How to Play Fantasy Sports in a Responsible Way

As fantasy sports have gained popularity, especially in India, online fantasy sports are flourishing, and the number of players is increasing exponentially. Here, we have detailed a few pointers that will help you play fantasy sports responsibly.

Lord of the Rings Online is objectively a kind of shitty game bc it's almost 20 years old and free, but the way they handles races is actually so funny because it's just like

Human: Kill 5 prison guards to get to lvl 2 then chill with Aragorn in a fortified town :)

Beorning: Kill a few flies on a quiet farm to level up and gently say goodbye to your family as you head off to save Middle Earth <3

Dwarf: Walk with Gandalf and assist in a prison break. That should take you to lvl 2 like all the others so you're free to go chill with your buddies up north.

And then there's the High Elf:

Oh you want to play HIGH ELF??? You pretentious fucker. You poor, poor bastard. Start with thousands of hit points. Start at in the middle of a battle. You like reading monologues? I hope so because there's a 10 minute debate between lore accurate simlarilion characters. There are no farms or cities here. No respite from destruction, only war. Endless soldiers spawning to the east. Did you know you can take passive fire damage? Well you will when you fall into the fire pits.

Flies? Prison guards? No, go save the fucking prince what else are you here for Jesus fucking christ. Once you survive that, go fight Sauron himself. Oh you failed? Really? The high elf FAILED? You pass out in agony. When you wake, it's been thousands of years. Your king is dead. The world has moved on without you. You are weak: reduced to just a few of your once numerous hit points.

Elrond orders you to sail west from Middle earth and get proper rest. Right now you are nothing. Helpless. But in time... you just might regain enough strength to fight valiantly once again.

Congratulations: You have now reached level 2!

Some platonic ffxv headcanons:

Luna's favourite books growing up were crime and supernatural fiction. She liked learning about regional folktales, myths and superstitions too.

Meanwhile, Ravus as a kid preferred the historical and fantasy adventure tales. Y'know of knights, heroes and chosen ones.

Ravus taught Luna how to drive during one of his rare breaks from imperial military training. (You could say it was something of a crash course)

Noctis, if given the opportunity and he had no pressing responsibilities, would 100% rearrange his sleep schedule to catch a rare fish.

Ravus definitely jumped down from the top of the stairs at Fenestala Manor as a kid, but he'd never admit to it.

Luna's more likely to play as a character of a different gender in a MMO/RPG than Noctis. She'd relish the chance to be someone else for a change while Noctis, especially when he's younger, feels more comfortable playing a character close to home.

Older Noctis would totally be down to play as a GIRL (guy in real life)

Somehow, Ravus is the one with the most money in ANY of the games they play. (Don't ask him about his methods)

Bonus:

Ignis looks the best playing pool (out of the four). He's probably been hit on while playing.

Gladio is the first to buy the latest karaoke game. (He claims it's for Iris but it's not)

Prompto owns more rare trading cards than Noct because that's one aspect of life where his luck shines. He's lucky when it comes to gacha, prize competitions, claw machines - you name it.

(Noctis has average rng/gacha luck btw)

Gladio has the highest number of bowling strikes, not that anyone is keeping count.

They all play that squid-octopus splat game together. It's PVP time baby.

No one wants to play mahjong. They watch a movie instead. (Well, Ignis would play but only with other serious players. Wait, that's Ravus. Ignis joins Biggs, Wedge and Ravus' mahjong sessions)

See, Milgram said there's this kid who developed a hero complex from his video games. He got caught up in fantasies of killing the bad guy, he took justice into his own hands, and it killed someone for real. And they could have said yeah, he's a shoot-em-up game guy. He glorifies the military and oogles the tactical gear in the games. Or maybe he has fantasies of an action hero, car chases and explosions and machine guns. And that would have been such a nasty guy, yeah? I'd hate every bit of him and it could have been fine!

But no! They said he likes knights!!! Fucking knights!!! They said, he has fantasies of picking up his righteous fire sword and defeating monsters. He imagines himself in shining armor and vibrant landscapes. He's unbearably lonely and just loves the thought of leading a team of trusted adventurers who will have his back no matter what. And so now I'm screwed because I'm sitting there like FUUUUCK!! That does feel righteous!! That is the dream! I have had those exact thoughts after playing my little knight video games!! There's nothing wrong with wanting those things!! ARGGH!!

Losing my job next week~

(I knew it was happening, it's a temp job that is coming to an end rather than a surprise firing or anything like that, but still, it sucks. I really liked this one!)

It's hard not to feel bummed out about it, even though I knew it was likely to happen, and even though it had already been extended like four or five times past when it was originally supposed to end. It just sucks when you have a good thing going and it comes to a end, is all.

But that's life, isn't it? Nothing lasts forever, no matter how much you want it to. No matter how much everyone actually wants it, sometimes budgets run out. That's fine.

anyway I want to play Fantasy Life. Pick a Life for me.

Since LinePlay is closing down on April 18, 2024…I wanted to take a few screenshots of my character, clothes, and room. ₍^. ̫ .^₎

It was fun while it lasted! I actually fell off playing for a long time but occasionally logged in for dailies. This gives me flashbacks of TinierMe shutting down, and I miss that feeling of having an online community and friends. 😢

I’ll miss the cute clothes and avatars…but life goes on. Until another game like this comes around~!

Wait… do you think that maybe the murder of sonic the hedgehog was a test of the waters of sort for maybe a longer more spread out game? like sega keeps bringing up d&d like things to do with the characters and sonic in general so it seems like they are possibly hinting at something..

I mean it’s obviously a stretch. just kinda a thought cause a point and click seems ideal for that sort of silly spinoff. Tho they could just make an actual 3d game for that, they’ve done it before with secret of the rings on the black knight.

Also if they were hinting for a point and click fantasy spin-off they hinted pretty early on lol if they weren’t already working on it during / before mosth
