Director. #80
Fighting With The Melody ⸸ The Director
i. welcome to your fate end of the line it's just a little explanation of your desperate situation
The Emeritus bloodline was entertaining, but it also barely provided any actual drama anymore. Aside from one member who had no idea he was a part of said bloodline. Well, nobody really knew about it, actually. Only his mother and naturally, the Director himself.
And so, when he got bored of the three "legitimate" brothers, he decided to replace them with an oh, so convenient Cardinal. Nihil wasn't too happy with that, but the decision was never up to him.
Of course, Cardinal Copia took the offered position as Ghost's new frontman. Why would he not? He was meant for it, whether he knew it or not. His fate was sealed the very day he was born, whether he liked it or not.
~
ii. you're a slave to my design it's just a complex application to a deadly confrontation
The Director always seemed to somehow know things. He seemed to know exactly when Nihil would die and chose that same specific day to make Copia take the title of Papa. Just to add some funny little irony to the situation.
Copia's and Imperator's plastic surgeries also seemed somewhat ironic to him, in a way he couldn't quite put his finger on. It was almost like a mother and son bonding activity, even if Copia was never going to find out Imperator was his actual mother and not just a very caring mentor. All because of his orders, of course.
The fall of the father was the rise of the son, who then subconsciously followed in his mother's footsteps, blissfully unaware who was really pulling the strings.
~
iii. you are so dead dancing with the enemy and you are so dead fighting with the melody
He couldn't help but chuckle at Copia's obsession with staying alive. He might've fooled the crowd that he was okay with the Brisbane ritual being his last concert of his last tour, but he knew the fear in his mind. It was so, so fun... Adorable, even. Because in the end, Copia was dead the moment he was born. Kept alive solely for The Director's entertainment.
No matter his fighting, that was it. He could live for a bit longer. A few weeks. Maybe even months.
But the very moment The Director gets bored of him?
Copia is already dead.
~

Y'all I don't think I've posted much on here about it (and lord knows I don't have a big following so don't think anyone will read thks) but I just had my 8 month review post reconnecting surgery for my facial nerve and the plastic surgeon is happy with my progress!
It's been a wild fucking time for sure.
Context:
I had a lump in my saliva gland get removed surgically; during said surgery, my facial nerve was cut, resulting in facial palsy on the left side of my face. I had tk be flown down from Bundaberg to Brisbane via Royal Flying Doctor Service (neat and terrifying experience), and have a second surgery to reconnext/place a graft on the nerve tk join up within 24 hours of the original surgery, through the same suture site.
Monthly speech rehab appts, regular follow ups with the surgical team in Brisbane, twice daily exercises ans scar management.
I have minimal feeling in my ear, I'm still working on getting a full blink back, I dribble all the time, and my smile is wonky. But I am making some motherfucking progress!

Discovering the Benefits of a Brow Lift in Brisbane
In the ever-evolving world of cosmetic procedures, a Brow lift Brisbane has emerged as a popular choice for those seeking a more youthful and refreshed appearance. This surgical procedure can effectively address sagging brows, reduce forehead wrinkles, and create a more open and alert look. For residents of Brisbane considering this transformative procedure, understanding what a brow lift entails and its potential benefits is essential.
What is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a cosmetic surgery that aims to elevate the eyebrows and smooth the forehead. As we age, the skin loses elasticity, leading to drooping brows and deep furrows between the eyebrows. This can create a tired or angry appearance, which many people wish to change. A brow lift can rejuvenate the face, restoring a more youthful expression.
Types of Brow Lifts
There are several techniques used for brow lifts, and the choice often depends on the individual’s anatomy and desired outcomes:
Classic Brow Lift: This involves a longer incision along the hairline, allowing for significant lifting of the brow and smoothing of forehead wrinkles.
Endoscopic Brow Lift: This minimally invasive technique uses small incisions hidden in the hairline. A tiny camera is inserted to guide the surgeon in repositioning the brow, resulting in less scarring and a quicker recovery.
Temporal Brow Lift: Targeting the outer edges of the brow, this method is ideal for those primarily seeking to elevate the outer brow and reduce crow's feet.
Choosing the right technique involves consultation with a qualified surgeon who can assess your individual needs and discuss potential outcomes.
The Benefits of a Brow Lift in Brisbane
Youthful Appearance: One of the most significant benefits of a brow lift is its ability to create a more youthful look. By lifting the brow, you can reduce the appearance of sagging skin and wrinkles, giving your face a vibrant, refreshed appearance.
Boosted Confidence: Many individuals report increased self-esteem and confidence following their brow lift. A more youthful and energetic look can positively impact both personal and professional interactions.
Enhanced Facial Harmony: A brow lift can improve the overall balance of facial features. A well-positioned brow can create a more harmonious look, enhancing the eyes and cheeks.
Long-lasting Results: While aging continues after the procedure, the effects of a brow lift can last for many years. This long-term solution is appealing to those looking to make a significant change without needing frequent touch-ups.
Tailored Approach: In Brisbane, many skilled cosmetic surgeons offer personalized consultations, allowing patients to discuss their concerns and desired outcomes. This tailored approach ensures that each brow lift is designed to meet the unique needs of the individual.
The Brow Lift Procedure
The brow lift procedure typically lasts between one to two hours and is performed under general or local anesthesia, depending on the technique used. After the surgery, patients can expect some swelling and bruising, which generally subsides within a week. Most individuals can return to normal activities within ten days, although strenuous exercise should be avoided for a few weeks.
During the initial recovery period, it’s crucial to follow your surgeon's post-operative care instructions. This may include keeping your head elevated, using cold compresses to reduce swelling, and taking prescribed pain relief medication.
Finding the Right Surgeon in Brisbane
Choosing a qualified and experienced surgeon is crucial for the success of your brow lift. Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon with a proven track record in cosmetic procedures. Reading patient reviews, viewing before-and-after photos, and scheduling a consultation can help you find the right fit.
During your consultation, discuss your goals and any concerns you may have. A reputable surgeon will provide honest feedback and help you understand the potential risks and benefits of the procedure.
Conclusion
A brow lift can be a life-changing procedure for those looking to enhance their appearance and boost their confidence. With its ability to create a more youthful, alert look, it’s no wonder that many people in Brisbane are considering this option. By understanding the procedure, its benefits, and how to find a qualified surgeon, you can take the first steps toward achieving the look you desire. If you're ready to explore a brow lift, consult with a trusted professional in Brisbane to discuss your journey toward rejuvenation.

How Long Will a Hip Replacement Last?
Hip replacement surgery is a highly effective solution for individuals suffering from chronic hip pain due to conditions like arthritis, injury, or degenerative joint disease. Patients who undergo hip replacement in Brisbane, led by Dr. Mahendra Meta, often wonder how long their new hip joint will last. This blog explores the factors that influence the longevity of a hip replacement and the success rate of the procedure.
Longevity of Hip Replacements:
Modern hip replacement implants are designed to provide long-term relief from pain and improved mobility. According to research, the majority of hip replacements last for a significant period of time:
15 to 20 Years: For most patients, a well-performed hip replacement can last between 15 to 20 years. Many patients report pain-free movement and an enhanced quality of life for this duration.
25 Years or More: Advancements in materials and surgical techniques have increased the durability of hip implants. Studies show that nearly 58% of hip replacements can last 25 years or longer with proper care and lifestyle modifications.
Factors Affecting Hip Replacement Longevity:
Several factors can influence how long a hip replacement will last:
Type of Implant: The materials used in the implant (such as ceramic, metal, or plastic) can impact its lifespan. High-quality implants can offer better durability over time.
Surgeon Expertise: The skill and experience of the surgeon play a vital role in ensuring a successful hip replacement. Dr. Mahendra Meta’s expertise at Brisbane Orthopaedics ensures precision and optimal results.
Patient Lifestyle: Patients who engage in low-impact activities and maintain a healthy weight are more likely to enjoy long-lasting results. Excessive strain on the hip joint, such as high-impact sports or activities, can reduce the lifespan of the implant.
How to Prolong the Life of a Hip Replacement?
To maximize the longevity of your hip replacement, it’s essential to follow your surgeon’s recommendations:
Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle: Maintaining a balanced diet and staying active with low-impact exercises will help preserve your new joint.
Regular Check-ups: Routine follow-up visits with your surgeon can ensure the implant is functioning correctly and address any issues early on.
Post-Surgery Rehabilitation: Proper rehabilitation exercises are key to building strength and maintaining mobility after surgery.
Conclusion
Hip replacement surgery can provide lasting relief from chronic pain and significantly improve your mobility. With proper care and expert surgical techniques, many patients enjoy the benefits of their hip replacements for decades.

Hip Arthritis Treatment in Brisbane
If you're looking for a hip arthritis treatment in Brisbane, you have a few options. You can try THR (total hip replacement), Arthroscopy, or Joint replacement surgery. You can also try non-surgical treatment like anti-inflammatory medications, weight loss, or modifications of daily activities before considering surgery. THR involves insertion of an artificial component called an acetabular component into the acetabulum, often reinforced with screws. The component can be made of ceramic or plastic.
THR
If you're looking for THR hip arthritis in Brisbane, you've come to the right place. At the Brisbane Hip Clinic, Associate Professor Patrick Weinrauch has a focus on hip joint disorders. He is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience. He is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. In addition to providing expert care to patients, he contributes to educational programs and scientific research.
A common cause of hip pain is osteoarthritis, which is the result of thinning or damage to the cartilage surrounding the hip. The condition causes pain and causes the formation of bony spurs and cysts in the hip. It's also a common side effect of overuse of the joints. Some patients may also experience hip tendonitis, an inflammation of the hip tendon. This condition is common among athletes and people who engage in sports.
Arthroscopy
If you have experienced hip arthritis, your surgeon may recommend arthroscopy as a treatment. This is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a camera and special instruments to access the hip joint. This method allows the surgeon to perform the procedure with less tissue damage and blood loss. As a result, recovery times are faster and the patient can return to normal activities sooner. In most cases, patients are able to resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Some patients can go on crutches after the procedure.
Patients with femoro-acetabular impingement may also benefit from hip arthroscopy, which is a safe, effective alternative to open surgery. However, patients with this condition should only undergo this procedure if other treatments have failed to improve their symptoms. The procedure can also help prevent the condition from progressing to end-stage arthritis.
Joint replacement surgery
Hip arthritis is a condition characterized by pain in the hip. There are several options for treating the condition, including surgery, non-surgical treatments, and physical therapy. Non-surgical therapies are generally the most successful and involve a combination of multiple strategies. Injectable therapies can reduce the symptoms and severity of pain. However, a patient may still experience intermittent flare-ups and pain. The goal of treatment is to alleviate the symptoms and minimize the potential for joint replacement.
Patients with severe arthritis may find that non-operative methods are ineffective. Hip replacement surgery is the most effective option for these patients if non-operative treatments fail to provide effective relief. The type of surgery performed depends on the type of arthritis, the age of the patient, and the underlying condition.
Trochanteric bursitis
If you have pain in your hips, it may be due to trochanteric bursitis. To treat this condition, you should visit a medical practitioner. They can prescribe anti-inflammatory medications or injections to reduce the swelling and pain. You may also want to try gluteal stretches, which involve lying on your back and stretching the hip.
This disorder affects the hip and can have significant effects on daily life. At first, it may only be mildly painful, but later it can interfere with your ability to walk, move, and perform other daily functions. It typically affects people over the age of 50, but it can also occur in younger people.
Surgical procedures to repair or reconstruct the shoulder
Shoulder arthritis treatment can cause severe pain and limit an individual's range of motion, and a surgeon can recommend a surgical procedure to repair or reconstruct the shoulder. Surgical procedures to repair or reconstruct the shoulder will help restore stability and function to the affected joint and help prevent recurrent dislocation. These procedures involve the repair of torn or stretched ligaments and bones. They can be performed either as open surgery or arthroscopically. Open surgery requires a larger incision over the shoulder. Arthroscopic surgery can also be combined with a Bankart repair if there is minimal bone loss in the socket.
Following surgical procedures, patients must undergo extensive physical rehabilitation to ensure that the shoulder is functioning properly. The recovery time will be between six months and a year. The patient must follow the prescribed therapy regimen diligently. The first month after surgery, patients should not lift more than five pounds, and they should not use the arm above their waist for six weeks. A sling is used for the first six weeks. After six weeks, patients can start active strengthening exercises to improve muscle strength in the area surrounding the shoulder joint.
