"rock n roll will take you to the mountain" is my favorite song, i used to play this game at my cousin's house, so at home i would watch rock n' roll on youtube and follow along in my bedroom

#quail art #maiceo and esperanza are probably the worst people to be playing this game but they do have fun (dont look at maiceo they're having fun)#maiceo never exercises so the arm lifts are enough to get them breathing heavy (being a parent needs to fix this. its pathetic.)#and esperanza has a lot of chronic pain especially in her torso but she would rather deal with the pain than simply not play Just Dance 4 #she can do one round before she needs to sit out and giggle at her friend's moves #the best players are the other three. for sure.#ruse actually dances (i mean its club dancing so not professionally) but she's got rhythm and can keep up #lwaukee has really good reflexes so he's good at a dance even if he's unfamiliar with it - he can keep his eyes on the bottom of the screen #and georgiana has the longest stamina and could play for hours without issue while maiceo wheezes like a small dog allergic to air

okay okay okay so in trying to come up with a headcanon for what instrument Pete would play if he needed to (clarinet) I've come to a very important youngest-sibling-of-poor-parents conclusion:

it isn't what instrument peter would want to learn to play (listen, I know it's clarinet, but in a world where it isn't) because those are expensive and I don't think pete is musically driven enough to really bother putting a lot of effort into convincing his parents to buy him an instrument or saving up for one on his own,,,,,,,,, no.

whatever instrument pete would know how to play is whatever ted would buy because he was convinced knowing how to play an instrument would make girls think he was hot

and then (very important note: this is coming from a bass player myself) the only answer to what a pathetic, kind of gross guy with very little perception of what women would find hot who probably heard one time on twitter that guys playing acoustic guitars were cringey would buy and promptly never practice (leading to his little brother stealing it and teaching it to himself when he was bored and under stimulated) is absolutely bass guitar

#‘lightly seared’ my fingers on this 100+ degrees hotplate earlier and just. o w.#it didn’t leave any marks but my fingertips still sting a little.#thank goodness im a thumb player for mobile rhythm games. else i’d have to play on hard difficulty (priorities)#overall a 0/10 experience. the initial pain is about the same as that of an acid burn but the pain lingers more than the acid burn does…#actually wait this is worse than an acid burn. both don’t leave long-lasting marks or scars or anything but. hm.#the initial marks from acid burns last for about 3-5 days so… hmmmm.#hope my fingers will uncook themselves soon though. the pain’s getting kinda annoying.

derangement aside I do recommend getting into bms, even if you don't end up playing any of the charts. the amount of insanely creative songs and music videos that get released every year For Free just for this community game is amazing and the fact that some get picked up and licensed for commercial games and artists who started out making work for bms get commissioned for them as well is just. idk

#blah blah if you play rhythm games even a little bit i can almost guarantee youve heard at least one song that originated from bms #and that song wad probably conflict BUT THERE ARE OTHERS and you can play the original charts for free on your computie #bemuse.ninja is an in-browser bms player if you want to try it out but dont want to download anything. it comes with songs as well #theres a really good english language guide for beatoraja which comes with links to song packs and skins and the like #beatoraja is just. quite convenient to set up actually i never tried lr2 and quite frankly from what ive heard im a little bit afraid to #idk look tl;dr if you want a rhythm game with basically infinite content and big free song events multiple times a year #then there is a Game For You. and no you do not need a controller there are good keyboard layouts for it just avoid the default keybinds #bmsposting

um just played the new rhythm hive update and saw lesserafilm so i choose kazuha because i was like "oh cool they are here" and didnt fucking realize till it was too late that now im stuck with kazuha as my wallpaper no matter what group im play,,, i was under the impression that rhythm hive always seperates groups thats why i didnt even think of the possibility of being stuck with a group when playing other groups,,, now im jun-less and so very upset, not to mention that i share the account with my sister and shes distraught that its not v,,,, the new gameplay is even worse than before i fucking hate this game, go back to how it was or at least just separate the groups again, i can deal with bad gameplay if my background is jun (or v)

i think i can officially say that, while I think elden ring is still my favorite lore-wise, sekiro's gameplay/combat is undoubtedly my favorite in the soulsborne series

#maybe it's just bc im good at it lmao but like yeah #it's just so fun #in the others it's just roll>attack>roll etc.#in sekiro there's rhythm in the combat and as someone who's good at osu i fucking love sekiro #like. elden ring i am decent at. but there's undoubtedly hundreds of people better than me #but sekiro.. obviously im not the best but i actually genuinely feel like im *good* at it.#maybe it's also partially how little focus sekiro puts on improving your stats and how it leaves most of it to your skill as a player #in all the others you've got like 10 stats to prioritise and level #in sekiro you've got your health and your attack power. the rest? learn the combat mechanics

not mad at him anymore i remembered he is the only dps in the game who is fun to play* and now i feel better

#*hanzo is fun when we are winning and horrific on days where i cant hit shots #idk what it is about other dps but playing junkrat scratches such a meaty animal part of my brain. its so visceral #echo its like pew pew pew hehe but like. i am IN THERE i am KILLING THEM i am RIPPING THEM APART WITH MY TEETH #i think part of it is how easily disoriented i am like every mine launch puts me into a whole new world so the chaos is like 20x as intense #and it feels sooooo good to get into the rhythm. to be hitting direct hits and getting the angle of the jumps right and timing the grenades #it feels SO good nobody else scratches that itch every other dps is wayy too straightforward #even the other fliers like. pharah is not fun for me i think her mechanics feel clunky #i just dont feel. as impactful i guess. im a very aggro player at the best of times and a little too stupidto be playing any of the hitscan #i always end up really blurry and disoriented after i get up from the game when ive played a long junkrat oje tho. wherve am i

recently i decided to start playing a new mobile rhythm game as i wait for sif2 to come out in english and a day later i nearly chopped off the top 4mm of my index finger by accident (blanket knitting incident). is the universe itself trying to stop me.

#unfortunately for the universe im a thumbs player so index finger injuries dont change much LOL although because i hold the phone in the #rest of my fingers sometimes i put a little too much pressure on the busted index finger and i need to mel blanc scream #also the knitting incident was very foolish. i was sewing a bunch of knitted squares together into a blanket and accidentally cut #my finger when trying to cut an end. i normally use really dull scissors but these were super sharp so i think i wasnt used to it orz #also the game i started in ensemble stars. i was actually gonna start prosekai but that kept crashing so i had to go with ensemble stars #very fun so far and i really love the art. its also shocking how good the cg is. im a love live person im not used to this kinda quality #mostly started playing because im inexplicably enamored with that little green bitch from edens high note in faith conquest #but the rhythm gameplay is very similar to sif so im having a bit of fun! i'll probably keep playing until i get bored (bad with mobage)#(its a miracle that i had gone through the tutorial before in an attempt to play it a year or so back. i literally hate mobage tutorials so)#(so so so so so so much. its the reason i cant start most mobage i have the tutorials HJFKLDHKJFLDS)#(but i had already done it apparently so i was able to just kinda jump back in)#ALSO the finger seems to be healing fine it is only like 3-4mm and i didnt cut it all the way #so its staying together under a bandaid fine! be careful with ur knitting scissorss

#sasha speaks #oboeposting #i like my piece and it definitely shows off some skill but it is not like a Flashy/Showstopper/CompetitionWinning kind of piece #it's much more. mozart concerto than goosens or martinu #which. like. i definitely prefer it that way both as a listener and as a player #i like music that makes sense #but not knowing exactly what all the competition i'm up against is like...#well i glanced at the undergrad clarinet's piece and it is definitely going to give me a run for my money #it's like 1960s and filled with like every rhythm imaginable so #plus i know the player is really good #as happy as i am with the shape of my concertino i just don't know that the piece itself is flashy or impressive enough to win a competition #ah well. whatever happens will happen
