Alright, since this is apparently going to be a week of harvesting (and planting) herbs, I'll give you a quick rundown on how I do it.
Cut the herbs. Depending on the herbs you may want to be more or less strategic in where you cut them. Mint and sage you can kind of just hack away at, but do a little research on the herb in question so you know what you're doing.
Wash the herbs. I don't have a lot of pollution going on in my garden, but there's insects and spider webs and such that are best dealt with at this point.
Dry the herbs (part 1) -- this stage is about drying the water you washed them in. I use a salad spinner to get most of it off, then I let them sit in the basket part of the spinner, which I set on my dish drainer until they're dry to the touch.
Tie in bundles to hang.
Put paper bags over them -- ideally the thinner type like a lunch sack, for air flow. This keeps spiders from spinning new webs on your nice clean herbs. Also good for keeping dust from settling, if you're like me and liable to forget about your herbs for a few weeks.
Dry the herbs (part 2) -- this stage is about drying out the water content from inside the herbs for long term storage. Hang your bundles in a cool dry place.
This looks like a lot but it's really pretty simple and easy, especially once you've done it once or twice.
If you're making infusions and such, it's always a good idea to dry your herbs first, as the water content can cause them to go bad faster.

one thing that having fish and looking up fish advice online has showed me very tangibly is that if you love something but you know nothing about it and don’t learn you will hurt or kill it in trying to do something good for it. So many people over-feed their fish to death because their fish “look hungry”, or prevent their tank from cycling fully because they’re doing 100% water changes every week and end up with fish dying of ammonia or nitrite spikes, or love their pet fish but have no clue that it’s actually going to grow up to be a foot long and will need a much larger tank, etc etc etc. And obviously a good many of these are neglect or poor assumptions about fish as pets and most could be solved with looking shit up, but there are always some cases where the person in question loved the fish but was woefully misinformed, or panicked, or thought they were much more prepared than they were, or any number of things, and they’re devastated by the fact that they’ve hurt something they care deeply about. Often, though, I see these cited as either cases of “loving them too much” or “not loving them enough” or with a veil of “anyone who really loved this animal wouldn’t do this to it” and I think that’s… incomplete? Because the problem isn’t how someone feels or whether they care, the problem is how much work they put in to finding and filling the gaps in their knowledge. The problem isn’t loving something too much or not enough because the love isn’t relevant. Someone can NOT love their fish and take amazing care of them, and someone who loves their fish desperately can be a TERRIBLE fish keeper. I don’t know how generally applicable this is as a theory or even a metaphor but I do think the problem of knowledge vs emotion does extend further than fish.

Spent my morning decorating my windows with Valentine's Day gel clings with my toddler, then attempted to make him a little hydroponic planter to grow mint in and to keep in his playroom. Y'all I'm pretty sure I messed up the planter, so I'm just over here with fingers crossed that something grows and I don't disappoint him.

One of my students has perfected the art of writing a lot of words while saying absolutely nothing at all.
One entire freaking page of talk about "distinct growth patterns" and "notable growth trends" (the trend was no growth, the patterns were also no growth) and how one experimental group "mirrored the control group" (also didn't grow), then the whole thing over again in another section, just worded slightly differently. It's a pain in the butt to try to sift through everything to find the actual elements that I'm looking for.

How many farmers here would post their progress on the internet?
And how many would post the really weird stuff they encounter on it? Like livestreaming a trip to the mines or something.

so funny when someone calls you to plant something and you say hey but you can do this, it is easy, you literally just put it in the ground and it turns out they know that but have formed some kind of superstitious belief about your "green fingers" making all the difference in whether the plants live.... girl i do not have plant powers i just google plant care instructions sometimes 😭

Whenever someone complains about a game being unintuitive, before taking their words at face value, you need to ask "Did you play the tutorial? Or read the instruction manual? And maybe look through the menus a bit?" There's a nonzero chance that they just, say, assumed every farming sim would play exactly like Stardew Valley.
"Why didn't it tell me crops are planted in a 3x3 area?" It would have, if you'd played the tutorial.
"I don't know where to get water." I think the tutorial might mention that, too.
"Why didn't I get money from my harvest?" When the shipping guy said he takes festival days off, he meant it. It's not his fault you don't know how to budget.
"Why can't I ship this?" Have you tried looking at the item description? What kind of market do you think there is for weeds?
"Why can't I see my-" Have you considered maybe shelling out some money for the remake? I think you might like that better. Except you'd still need to play the tutorial to know how crops work, and that's apparently beyond your capabilities.
