointment options.
Billing Module: With an inbuilt billing module, our Pain Management EMR software simplifies the billing and invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and reducing the time spent on financial administration. This module supports streamlined billing workflows, from claim submission to tracking and reconciliation, facilitating improved cash flow and revenue cycle management.
Eligibility Tracking: The eligibility tracking feature verifies insurance coverage in real-time, reducing the incidence of claim rejections due to coverage issues. This preemptive verification process ensures that services rendered are covered, thereby minimizing financial risks and enhancing operational efficiency.
Conclusion :
The implementation of Pain Management EMR systems represents a watershed moment in the healthcare industry's approach to managing chronic and acute pain. Clinics have reported measurable results following the integration of EMR, demonstrating the technology's profound impact. Practice efficiency has increased, with EMR software providers devoting more time to patient care rather than administrative tasks. Error rates in documentation have dropped dramatically, resulting in safer, more reliable patients. If you're ready to see the transformative power of EMR in your practice, we're here to help you every step along the way. For more information or to schedule a demonstration, please call (480)782-1116. To find out more about how EMR - EHRS solutions can help your practice, visit our website.

ABC Reveals Podiatrist Ripping Off Veterans
Tumblr media
Thank Adele Ferguson for shining the spotlight on this alleged blatant exploitation by a Sydney podiatrist of vulnerable Australians. ABC reveals podiatrist ripping off veterans and the evidence stacks up. This illustrates the malfeasance by medical professionals occurring within the Medicare system and other government schemes. We know that billions of dollars are being rorted by some within the medical fraternity in a betrayal of the trust put in them by the Australian public. The 7.30 Report shows the complete lack of oversight present in so many government-funded schemes in Australia. The idea that all doctors are good guys and worthy women is being shown to be a costly fallacy for tax payers down under. Thank goodness for investigative journalism.

7.30 Report’s Adele Ferguson Investigates Podiatrist
“MARGARET FAUX, HEALTHCARE BILLING EXPERT:  There seems to be this focus on patients as ATM machines. ADELE FERGUSON, REPORTER:  Australians spend tens of billions of dollars a year on health services. MARGARET FAUX:  Our health payment systems are like open cheque books. ADELE FERGUSON:  Medical professionals use a coding system to bill patients and healthcare providers. MARGARET FAUX:  The way these systems work basically is, you put in a number saying, I did this thing, now pay me. And the answer comes back, here you go, here's your money. ADELE FERGUSON:  Some health practitioners have built businesses that target government schemes for injured workers, the disabled, elderly and Department of Veteran Affairs or DVA. MARGARET FAUX:  You have got NDIS. Medicare, DVA, private health insurers, aged care workers, comp, CTP - they're the main payers.” (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-10-23/workcover-patients-being-turned-into-unpoliced/103012472)

Podiatrist Dr Sanjay Parasher Investigated For Bogus Billing
The Adele Ferguson ABC investigation reveals that a Dr Sanjay Parasher has allegedly being systematically ripping off patients from the DVA by falsifying claims for treatment sessions which never occurred. The Foot and Ankle Clinic of Australia’s Dr Sanjay Parasher goes on social media platforms bragging about how much money he makes from podiatry. Meanwhile, he employs admin people to basically commit crimes on his behalf whilst following his instructions. The litany of wrong doing is listed in the ABC report and involves fake referrals, falsifying treatments by a factor of 10 in some cases, targeting veterans in Perth when his clinic is based in Sydney, infiltrating the private medical records of other medical practitioners, bogus billing, fees for no service, and these to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars. This may well be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the malfeasance rife in government funded schemes around Australia. The scumbags have found the loopholes and lack of proper oversight and are getting rich at our expense.
Tumblr media
Australians Find It Hard To Believe There Are Scumbag Doctors The illusion of the white lab coat creates a myth of ‘the good doctor’ in the minds of many Australians. Yes, there are many hard working and honest medicos. However, there is a growing section of cynical scumbag doctors rorting the system to get rich at the expense of Australian tax payers. The billions of dollars of wastage and unjustified claims bloating Medicare and other government funded schemes is legion. All of this bad money, like all the other bogus insurance claims in Australia, bloats our economy and has an inflationary affect. If I had a dollar for every account of insurance fraud I hear from friends re-their household insurers I would be a wealthy chap. This massive industry-wide scam is happening daily on our shores and making Australia a much more expensive place to live in. The reluctance of governments to actually do anything about this is testament to their tacit involvement in looking the other way. We do not have proper, well-funded oversight in this country, which allows players to run rampant in this regard. Toothless tigers are everywhere in the halls of government capable of wagging their tails and rolling over for any and every inducement proffered.
Tumblr media
Dr Sanjay thought he could show off his very expensive sports cars and luxury lifestyle to the world via social media knowing that Australian oversight is blinder than bats without radar. Schemes for DVA and NDIS are neglected like the patients they purport to look after. It is another illustration of the half arsed Australian way. Hang your heads in shame folks. Medicare Physiotherapy Rebate
Tumblr media
If you have a Chronic Disease Management or Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, you’re entitled to up to 5 physiotherapy Medicare sessions per calendar year. Ensure you bring your EPC/CDM referral and Medicare card with you to your physio consultation.
Physiotherapy is an effective treatment option for many chronic pain conditions. However, not everyone is aware of the benefits and eligibility for this service. To know more about Medicare Physiotherapy Rebate, visit the MVP Rehab Physiotherapy website or call 0450603234.
The Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) program, previously known as Enhanced Primary Care (EPC), enables patients to receive subsidised allied health services including physiotherapy. This is done through GPs creating referrals to allied health practitioners that are part of the CDM scheme. The GP will determine if you are eligible for this plan based on your medical condition and care needs.
GPs can prepare two types of CDM plans for their patients: GP Management Plans and Team Care Arrangements. The latter is used for patients with complex care needs who require a team of care providers which includes the GP and at least two other allied health professionals, such as physiotherapists.
Under the EPC/CDM, Medicare will cover up to five physiotherapy sessions per calendar year. However, the way these five sessions are allocated is at the discretion of your GP. The GP will also nominate which allied health professional you will see, which is where we come in!
If you’re suffering from a chronic musculoskeletal condition like osteoarthritis or a recurring knee injury, Medicare may cover some of your consultation costs. To be eligible, you must have a referral from your GP and meet certain criteria.
If your GP places you on the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) or Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, you’re eligible for subsidised allied health consultations (like physiotherapy) up to five times per calendar year. Your GP will complete the necessary paperwork to place you on this plan.
Unlike Original Medicare, which once had a cap on how much it would pay yearly for outpatient therapy services (like physical and occupational therapy), CDM has no annual limit. You can divide your allotted allied health appointments any way you want (five physiotherapy consultations or three physiotherapy and two dietician sessions, for example). Your GP must also refer you to the specific practitioner you’re seeing, and they must report back to your GP on your progress.
Medicare rebates are an excellent way for Australians to lessen the burden of costly musculoskeletal healthcare. The cost of health in Australia is high and it can quickly add up. Medicare is an essential safety net for many people and their families, but it is not always enough. That is where Medicare physiotherapy comes in.
As long as you have a GP referral and your Medicare card, you can see a physiotherapist who is registered with the Medicare CDM (Chronic Disease Management) or EPC program. You can claim a maximum of 5 visits per year for allied health services like physiotherapy, podiatry, occupational therapy and speech pathology.
Your physio will take full payment for your consultation and then Medicare will reimburse you $56 back onto your card. This can be done by either bulk billing or by patient claims. If you have a practice management system that integrates with Tyro’s Medicare online service like Power Diary, the process is much quicker as you can swipe your client’s Medicare card during their consult.
Medicare pays only a portion of the costs for outpatient therapy services. Each service is identified by a Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code and has a specific reimbursement rate associated with it. This fee schedule is determined by a combination of factors including location, equipment needs, inflation, and patient characteristics.
Physiotherapists are generally reimbursed 80% of the cost for each unit of treatment. This means that patients are responsible for the other 20% of the treatment cost.
Patients that have a GP referral can access up to 5 allied health sessions per calendar year with a Medicare rebate. This includes physiotherapy, podiatry and exercise physiology. To know more about Medicare Physiotherapy Rebate, visit the MVP Rehab Physiotherapy website or call 0450603234.

The Importance of Patient Engagement for Pain Management EMR Software
Patient engagement is a fundamental aspect of providing high-quality care and improving the patient experience. In the context of pain management, patient engagement becomes even more crucial as it directly impacts the effectiveness of treatment and the overall satisfaction of patients. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software plays a significant role in facilitating patient engagement and enhancing the pain management process. In this blog, we will explore the various ways in which patient engagement is vital for pain management EMR software.
Tumblr media
Technologies Used to Enhance Patient Experience
With the advancements in technology, patients now have greater control over their healthcare journey. The best pain management EMR software, such as the 1st Providers Choice EMR Software, and digital solutions like virtual waiting rooms have revolutionized the healthcare industry. These technologies enable healthcare organizations to prioritize the patient experience by offering seamless services such as online bill payment options and convenient appointment scheduling. Patients now have easy access to their personal health data and can actively participate in their own care through online medical services and educational resources.
Patient Experience and Satisfaction
Patient satisfaction is directly linked to the quality of the patient experience. Several factors influence patient satisfaction, including the way healthcare providers interact with patients. According to 1st Providers Choice, the top five factors influencing patient satisfaction are:
The doctor showed concern for the patient as a person.
The doctor listened to the patient's concerns carefully.
The doctor explained things in a simple and understandable manner.
The doctor responded to all of the patient's queries.
The healthcare provider demonstrated knowledge of the patient's medical history.
Additionally, studies have shown that physical comfort, emotional support, and consideration of patient choices are key factors in determining patient satisfaction. Pain management EMR software can address these aspects by fostering a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Communication Between Patients and Providers Is Crucial
Effective communication between patients and healthcare providers is vital for better patient outcomes and satisfaction. However, administrative tasks like EHR use can sometimes hinder effective communication. To overcome this challenge, certain strategies can be employed to maintain effective communication and improve patient satisfaction:
Utilizing EHR voice dictation capabilities allows providers to maintain eye contact with patients, appear less preoccupied, and be more attentive to patient cues.
Allocating dedicated documentation time in the schedule frees up physicians to give patients their full attention while accurately capturing their experiences.
Improving the user interface of the podiatry EMR software system simplifies navigation and enhances the overall user experience.
Utilizing medical scribes can streamline the documentation process and reduce the administrative burden on clinicians, allowing them to focus more on patient care.
Improving the Diagnosis Process
The diagnosis process presents an opportunity for healthcare organizations to further improve the patient experience. Reducing wait times for diagnostic results and employing patient-friendly technologies, such as quieter scanners, can significantly enhance the overall experience for patients. Staff members should be readily available to assist patients with any needs, such as utilizing patient kiosks, and the ambulatory EMR software should provide individualized care throughout the clinical encounter.
To Sum It Up
Patient engagement plays a critical role in pain management, and EMR software is a powerful tool for facilitating patient engagement. By leveraging technology and employing patient-centered strategies, healthcare providers can enhance the patient experience, improve outcomes, and increase patient satisfaction. With the right pain management EMR software in place, medical practices can provide seamless services that not only benefit existing patients but also attract new ones.
