In Montrose: this is a pretty neighborhood
In Montrose: this is a pretty neighborhood
Today I decided I had better just stop playing Stardew Valley and get back to blogging. I was surprised to see that I had never finished this post. So I am going to get it done now, though it should have been finished a month ago. I will expand it to include the days since it should have been finished.
What follows is a post that proves that I will write about anything rather than finish…

New Years 2020, in Arequipa, Peru
New Years 2020, in Arequipa, Peru

I was totally unmotivated to do anything to celebrate New Years this year. I did decided that I would make up a nice meal to be noshing on when the new year came in. I gave myself, as a New Years’ present the complete series of M*A*S*H. I was surprised that all 11 seasons were only about $70 USD.
Just as I was setting up my dining table, my…

I promised some more photos taken as I walked around town, so here they are:
This photo was taken with the idea of making a jigsaw puzzle out of it. That is why I was aiming more for interesting angles and colors than documenting what I saw.
This charming front porch is behind a fence, but I placed my phone against the fence to keep the black…

I am making this post one with minimal words, and leaving the photos to do most of the talking. All the photos were taken on one day when I walked the 5 kilometers into town and back.
Each place I have lived has something that stands out. Here in Arequipa, it is small chapels everywhere.

As May was drawing to an end, I really didn’t feel like going to a museum, but I needed to get some exercise, so I walked down to Saxon park to get a better photograph of the statue I had photographed walking back from the Royal Castle.
It was as I suspected. In was another monument to Maria Konopnicka, who was a women’s rights activist and…

I did a walk one day to see one statue, but there wasn’t enough to do a blog post on it, so I have just put them into this blog, because, had I walked down a parallel street I would have passed this statue on on the way to the Castle.

I find the sidewalks here endlessly fascinating. Perhaps that is because I always have to be…

I really had nowhere to go, but after so many days of rain, I just had to get out of the apartment. I walked down the Park Moat and the Citadel slope, around the Warsaw Citadel, to walk around the last part of the perimeter that I had not seen yet.

My friend sent me a link to the Facebook page for this wine tasting, Simply Italian 2019. When I logged on to get a ticket I found that they had a short list of things you could be to attend. I checked off Blogger. So I guess I need to blog about it in return for all the lovely wine I drank at the Mamaison Hotel Le Reginain Warsaw.

Warsaw: May Day

1st of May, is International Workers Day, so it is a major holiday here. It is closely followed by 3rd May – which is Constitution Day. That makes for one long weekend. I have heard that a lot of people head out of town for the week, but I decided to walk downtown anyway, to see the what was going on to celebrate the day.
Polish flags are flying…

When I got up today, I decided to have an unusual breakfast. Pork pate on whole grain bread, with horseradish and bilberry jam. My friend Gina told me about it. It sounded about crazy enough to be good. It was, even though I might have gone a bit heavy on the horseradish.
After lingering too long over two cups of morning coffee, playing games…
