And we’re back! Not just to the podcast but to one of @carogables & my FAVORITE shows for a second installment. Yargı takes up so much space in our lives so we had to talk all things Season 2! ⚖️

A Comment on Yargı Season 3
While I’m overjoyed to get another season of Sema’s writing, the drug that is PinKaan (and IlCey), and the beloved characters of Yargı, I think the show needs a finite number of episodes at this point. This season, the production team and the audience had the unexpected shock of an essential cast member, Mehmet Yilmaz Ak, who brilliantly portrayed the character of Pars Seckin, leaving the show. It’s pretty obvious in episodes 54-56 with the Ridvan/Ozge arc and fallout that the rest of the characters (esp. Ceylin in 56) are slightly distorted in order to accommodate this on such short notice and allow for as much of Sema’s original story plan as possible. After watching episodes 59 and 60, it feels like Sema and the writing team have gracefully salvaged what they could and used the distortions to reinforce the ongoing story. And that’s amazing! We are so lucky to have a writer like Sema at the helm of Yargı. However, whenever any show (anywhere in the world) starts to extend itself for reasons other than creative ones, the threat of leaving cast members and production team members only increases and the quality undoubtedly suffers. Yargı is too precious to its audience to risk this, so I think the show needs a finite number of episodes going into season 3. With regards to the character distortions mentioned above and my other thoughts on storytelling choices, I will probably wait until at least the end of season 2 to reveal them. This is primarily because Sema is brilliant and it’s possible, I might change my mind once I can see a bigger picture as we approach the end of the season. Overall, IN SEMA WE TRUST.
