A deep groan left Shawnee’s mouth as she shifted her body onto her stomach, her hands going to her eyes in order to escape the harsh glare of the sun. It took a moment for Shawnee to recall exactly where she was - a hotel in Vegas. That would explain the stiff white sheets and freezing cold room. She and some of the girls from the training team had gone on a spontaneous Vegas trip. Standby tickets were purchased for their group of eight, a way too expensive hotel suite booked on someone’s phone and soon enough they were at the San Diego airport awaiting their hour and a half flight. After a few minutes, Shawnee felt brave enough to brave the sunlight and the pounding in her head to try and find her phone so she could figure out what time it was. She was pretty sure Alicia was planning a little spay day for them, proceeded by brunch and followed up by soaking up some rays at the pool. As Shawnee made the shift to get up, she blindly reached to the other side of the bed in hopes of feeling her phone but instead was met with the solid feeling of someone’s back.
