A lot of ppl bring up this scene in s1 ep5 to villainize Jack Crawford, his reaction makes them point and go "see?! He's a bad guy!" or take it as a big gotcha! moment. But like- this happens after the scene where Hannibal attempts to alienate Will from Jack which is DIRECTLY CALLED OUT BY WILL btw. Although it's not like Will snapped at Jack directly because of this, the tension was already rising, but Hannibal was obviously spurring it on and some people in the audience took the bait too.
Don't get me wrong, Will is justified to be angry, we sure know he's going through it the whole show, but Jack is mainly his boss right now. There's a certain level of professionalism they gotta maintain (which does add to the strain between them, I'm not saying it's a good thing). I just think a lot of people get upset at Jack here for the wrong reasons. I don't agree with Jack most of the time either, but I understand his motivations and viewpoint. I disagree with him because I think his methods are flawed, not because he's mean 💀
