#Phoenix wright has heterochromia

new headcanon that the reason phoenix switches between blue and brown eyes is because he got trauma-induced heterochromia from being hit with a fire extinguisher and since then he uses colored eye contacts to mess with people. Want brown eyes? Cover the one blue eye. Want blue eyes? Cover the one brown eye. Repeat ad infinitum until Apollo has a stroke or something.

I always found the "Wright has gray-blue heterochromia" headcanon interesting, so I decided to play around with a few different looks (ha ha) based on the types of IRL heterochromia to spice up the usual execution.

So far my favorite is the one with central heterochromia :]

Today I drew a Phoenix and I think I'm slowly but surely getting better at drawing him and enjoyed drawing this, especially his full body pose :3. I also found myself appreciating his AA5/6 suit design a lot more but still changed some details, like making the buttons on his vest pink to match his tie and making the vest light blue like it looks like it is in AA5 was was changed to white for AA6 which kinda makes me mad cuz a white vest on a white shirt!? WHY!? I think the white vest bothers me more than him suddenly getting blue eyes, though I think that opinion heavy influenced by fanon Phoenix having heterochromia, presumably because of the AA6 official art (cuz his model in AA6 still has dark grey eyes!? and they did the same with Maya, why???).

Now for some Phoenix hcs I have:

After much consideration I've decided I personally subscribe to Phoenix's being a Theatre art major however, I still hc him as being good at painting and I like to think he helped paint a lot of the sets and props.

He is also massive art snob, to the point Miles refuses to go to art galleries with him, otherwise he'll deal with Phoenix loudly criticizing each and every art work.

He's an only child and was raised by his Mom. His Dad and her divorced when he was a Toddler so he doesn't remember him. His last name is from his Mom.

he got his phone in 2008 as a teen (it was his first phone) and never upgraded it until 20 years later when it finally died. Trucy, Miles, Larry and Maya all bullied him into getting a smart phone.

He has ADHD but wasn't aware until Athena one day made an off hand comment towards him with the assumption her boss was diagnosed.

I also hc him as bi, cuz why no ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Idk I’m just real proud of the magatama and its lighting, also I gave him burn scars from The Bridge, there’s just no way he came out of that with just a cold.

Bisexual color scheme let’s go, when Mia adopts him as her little brother he gets one of her magatamas to symbolize his connection to the Fey family. Also bc it confused me as to why she’s depicted with two different colored ones, so she has a spare that she hands off to Phoenix lol.

Close ups bc I wanted to talk some more, firstly the symbolism of the star earring, so the WAA has their own obvious celestial thing going on, Sun- Apollo, Moon- Athena, and so I decided that the Stars- the Wrights. I like leaning into the idea that both him and Trucy are at their core, performers. There’s also the association of luck and wishes that come with shooting stars that I think vibes with him idk.

Also I gave him sectoral heterochromia in the shape of the magatama so it can glow when he uses it and it just looks cool man

One more thing, his hair. I like the idea that when he ate the necklace he didn’t just get scars on his lips from crunching the glass as frantically as he could manage, but the poison left behind bleached his hair and fucked him up a little more than what’s in the games. Also it looks kinda cool. I love permanent effects (physical or otherwise) of traumatic experiences!

Another magatama color but I also wanted to talk about his clothes, the buttons are based off of the sparkle in the ace attorney logo and the buttons on Ryunosuke’s clothes in TGAA

And bc I like connecting characters to each other, the diamond pattern is obvious Trucy coded. I also like the idea that his waistcoat is something of a mix between a corset, a back brace, and a bullet proof vest. I think that would be nice for him. That didn’t do much to change its design I just thought about it.

Dumb but niche fanfic idea oneshot. Fanfiction that centers around Phoenix Wright misplacing his eye contacts and everyone in court learning he has heterochromia. Chaos ensues, and Phoenix is just dying of embarrassment. Because no one knows how to be normal about this new info, and Phoenix is just desperate to get the case over with so he can buy new eye contacts.

The whole fic is just him being tired like: "Yes, I have heterochromia. No, it's not fake. Can we please move on?"

It's a rough idea, but would make a funny one shot tbh.

Notes on the name: Named after Gregory Edgeworth (with Miles Edgeworth's blessing). When used with his nickname “Grey”, his name sounds like “grey right”, an “ambiguous right”. In Japanese, his name sounds like “I see, Truth”. 

Birthday: September 2031

Personality: Cool-headed and self-assured but his confidence can get him in trouble.

Parents: Phoenix Wright (Biological Father), Maya Fey (Biological Mother), Miles Edgeworth (Adoptive Father)

Other notes: He came as a surprise, as he was the first male Fey born in generations. With very few opportunities for him in Kurain Village as one who couldn't channel, it was decided that he would live with Phoenix full-time after his first birthday. He was adopted by Edgeworth as a third parent when he was three. He earned his badge at the age of eighteen.

Notes on the name: Named after her late aunt. Maya knew she was going to name her first daughter after her sister for years, and was even addressing Gregory as "Mia" before it was discovered that he was a boy.

Personality: Passionate and adventurous but tends to start trouble.

Parents: Phoenix Wright, Maya Fey

Other Notes: When Mia was a little older, she would sneak away from Kurain Village to visit her brother. She had been kicked out of the courthouse on a couple of occasions for aggressive behavior.

Notes on the name: The name “Melusina” was Edgeworth’s idea, as Melusine was a mythical creature of water, contrasting from Phoenix being a mythical creature of fire. Her Japanese name means “water bird”.

Birthday: March 2037

Personality: Mild mannered and soft spoken, but aloof.

Parents: Phoenix Wright, Maya Fey

Other Notes: The most spiritual of her generation. She enjoys solitude and speaks to trees, animals, and insects--often bringing them home, much to her family’s dismay.

Other Notes: Opal is two months older than her second cousin Mia, so Pearl and Maya raised them as if they were twins, however, she inflates her role as the “older sister”. She’s also a bookworm and knows the most about channeling in theory, but is not the most powerful.
