Roger: You going with Brian, or with us?

Brian: Rufus will have to go with you, there's no room in my car. Sorry Rufus.

Brian: What do you mean how? There's no more seats in my car.

Roger: How are there no more seats? You, Anita, your Emily-

Brian: We've got the kettle and the coffee machine in the back so it's the first thing set up in the new kitchen.

Roger: Can't that go in the boot or the middle?

Rufus: ... I'm starting to feel a bit unwanted.

Roger: Sorry, son, you know I don't mean it like that.

Brian: There's.... There's a few things across the back seats next to Emily.

Roger: Alright. *to Rufus* Looks like you're stuck with us.

Rufus: Can I choose the music?

Roger: Rory's driving, it's up to her.

Rufus: So that's no.

Brian: Right, Emily if you take the kettle, one of the lads will take the coffee machine and I'll take-

Roger: Did you seriously drive all the way down here with a teddy bear in the middle seat?

Brian: Christ! Where the hell did you come from?

*Emily takes the kettle, Anita takes the suitcases which have come out of the boot and they leave them to it*

Roger: If you don't know how babies are made now, Bri, it's too late to tell you.

Brian: Funny. You got here quick.

Roger: I overtook the van when it had to slow down. Oh that thing's seen better days.

Brian: I know. It's why he rode in the middle. Coudln't risk him getting all wrecked in an ovestuffed suitcase or a box falling on him. Emily kept a good eye on him...

Roger: You daft sod.

Brian: ... hmmm

Roger: Go on, you put him to bed, me and Rufus will lead the van in. Steve should be here soon too.

What if he hadn’t seen the notice? What if he hadn’t mentioned it to Roger? Would the fates still have aligned to bring them together? Or would an astrophysicist and a dentist once have sat randomly side by side in the stands at Live Aid and felt a strange frisson?

I'm an OG Swiftie and a Maylor/Tatty shipper since 2014! Idk if they're still together at this moment, but I also don't believe they are 100% over either. You don't go 7-8 years, basically removed from someone's life (with both living their lives, having serious relationships with other people, etc) to being in each other's orbit again....and feelings are still there or at least there enough to resurface....without that being a very special connection between you. So, yeah, I see some of the little clues people are seeing, and I hope you all are right. Because to me, Matty and Taylor make soooo much sense, and I think they owe it to themselves and each other to really give this thing they share between them a real chance. So whatever is happening, I hope they've both taken some time to digest things and to prepare themselves and their relationship (romantic or platonic) for whatever the haters choose to throw at them. And I hope in the end they end up together and are willing to tell everyone who doesn't matter to fuck off.

What’s the policy for background romantic relationships in this event? Like if I write a fic centering around platonic Joger, am I allowed to mention/feature Veronica, or have Maylor or Froger as a small side ship as long as the side romantic ships don’t overtake the main gen pairing?

Yes, romantic ships can co-exist with platonic ones! The only rule is that it shouldn't overtake the platonic one and the platonic relationship remains the focus of the story😊
